Here, we employ an operando approach, combining a fast electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring (EQCM-D), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and Raman spectroscopy to investigate interfacial transformations of Co3O4 nanoparticle electrodes in alkaline electrolyte. We identify two distinct regimes during the anodic sweep prior to the macroscopic OER onset. At lower potentials, the catalyst interface remains mechanically rigid while reversibly associating several OH−/H2O species per oxidized cobalt site. At higher potentials, pronounced softening of the interface occurs alongside further uptake of electrolyte species. This indicates amorphization and a ‘swelling process’ beyond simple adsorption. Notably, an electrochemical conditioning treatment can suppress mass and compliance hysteresis without affecting OER activity, suggesting that most incorporated electrolyte species do not participate in the OER. EIS further reveals that OER intermediates form well below the apparent OER onset potential. These results advance our mechanistic understanding of interfacial transformations in cobalt-based OER catalysts and establish EQCM-D as a sensitive operando technique for probing electrocatalyst transformations.","lang":"eng"}],"_id":"63675","publisher":"Wiley","volume":18,"user_id":"116779","status":"public","oa":"1","citation":{"apa":"Leppin, C., Placke‐Yan, C., Bendt, G., Hernandez, S., Tschulik, K., Schulz, S., &#38; Linnemann, J. However, apps often use third-party code, complicating accurate disclosures. This paper investigates how accurately current Android apps fulfill these requirements. In this work, we present a multi-layered definition of privacy-related data to correctly report data collection in Android apps. We further create a dataset of privacy-sensitive data classes that may be used as input by an Android app. This dataset takes into account data collected both through the user interface and system APIs. Based on this, we implement a semi-automated prototype that detects and labels privacy-related data collected by a given Android app. We manually examine the data safety sections of 70 Android apps to observe how data collection is reported, identifying instances of over- and under-reporting. We compare our prototype’s results with the data safety sections of 20 apps revealing reporting discrepancies. Using the results from two Messaging and Social Media apps (Signal and Instagram), we discuss how app developers under-report and over-report data collection, respectively, and identify inaccurately reported data categories. A broader study of 7,500 Android apps reveals that apps most frequently collect data that can\r\n partially identify\r\n users. Although system APIs consistently collect large amounts of privacy-related data, user interfaces exhibit some more diverse data collection patterns. A more focused study on various domains of apps reveals that the largest fraction of apps collecting personal data belong to the domain of\r\n Messaging and Social Media\r\n . However, it is often under-reported in app data safety sections. Accurate prediction of the fatigue life of clinched joints is essential for ensuring structural safety and minimizing development costs. However, full 3D fatigue simulations over millions of cycles are computationally intensive due to the complexity of contact mechanics. This study introduces a 2D numerical model that circumvents direct contact modeling by applying a slip condition at the sheet interface, significantly reducing computational demands. A micro‐slip friction model is used to represent the mechanical interface behavior, while a two‐scale damage model captures the fatigue damage evolution. This work presents a numerical uniform corrosion model that predicts the corrosion rate of hot-dip zinc in salt-spray environments by incorporating electrochemical reactions, mass transport via the Nernst–Planck equation, and ionic-strength effects through the Brønsted–Bjerrum relation. The model is calibrated using immersion-test data and extended to account for electrolyte layer growth, droplet deposition, and periodic run-off in salt-spray environments. The calibration establishes a relationship between the porosity of the zinc oxide layer and the rate constant of zinc oxide precipitation. The validated model reproduces the transition from activation- to diffusion-controlled corrosion and captures the experimentally observed corrosion kinetics with an error margin of 20% when electrolyte renewal is included. The results highlight the decisive role of electrolyte dynamics in salt-spray environments and provide a foundation for extending the framework to more complex cyclic corrosion tests.
","lang":"eng"}],"project":[{"_id":"142","name":"TRR 285 - Subproject B03"},{"_id":"132","name":"TRR 285 - Project Area B"},{"name":"TRR 285: Methodenentwicklung zur mechanischen Fügbarkeit in wandlungsfähigen Prozessketten","_id":"130"}],"date_created":"2026-02-19T10:02:29Z","type":"journal_article","status":"public","year":"2026","title":"Modeling the uniform corrosion behavior of zinc in salt spray testing","author":[{"full_name":"Chen, Chin","last_name":"Chen","first_name":"Chin","id":"114741"},{"last_name":"Hofmann","first_name":"Martin","full_name":"Hofmann, Martin"},{"full_name":"Wallmersperger, Thomas","first_name":"Thomas","last_name":"Wallmersperger"}],"publication_identifier":{"issn":["2397-2106"]},"publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2026-02-24T15:10:55Z","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"_id":"64250","publisher":"Springer Science and Business Media LLC","user_id":"114741","doi":"10.1038/s41529-026-00749-0"},{"citation":{"mla":"Schroeter-Wittke, Harald. “Lienhard, Fritz, u. The waveguide structure is composed of I-shaped aluminum metamaterial constituents, placed periodically on a copper-quartz bilayer substrate in the propagation direction of an incident THz beam. The electric field vector is set along a I-shape design in the transverse direction of the meta-waveguide, leading to the excitation of a strong dipole resonance around the I-shaped meta-atom. The dipole resonance is quite sharp with high\r\n Q\r\n values due to the strong interaction of propagating THz wave with the metamaterial design, unlike traditional terahertz metatareials. The THz transmission response of the waveguide is numerically analyzed to study the dipole resonance, which shows the existence of two resonances due to near-field coupling. Furthermore, the excitation of these dipole resonances and their coupling behavior are confirmed by the electric field distribution of the meta-waveguide. Notably, these dipole resonances can be tuned across a range of frequencies which are integrated with the coupling mechanism, offering a practical route for realizing next-generation photonic devices. We also employ a semi-analytical coupled harmonic oscillator theory to understand the underlying physical mechanisms of the dipole resonators in meta-waveguides and to corroborate our numerically obtained transmission results. So far, investigations involving intimate covalent or ionic bonds have not been a focus. Yet, we show here that an established technique, involving thermocompressional wafer bonding, works well for creating twisted non-van der Waals interfaces. We have successfully bonded z-cut lithium niobate single crystals to create ferroelectric oxide interfaces with strong polar discontinuities and have mapped the associated emergent interfacial conductivity. In some instances, a dramatic change in microstructure occurs, involving local dipolar switching. A twist-induced collapse in the capability of the system to effec8tively screen interfacial bound charge is implied. Importantly, this only occurs around specific moiré twist angles with sparse coincident lattices and associated short-range aperiodicity. In quasicrystals, aperiodicity is known to induce pseudo-bandgaps and we suspect a similar phenomenon here.","lang":"eng"}]},{"main_file_link":[{"open_access":"1"}],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"doi":"10.1080/00218464.2026.2644394","title":"Experimental characterization and numerical analysis of the influence of the CED coating process on viscous fingering formation in hybrid-jointed mixed structures","year":"2026","publication_identifier":{"issn":["0021-8464","1545-5823"]},"author":[{"first_name":"Mohamad","last_name":"Al Trjman","full_name":"Al Trjman, Mohamad","id":"65415"},{"id":"66192","first_name":"Felix","last_name":"Beule","full_name":"Beule, Felix"},{"last_name":"Teutenberg","first_name":"Dominik","full_name":"Teutenberg, Dominik","id":"537"},{"first_name":"Gerson","last_name":"Meschut","orcid":"0000-0002-2763-1246","full_name":"Meschut, Gerson","id":"32056"},{"full_name":"Riese, Julia","first_name":"Julia","last_name":"Riese","orcid":"0000-0002-3053-0534","id":"101499"}],"publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2026-03-14T19:04:46Z","article_type":"original","file":[{"success":1,"content_type":"application/pdf","file_id":"64917","file_size":14668789,"access_level":"closed","file_name":"Experimental characterization and numerical analysis of the influence of the CED coating process on viscous fingering formation in hybrid-jointed mixe.pdf","date_updated":"2026-03-14T18:50:31Z","relation":"main_file","date_created":"2026-03-14T18:50:31Z","creator":"mohamada"}],"date_created":"2026-03-14T18:43:41Z","type":"journal_article","keyword":["Adhesive area reduction","CED coating process","delta alpha problem","epoxy structural adhesive","influence of manufacture","multi-material design","numerical simulation (FEM)","relative displacements","viscous fingering (saffman-taylor-instability)."],"department":[{"_id":"9"}],"publication":"The Journal of Adhesion","abstract":[{"text":"The joining of dissimilar materials, such as steel and aluminum, entails significant challenges during thermal curing processes due to differing coefficients of thermal expansion. This study addresses the formation of “viscous fingering” instabilities in structural adhesive joints, which are induced by thermally driven relative displacements during the liquid phase of the adhesive. Using a component-like specimen “bridge specimen,” the dependency of this phenomenon on process temperature and structural stiffness (rivet distance) was characterized. Experimental results reveal that while the relative displacement scales cubically with the free buckling length, the resulting adhesive area reduction follows an exponential trend, leading to a loss of effective bond area of up to 79%, which significantly compromises the joint strength in automotive applications. To predict these process-induced defects, a thermo-chemo-viscoelastic-viscoplastic adhesive model implemented in LS-DYNA was applied. The model combines curing kinetics, viscoelastic relaxation, and pressure-dependent plasticity and features a geometric damage parameter (D) that captures the adhesive area reduction caused by viscous fingering as an exponential function of the accumulated normal strain in the liquid phase. This damage parameter, calibrated on base-specimen level, was transferred to the component geometry. The simulation demonstrated high predictive accuracy with a maximum deviation of the adhesive area reduction of 3.1% compared to experimental data. This validates the model’s capability to predict manufacturing-induced damage in complex hybrid structures solely based on thermal boundary conditions.","lang":"eng"}],"page":"1-24","publisher":"Informa UK Limited","_id":"64916","user_id":"65415","ddc":["620","670","660"],"status":"public","has_accepted_license":"1","oa":"1","file_date_updated":"2026-03-14T18:50:31Z","citation":{"mla":"Al Trjman, Mohamad, et al. “Experimental Characterization and Numerical Analysis of the Influence of the CED Coating Process on Viscous Fingering Formation in Hybrid-Jointed Mixed Structures.” <i>The Journal of Adhesion</i>, Informa UK Limited, 2026, pp. 1–24, doi:<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1080/00218464.2026.2644394\">10.1080/00218464.2026.2644394</a>.","bibtex":"@article{Al Trjman_Beule_Teutenberg_Meschut_Riese_2026, title={Experimental characterization and numerical analysis of the influence of the CED coating process on viscous fingering formation in hybrid-jointed mixed structures}, DOI={<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1080/00218464.2026.2644394\">10.1080/00218464.2026.2644394</a>}, journal={The Journal of Adhesion}, publisher={Informa UK Limited}, author={Al Trjman, Mohamad and Beule, Felix and Teutenberg, Dominik and Meschut, Gerson and Riese, Julia}, year={2026}, pages={1–24} }","ama":"Al Trjman M, Beule F, Teutenberg D, Meschut G, Riese J. However, their effectiveness is often limited by a high rate of false positives, which wastes developer's effort and undermines trust in automated analysis. This work presents a Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) model designed to predict SAST reports as true and false positive. The model leverages Code Property Graphs (CPGs) constructed from static analysis results to capture both, structural and semantic relationships within code. Trained on the CamBenchCAP dataset, the model achieved an accuracy of 100% on the test set using an 80/20 train-test split. Evaluation on the CryptoAPI-Bench benchmark further demonstrated the model's practical applicability, reaching an overall accuracy of up to 96.6%. A detailed qualitative inspection revealed that many cases marked as misclassifications corresponded to genuine security weaknesses, indicating that the model effectively reflects conservative, security-aware reasoning. Identified limitations include incomplete control-flow representation due to missing interprocedural connections. Future work will focus on integrating call graphs, applying graph explainability techniques, and extending training data across multiple SAST tools to improve generalization and interpretability.","lang":"eng"}],"citation":{"bibtex":"@article{Ohlmer_Schlichtig_Bodden_2026, title={FP-Predictor - False Positive Prediction for Static Analysis Reports}, journal={arXiv:2603.10558}, author={Ohlmer, Tom and Schlichtig, Michael and Bodden, Eric}, year={2026} }","ama":"Ohlmer T, Schlichtig M, Bodden E. Therefore, we categorize the potential measures in terms of subjective and objective outcomes and short- and long-term outcomes of interactive social XAI. When reviewing the current state of the art, we observed some measurement problems in the literature: (a) Researchers do not clearly state whether they want to measure the inner state of users, users’ behavioral response, or the overall AI-human collaborative performance. (b) Moreover, most measures implicitly assume that all humans either do not react or improve in attitudes or performance. Psychological reactance (feeling or doing the opposite) is usually not captured. (c) Many researchers invent their own scale when measuring psychological constructs, thereby jeopardizing the validity of their measures and slowing down progress in the field, because general evidence and subsequent learning can be achieved only by collecting many compatible pieces of evidence. (d) Most studies look into short-term outcomes and neglect that experiences in social interactions with XAI may evolve and have long-term outcomes not only for the individual but also for groups or society at large.
"}],"project":[{"name":"TRR 318 - Subproject A3","_id":"113"},{"_id":"125","name":"TRR 318 - Subproject C2"}],"_id":"65088","publisher":"Springer Nature Singapore","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"doi":"10.1007/978-981-96-5290-7_28","user_id":"72497","status":"public","title":"Measuring the Outcome of sXAI","year":"2026","publication_identifier":{"isbn":["9789819652891","9789819652907"]},"author":[{"full_name":"Thommes, Kirsten","first_name":"Kirsten","last_name":"Thommes","id":"72497"}],"date_updated":"2026-03-23T08:45:33Z","publication_status":"published"},{"publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2026-03-25T07:44:52Z","year":"2026","title":"Molecular lithography with DNA nanostructures: Methods and applications","status":"public","publication_identifier":{"issn":["0022-3727","1361-6463"]},"author":[{"id":"48864","full_name":"Keller, Adrian Clemens","first_name":"Adrian Clemens","orcid":"0000-0001-7139-3110","last_name":"Keller"},{"first_name":"Veikko","last_name":"Linko","full_name":"Linko, Veikko"}],"user_id":"48864","doi":"10.1088/1361-6463/ae5667","publisher":"IOP Publishing","_id":"65108","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"abstract":[{"text":"
Abstract
\r\n
Lithographic surface patterning is a cornerstone of modern materials and device fabrication. Although the available lithography techniques are constantly being advanced to push the feature sizes down to the few-nanometer scale, such developments are associated with many technological and economic challenges. Combining established top-down lithography with bottom-up self-assembly strategies has the potential to overcome those challenges and enable the manipulation of matter with molecular precision. One of the most exciting approaches in this regard is to harness the programmability of DNA self-assembly to create precise DNA nanostructure masks to be used in the lithographic patterning of diverse substrates. DNA nanotechnology has provided us with a versatile toolbox for the high-yield synthesis of 2D and 3D nanostructures with complex, user-defined shapes at unprecedented molecular accuracy. Consequently, the last decade has seen intense research efforts aimed at transferring such DNA nanostructure shapes into functional organic and inorganic materials and we have now arrived at a point where sophisticated molecular lithography approaches utilize DNA nanostructure masks for the fabrication of plasmonic surfaces for metamaterials and sensing applications. This review summarizes how the spatial information of such DNA nanostructure masks can be transferred into various organic and inorganic materials through selective etching and deposition steps. The review also discusses recent developments toward all-purpose molecular lithography schemes and highlights promising extensions of the discussed methods toward new materials systems and application fields.
","lang":"eng"}],"publication":"Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics","citation":{"chicago":"Keller, Adrian Clemens, and Veikko Linko. “Molecular Lithography with DNA Nanostructures: Methods and Applications.” <i>Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics</i>, 2026. <a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1088/1361-6463/ae5667\">https://doi.org/10.1088/1361-6463/ae5667</a>.","short":"A.C. The experiment is based on pulsed frequency bins measured with a multioutput quantum pulse gate, which can perform projective measurements on a complete high-dimensional basis in the time-frequency domain. Our results fit the theoretical predictions: the bound on the sum of the entropies is never violated and is saturated by the states that minimize the uncertainty relations.\r\n
","lang":"eng"}],"issue":"3","publication":"Physical Review A","type":"journal_article","department":[{"_id":"15"},{"_id":"623"},{"_id":"288"}],"date_created":"2026-03-23T12:29:23Z"},{"main_file_link":[{"url":"https://www.herder.de/theologie-pastoral/shop/p2/95093-seelsorge-im-lebensraum-schule-open-access-pdf/","open_access":"1"}],"language":[{"iso":"ger"}],"title":"Keuchen, Marion/ Lindemeyer, Sabine: Demokratiebildung anhand eines (schul-)seelsorglichen Rituals im Rahmen der Lehramtsausbildung","year":"2026","author":[{"orcid":"https://orcid.org/0009-0000-9904-6479","first_name":"Marion","last_name":"Keuchen","full_name":"Keuchen, Marion","id":"251"},{"full_name":"Lindemeyer, Sabine","first_name":"Sabine","last_name":"Lindemeyer"}],"publication_identifier":{"isbn":["978-3-451-02651-5"],"eisbn":["978-3-451-84651-9"]},"date_updated":"2026-04-01T13:57:57Z","publication_status":"published","file":[{"date_updated":"2026-03-27T09:03:05Z","relation":"main_file","file_size":4577242,"access_level":"closed","file_name":"Seeslorge im Lebensraum Schule_Herder_2025.pdf","success":1,"content_type":"application/pdf","file_id":"65169","creator":"keuchen","date_created":"2026-03-27T09:03:05Z"}],"date_created":"2026-03-27T09:04:19Z","type":"book_chapter","department":[{"_id":"36"},{"_id":"20"},{"_id":"500"}],"publication":"Seelsorge im Lebensraum Schule.
