    education has moved beyond the traditional focus on the transition from secondary
    to tertiary education and students'' understanding of introductory courses such
    as pre-calculus and calculus. There is growing interest in the challenges students
    face as they move into more advanced mathematics courses that require a shift
    toward formal reasoning, proof, modeling, and problem-solving skills. This survey
    paper explores emerging trends and innovations in the field, focusing on three
    key areas: innovations in teaching and learning advanced mathematical topics,
    transitions between different levels and contexts of mathematics education, and
    the role of proof and proving in advanced university mathematics. The survey reflects
    the evolving landscape of mathematics education research and addresses the theoretical
    and practical challenges of teaching and learning advanced mathematics across
    various contexts.</jats:p>'

  text: Im Folgenden wird ein wellenleiterbasierter Ansatz zur Bestimmung von viskoelastischen
    Materialparametern für eine numerische Simulation der Schallausbreitung in transversal
    isotropen Polymeren vorgestellt. Ein hierfür entwickeltes Puls-Echo-Messverfahren
    liefert Messsignale, welche anschließend zur Schätzung der Materialparameter von
    absorbierenden, zylindrischen Polymerproben genutzt werden. Darüber hinaus kommen
    in dem Messaufbau Schallwandler zum Einsatz, die eine segmentierte ringförmige
    Anregung der Probe verursachen und die Sensitivität gegenüber Scherbewegungen
    erhöhen. Mithilfe einer ersten strahlentheoretischen Startwertschätzung werden
    eine multimodale, semianalytische Simulation der Schallausbreitung im Wellenleiter
    realisiert und schließlich die Materialparameter im inversen Ansatz geschätzt.

  text: 'Dielectric slab waveguides made of thin-film-lithium-niobate (TFLN) media
    are consid-ered, for operation in the linear regime. We outline and implement
    a largely analytic procedure forrigorous modal analysis of three-layer slabs with
    birefringent, anisotropic core. For Z-cut wave-guides, the slab eigenmode problem
    separates into uncoupled sets of scalar equations for TE andTM modes. Slabs in
    X-cut configuration support mostly mildly hybrid eigenmodes, with clear pre-dominant
    TE or TM polarization, and with effective indices that depend on the propagation
    directionof the modes, relative to the crystal axes. Strong hybridization can
    be observed for near degeneratemodes in singular configurations without vertical
    symmetry, or in symmetric slabs where two nearlydegenerate modes are of the same
    symmetry class. Dispersion curves for slab thickness and propa-gation angle are
    discussed, for slabs with oxide and air cover. '

  text: <jats:p>The market for microinverters is growing, especially in Europe. Driven
    by rising electricity prices and an easing in legislation since 2024, the number
    of mini-photovoltaic energy systems (mini-PVs) being installed is increasing substantially.
    Indoor and outdoor studies of microinverters have been carried out at Paderborn
    University since 2014. In the indoor lab, conversion efficiencies as a function
    of load have been measured with high accuracy and ranked according to Euro and
    CEC weightings; the latest rankings from 2024 are included in this paper. In the
    outdoor lab, energy yields have been measured using identical and calibrated crystalline
    silicon PV modules; until 2020, measurements were carried out using 215 Wp modules.
    Because of increasing PV module power ratings, 360 Wp modules were used from 2020
    until 2024. In 2024, the test modules were upgraded to 410 Wp modules, taking
    into account the increase from 600 W to 800 W of inverter power limits, which
    is suitable for simplified operation permission (“plug-in”) in many European countries
    within a homogenised legislation area for such mini-photovoltaic energy systems
    or “balcony power plants”. This legislation for simplified operation also covers
    overpowered mini-plants, although the maximum AC output remains limited to 800
    W. Presently, yield assessments are being carried out in the outdoor lab, which
    will take at least a year to be valid and comparable. Kits consisting of PV modules,
    inverters, and mounting systems are also being evaluated. Yield rankings sometimes
    differ from efficiency rankings due to the use of different MPPT algorithms with
    different MPP approach speeds and accuracies. To accelerate yield assessment,
    we developed a novel, simple formula to determine energy yield for any module
    and inverter configuration, including overpowered systems. This is a linear approach,
    determined by just two coefficients, a and b, which are given for several inverters.
    To reduce costs, inverters will be integrated into the module frame or the module
    terminal box in the future.</jats:p>
