text: 'Requirement changes are a major cause for project failure. A systematic approach
to manage those changes from the very beginning should be an in-tegral part of
each development project. Although this is accepted in both sci-ence and industry,
there is no adequate approach to tackle the issue, especially in the context of
interdisciplinary systems. In this paper, a secondary analysis is done to identify
all information that is necessary to manage those changes efficiently. The demanded
information is pictured in a reference model and then mapped with the capabilities
of existing approaches. Based on this, research gaps are identified and used to
    guide future research efforts. '

text: The mechanical properties of thin-walled plastic components are limited. One
approach to improve the strength or stiffness of these components is to reinforce
the thin-walled areas with an individually adapted Fused Deposition Modeling structure.
Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is one of the most commonly used additive manufacturing
processes. This process is characterized by the deposition of a fused, thermoplastic
filament. Depending on the form of the reinforcement structure, the resulting
hybrid structure should show higher strength or stiffness. The objective of the
project is to determine constructive design and process guidelines for FDM structures.
The FDM structure is to be used as a partial reinforcement for lightweight components
and be adapted to the respective load conditions. Because of the lightweight application,
the FDM structure should also have the lowest possible weight. The optimization
of the FDM parts for different load cases is realized by adapting the design parameters.
These parameters influence the layer generation and therefore also the inner structure
of the FDM parts. In preliminary studies, the manufacturing restrictions of the
FDM process are defined. The specimens are manufactured based on the Design of
Experiments. To determine the static strength properties, different tests (tensile,
compression, flexural, torsion and impact) are carried out. The investigations
show that the filling strategy affects the mechanical properties. As a result
of the investigations, design and process guidelines for the FDM structures are
established according to the load conditions.

text: "Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential for far-reaching – in our
opinion – irreversible changes.\r\nThey range from effects on the individual and
society to new societal and social issues. The question arises\r\nas to how students
can learn the basic functioning of AI systems, what areas of life and society
are affected\r\nby these and – most important – how their own lives are affected
by these changes. Therefore, we are developing and evaluating school materials
for the German ”Science Year AI”. It can be used for students of all\r\nschool
types from the seventh grade upwards and will be distributed to about 2000 schools
in autumn with\r\nthe support of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
The material deals with the following aspects\r\nof AI: Discussing everyday experiences
with AI, how does machine learning work, historical development\r\nof AI concepts,
difference between man and machine, future distribution of roles between man and
machine,\r\nin which AI world do we want to live and how much AI would we like
to have in our lives. Through an\r\naccompanying evaluation, high quality of the
technical content and didactic preparation is achieved in order\r\nto guarantee
the long-term applicability in the teaching context in the different age groups
and school types.\r\nIn this paper, we describe the current state of the material
development, the challenges arising, and the results\r\nof tests with different
classes to date. We also present first ideas for evaluating the results."

In diesem

text: In pre-service teacher education programs prospective physics teachers should
acquire professional knowledge that enables them to carry out effective instruction.
However, there is little empirical evidence with regard to the development of
professional knowledge in the courses of their studies - it is even unclear what
knowledge has an impact on teaching quality. In order to be able to analyse these
questions, instruments must be developed that permit a valid interpretation of
tests cores. Based on instruments developed in project Profile-P+, this article
presents a validity argument for the interpretation of test scores for the development
of pre-service physics teachers' professional knowledge during a bachelor degree
program. The authors also develop validity arguments for the interpretation of
tests cores for the development of their skills to plan and reflect on physics
lessons and to explain physics during teaching practice. In addition to knowledge
tests, standardized performance tests were used. The results of the analysis suggest
that the measured values can be interpreted in the intended sense. (DIPF/Orig.)

text: CACC systems have been proven to increase road utilization, safety and decrease
fuel consumption by driving with a small headway at freeway speed. Such platooning
systems are usually focused on freeway scenarios and most of the current research
is done for this use case. Especially in urban scenarios at traffic lights and
intersections there is a lot of potential to increase the traffic efficiency and
safety by applying platooning mechanisms. Most of the techniques used on freeways
are not applicable for urban scenarios, as freeways are more or less a multi lane
one-way road. In my PhD project I want to investigate platooning as an application
for urban scenarios. For this I plan to examine platooning for signalized and
non-signalized intersections in a first step, but also consider platoon formation
strategies and driver models for human driven platoons. The end result should
be a set of algorithms and strategies to make urban and rural traffic more efficient
and safer by the use of platooning. Evaluation and analysis will mainly be done
by using simulations, but not limited to that.

text: The Freischütz Digital project (FreiDi) was one of the pioneer projects employing
MEI in large scale. It did not only try to encode a huge quantity of music material,
it also sought to capture as many aspects of the available sources as possible,
effectively creating data of almost unrivaled richness. This paper discusses the
outcomes of and experiences made in the FreiDi project.

text: "There have been numerous studies highlighting the potential of Augmented
Reality (AR) in different educational settings and its impacts on learners in
terms of increased motivation, learning, focus, and more. AR applications are
suitable for use in formal as well as informal learning environments and educational
institutions, starting with art courses in pre-schools or biology, history, chemistry,
physics etc. in secondary schools and universities. Despite the increasing number
of studies, only a few AR applications are based on a suitable didactic principle.
In addition, there is a lack of general studies investigating the learning-promoting
characteristics of AR in the field of preparation and conduction of laboratory
trainings. Current studies merely extend printed learning content with additional
links, videos, or static 3D models or require special prerequisites for using
the AR application.\r\nTherefore, this article examines and focuses on a design
concept for a mobile-based AR application (App) for acquiring and deepening practical
skills in handling laboratory equipment and components. In a previous work, the
possibilities and limitations of AR technology in engineering education, with
a particular focus on laboratory work, were investigated in order to avoid frequent
design mistakes. The didactic concept in this project is based on the constructive
alignment according to Biggs with the definition of the three compulsory steps:
learning objectives (or intended learning outcome), teaching / learning activities
and assessments. The learning objectives were further concretized in the next
step, based on the revised Bloom taxonomy according to Anderson and Krathwohl
to derive and design possible teaching scenarios in AR. "

In diesem

text: In pre-service teacher education programs prospective physics teachers should
acquire professional knowledge that enables them to carry out effective instruction.
(DIPF/Orig.)

text: 'The research and development project Postdigital Popular Music Pedagogy (PPP)
aims at the development of a music pedagogical program oriented towards informal
learning in bands. Using the actor network theory, and thus investigating songwriting
as a sociomaterial process, we present, exemplify, and discuss the results of
the exploration of informal practices. The song as an actor network transforms
through several spaces and phases. The starting point is the socio-technical constellation
in which the events and the maturation of ideas as organisms are made probable.
From there, an iteration of adaptation to musical-aesthetic standards and physical
ability begins: The recording, internal publishing, and rehearsing phases, translate
the idea from the workpiece to the object of dispatch into technical requirements.
This is completed by the publication phase, in which the song idea is presented
as a standardized product in several online and offline contexts. (DIPF/Orig.)'

text: All over the world, firms and governments are increasingly concerned about
the rise in tax complexity. To manage it and develop effective simplification
measures, detailed information on the current drivers of complexity is required.
However, research on this topic is scarce. This is surprising as the latest developments-for
example, those triggered by the BEPS project-have given rise to the conjecture
that complexity drivers may have changed, thus questioning the findings of prior
studies. In this article, we shed light on this issue and provide a global picture
of the current drivers of tax complexity that multinational corporations face
based on a survey of 221 highly experienced tax consultants from 108 countries.
Our results show that prior complexity drivers of the tax code are still important,
with details and changes of tax regulations being the two most important complexity
drivers. We also find evidence for new important complexity drivers emerging from
different areas of the tax framework, such as inconsistent decisions among tax
officers (tax audits) or retroactively applied tax law amendments (tax enactment).
Based on the tax consultants' responses, we develop a concept of tax complexity
that is characterized by two pillars, tax code and tax framework complexity and
illustrates the various aspects that should be considered when assessing the complexity
    of a country's tax system.

text: Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) build mechatronic, variant-rich systems
using components from several suppliers in industry sectors like automation. The
OEMs have to integrate the different components to the overall system based on
a virtual layout. For this purpose, the suppliers provide geometrical information
via the standardized exchange format STEP. Beyond the geometrical information,
the OEMs need additional logical and technical information for the integration
task as well as the variant handling. For that reason, STEP provides an extension
mechanism for extending and tailoring STEP to project-specific needs. However,
extending STEP requires extending several capabilities of all involved tools,
which prevents the project-specific utilization of the STEP extensions mechanism.
In order to cope with this problem, we presented in previous work a model-driven
approach enabling the flexible specification of STEP extensions and particularly
the automatic derivation of the required capability extensions for two involved
tools. Nevertheless, the OEMs still need to apply several engineering tools from
different domains to consider logical as well as geometrical constraints between
product variants. In this paper, we hence combine our previous approach with extended
feature models that consider conventional logical and particularly geometrical
information, thereby enabling a holistic product line engineering for mechatronic
systems. By means of an automation production system example, we illustrate how
OEMs can orchestrate their overall supply and development processes through the
    combination of both approaches.

text: Theimplementation of additive manufacturing as an industrial manufacturing
process poses extraordinary challenges to companies due to their far-reaching
differences to conventional processes. In addition to the major differences in
the production process, the pre and post process steps in particular also require
a rethinking for companies and their employees. To overcome these challenges and
specifically to assist SMEs in the integration of technologies five industrial
companies are researching together within research project "OptiAMix", funded
by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and coordinated
by the Paderborn University. This paper focuses on the development of an optimal
and standardized process chain and its implementation in a general integration
methodology. This enables the standardized integration of additivemanufacturing
in order to create a uniform understanding of the procedures and tasks within
the company for the industrial application of additive manufacturing at an early
stage as well as the full exploitation of its high potentials. Therefore, the
methodology also includes other technology-specific components such as strategic
component selection, decision support for "make or buy" and the implementation
    of automated component marking.

text: This paper presents the various sources of uncertainty we encounter in our
project. Our research focus lies on the investigation of language elaboration
processes in Middle Low German. We are particularly interested in diachronic constructional
changes and constructionalizations involving and affecting all linguistic dimensions.
For this, it is necessary to annotate our corpus with Part-of-Speech and constructional
tags. Here, we are confronted with gradualness, gradience, and ambiguity as potential
sources of uncertainty that complicate the annotation process. Furthermore, due
to the historicity of the investigated language, we expect cases of incomplete
knowledge and comparative fallacy from the annotators. For this reason, we develop
an interface that captures all annotators’ doubts.

text: "A key challenge of network function virtualization\r\n(NFV) is the complexity
of developing and deploying new\r\nnetwork services. Currently, development requires
    many manual\r\nsteps that are time-consuming and error-prone (e.g., for creating\r\nservice
descriptors). Furthermore, existing management and\r\norchestration (MANO) platforms
only offer limited support of\r\nstandardized descriptor models or package formats,
limiting the\r\nre-usability of network services.\r\n\r\nTo this end, we introduce
a fully integrated, open-source\r\nNFV service development kit (SDK) with multi-MANO
platform\r\nsupport. Our SDK simplifies many NFV service development\r\nsteps
by offering initial generation of descriptors, advanced\r\nproject management,
as well as fully automated packaging and\r\nsubmission for on-boarding. To achieve
multi-platform support,\r\nwe present a package format that extends ETSI’s VNF
package\r\nformat. In this demonstration, we present the end-to-end workflow\r\nto
develop an NFV service that is then packaged for multiple\r\nplatforms, i.e.,
    5GTANGO and OSM."
