text: In many branches in the designengineerdepartment, product designs are just
variations of existing parts. To bring the additive manufacturing technology closer
to the Designer, it is necessary to show them which of their existing, conventionally
manufactured parts can be produced with this technology. Apartselection methodology
supportsdesigners in the decision whether a part is suitable for additive manufacturingor
not. Due to the potential of the technology, which was especially seen in the
aerospace industries, many criteria of the methodology were initially adapted
for this industry. Furthermore the methodology is based on a quantified weighting
system, which comes to a certain subjectivity. For future use, a development towards
a less subjective methodology should be accomplished. Through a more detailed
adaption for individual industries and a simplification of the input mode, the
objectivity of the criteria can be increased. Likewise, the input time can be
reduced by simplifying the questioning. A more efficient part selection will be
achieved by a better weighting system. In the BMBF project “OptiAMix” this methodology
is supposed to be further developed for highly different branches. By a better
weighting system, the part selection will be more efficient. Therefore, the willingness
for the use of the improved selection andfor the additive manufacturing technology
    will be increased.

text: In conventional manufacturing, ramp-up-management describes the planning and
organization of the period between finished product development and the achievement
of full production capacity for defined products. This classification has to be
adapted and restructured by means of product independent and tool-free production
in additive manufacturing. Therefore ramp-up-management already starts with decisions
on the extentof the use of additive manufacturing, includes the building of technology-know-how
as well as the technology integration into processes and infrastructure of the
company and ends with the attainment of a sufficient process reliability for the
AM-machine. This paper focuses on technology integration in processes and infrastructure,
which is part of the German research project OptiAMix. In this project, new systems
for process state analysis adapted to additive manufacturing and methods for the
optimal integration of additive manufacturing are developed. Furthermore ways
of using the synergies of existing infrastructures and new innovative production
    technologies are determined.

text: "\t\r\nEducational research is often conducted in practical contexts such
as schools or higher education institutions and aims to contribute to the development
of instructional designs or programs. Consequently, there have been repeated attempts
to methodologically integrate the design aspect into educational research leading
to concepts such as design-based research. Ideally, design decisions are based
on clear evidence, obtained through an analysis of data gathered from the intervention.
In actual projects, however, design decisions often have to be taken based on
data that is incomplete, ambiguous or not meeting established scientific quality
standards. We illustrate and discuss examples of an actual design research project
where design decisions had to be taken in such ‘bad data’ contexts. Examples include
different mixed methods configurations that helped to increase the interpretability
and practical significance of the data. We will discuss methodological variants
of ‘mixing’ and triangulation such as combining quantitative and qualitative data
or applying different analyses on a dataset. In addition, we discuss limitations
regarding the consistency between data, design decisions, and resulting effects"

text: Bridging the gap between informal, imprecise, and vague user requirements
descriptions and precise formalized specifications is the main task of requirements
engineering. Techniques such as interviews or story telling are used when requirements
engineers try to identify a user's needs. The requirements specification process
is typically done in a dialogue between users, domain experts, and requirements
engineers. In our research, we aim at automating the specification of requirements.
The idea is to distinguish between untrained users and trained users, and to exploit
domain knowledge learned from previous runs of our system. We let untrained users
provide unstructured natural language descriptions, while we allow trained users
to provide examples of behavioral descriptions. In both cases, our goal is to
synthesize formal requirements models similar to statecharts. From requirements
specification processes with trained users, behavioral ontologies are learned
which are later used to support the requirements specification process for untrained
users. Our research method is original in combining natural language processing
and search-based techniques for the synthesis of requirements specifications.
Our work is embedded in a larger project that aims at automating the whole software
development and deployment process in envisioned future software service markets.

text: This paper studies the impact of personal and corporate income taxation on
capital charge rates in a delegation setting with a risk-averse manager. If the
investment level influences the riskiness of the investment project, the capital
charge rate deviates from the firm's cost of capital and depends crucially on
the manager's personal income tax rate. Contradicting conventional wisdom, we
find that a higher personal income tax rate induces higher investment expenditures
and, surprisingly, increases the capital charge rate. The countervailing effect
that a higher capital charge rate induces higher and not lower investment expenditures
persists for pre-tax and after-tax performance measures as well as when the tax
deductibility of managerial compensation is limited. Corporate income tax causes
a similar effect only in the case of limited tax deductibility of compensation.
Our insights remain valid regardless of the financing structure and the risk attitude
    of the investors.

  text:
We investigated the effect of fluorinated molecules on dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine
(DPPC) bilayers by force-field molecular dynamics simulations. In the first step,
we developed all-atom force-field parameters for additive molecules in membranes
to enable an accurate description of those systems. On the basis of this force
field, we performed extensive simulations of various bilayer systems containing
different additives. The additive molecules were chosen to be of different size
and shape, and they included small molecules such as perfluorinated alcohols,
but also more complex molecules. From these simulations, we investigated the structural
and dynamic effects of the additives on the membrane properties, as well as the
behavior of the additive molecules themselves. Our results are in good agreement
with other theoretical and experimental studies, and they contribute to a microscopic
understanding of interactions, which might be used to specifically tune membrane
properties by additives in the future.

text: 'Established research on islamophobia like the Group-focused Enmity project
of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict and Violence combines
attitude measures directed against Islam as a religion and Muslims as individuals
in a single measure, as both is defined as islamophobia. The current research
raises the question whether it is worthwhile to establish a more profound perspective
and to distinguish between prejudices directed against Muslims as persons, and
against Islam as religion. According to Social Identity Theory, the category’s
salience depends on specific contexts. Consequently, for some respondents the
religious affiliation might not be salient and Muslims are perceived as individuals,
independent from Islam, whereas others do not distinguish between the two. Devaluation
of Islam might therefore not necessarily include devaluation of Muslims. This
study analyses a sample of 29 respondents in Bielefeld, a mediumsized city in
western Germany, using quantitative methods to test whether the devaluation of
Islam and Muslims are two different phenomena, and whether specific conditions
(education, contact, elf-reported religiousness, general criticism of religion,
national identity) have an impact on the perception of the evaluation of Islam
as a religion and Muslims as individuals. An explorative factor analysis reveals
two latent factors that distinguish between hostile statements on Muslims and
on Islam. In addition, the variable “general criticism on eligion” is highly interesting,
as it seems to increase the devaluation of Islam and at the same time has a negative,
prejudice reducing effect on the devaluation of Muslims. All in all, there is
theoretical as well as empirical evidence for a ifferentiation between Muslims
as individuals and Islam as religion. Accordingly, future research should pay
attention to he correct terminology and specify more carefully: devaluation of
    Islam vs. devaluation of Muslims.'

text: The Service Programming and Orchestration for Virtualised Software Networks
(SONATA) project targets both the flexible programmability of software networks
and the optimisation of their deployments by means of integrating Development
and Operations in order to accelerate industry adoption of software networks and
reduce time-to-market for networked services. SONATA supports network function
chaining and orchestration, making service platforms modular and easier to customise
to the needs of different service providers, and introduces a specialised Development
and Operations model for supporting developers.
