To implement inclusive education successfully, it is crucial that teachers and other school staff are trained to cooperate effectively as a team and to involve parents in educational processes. In the project BiFoKi (Bielefeld Training on Cooperation in inclusive), we developed an in-service training for inclusive schools that addresses the intra-institutional cooperation within schools and the inter-institutional cooperation with the parents of students with and without special educational needs. The training aims to prepare grade-level teams to create a welcoming atmosphere, adapt communication ways to the diverse needs of parents and students and to involve parents more strongly in school educational processes. To evaluate the effectiveness of the training, a quasi-experimental study with a pre-post control group design was implemented. Longitudinal data is available for 55 teachers and other professionals. The results indicate that the intervention group demonstrated a more positive development in terms of satisfaction with parents' willingness to cooperate as well as self-reported cooperative behavior in the area of educational cooperation, compared to the control group."}],"date_created":"2024-04-19T07:29:21Z","department":[{"_id":"479"}],"keyword":["Inklusion","Kooperation","Eltern","Sekundarstufe 1","Evaluation","Integration","Schulentwicklung","Elternkooperation"],"type":"journal_article","author":[{"full_name":"Grüter, Sandra","last_name":"Grüter","first_name":"Sandra"},{"full_name":"Gorges, Julia","first_name":"Julia","last_name":"Gorges"},{"first_name":"Birgit","last_name":"Lütje-Klose","full_name":"Lütje-Klose, Birgit"},{"first_name":"Phillip","last_name":"Neumann","full_name":"Neumann, Phillip","id":"95559"},{"first_name":"Elke","last_name":"Wild","full_name":"Wild, Elke"}],"publication_identifier":{"issn":["2699-2477"]},"title":"Jahrgangsteams zur Kooperation mit Eltern anregen – eine Aufgabe für Fortbildungen?
","lang":"eng"}],"date_created":"2024-04-18T10:28:15Z","type":"journal_article","keyword":["Education"],"department":[{"_id":"299"}],"year":"2024","title":"Empirisch-kriterienorientierte Analyse des fachdidaktischen Wissens angehender Physiklehrkräfte: Welche inhaltlichen Strukturen zeigen sich über unterschiedliche Projekte hinweg?","status":"public","author":[{"full_name":"Zeller, Jannis","orcid":"0000-0002-1834-5520","first_name":"Jannis","last_name":"Zeller","id":"99022"},{"full_name":"Schiering, Dustin","last_name":"Schiering","first_name":"Dustin"},{"full_name":"Kulgemeyer, Christoph","last_name":"Kulgemeyer","first_name":"Christoph"},{"last_name":"Neumann","first_name":"Knut","full_name":"Neumann, Knut"},{"id":"429","full_name":"Riese, Josef","orcid":"0000-0003-2927-2619","first_name":"Josef","last_name":"Riese"},{"full_name":"Sorge, Stefan","first_name":"Stefan","last_name":"Sorge"}],"publication_identifier":{"issn":["0340-4099","2520-873X"]},"date_updated":"2024-08-19T12:44:06Z","publication_status":"published","publisher":"Springer Science and Business Media LLC","_id":"53567","language":[{"iso":"ger"}],"doi":"10.1007/s42010-024-00200-w","user_id":"99022","alternative_title":["Cross-project empirical and criteria-oriented analysis of pre-service physics teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge: What content structures emerge in the context of different models?"]},{"department":[{"_id":"233"},{"_id":"856"}],"type":"research_data","date_created":"2024-08-31T05:57:59Z","project":[{"name":"HenDi: Digitale Briefedition: Hans Werner Henzes künstlerisches Netzwerk","_id":"738","grant_number":"459602398"}],"abstract":[{"lang":"eng","text":"This is the data set of the project Henze-Digital. Abschließend diskutieren wir die konzeptionellen Entwicklungen und den Implementations- und Transferansatz.\r\nAbstract\r\nThe article presents a qualification format for multi-professional actors in the educational context on the developmental use of 'Selbstinszenierungspraktiken' (which means a combination of practices for self-awareness, self-realisation and self-acceptance in a process which we are developing in our project). The concept and development of the further education format is located within the framework of a research and development project for young people with wide-ranging needs in pre-vocational education units at the transition from school to work. They will be supported in recognizing, documenting and showing their strengths through open and creative self-expression and survey formats, as well as being strengthened for the transition from school to work.\r\nFirst, we present the project framework and clarify the approach by a theoretical grounding of ‚Selbstinszenierung‘ (similar to a combination of self-awareness, self-realisation and self-acceptance) as well as its potentials in the context of inclusive vocational education by strengthening the target group. The developed framework provides a basis for the adaptation of the concept to a specific location or educational programme and highlights challenges and qualification needs for actors in the educational context. We present the conceptual basis, the methodological and content-related design of the collegial training approach on the developmental use of 'Selbstinszenierungspraktiken'. We address the interaction of innovative development, clarification of roles and competence development of actors in the educational context. Finally, we discuss the conceptual developments and the implementation and transfer approach.
","lang":"eng"}],"date_created":"2024-03-19T07:08:03Z","keyword":["General Medicine"],"type":"journal_article","status":"public","_id":"52620","publisher":"University Library J. While some workers value the autonomy and flexibility of gig work, they also face unique challenges, including job insecurity and a lack of available career paths. Platforms are very limited in actively providing resources to their workers. However, platforms can shape their workers’ work environment by actively prioritizing different design attributes. Our study is among the first to uncover how these attributes contribute to workers’ intention to pursue a lasting career in gig work. Based on a PLS modelling approach with data from a two-wave quantitative survey involving 652 gig workers, we find that platforms’ utilitarian, hedonic, and relational design positively affect gig workers’ career commitment. Furthermore, we find evidence for the mediating role of gig workers’ thriving. Our research contributes to a better understanding of how platform design attributes can contribute to careers on gig work platforms."}],"_id":"61815","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"main_file_link":[{"url":"https://aisel.aisnet.org/icis2024/digital_emergsoc/digital_emergsoc/1/"}],"user_id":"122631","author":[{"id":"122631","full_name":"Strich, Franz","first_name":"Franz","last_name":"Strich","orcid":"0000-0002-0170-9025"},{"first_name":"Ihl","last_name":"Andreas","full_name":"Andreas, Ihl"},{"full_name":"Anne Sophie, Mayer","first_name":"Mayer","last_name":"Anne Sophie"}],"conference":{"name":"International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS)"},"title":"Thriving for Gig Workers’ Career Commitment: The Role of Platform Design Attributes","status":"public","year":"2024","date_updated":"2025-10-15T10:37:56Z"},{"publication":"AHFE International","abstract":[{"text":"
Systems Engineering is becoming increasingly important in the engineering of complex technical systems. Its introduction is forcing companies to undertake major transformation initiatives. As established change management approaches show, the corporate culture is an important key criterion for success of transformation. Therefore, when introducing Systems Engineering into an organization, transformation initiatives must be tailored to an existing corporate culture or the corporate culture itself must be changed in order to enable Systems Engineering. In literature and in industrial practice, different approaches for assessment of corporate culture exist. Within this research, a systematic literature review on methods and models for corporate culture assessment is conducted. Core elements are collected and combined with the fundamentals and success factors of Systems Engineering to develop a model for corporate culture assessment. The developed model is applied to the industrial practice of an ongoing Systems Engineering transformation of a large car manufacturer. The results of the assessment are compared with the emerging project challenges. Based on this model and its supporting tool and templates, organizations and transformation leaders are enabled to rapidly obtain an orientation of hindering or supporting currently established cultural aspects with regard to Systems Engineering transformation and to provide a decision basis for further measures.
","lang":"eng"}],"date_created":"2024-10-17T15:13:46Z","type":"conference","department":[{"_id":"152"}],"year":"2024","title":"Importance of cultural change in Systems Engineering Transformation: A model for cultural assessment","author":[{"full_name":"Graessler, Iris","last_name":"Graessler","first_name":"Iris"},{"last_name":"Grewe","first_name":"Benedikt","full_name":"Grewe, Benedikt"}],"publication_identifier":{"issn":["2771-0718"]},"date_updated":"2025-11-11T06:11:50Z","publication_status":"published","intvolume":" 158","main_file_link":[{"url":"https://openaccess.cms-conferences.org/publications/book/978-1-964867-34-2/article/978-1-964867-34-2_28","open_access":"1"}],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"doi":"10.54941/ahfe1005551","citation":{"apa":"Graessler, I., &#38; Grewe, B. The increased use of AI in making military decisions relevant to the use of force has sustained such questions about biases in these technologies and in how human users programme with and rely on data based on hierarchized socio-cultural norms, knowledges, and modes of attention.\r\n\r\nIn this post, Dr Ingvild Bode, Professor at the Center for War Studies, University of Southern Denmark, and Ishmael Bhila, PhD researcher at the “Meaningful Human Control: Between Regulation and Reflexion” project, Paderborn University, unpack the problem of algorithmic bias with reference to AI-based decision support systems (AI DSS). They examine three categories of algorithmic bias – preexisting bias, technical bias, and emergent bias – across four lifecycle stages of an AI DSS, concluding that stakeholders in the ongoing discussion about AI in the military domain should consider the impact of algorithmic bias on AI DSS more seriously.","lang":"eng"}],"date_created":"2024-09-30T11:44:28Z","keyword":["Algorithmic Bias","AI","Decision Support Systems","Autonomous Weapons Systems"],"type":"misc","oa":"1","status":"public","year":"2024","title":"The problem of algorithmic bias in AI-based military decision support systems","author":[{"first_name":"Ishmael","last_name":"Bhila","full_name":"Bhila, Ishmael","id":"105772"},{"first_name":"Ingvild","last_name":"Bode","full_name":"Bode, Ingvild"}],"date_updated":"2024-11-26T09:49:48Z","publication_status":"published","has_accepted_license":"1","main_file_link":[{"open_access":"1","url":"https://blogs.icrc.org/law-and-policy/2024/09/03/the-problem-of-algorithmic-bias-in-ai-based-military-decision-support-systems/"}],"_id":"56282","publisher":"ICRC Humanitarian Law & Policy Blog","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"user_id":"105772"},{"type":"research_data","department":[{"_id":"233"},{"_id":"856"}],"date_created":"2024-12-04T11:23:48Z","abstract":[{"lang":"eng","text":"This is the data set of the project Henze-Digital. Their mission was to present the experiences of \r\nthose who lived through the war in a radically objective, apolitical, and detailed \r\nmanner. The main series, sharing the same title as the channel, focused on military \r\nevents, while another series titled War Against Humanity (WAH) would address \r\nwar crimes, human rights abuses, the mass murder of civilians and prisoners of \r\nwar, Nazi euthanasia crimes, and the Holocaust. This division of the narrative into \r\na military history (main series) and a separate history of war crimes and the Holocaust (side series) raises important questions about the conditions, opportunities, \r\nand limitations that YouTube’s media and economic structures impose on the portrayal of war, mass violence, and genocide. The Human Brain Project (HBP) Education Programme aimed to address the need for interdisciplinary expertise in brain research by equipping a new generation of researchers with skills across neuroscience, medicine, and information technology. Over its ten year duration, the programme engaged over 1,300 experts and attracted more than 5,500 participants from various scientific disciplines in its blended learning curriculum, specialised schools and workshops, and events fostering dialogue among early-career researchers. Key principles of the programme’s approach included fostering interdisciplinarity, adaptability to the evolving research landscape and infrastructure, and a collaborative environment with a focus on empowering early-career researchers. Following the programme’s conclusion, we provide here an analysis and in-depth view across a diverse range of educational formats and events. Our results show that the Education Programme achieved success in its wide geographic reach, the diversity of participants, and the establishment of transversal collaborations. Building on these experiences and achievements, we describe how leveraging digital tools and platforms provides accessible and highly specialised training, which can enhance existing education programmes for the next generation of brain researchers working in decentralised European collaborative spaces. Finally, we present the lessons learnt so that similar initiatives may improve upon our experience and incorporate our suggestions into their own programme.
"}],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"doi":"10.1007/s12021-024-09682-6","title":"Interdisciplinary and Collaborative Training in Neuroscience: Insights from the Human Brain Project Education Programme","year":"2024","publication_identifier":{"issn":["1559-0089"]},"author":[{"full_name":"Geminiani, Alice","first_name":"Alice","last_name":"Geminiani"},{"first_name":"Judith","last_name":"Kathrein","full_name":"Kathrein, Judith"},{"orcid":"0000-0001-8869-215X","first_name":"Alper","last_name":"Yegenoglu","full_name":"Yegenoglu, Alper","id":"117951"},{"first_name":"Franziska","last_name":"Vogel","full_name":"Vogel, Franziska"},{"full_name":"Armendariz, Marcelo","first_name":"Marcelo","last_name":"Armendariz"},{"full_name":"Ben-Zion, Ziv","last_name":"Ben-Zion","first_name":"Ziv"},{"first_name":"Petrut Antoniu","last_name":"Bogdan","full_name":"Bogdan, Petrut Antoniu"},{"last_name":"Covelo","first_name":"Joana","full_name":"Covelo, Joana"},{"full_name":"Diaz Pier, Marissa","first_name":"Marissa","last_name":"Diaz Pier"},{"first_name":"Karin","last_name":"Grasenick","full_name":"Grasenick, Karin"},{"first_name":"Vitali","last_name":"Karasenko","full_name":"Karasenko, Vitali"},{"first_name":"Wouter","last_name":"Klijn","full_name":"Klijn, Wouter"},{"last_name":"Kokan","first_name":"Tina","full_name":"Kokan, Tina"},{"full_name":"Lupascu, Carmen Alina","last_name":"Lupascu","first_name":"Carmen Alina"},{"last_name":"Lührs","first_name":"Anna","full_name":"Lührs, Anna"},{"full_name":"Mahfoud, Tara","last_name":"Mahfoud","first_name":"Tara"},{"first_name":"Taylan","last_name":"Özden","full_name":"Özden, Taylan"},{"last_name":"Pedersen","first_name":"Jens Egholm","full_name":"Pedersen, Jens Egholm"},{"full_name":"Peres, Luca","first_name":"Luca","last_name":"Peres"},{"full_name":"Reiten, Ingrid","last_name":"Reiten","first_name":"Ingrid"},{"full_name":"Simidjievski, Nikola","last_name":"Simidjievski","first_name":"Nikola"},{"full_name":"Ulnicane, Inga","first_name":"Inga","last_name":"Ulnicane"},{"first_name":"Michiel","last_name":"van der Vlag","full_name":"van der Vlag, Michiel"},{"first_name":"Lyuba","last_name":"Zehl","full_name":"Zehl, Lyuba"},{"first_name":"Alois","last_name":"Saria","full_name":"Saria, Alois"},{"first_name":"Sandra","last_name":"Diaz-Pier","full_name":"Diaz-Pier, Sandra"},{"full_name":"Passecker, Johannes","last_name":"Passecker","first_name":"Johannes"}],"publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2025-08-08T11:39:46Z","intvolume":" 22"},{"department":[{"_id":"233"},{"_id":"856"},{"_id":"615"}],"type":"conference","date_created":"2024-06-28T18:17:53Z","abstract":[{"text":"The OPEN Edirom project is developing a digital edition of incidental music for Goethe’s play Faust, representing an innovative initiative within the realm of music philology and MEI/TEI edition. Embracing the \"data first\" principle, OPEN Edirom prioritizes making its content openly accessible, thereby enabling diverse potential uses for researchers and performers. Our aim involves presenting the scholarly text and music edition in its entirety, incorporating its various forms of data, i.e. music, texts, source images, metadata, and annotations, all displayed with Edirom software.\r\nThe piece we edit in this project is Goethe’s renowned play Faust I, as adapted by Carl Seydelmann, along with the corresponding music composed by Peter Joseph von Lindpaintner for the Court Theatre in Stuttgart. The work premiered in 1832.\r\nThis paper delves into the concept of music edition as open data publication and delineates its advantages over analog and hybrid editions in terms of reusability and alignment with the FAIR principles. It also addresses the challenges encountered in data preparation, both specific to incidental music and in general data processing. Furthermore, we propose solutions and recommendations for similar projects based on our insights.","lang":"eng"}],"publication":"Proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Digital Libraries for Musicology","doi":"10.1145/3660570.3660582","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"main_file_link":[{"open_access":"1","url":"https://dl.acm.org/doi/pdf/10.1145/3660570.3660582"}],"date_updated":"2025-09-02T09:11:50Z","publication_status":"published","author":[{"full_name":"Frömmel, Lena","last_name":"Frömmel","first_name":"Lena","orcid":"0009-0009-6539-7081","id":"86796"},{"full_name":"Bachmann, Tobias","last_name":"Bachmann","first_name":"Tobias"},{"id":"102981","full_name":"Plaksin, Anna Viktoria Katrin","last_name":"Plaksin","first_name":"Anna Viktoria Katrin","orcid":"0000-0002-9969-0608"},{"full_name":"Münzmay, Andreas","first_name":"Andreas","orcid":"0000-0002-8373-4055","last_name":"Münzmay","id":"61139"}],"year":"2024","title":"Open Edirom: From hybrid music edition to open data publication","oa":"1","project":[{"_id":"1048","name":"KIO: KreativInstitut.OWL"},{"name":"OPEN Edirom","_id":"1064"}],"quality_controlled":"1","citation":{"ama":"Frömmel L, Bachmann T, Plaksin AVK, Münzmay A. The design and calculation of steel flanges is easy to handle with the help of EN 1591-1 and EN 13555. However, these standards are not suitable in their current form for thermoplastic sealing joints, such as those used in natural gas supply. For this reason, lengthy and cost-intensive tests must currently be carried out to verify tightness and strength. The aim of a doctoral project is to develop a time-efficient and cost-effective analytical calculation method based on the existing standards. For this purpose, the energy-elastic material parameters of the steel must be replaced by elastoplastic material parameters of the thermoplastics and the calculation algorithm adapted accordingly. The problem is to be investigated with the aid of numerical structural simulations (FEM) and experimental tests.\"
"}],"date_created":"2026-03-25T10:49:06Z","department":[{"_id":"9"},{"_id":"321"},{"_id":"367"}],"type":"conference"},{"intvolume":" 11","publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2023-10-06T07:38:40Z","publication_identifier":{"issn":["2079-8954"]},"author":[{"full_name":"Wilke, Daria","last_name":"Wilke","first_name":"Daria"},{"last_name":"Grothe","first_name":"Robin","full_name":"Grothe, Robin"},{"full_name":"Bretz, Lukas","last_name":"Bretz","first_name":"Lukas"},{"full_name":"Anacker, Harald","last_name":"Anacker","first_name":"Harald"},{"id":"16190","full_name":"Dumitrescu, Roman","first_name":"Roman","last_name":"Dumitrescu"}],"title":"Lessons Learned from the Introduction of Systems Engineering","year":"2023","doi":"10.3390/systems11030119","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"article_number":"119","abstract":[{"lang":"eng","text":"
The introduction of Systems Engineering is an approach for dealing with the increasing complexity of products and their associated product development. Several introduction strategies are available in the literature; nevertheless, the introduction of Systems Engineering into practice still poses a great challenge to companies. Many companies have already gained experience in the introduction of Systems Engineering. Therefore, as part of the SE4OWL research project, the need to conduct a study including expert interviews and to collect the experiences of experts was identified. A total of 78 hypotheses were identified from 13 expert interviews concerning the lessons learned. Using exclusion criteria, 52 hypotheses were validated in a subsequent quantitative survey with 112 participants. Of these 52 hypotheses, 40 could be confirmed based on the survey results. Only four hypotheses were rejected, and eight could neither be confirmed nor rejected. Through this research, guidance is provided to companies to leverage best practices for the introduction of their own Systems Engineering and to avoid the poor practices of other companies.
"}],"publication":"Systems","issue":"3","department":[{"_id":"563"}],"type":"journal_article","keyword":["Information Systems and Management","Computer Networks and Communications","Modeling and Simulation","Control and Systems Engineering","Software"],"date_created":"2023-10-06T07:38:11Z","status":"public","volume":11,"user_id":"15782","_id":"47800","publisher":"MDPI AG","citation":{"mla":"Wilke, Daria, et al. “Lessons Learned from the Introduction of Systems Engineering.” <i>Systems</i>, vol. 11, no. 3, 119, MDPI AG, 2023, doi:<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.3390/systems11030119\">10.3390/systems11030119</a>.","bibtex":"@article{Wilke_Grothe_Bretz_Anacker_Dumitrescu_2023, title={Lessons Learned from the Introduction of Systems Engineering}, volume={11}, DOI={<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.3390/systems11030119\">10.3390/systems11030119</a>}, number={3119}, journal={Systems}, publisher={MDPI AG}, author={Wilke, Daria and Grothe, Robin and Bretz, Lukas and Anacker, Harald and Dumitrescu, Roman}, year={2023} }","ama":"Wilke D, Grothe R, Bretz L, Anacker H, Dumitrescu R.
