  abstract     = {{Adopting Large language models (LLMs) in organizations potentially revolutionizes our lives and work. However, they can generate off-topic, discriminating, or harmful content. This AI alignment problem often stems from misspecifications during the LLM adoption, unnoticed by the principal due to the LLM’s black-box nature. While various research disciplines investigated AI alignment, they neither address the information asymmetries between organizational adopters and black-box LLM agents nor consider organizational AI adoption processes. Therefore, we propose LLM ATLAS (LLM Agency Theory-Led Alignment Strategy) a conceptual framework grounded in agency (contract) theory, to mitigate alignment problems during organizational LLM adoption. We conduct a conceptual literature analysis using the organizational LLM adoption phases and the agency theory as concepts. Our approach results in (1) providing an extended literature analysis process specific to AI alignment methods during organizational LLM adoption and (2) providing a first LLM alignment problem-solutionspace.}},

  abstract     = {{Excellent Information Systems (IS) bachelor or master student theses have the potential to inform the
scientific community about interesting findings about IS phenomena. However, transforming such
theses into scientific working papers is not only time-consuming for the student and the supervisor, but
also purely voluntary. Part of the problem is that few IS faculties offer any structured course for the
transformation process as part of their curriculum. This significantly reduces the proportion of
outstanding theses that are developed into working papers and, ultimately, into publications, resulting
in a loss of knowledge for the broader IS community. To address this structural deficit, we aim to
develop and implement a credit course and open educational resources (e.g., course schedule, slides,
videos) that support students in developing their theses into publishable scientific research papers. This
approach not only enriches the scientific discourse but also presents a research-oriented educational
disruption for the IS community.}},

  abstract     = {{<jats:p> Home delivery failures, traffic congestion, and relatively large handling times have a negative impact on the profitability of last-mile logistics. A potential solution is the delivery to parcel lockers or parcel shops, denoted by out-of-home (OOH) delivery. In the academic literature, models for OOH delivery are so far limited to static settings, contrasting with the sequential nature of the problem. We model the sequential decision-making problem of which OOH location to offer against what incentive for each incoming customer, taking into account future customer arrivals and choices. We propose dynamic selection and pricing of OOH (DSPO), an algorithmic pipeline that uses a novel spatial-temporal state encoding as input to a convolutional neural network. We demonstrate the performance of our method by benchmarking it against two state-of-the-art approaches. Our extensive numerical study, guided by real-world data, reveals that DSPO can save 19.9 percentage points (%pt) in costs compared with a situation without OOH locations, 7%pt compared with a static selection and pricing policy, and 3.8%pt compared with a state-of-the-art demand management benchmark. We provide comprehensive insights into the complex interplay between OOH delivery dynamics and customer behavior influenced by pricing strategies.
