Applications are in the fields of surface parametrization, spline space construction, semi‐structured quad mesh generation, or geometry data compression. We describe a generalization of this motorcycle graph concept to the three‐dimensional volumetric setting. Through careful extensions aware of topological intricacies of this higher‐dimensional setting, we are able to guarantee important block decomposition properties also in this case. We describe algorithms for the construction of this 3D motorcycle complex on the basis of either hexahedral meshes or seamless volumetric parametrizations. In this context, an important advance has been the replacement of error-prone rounding in the generation of integer-grid maps, by robust quantization methods. In parallel, parametrization-based hex mesh generation for volumes has been advanced. In this volumetric context, however, the state-of-the-art still relies on fragile rounding, not rarely producing defective meshes, especially when targeting a coarse mesh resolution. We present a method to robustly quantize volume parametrizations, i.e., to determine guaranteed valid choices of integers for 3D integer-grid maps. Inspired by the 2D case, we base our construction on a non-conforming cell decomposition of the volume, a 3D analogue of a T-mesh. In particular, we leverage the motorcycle complex, a recent generalization of the motorcycle graph, for this purpose. Integer values are expressed in a differential manner on the edges of this complex, enabling the efficient formulation of the conditions required to strictly prevent forcing the map into degeneration. Der Beitrag greift Religionssensibilität als Beitrag zur Bildung von Diversitätskompetenz auf und zeigt anhand von Text- und Bilderwelten im religionsdidaktischen Medium Kinderbibel, auf welche Weise diese eine Pädagogik der Vielfalt hemmen oder unterstützen können. Die Abbildung von fremden/anderen Religionen in Text- und Bilderwelten von christlichen Kinderbibeln werden in den Fokus genommen und gefragt, wie Multireligiosität und Diversität durch reflektierte didaktische Zugänge ins Bewusstsein gerückt werden können. Due to a lack of knowledge, it is difficult for consumers to select healthy foods at the point of sale. Although different front-of-pack labeling schemes exist, their informative value is limited due to small sets of considered parameters and lacking information on ingredient composition. We developed and evalauated a manufacture-independent approach to quantify ingredient composition of 294 ready-to eat salads (distinguished into 73 subgroups) as test set. Nutritional quality was assessed by the nutriRECIPE-Index and compared to the Nutri-Score. The nutriRECIPE-Index comprises the calculation of energy-adjusted nutrient density of 16 desirable and three undesirable nutrients, which are weighted according to their degree of supply in the population. We show that the nutriRECIPE-Index has stronger discriminatory power compared to the Nutri-Score and discriminates as well or even better in 63 out of the 73 subgroups. This was evident in groups where seemingly similar products were compared, e.g., potato salads (Nutri-Score: C only, nutriRECIPE-Index: B, C and D). Moreover, the nutriRECIPE-Index is adjustable to any target population’s specific needs and supply situation, such as seniors, and children. Several different approaches to realize solid-state quantum emitters with high performance have been pursued and different concepts for energy tuning have been established. However, the properties of the emitted photons are always defined by the individual quantum emitter and can therefore not be controlled with full flexibility. Here we introduce an all-optical nonlinear method to tailor and control the single photon emission. We demonstrate a laser-controlled down-conversion process from an excited state of a semiconductor quantum three-level system. Based on this concept, we realize energy tuning and polarization control of the single photon emission with a control-laser field. The retraction to the skeleton is precisely the specialization map for divisors. Moreover, we show that the process of tropicalization naturally commutes with the diagonal morphisms and the Abel-Jacobi map and we exhibit a faithful tropicalization for symmetric powers of curves.
