Weitere Ergebnisse werden in dem Vortrag diskutiert."}],"citation":{"apa":"Gruchel, N., Kurock, R., & Buhl, H. M. Nevertheless, this use still occurs predominantly in the family context. Parents’ support of their children’s internet use can motivate them to use the internet for information-related purposes. However, while parents’ support seems to be important, the quantity and quality of parental support have been shown to have different associations with children’s motivation. Thus, the goal of the current study was to examine the relationship between parents’ support (quantity and quality), children’s motivation to engage in information-related internet use, and children’s actual information-related internet use (practical and school- or learning-related use) using structural equation modeling. In addition, we examined the mediating effects of children’s motivation. Specifically, 492 12-year-old German children answered a paper-and-pencil questionnaire. We found positive associations between the quantity and quality of parents’ support and children’s intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, while only structure-giving support was found to be related to children’s intrinsic motivation. The quantity of support was directly related to children’s school- or learning-related use, while intrinsic motivation was associated with both forms of information-related internet use. Furthermore, we confirmed that children’s motivation is an important mediator in this context. The implications of these findings for parents and children are considered."}],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"_id":"55271","main_file_link":[{"url":"https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/02568543.2024.2376099"}],"user_id":"38556","ddc":["150"],"author":[{"full_name":"Gruchel, Nicole","last_name":"Gruchel","first_name":"Nicole","id":"38556"},{"id":"78797","last_name":"Kurock","first_name":"Ricarda","full_name":"Kurock, Ricarda"},{"full_name":"Bonanati, Sabrina ","first_name":"Sabrina ","last_name":"Bonanati"},{"id":"27152","last_name":"Buhl","first_name":"Heike M.","full_name":"Buhl, Heike M."}],"title":"Children’s Information-Related Internet Use at Home: The Role of the Quantity and Quality of Parental Support and Children’s Motivation","year":"2024","status":"public","article_type":"original","date_updated":"2026-01-22T08:21:34Z"},{"year":"2024","status":"public","title":"In/visibilities in Data Studies: Methods, Tools, and Interventions","publication_identifier":{"isbn":["978-1-5292-3832-7"]},"author":[{"full_name":"Fahimi, Miriam","last_name":"Fahimi","orcid":"0000-0002-0619-3160","first_name":"Miriam","id":"118059"},{"first_name":"Petter","last_name":"Falk","full_name":"Falk, Petter"},{"last_name":"Gray","first_name":"Jonathan W. It examines the acts of rendering data visible and the inherent power dynamics and imbalances that accompany such processes. Our dialogue unfolds in three interconnected parts, each focusing on the intersection of in/visibility and power. Part 1 attends to the challenges of producing knowledge about and with data, emphasizing the relativity, fluidity, and instability inherent in data. It explores frameworks that uncover the often invisible infrastructures of algorithms, rendering visible the actors, technologies, and divergent values involved in data manipulation. Part 2 presents empirical case studies that analyse the consequences of data visibility while contemplating the methodological opportunities and challenges of foregrounding the embedded values and norms within data. Part 3 discusses tool-based interventions aimed at bringing alternative data framings and narratives to the fore. It examines the complexities of tracing data across various contexts and the value, utility, and obstacles associated with creating visual representations of data and their flows. By critically engaging with the complexities of data in/visibility, this chapter challenges existing gatekeepers and fosters a deeper understanding of the multifaceted nature of data and its socio-political ramifications.","lang":"eng"}],"date_created":"2025-11-18T09:58:30Z","type":"book_chapter","department":[{"_id":"756"},{"_id":"26"}]},{"page":"309–330","_id":"62230","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"publisher":"Amsterdam University Press","user_id":"118059","editor":[{"full_name":"Jarke, Juliane","last_name":"Jarke","first_name":"Juliane"},{"full_name":"Prietl, Bianca","last_name":"Prietl","first_name":"Bianca"},{"full_name":"Egbert, Simon","first_name":"Simon","last_name":"Egbert"},{"full_name":"Boeva, Yana","first_name":"Yana","last_name":"Boeva"},{"first_name":"Hendrik","last_name":"Heuer","full_name":"Heuer, Hendrik"},{"full_name":"Arnold, Maike","last_name":"Arnold","first_name":"Maike"}],"status":"public","year":"2024","title":"Making Algorithms Fair: Ethnographic Insights from Machine Learning Interventions","publication_identifier":{"isbn":["978-94-6372-848-5"]},"author":[{"full_name":"Kinder-Kurlanda, Katharina","last_name":"Kinder-Kurlanda","first_name":"Katharina"},{"id":"118059","last_name":"Fahimi","first_name":"Miriam","orcid":"0000-0002-0619-3160","full_name":"Fahimi, Miriam"}],"date_updated":"2025-11-18T10:02:25Z","date_created":"2025-11-18T10:00:38Z","place":"Amsterdam","type":"book_chapter","department":[{"_id":"756"},{"_id":"26"}],"publication":"Algorithmic Regimes. In this book, scholars from the social sciences, humanities, and computer science argue that this shift has, and will continue to have, profound implications for how knowledge is produced and what and whose knowledge is valued and deemed valid. To attend to this fundamental change, the authors propose the concept of algorithmic regimes and demonstrate how they transform the epistemological, methodological, and political foundations of knowledge production, sensemaking, and decision-making in contemporary societies. Across sixteen chapters, the volume offers a diverse collection of contributions along three perspectives on algorithmic regimes: the methods necessary to research and design algorithmic regimes, the ways in which algorithmic regimes reconfigure sociotechnical interactions, and the politics engrained in algorithmic regimes."}]},{"date_updated":"2026-01-07T12:46:18Z","publication_status":"published","status":"public","year":"2024","title":"Anthropological Dimension of Wartime Ecocide: Ecofeminist Methodological Assessments","author":[{"first_name":"Kateryna I.","last_name":"Karpenko","full_name":"Karpenko, Kateryna I."},{"orcid":"https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3360-6335","first_name":"Ruth Edith","last_name":"Hagengruber","full_name":"Hagengruber, Ruth Edith","id":"198"},{"full_name":"Nielsen, Cynthia R.","last_name":"Nielsen","first_name":"Cynthia R."}],"publication_identifier":{"issn":["2304-9685","2227-7242"]},"doi":"10.15802/ampr.v0i25.307636","user_id":"91827","page":"84-99","_id":"60736","publisher":"Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"abstract":[{"text":"The authors aim to disclose the anthropological dimension of ecocide during and after Russia’s war against Ukraine, relying on the multidisciplinary practices and intellectual production of ecofeminist women thinkers, including philosophers, sociologists, historians, psychologists, and others. The theoretical basis methodological approaches in philosophical anthropology, phenomenology, analytical philosophy, communicative philosophy, existentialism, ethics of justice, and ethics of care determine the study’s theoretical basis. Originality. For the first time, a systematic analysis of the anthropological dimension of ecocide has been carried out based on ecofeminist methodology. The specifics of the Ukrainian resistance to ecocide were revealed as part of a single struggle – an anti-imperial and ecological struggle for independence and prosperity. It is emphasized that during the war, the opposition to ecocide is a component of the fight for national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country, and therefore, the ideas of pacifism in this period are subordinated to this primary goal. After the war, preventing threats of ecocide should become an integral part of the struggle for stable peace and prosperity. Ecofeminist pacifist perspectives should be a priority among the most essential goals for that period. Conclusions. Ecofeminist methodological assessments offer valuable insights into the anthropological dimension of ecocide in wartime and post-war contexts, highlighting the complex interplay between gender, violence, and environmental destruction. By focusing on the experiences and perspectives of women and marginalized communities, ecofeminist analyses contribute to a more holistic understanding of ecocide and its impacts on both human populations and ecosystems.","lang":"eng"}],"issue":"25","publication":"Anthropological Measurements of Philosophical Research","citation":{"short":"K.I. Many of the philosophers in this collection were celebrities in their own time. What can we gain from rediscovering the knowledge of women philosophers? Philosophy reflects the foundations on which we organise our world. There is no doubt that women create structures that shape our world. Over the centuries, women thinkers have formulated ideas and concepts to explain our world and to call for its reorganisation. This collection offers a selection of these ideas and concepts from over 2000 years. The new history of philosophy emerges in this way. It provides the basis for teaching and future research. However, in certain contexts, repeating negations undergo adaptation, which over time mitigates the effort.\r\nHere, we ask negations hamper visual processing and whether consecutive repetitions mitigate its influence. \r\nWe assessed the overall attentional capacity and its distribution, the relative weight, quantitatively using \r\nthe formal Theory of Visual Attention (TVA).\r\nWe employed a very simple form for negations, binary negations. Negated instructions, expressing the only alternative to the core supposition, were cognitively demanding, resulting in a loss of attentional capacity in three experiments. The overall attentional capacity recovered gradually but stagnated at a lower level than with assertions, even after many repetitions. Additionally, negations distributed the attention equally between target and reference stimulus. Repetitions slightly increased the reference' share of attention. Assertions, on the other hand, shifted the attentional weight towards the target. Few repetitions slightly decreased the bias towards the target, many repetitions increased the bias.","lang":"eng"}],"date_created":"2024-03-27T12:16:33Z","type":"journal_article","department":[{"_id":"424"},{"_id":"660"}],"title":"Benefiting from Binary Negations?
