Lehre in der Kultur der Digitalität"},{"abstract":[{"lang":"eng","text":"<jats:sec>\r\n                    <jats:title>Purpose</jats:title>\r\n                    <jats:p>This study aims to explore the current state of generative artificial intelligence (genAI) in the workplace and discuss a potential digital divide in relation to genAI.</jats:p>\r\n                  </jats:sec>\r\n                  <jats:sec>\r\n                    <jats:title>Design/methodology/approach</jats:title>\r\n                    <jats:p>Using a quantitative approach, we study career-relevant predictors – family socio-economic status, education and work characteristics – and their relationship with different indicators of digital divide – access, genAI use, attitude toward AI and perceived AI literacy. To test our hypothesis, we used logistic and linear regression analyses. Additionally, latent profile analysis was conducted to identify patterns regarding work characteristics within the sample.</jats:p>\r\n                  </jats:sec>\r\n                  <jats:sec>\r\n                    <jats:title>Findings</jats:title>\r\n                    <jats:p>Among the 1,341 participants, 326 individuals were genAI users. Our results show that higher family socio-economic status, education and enriched and demanding work can be linked to a more positive attitude toward AI and higher perceived AI literacy. In the case of access and frequency of use, the results were mixed.</jats:p>\r\n                  </jats:sec>\r\n                  <jats:sec>\r\n                    <jats:title>Originality/value</jats:title>\r\n                    <jats:p>Our findings offer a novel contribution by examining a potentially upcoming digital divide in the case of genAI. We focus on how the career adaptation of the workforce might develop in the age of genAI. Importantly, we highlight that not all individuals may have an equal opportunity to adapt to genAI, which could hinder their future career development and reinforce patterns of inequality. Kompetenzen entstehen durch die Aneignung von Kenntnissen, Fähigkeiten, Fertigkeiten und Werthaltungen und sind an Sozialisationserfahrungen und damit inkorporierte Handlungsweisen und Normen gebunden Genderkompetenz ist notwendig, um Schülerinnen und Schülern gleiche Entwicklungschancen jenseits geschlechtsspezifischer Zuschreibungen zu ermöglichen und bei angehenden Lehrkräften umfassende Genderkompetenz zu etablieren. Dabei ist Gender sozial konstruiert, was als „doing gender“ bezeichnet wird. Der vorliegende Beitrag stellt ein Seminarkonzept vor, in dem über den Doing-Gender-Ansatz die alltägliche Herstellung von Geschlecht in den Mittelpunkt gerückt wird. Erst wenn – so die Grundannahme des Beitrags – verstanden ist, wie Geschlecht in der Gesellschaft über das Doing Gender (re)produziert wird, kann das Doing durch eigene Verhaltensänderungen verändert werden. Wie dies erreicht werden kann, wird im Folgenden dargestellt. Dazu wird zunächst das Seminarkonzept vorgestellt, in dem durch die Reflexion einer schulischen Situation, in die die Studierenden selbst involviert waren, das Doing Gender aufgedeckt wird. Anschließend wird eine Typologie von Situationen vorgestellt, die auf den Portfolios von fünf Seminaren (WS 21/22bis WS 23/24) basiert. Als eine Begründung gilt die Ausrichtung von Hochschulen an einem akademischen Habitus, der andere Habitus ausgrenzt und zu Passungsproblematiken führt. Wie diese Passungsproblematiken aufseiten der Studierenden entstehen ist ein mittlerweile unter suchtes Phänomen. Die Lehrenden und ihre Praktiken als zentraler Part der Lehr-Lern-Interaktion werden kaum betrachtet. Dieser Beitrag zeigt anhand einer Sekundärauswertung von zehn qualitativen Studien Praktiken des Lehrhandelns und der Interaktion zwischen Lehrenden und Studierenden auf. Analysiert wurden die Studien im Hinblick auf die Frage wie doing difference stattfindet, also wie durch Lehrpraktiken Studierende kategorisiert werden und welche Selektions- und Ausgrenzungsprozesse dadurch stattfinden. Dabei stütze ich mich auf die abgedruckten Interviewpassagen ebenso wie auf die von den Autorinnen und Autoren gemachten Analysen. Unter sanfter Konditionierung wird in Anlehnung an Luhmann die politische Steuerung durch Akkreditierungskriterien verstanden, die als Vehikel genutzt werden, um gesellschaftlich aktuell diskutierte Themen in den Hochschulen zu platzieren. KI ist eines der derzeit zentralen Zukunftsthemen in Hochschulen, das eine disruptive Wirkung entfalten kann. Bisher ist allerdings noch wenig über die Effekte bekannt, es zeigt sich aber, dass Studierende KI-Tools zur Ideenfindung, zum Schreiben, Korrigieren und Forschen bereits nutzen. Wie bei der Einführung anderer Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien (ICT) ist zu erwarten, dass es auch bei der Nutzung, Akzeptanz, dem Wissen über und der Kompetenz im Umgang mit KI-Tools Unterschiede gibt, die stark mit sozialen und kulturellen Faktoren zusammenhängen. Um diese Unterschiede zu untersuchen, wird das Konzept der digitalen Spaltung verwendet (van Deursen & van Dijk, 2019; Zillien & Marr, 2013).\r\n\r\nDem Konzept der digitalen Spaltung liegen drei Annahmen zugrunde. Erstens, dass der Zugang zum Internet und anderen ICT ungleich verteilt sind und in hohem Maße von sozialen Faktoren abhängen. Zweitens, dass die Nutzung und die damit verbundenen Kenntnisse und Fähigkeiten im Umgang mit ICT ungleich verteilt sind und drittens, dass dies zu Unterschieden bei der gesellschaftlichen Teilhabe führt, die soziale Auswirkungen haben (van Deursen & van Dijk, 2019; Zillien & Marr, 2013). Auf der Grundlage dieser Annahmen untersuchen wir die Ebenen der Digitalen Spaltung in Bezug auf KI-Tools von Studierenden: Erstens den Zugang zu KI-Tools unter Rückgriff auf Bourdieus Kapitalsorten (Bourdieu, 1984). Zweitens, die Nutzung von KI-Tools basierend auf der Kompetenzselbsteinschätzung und die Akzeptanz von KI-Tools. Drittens, die im Zusammenhang von Digitalisierung und Teilhabe antizipierten, gesamtgesellschaftlichen Veränderungen, mit denen hochschulische Lehre in der Zukunft konfrontiert ist.\r\n\r\nUm die digitale Spaltung bei Studierenden im Hinblick auf KI-Tools zu analysieren, wurde ein Fragebogen entwickelt. Dabei kamen zum einen etablierte Skalen zum Einsatz (z.B. sozialer Hintergrund, KI-Kompetenzen), zum anderen wurden eigene, spezifisch auf KI-Tools bezogene Skalen entwickelt und getestet (z.B. Nutzungsverhalten). Daten liegen aus einer Preteststudie mit Studierenden und einer Absolventenbefragung vor. Die vorliegenden Ergebnisse haben damit eine mittlere Reichweite. In a theory-led thought experiment, we first focus on the academic publication and citation system and develop three scenarios of the anticipated consequences of using LLMs: reproducing content and status quo (Scenario 1), enabling content coherence evaluation (Scenario 2) and content evaluation (Scenario 3). Second, we discuss the interaction between the use of LLMs and academic (counter)norms for citation selection and their impact on the publication and citation system. The new requirements that come with Open Science poses researchers with several challenges. While most of these challenges have already been addressed in several studies, little attention has been paid so far to the underlying Open Science practices (OSP). An exploratory study was conducted focusing on the OSP relating to sharing and using data. 13 researchers from the Weizenbaum Institute were interviewed. The Weizenbaum Institute is an interdisciplinary research institute in Germany that was founded in 2017. To reconstruct OSP a grounded theory methodology (Strauss in Qualitative Analysis for Social Scientists, Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, 1987) was used and classified OSP into open production, open distribution and open consumption (Smith in Openness as social praxis. First Monday, 2017). The research shows that apart from the disciplinary background and research environment, the methodological approach and the type of research data play a major role in the context of OSP. The interviewees’ self-attributions related to the types of data they work with: qualitative, quantitative, social media and source code. With regard to the methodological approach and type of data, it was uncovered that uncertainties and missing knowledge, data protection, competitive disadvantages, vulnerability and costs are the main reasons for the lack of openness. The analyses further revealed that knowledge and established data infrastructures as well as competitive advantages act as drivers for openness. To investigate current outcomes of Open Science research, and to get a better understanding on well-researched topics and research gaps, we aimed at providing an openly accessible overview of empirical studies that focus on different aspects of Open Science in different scientific disciplines, academic groups and geographical regions. In this paper, we describe a data set of studies about Open Science practices retrieved following a PRISMA approach to compile a literature review. We included studies from the Scopus and Web of Science databases with keywords relating to Open Science between the years 2000 and 2020, as well as a snowball search for relevant articles.
