Die Herausforderung für den fremdsprachlichen A1-/A2-Unterricht besteht darin, das Phänomen der Verbstellung didaktisch so zu reduzieren, dass der Gegenstand zwar nicht unzulässig vereinfacht wird, die DaF-Lernenden aber ein leicht handhabbares Modell für die Sprachproduktion zur Verfügung haben, das sie auch ohne umfassende linguistische Vorkenntnisse nutzen können. Im vorliegenden Beitrag werden wir zeigen, wie eine Vermittlung dieses grammatischen Inhalts durch Metaphorisierung und Visualisierung gelingen kann. Dazu untersuchen wir gängige Metaphern, die in Lehrmaterial für A1-/A2-Niveau zur Einführung der Verbzweitstellung und der Klammerstruktur verwendet werden, und geben einen Überblick über die dort eingesetzten Visualisierungen, deren didaktischen Nutzen wir anhand eines von uns erstellten Kriterienkatalogs analysieren. Hierzu fassen wir syntaktische Modelle wie das Feldermodell, die Dependenz- und die Valenztheorie im\r\nKontext unseres Interesses zusammen.
