By combination of plasmonic nanostructures with 1L-WS2 by transferring it onto a plasmonic nanoantenna array, a hybrid metasurface is realized impacting the polarization dependency of its SHG. Here, we investigate how plasmonic dipole resonances affect the process of SHG in plasmonic–TMD hybrid metasurfaces by nonlinear spectroscopy. We show that the polarization dependency is affected by the lattice structure of plasmonic nanoantenna arrays as well as by the relative orientation between the 1L-WS2 and the individual plasmonic nanoantennas. In addition, such hybrid metasurfaces show SHG in polarization states, where SHG is usually forbidden for either 1L-WS2 or plasmonic nanoantennas. By comparing the SHG in these channels with the SHG generated by the hybrid metasurface components, we detect an enhancement of the SHG signal by a factor of more than 40. Meanwhile, an attenuation of the SHG signal in usually allowed polarization states is observed. Our study provides valuable insight into hybrid systems where symmetries strongly affect the SHG and enable tailored SHG in 1L-WS2 for future applications."}],"publication":"ACS Nano","issue":"10","department":[{"_id":"15"},{"_id":"230"},{"_id":"289"}],"type":"journal_article","date_created":"2021-10-07T07:39:27Z","article_type":"original","intvolume":" 15","publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2022-01-06T06:57:07Z","publication_identifier":{"issn":["1936-0851","1936-086X"]},"author":[{"first_name":"Florian","last_name":"Spreyer","full_name":"Spreyer, Florian"},{"full_name":"Ruppert, Claudia","last_name":"Ruppert","first_name":"Claudia"},{"first_name":"Philip","last_name":"Georgi","full_name":"Georgi, Philip"},{"id":"30525","full_name":"Zentgraf, Thomas","last_name":"Zentgraf","first_name":"Thomas","orcid":"0000-0002-8662-1101"}],"year":"2021","title":"Influence of Plasmon Resonances and Symmetry Effects on Second Harmonic Generation in WS2–Plasmonic Hybrid Metasurfaces","doi":"10.1021/acsnano.1c06693","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"main_file_link":[{"open_access":"1","url":"https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acsnano.1c06693"}]},{"intvolume":" 13","date_updated":"2022-01-06T06:57:49Z","publication_identifier":{"issn":["2072-6643"]},"author":[{"full_name":"Barclay, AW","last_name":"Barclay","first_name":"AW"},{"full_name":"LSA, Augustin","first_name":"Augustin","last_name":"LSA"},{"full_name":"Brighenti, F","last_name":"Brighenti","first_name":"F"},{"full_name":"Delport, E","last_name":"Delport","first_name":"E"},{"full_name":"Henry, CJ","last_name":"Henry","first_name":"CJ"},{"full_name":"Sievenpiper, JL","last_name":"Sievenpiper","first_name":"JL"},{"full_name":"Usic, K","last_name":"Usic","first_name":"K"},{"last_name":"Yuexin","first_name":"Y","full_name":"Yuexin, Y"},{"full_name":"Zurbau, A","last_name":"Zurbau","first_name":"A"},{"first_name":"Wolever","last_name":"TMS","full_name":"TMS, Wolever"},{"first_name":"A","last_name":"Astrup","full_name":"Astrup, A"},{"first_name":"M","last_name":"Bulló","full_name":"Bulló, M"},{"id":"65985","last_name":"Buyken","first_name":"Anette","full_name":"Buyken, Anette"},{"last_name":"Ceriello","first_name":"A","full_name":"Ceriello, A"},{"last_name":"Ellis","first_name":"PR","full_name":"Ellis, PR"},{"full_name":"Vanginkel, MA","last_name":"Vanginkel","first_name":"MA"},{"first_name":"Kendall","last_name":"CWC","full_name":"CWC, Kendall"},{"last_name":"La Vecchia","first_name":"C","full_name":"La Vecchia, C"},{"first_name":"G","last_name":"Livesey","full_name":"Livesey, G"},{"full_name":"Poli, A","first_name":"A","last_name":"Poli"},{"last_name":"Riccardi","first_name":"G","full_name":"Riccardi, G"},{"first_name":"J","last_name":"Salas-Salvadó","full_name":"Salas-Salvadó, J"},{"full_name":"Trichopoulou, A","last_name":"Trichopoulou","first_name":"A"},{"full_name":"Bhaskaran, K","last_name":"Bhaskaran","first_name":"K"},{"last_name":"DJA","first_name":"Jenkins","full_name":"DJA, Jenkins"},{"first_name":"WC","last_name":"Willett","full_name":"Willett, WC"},{"last_name":"Brand-Miller","first_name":"JC","full_name":"Brand-Miller, JC"}],"year":"2021","title":"Dietary Glycaemic Index Labelling: A Global Perspective.","status":"public","volume":13,"doi":"10.3390/nu13093244","pmid":"1","user_id":"61597","_id":"27970","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"citation":{"mla":"Barclay, AW, et al. “Dietary Glycaemic Index Labelling: A Global Perspective.” <i>Nutrients</i>, vol. 13, no. 9, 2021, doi:<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.3390/nu13093244\">10.3390/nu13093244</a>.","bibtex":"@article{Barclay_LSA_Brighenti_Delport_Henry_Sievenpiper_Usic_Yuexin_Zurbau_TMS_et al._2021, title={Dietary Glycaemic Index Labelling: A Global Perspective.}, volume={13}, DOI={<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.3390/nu13093244\">10.3390/nu13093244</a>}, number={9}, journal={Nutrients}, author={Barclay, AW and LSA, Augustin and Brighenti, F and Delport, E and Henry, CJ and Sievenpiper, JL and Usic, K and Yuexin, Y and Zurbau, A and TMS, Wolever and et al.}, year={2021} }","ama":"Barclay A, LSA A, Brighenti F, et al. Although changes in theta (4–8 Hz) and alpha frequency power (8–12 Hz) were shown to reflect attentional and sensorimotor processing during balance tasks, information about the effect of stance leg on cortical processing related to postural control is lacking. Therefore, the aim was to examine patterns of cortical activity during single-leg stance with varying surface stability. EEG and force plate data from 21 healthy males (22.43 ± 2.23 years) was recorded during unipedal stance (left/right) on a stable and unstable surface. Using source-space analysis, power spectral density was analyzed in the theta, alpha-1 (8–10 Hz) and alpha-2 (10–12 Hz) frequency bands. Repeated measures ANOVA with the factors leg and surface stability revealed significant interaction effects in the left (p = 0.045, ηp2 = 0.13) and right motor clusters (F = 16.156; p = 0.001, ηp2 = 0.41). Furthermore, significant main effects for surface stability were observed for the fronto-central cluster (theta), left and right motor (alpha-1), as well as for the right parieto-occipital cluster (alpha-1/alpha-2). Leg dependent changes in alpha-2 power may indicate lateralized patterns of cortical processing in motor areas during single-leg stance. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to explore leg dependent patterns of cortical contributions to postural control in patients 6 weeks following ACLR. A total of 12 patients after ACLR (25.1 ± 3.2 years, 178.1 ± 9.7 cm, 77.5 ± 14.4 kg) and another 12 gender, age, and activity matched healthy controls participated in this study. All subjects performed 10 × 30 s. single leg stances on each leg, equipped with 64-channel mobile electroencephalography (EEG). Postural stability was quantified by area of sway and sway velocity. Estimations of the weighted phase lag index were conducted as a cortical measure of functional connectivity. The findings showed significant group × leg interactions for increased functional connectivity in the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injured leg, predominantly including fronto−parietal [F(1, 22) = 8.41, p ≤ 0.008, η2 = 0.28], fronto−occipital [F(1, 22) = 4.43, p ≤ 0.047, η2 = 0.17], parieto−motor [F(1, 22) = 10.30, p ≤ 0.004, η2 = 0.32], occipito−motor [F(1, 22) = 5.21, p ≤ 0.032, η2 = 0.19], and occipito−parietal [F(1, 22) = 4.60, p ≤ 0.043, η2 = 0.17] intra−hemispherical connections in the contralateral hemisphere and occipito−motor [F(1, 22) = 7.33, p ≤ 0.013, η2 = 0.25] on the ipsilateral hemisphere to the injured leg. Higher functional connectivity in patients after ACLR, attained by increased emphasis of functional connections incorporating the somatosensory and visual areas, may serve as a compensatory mechanism to control postural stability of the injured leg in the early phase of rehabilitation. A 15.9 year old adolescent with severe AN of eight-month duration was treated off-label with metreleptin. Hyperactivity was assessed with accelerometry. Visual analogue scales (VAS), validated self- and clinician rating scales and lab results tracked changes from baseline to end of the 24-day dosing period and a five-month follow-up. Substantial improvements of mood and eating disorder related cognitions and hyperactivity set in after two days of treatment. During dosing, sub-physiological testosterone and TT3 levels normalized; clinically libido reemerged. Weight did not increase substantially during the dosing period. During follow-up target weight was attained; mood did not deteriorate; hyperactivity ceased. Leukemia cells have a remarkable affinity for TiO2-m coatings, adhering to the surface by membrane structures and exhibiting morphologic characteristics of amoeboid locomotion. However, the details of the cell–substrate interaction induced by the TiO2-m coating remain elusive. With the aim to obtain a better understanding of this phenomenon, leukemia cell adhesion to such coatings was characterized by atomic force microscopy (AFM) for short contact times up to 60 min. The cell and membrane morphological parameters mean cell height, contact area, cell volume, and membrane roughness were determined at different contact times. These results reveal cell expansion and contraction phases occurring during the initial stage of adhesion. Subsequently, the leukemic cells reach what appears to be a new resting state, characterized by pinning of the cell membrane by TiO2-m nanoparticle aggregates protruding from the coating surface.
"}],"date_created":"2021-10-25T07:48:17Z","type":"journal_article","department":[{"_id":"302"}],"title":"Morphological Dynamics of Leukemia Cells on TiO2 Nanoparticle Coatings Studied by AFM","year":"2021","status":"public","publication_identifier":{"issn":["2076-3417"]},"author":[{"first_name":"Jaime Andres","last_name":"Garcia Diosa","full_name":"Garcia Diosa, Jaime Andres"},{"last_name":"Gonzalez Orive","first_name":"Alejandro","full_name":"Gonzalez Orive, Alejandro"},{"full_name":"Grundmeier, Guido","first_name":"Guido","last_name":"Grundmeier","id":"194"},{"full_name":"Camargo Amado, Ruben Jesus","last_name":"Camargo Amado","first_name":"Ruben Jesus"},{"id":"48864","full_name":"Keller, Adrian","first_name":"Adrian","orcid":"0000-0001-7139-3110","last_name":"Keller"}],"date_updated":"2022-01-06T06:57:27Z","publication_status":"published","intvolume":" 11","page":"9898","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"_id":"26759","doi":"10.3390/app11219898","user_id":"48864","volume":11},{"date_updated":"2022-01-06T06:57:30Z","publication_status":"published","author":[{"full_name":"Klünder, Nina","last_name":"Klünder","first_name":"Nina","id":"91015"}],"publication_identifier":{"isbn":["978-3-7799-3869-9"]},"year":"2021","status":"public","title":"Wörterbuch.
