  text: <jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>The value of models is well recognised
    in product and systems engineering. Modelling languages and diagrams are used
    to capture mental models and to handle model complexity. Literature research indicates
    that there are only very few approaches to utilise the potential of virtual and
    augmented reality for supporting tasks in model based (systems) engineering. The
    paper at hand contributes a new morphology of intuitive interaction for Immersive
    Abstraction as a holistic approach to extend that coverage. It presents a holistic
    framework to categorise solutions and future research directions.</jats:p>

  text: <jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Hip joint arthroplasty is considered
    to be a safe, successful and cost-effective procedure to restore hip joint functionality.
    However, a successful hip joint arthroplasty affects different stakeholders e.g.
    patient and surgeon and depends on various influencing factors within the product
    life cycle as well as the applied technological opportunities. Due to the complex
    dependencies between influencing factors, technological opportunities and stakeholders,
    this contribution introduces an IPD-based approach to improve the quality of total
    hip arthroplasties.</jats:p>

  text: <jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>As time-to-market is getting shorter,
    customer needs have to be identified as early as possible in product development.
    Correctly applied, corporate foresight can give a glimpse into the future to anticipate
    such needs and thus gain a competitive advantage. A support tool to choose the
    appropriate method of foresight is not available yet. Thus, a literature study
    on foresight methods in industry is performed and a novel decision support tool
    is proposed which avoids high entrepreneurial risks. Based on the findings, potentials
    for future work are identified for different types of methods.</jats:p>

  text: 'Faults in the realization and usage of cyber-physical systems can cause significant
    security issues. Attackers might exploit vulnerabilities in the physical configurations,
    control systems, or accessibility through internet connections. For CPS, two challenges
    are combined: Firstly, discipline-specific security measures should be applied.
    Secondly, new measures have to be created to cover interdisciplinary impacts.
    For instance, faulty software configurations in cyber-physical production systems
    (CPPS) might allow attackers to manipulate the correct control of production processes
    impacting the quality of end products. From liability and publicity perspective,
    a worst-case scenario is that such a corrupted product is delivered to a customer.
    In this context, security-oriented fault-tolerance in Systems Engineering (SE)
    requires measures to evaluate interdisciplinary system designs with regard to
    potential scenarios of attacks. The paper at hand contributes a conceptual threat
    modelling approach to cover potential attack scenarios. The approach can be used
    to derive both system-level and discipline-specific security solutions. As an
    application case, issues are focused on which attackers intend to exploit vulnerabilities
    in a CPPS. The goal is to support systems engineers in verification and validation
    tasks regarding security-oriented fault-tolerance.'

    Kundenanforderungen setzen immer mehr Unternehmen auf die Vorteile global verteilter
    Entwicklungsnetzwerke. Die Verfügbarkeit neuer Technologien zur Unterstützung
    der standortverteilten Produktentwicklung treibt diese Entwicklung zusätzlich
    voran. Gepaart mit dem zunehmenden Auftreten agiler Ansätze führen die organisationalen
    Veränderungen zur steigenden Komplexität des Entwicklungsprozesses und fordern
    methodische Unterstützung. Die Vielzahl der verfügbaren Methoden sind jedoch bisher
    nur größtenteils auf die standortgebundene Anwendung ausgelegt. Der vorliegende
    Beitrag widmet sich daher der Erstellung eines Modells zur systematischen Unterstützung
    standortverteilter Methodenanwendung durch die Nutzung von Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien.

  text: Today, many companies are facing a continually growing global competition,
    increasing individual requirements and a demand for shorter development times.
    In order to deal with these challenges, they respond with an increasing number
    of product variants, which are managed through variants management methods like
    modularization. Manufacturers of mobility solutions are also facing higher demands
    regarding environmental protection and sustainability. Therefore, energy consumption
    plays a key role in current considerations of mobility solutions and the whole
    life cycle of a product is considered for controlling and cost calculation. Lightweight
    design plays a major role for achieving objectives regarding a reduced energy
    consumption and fulfilling a high functionality of mobility solutions. Modular
    lightweight design combines the advantages of modularization and lightweight design
    to enable a modular product with the lowest possible weight. The combination of
    both methods enables the usage of a cost-efficient lightweight design approach.
    The presented work will give an overview over the economic aspects and discusses
    how to utilize the combination of both aspects in a profitable way. The emphasis
    lies on enabling a cost-efficient design to exploit the potentials of modular
    lightweight design. The estimation of the profitability is especially important
    for development decisions in an early phase of product development. It also serves
    to justify the implementation efforts of an elaborate modular lightweight design
    approach. Subject of this paper is the development of a model in order to estimate
    the life cycle costs of modular lightweight products in an early product development
    stage.
