Following recent works (Faulwasser in Math Control Signals Syst 34:759–788 2022; Trélat in Math Control Signals Syst 35:685–739 2023), which generalized the classical concept of <jats:italic>static turnpike to manifold turnpike</jats:italic> we extend the <jats:italic>exponential turnpike property</jats:italic> to the <jats:italic>exponential trim turnpike</jats:italic> for control systems with symmetries induced by abelian or non-abelian groups. Our analysis is mainly based on the geometric reduction of control systems with symmetries. More concretely, we first reduce the control system on the quotient space and state the turnpike theorem for the reduced problem. Then we use the group properties to obtain the <jats:italic>trim turnpike theorem</jats:italic> for the full problem. Conventionally, the input DC-link voltage is controlled to operate the LLC converter at resonance for the given operating point. However, the DC-link capacitor voltage shows a low-frequency voltage ripple (typically the second harmonic of grid frequency) in cascaded converters so that the LLC has to adapt its switching frequency within the grid period. Conventionally, the LLC converter operates 50% of the time above the resonant frequency of 40 kHz and 50% below resonance. Both operating conditions cause additional losses. However, experimental measurements indicate that the below-resonance operation causes significantly higher losses than above-resonance operation due to much higher primary and secondary transformer currents. It is better to increase the DC-link voltage by 30% of the peak-to-peak low-frequency voltage ripple to mostly avoid below-resonance operation (i.e., from 650 V to 680 V in this case). With the proposed control, the LLC converter operates about 75% of time over resonance and only 25% of time below resonance. The overall efficiency increases from 97.66% to 97.7% for the average operating point with an 80% load current. This corresponds to a 2% total loss reduction. It is a discrete-time process in which uninformed actors incrementally receive information from their informed neighbors or from the outside. Our goal is to minimize the number of confused actors — that is, the number of actors who receive contradictory information. We prove upper bounds for the number of confused actors in signed networks and in equivalence classes of signed networks. In particular, we show that there are signed networks where, for any information placement strategy, almost 60% of the actors are confused. Measurement results for the elastic material parameters are acquired non-destructively using ultrasonic transmission measurements of hollow cylindrical polymer specimens. To determine the material parameters, an inverse approach is used comparing measurements with simulated data. Previous studies show that the procedure exhibits low sensitivity with respect to the shear parameters of the material. In order to increase the sensitivity, we propose to apply a spatially annular excitation on the base of the specimen. As a measure to analyse the sensitivities with respect to all parameters and their linear independence, we observe the volume of the parallelotope of the sensitivity vectors. Here, a scaled boundary finite element formulation of wave propagation in the specimen is expanded to yield derivative information directly, and a sensitivity analysis can be carried out efficiently. With the notable increase in research on emotions in recent years, our review uses Pekrun’s control-value theory with two primary objectives: to systematically describe the characteristics of emotions in recent research through a systematic review, and to synthesize evidence on the relationships between specific emotions, control-value antecedents, and mathematics achievement via a meta-analysis. The systematic review of 112 studies revealed that more than 100 specific emotions have been addressed in recent research, which we analyzed based on key emotion characteristics: valence and activation, type of object, temporal stability, and social context. The findings from the systematic review provide an overview of mathematics-specific objects that emotions have referred to in the most recent research. While censors analyze the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol to block encrypted HTTP traffic, censorship circumvention efforts have primarily focused on other protocols such as TCP. In this paper, we hypothesize that the TLS protocol offers previously unseen opportunities for censorship circumvention techniques. We tested our hypothesis by proposing possible censorship circumvention techniques that act on the TLS protocol. To validate the effectiveness of these techniques, we evaluate their acceptance by popular TLS servers and successfully demonstrate that these techniques can circumvent censors in China and Iran. In our evaluations, we discovered 38—partially standard-compliant—distinct censorship circumvention techniques, which we could group into 11 unique categories. Additionally, we provide novel insights into how China censors TLS traffic by presenting evidence of at least three distinct censorship appliances. We suspect that other parts of China’s censorship apparatus and other censors exhibit similar structures and advocate future censorship research to anticipate them. Vor diesem Hintergrund ist es wichtig, die numerischen Kompetenzen bereits im Kindergartenalter zu erfassen, um Kinder, denen wichtige Kompetenzen für die mathematische Entwicklung fehlen, und für die das Risiko der Entwicklung von Rechenschwierigkeiten besteht, frühzeitig und praxistauglich zu identifizieren. In der Studie wird ein Screening zur Erfassung der numerischen Kompetenzen im Kindergartenalter präsentiert, bei dem ausgewählte Aufgaben in einem Gruppensetting durchgeführt werden können. An der Validierung nahmen Kinder im Alter von vier bis sechs Jahren aus der Schweiz ( n = 431) und aus Deutschland ( n = 325) teil. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass mit dem Screening in verschiedenen Gruppen (Schweiz, Deutschland) mit wenigen Ausnahmen dieselben Eigenschaften gemessen werden. Die prognostische Validität für den Zeitpunkt kurz vor Schuleintritt ist zufriedenstellend. Der Testwert auf Basis des Gruppensettings lässt sich valide interpretieren, da sich keine Unterschiede zwischen Kindern, die die Aufgaben einzeln gelöst haben und Kindern, die die Aufgaben in Gruppen bearbeitet haben, gezeigt haben.
