  text:
Abstract
Online reviews have profound impacts
on firm success in terms of sales volume and how much customers are willing to
pay, yet firms remain highly dependent on customers’ voluntary contributions.
A popular way to increase the number of online reviews is to use product testing
programs, which offer participants free products in exchange for writing reviews.
Firms that employ this practice generally hope to increase review quality and
secure higher product rating scores. However, a qualitative study, experimental
study, and multilevel analysis of a field study dataset of more than 200,000 online
reviews by product testers combine to reveal that product testing programs do
not necessarily generate higher quality reviews, nor better product ratings. Only
in certain circumstances (e.g., higher priced products) does offering a product
testing program generate these benefits for the firm. Therefore, companies should
consider carefully if and when they want to offer product testing programs.

of energy systems as \r\nwell as performance analysis. However commercial data
acquisition systems often have cost implications that are \r\nprohibitive for
small PV systems and installations in developing countries.\r\nIn this paper,
a multi-user, multi-purpose microgrid database system is designed and implemented.
MAVOWATT \r\n270 power quality analyzers by GOSSEN METRAWATT, raspberry pi modules
and sensors are used for measuring, \r\nrecording and storing electrical and meteorological
data in East Africa. Socio-economic data is also stored in the\r\ndatabase. The
designed system employs open source software and hardware solutions which are
best suited to \r\ndeveloping regions like East Africa due to the lower cost implications.\r\nThe
expected results promise a comprehensive database covering different electro-technical
and socio-economic \r\nparameters useful for optimal design of microgrid systems."

  text:
When joining lightweight parts of various materials, clinching is
a cost efficient solution. In a production line, the quality of a clinch point
is primarily controlled by measurement of dimensions, which are accessible from
outside. However, methods such as visual testing and measuring the bottom thickness
as well as the outer diameter are not able to deliver any information about the
most significant geometrical characteristic of the clinch point, neck thickness
and undercut. Furthermore, ex-situ destructive methods such as microsectioning
cannot detect elastic deformations and cracks that close after unloading. In order
to exceed the current limits, a new non-destructive in-situ testing method for
the clinching process is necessary. This work proposes a concept to characterize
clinch points in-situ by combining two complementary non-destructive methods,
namely, computed tomography (CT) and ultrasonic testing. Firstly, clinch points
with different geometrical characteristics are analysed experimentally using ex-situ
CT to get a highly spatially resolved 3D-image of the object. In this context,
highly X-ray attenuating materials enhancing the visibility of the sheet-sheet
interface are investigated. Secondly, the test specimens are modelled using finite
element method (FEM) and a transient dynamic analysis (TDA) is conducted to study
the effect of the geometrical differences on the deformation energy and to qualify
the TDA as a fast in-situ non-destructive method for characterizing clinch points
    at high temporal resolution.

text: The efficiency of dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) enhanced 19F MAS NMR
spectroscopy without 19F-containing solvents and matrices, which transport polarization
via 19F–19F spin diffusion, is demonstrated. By preventing solvent and matrix
signals respectively masking the corresponding resonances, this enables the detection
of fluorinated target molecules in nanomolar amounts. As model compound, 1,3,5-tris(2-fluoro-2-methylpropionylamino)benzene
(F-BTA) is investigated in a frozen 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane (TCE) solution and
incorporated into a matrix of isotactic polypropylene (i-PP). While the polarizing
agent is homogeneously dissolved within the frozen solution, for the i-PP/F-BTA
blend, it is distributed via the incipient wetness impregnation (IWI) technique.
For the frozen solutions with an F-BTA concentration of 187.5 mM an εon/off of
260 was obtained. For F-BTA concentrations of 10 and 2.5 mM the sensitivity trend
suggests even higher DNP gains. The substantial enhancements could be achieved
by direct polarization transfer over distances up to at least 20 Å, derived from
a simple geometric model assuming a homogeneous solution, engaging a large part
of the sample volume. Cross-polarization (CP) to 13C nuclei allowed selection
of the NMR spectroscopic resonances of the minority species in the i-PP/F-BTA
blend suppressing the otherwise dominating resonances of the IWI solvent and the
polymer matrix. The possibility of exciting 19F via DNP directly and of transferring
the polarization to other heteronuclei within close proximity enables spatial
spectral editing to clear up spectra otherwise crowded by matrix and solvent signals.
We thus expect direct polarization transfer techniques for DNP enhanced NMR spectroscopy
to become more important in the future.

text: Electrical-optical signal processing has been shown to be a promising path
to overcome the limitations of state-of-the-art all-electrical data converters.
In addition to ultra-broadband signal processing, it allows leveraging ultra-low
jitter mode-locked lasers and thus increasing the aperture jitter limited effective
number of bits at high analog signal frequencies. In this paper, we review our
recent progress towards optically enabled time- and frequency-interleaved analog-to-digital
converters, as well as their monolithic integration in electronic-photonic integrated
circuits. For signal frequencies up to 65 GHz, an optoelectronic track-and-hold
amplifier based on the source-emitter-follower architecture is shown as a power
efficient approach in optically enabled BiCMOS technology. At higher signal frequencies,
integrated photonic filters enable signal slicing in the frequency domain and
further scaling of the conversion bandwidth, with the reconstruction of a 140
GHz optical signal being shown. We further show how such optically enabled data
converter architectures can be applied to a nonlinear Fourier transform based
integrated transceiver in particular and discuss their applicability to broadband
    optical links in general.

  text: '
The response of the quartz crystal microbalance (QCM, also: QCM-D
for “QCM with Dissipation monitoring”) to loading with a diverse set of samples
is reviewed in a consistent frame. After a brief introduction to the advanced
QCMs, the governing equation (the small-load approximation) is derived. Planar
films and adsorbates are modeled based on the acoustic multilayer formalism. In
liquid environments, viscoelastic spectroscopy and high-frequency rheology are
possible, even on layers with a thickness in the monolayer range. For particulate
samples, the contact stiffness can be derived. Because the stress at the contact
is large, the force is not always proportional to the displacement. Nonlinear
effects are observed, leading to a dependence of the resonance frequency and the
resonance bandwidth on the amplitude of oscillation. Partial slip, in particular,
can be studied in detail. Advanced topics include structured samples and the extension
of the small-load approximation to its tensorial version.
'

  text:
Abstract
A fast electrochemical quartz crystal
microbalance with dissipation monitoring (EQCM−D) was applied to copper electrodeposition
and subsequent stripping. Accumulation brings the frequency noise down to the
mHz range, corresponding to 0.1 % of a monolayer. With this precision, the apparent
mass transfer rate as determined from the time‐derivative of the frequency shift
can be directly compared to the current. Small but systematic deviations between
the two can be attributed to nanoscale roughness. In the voltage range of underpotential
deposition (UPD), the apparent mass transfer rate shows peaks and shoulders. The
plating additive benzotriazole (BTA) leaves the magnitude of electrogravimetric
signals unchanged, but shifts the UPD onset potential. The additive thiourea (TU)
promotes UPD and strongly increases the bandwidth.

Quantitatives muss an qualitatives, automatisches an manuelles Arbeiten\r\nrückgekoppelt
