@article{2512, abstract = {{In this paper we introduce the concept of an overall power function that is meant to combine two sources of a party’s power in a parliament. The first source is based on the possibilities for the party to be part of a majority coalition and it is typically modeled using a cooperative simple game. The second source takes into account parties’ asymmetries outside the cooperative game and it is displayed by a vector of exogenously given weights. We adopt a normative point of view and provide an axiomatic characterization of a specific overall power function, in which the weights enter in a proportional fashion.}}, author = {{Dimitrov, Dinko and Haake, Claus-Jochen}}, issn = {{1742-7355}}, journal = {{International Journal of Economic Theory}}, number = {{2}}, pages = {{189--200}}, publisher = {{Wiley-Blackwell}}, title = {{{Proportionality and the power of unequal parties}}}, doi = {{10.1111/j.1742-7363.2011.00158.x}}, volume = {{7}}, year = {{2011}}, } @article{2953, author = {{Gries, Thomas and Naudé, Wim}}, journal = {{Journal of Public Economics}}, number = {{3-4}}, pages = {{216 -- 224}}, title = {{{Entrepreneurship and human development - A capability approach}}}, doi = {{10.1016/j.jpubeco.2010.11.008}}, volume = {{95}}, year = {{2011}}, } @article{2954, author = {{Gries, Thomas and Naudé, Wim}}, journal = {{Entrepreneurship Research Journal}}, number = {{3}}, title = {{{Entrepreneurship, Structural Change and a Global Economic Crisis}}}, doi = {{10.2202/2157-5665.1029}}, volume = {{1}}, year = {{2011}}, } @article{2955, author = {{Gries, Thomas and Wieneke, Axel}}, journal = {{Journal of Comparative Economics}}, number = {{2}}, pages = {{221 -- 229}}, title = {{{SME performance in transition economies: The financial regulation and firm level corruption nexus}}}, doi = {{10.1016/j.jce.2010.09.001}}, volume = {{39}}, year = {{2011}}, } @article{3052, author = {{Gries, Thomas and Gravemeyer, Stefan and Xue, Jinjun}}, journal = {{Urban Studies}}, number = {{7}}, pages = {{1457--1475}}, title = {{{Income Determination and Income Discrimination in Shenzhen}}}, doi = {{10.1177/0042098010375317}}, volume = {{48}}, year = {{2011}}, } @article{3053, author = {{Gries, Thomas and Kraft, Manfred and Meierrieks, Daniel}}, journal = {{Applied Economics}}, number = {{30}}, pages = {{4729 -- 4739}}, title = {{{Financial Deepening, Trade Openness and Economic Growth in Latin America and the Caribbean}}}, doi = {{10.1080/00036846.2010.498352}}, volume = {{43}}, year = {{2011}}, } @article{3054, author = {{Gries, Thomas and Krieger, Tim and Meierrieks, Daniel}}, journal = {{Defence and Peace Economics}}, number = {{5}}, pages = {{493 -- 508}}, title = {{{Causal Linkages Between Domestic Terrorism and Economic Growth}}}, doi = {{10.1080/10242694.2010.532943}}, volume = {{22}}, year = {{2011}}, } @article{3058, author = {{Gries, Thomas and Kraft, Manfred and Piek, Christina}}, journal = {{The Annals of Regional Science}}, number = {{3}}, pages = {{707--732}}, title = {{{Interregional Migration, Self-selection and the Returns to Education in Brazil}}}, doi = {{10.1007/s00168-009-0344-1}}, volume = {{46}}, year = {{2011}}, } @article{4157, author = {{Hehenkamp, Burkhard and Kaarboe, Oddvar}}, issn = {{0313-5926}}, journal = {{Economic Analysis and Policy}}, number = {{1}}, pages = {{49--70}}, publisher = {{Elsevier BV}}, title = {{{Paying for Performance in Hospitals}}}, doi = {{10.1016/s0313-5926(11)50004-9}}, volume = {{41}}, year = {{2011}}, } @article{3076, author = {{Schmitz, Hendrik and Wübker, Ansgar}}, journal = {{Health Economics}}, number = {{11}}, pages = {{1281--1297}}, title = {{{What determines influenza vaccination take-up of elderly Europeans?}}}, doi = {{10.1002/hec.1672}}, volume = {{20}}, year = {{2011}}, } @article{3077, author = {{Schmitz, Hendrik}}, journal = {{Economics Letters}}, number = {{2}}, pages = {{180--182}}, title = {{{Direct evidence of risk aversion as a source of advantageous selection in health insurance}}}, doi = {{10.1016/j.econlet.2011.06.016}}, volume = {{113}}, year = {{2011}}, } @article{3078, author = {{Schmitz, Hendrik}}, journal = {{Labour Economics}}, number = {{1}}, pages = {{71--78}}, title = {{{Why are the unemployed in worse health?
