The first location was in Spain where immigrant and Spanish students were enrolled, and the other was in Chile with Mapuche-Huilliche students, immigrant and Chilean students. The implemented programs at both sites were similar in their educational focus on socio-educational values, and teaching models (hybridization of teaching games for understanding and cooperative learning) that enhance social inclusion. Using individual and group interviews with teachers, sports coordinators, parents, and students, a qualitative approach was used to identify the factors that facilitate or hinder the social inclusion processes. In addition, the researchers used qualitative observations of the programs over six months using “notes logbook” to record their impressions during the observation process. Results indicated that the implemented sports programs successfully facilitated social inclusion processes, enabling the development of interpersonal skills and relationships between students from different cultural backgrounds. The previous training and experiences of teachers in culturally diverse contexts, and incorporation of traditional sporting games from all cultures, seems to be an important facilitator factor for the inclusion potential of the implemented programs.</jats:p>","lang":"eng"}]},{"citation":{"ieee":"E. Emissive iron compounds are scarce and dual emission has not been observed before. Here we report the Fe<jats:sup>III</jats:sup> complex [Fe(ImP)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>][PF<jats:sub>6</jats:sub>] (HImP = 1,1′-(1,3-phenylene)bis(3-methyl-1-imidazol-2-ylidene)), showing a Janus-type dual emission from ligand-to-metal charge transfer (LMCT)- and metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT)-dominated states. This behaviour is achieved by a ligand design that combines four <jats:italic>N</jats:italic>-heterocyclic carbenes with two cyclometalating aryl units. The low-lying <jats:italic>π</jats:italic>* levels of the cyclometalating units lead to energetically accessible MLCT states that cannot evolve into LMCT states. Trotz ihrer hohen Bedeutung fehlt ein hochschulfachdidaktischer Diskurs zu einer lehr-lerntheoretischen Fundierung. Zudem wird ihre Lernwirksamkeit aufgrund der bestehenden didaktischen Gestaltung kritisiert. Die weit verbreiteten engmaschigen Aufgabenstellungen enthalten keine Anreize zur tiefergehenden Auseinandersetzung mit den Inhalten. Um der Diskrepanz zwischen den Zielsetzungen und den von den Lernenden erworbenen Fähigkeiten entgegenzuwirken, liegen aktuell nur wenige und zudem nur punktuelle Grundlagen für eine evidenzbasierte Überarbeitung dieses Veranstaltungsformates vor. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist daher, einen Vorschlag für ein performanzorientiertes Kompetenzstrukturmodell auf universitärem Niveau zu entwickeln, das die Inhaltsbereiche, die experimentellen Fähigkeiten und Fertigkeiten sowie die Qualitätsausprägungen experimenteller Handlungen systematisiert.Die Modellierung ist auf Basis der Analyse videografierter experimenteller Performanz von 16 unterschiedlich fähigen Proband:innen realisiert worden. Für die Entwicklung der Dimensionen Fachmethodik und Qualitätsausprägung werden unter Nutzung der qualitativen Forschungsansätze Dokumentarische Methode und Typenbildung die charakteristischen Merkmale universitären Experimentierens identifiziert und anschließend systematisiert. Zur Prüfung der Passung des Modells zur Perspektive der Wissenschaft Physik ist ein Interrating mit einem Fachwissenschaftler durchgeführt worden, das sehr gute Übereinstimmungswerte liefert. Despite their central role within physics programs, there has been only limited discourse and research on the methodical and educational foundations of laboratory courses within higher education. Furthermore, the teaching and learning structure of laboratory courses at university level has been continuously criticized, because their typical layout is based upon detailed and stepwise experimental instructions, which offer only limited possibilities for students to develop an independent and in-depth understanding of the experimental process at university level. So far, there only exists very limited and selective research to found an evidence-based development of laboratory courses. Therefore, the goal of this study is to propose a performance-based competence structure model of experimental skills at university level, which systemizes the physics content areas, the experimental skills and abilities, as well as their quality within a unified framework.The modeling in this study is based on the filmed experimental performance of 16 test subjects, which have been selected to cover a broad range of experimental skills and abilities. To structure the quality dimension of experimental skills and abilities the analysis followed the documentary method and the method of generating types, which allowed identifying and qualifying the typical characteristics of experimenting at university level. The validity with respect to the field of physics was tested via an interrating with an experimental physicist working in science, which yielded a good agreement of the rating results. This study analysed (i) chronotype/SJL association with visceral fat/skeletal muscle mass, (ii) the attribution to physical activity behaviour, and (iii) chronotype-specific changes in physical activity behaviour in young adults during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown. Chronotype and SJL were derived from the Munich-Chrono-Type-Questionnaire in 320 German students (age 18–25 years) from September 2019 to January 2020, 156 of these participated in an online follow-up survey in June 2020. Body composition was assessed by bioimpedance analysis at baseline. Multivariable linear regression analyses were used to relate chronotype/SJL to body composition; the contribution of self-reported physical activity was tested by mediation analysis. At baseline, a later chronotype and a larger SJL were associated with a higher visceral fat mass (P&lt;0.05), this relation was notably mediated by the attention to physical activity (P&lt;0.05). Chronotype (P = 0.02) but not SJL (P = 0.87) was inversely associated with skeletal muscle mass. During the pandemic lockdown, chronotype hardly changed, but SJL was reduced. Timing and physical activity behaviour remained in most participants and changes were unrelated to chronotype (all P&gt;0.07). A later chronotype/higher SJL may increase the risk of a higher visceral fat mass even in this relatively healthy sample, which may be partly due to their physical activity behaviour. The list consists of 356 foods selected for analysis in order to ensure ≥90% coverage of the diet. Recently, new food consumption data for children (0.5–&lt;6 and 6–&lt;12 years) in Germany became available, which raised the opportunity to evaluate the applicability of the MEAL food list 2016 on new data.</jats:p>\r\n            </jats:sec><jats:sec>\r\n              <jats:title>Objective</jats:title>\r\n              <jats:p>We tested the hypotheses that the MEAL food list 2016 also covers ≥90% of the diet of the new collected food consumption data, and that the selection of foods from younger children and adults was sufficient to also cover the middle age group (6–&lt;12 years). Strategies for updating the existing food list were assessed.</jats:p>\r\n            </jats:sec><jats:sec>\r\n              <jats:title>Methods</jats:title>\r\n              <jats:p>Three approaches evaluated the reusability and potential adjustment strategies of the existing food list. Approach 1 applied the existing food list to new food consumption data. Approach 2 allowed the extension of the existing food list to improve coverage of food consumption. Approach 3 set up a new food list based on the new data.</jats:p>\r\n            </jats:sec><jats:sec>\r\n              <jats:title>Results</jats:title>\r\n              <jats:p>The MEAL food list 2016 covered 94% of the overall diet of the new collected food consumption data. The diet of the middle age group was sufficiently covered with 91%. However, coverage on main food group or population subgroup level was &lt;90% in some cases. Approach 3 most accurately identified relevant modifications to the existing food list. 94% of the MEAL food list 2016 could be re-used and 51 new foods were identified as potentially relevant.</jats:p>\r\n            </jats:sec><jats:sec>\r\n              <jats:title>Significance</jats:title>\r\n              <jats:p>The results suggest that a high investment in the coverage of a TDS food list will lower the effort and the resources to keep data updated in the long-term.</jats:p>\r\n            </jats:sec><jats:sec>\r\n              <jats:title>Impact</jats:title>\r\n              <jats:p>There is no established approach to update a TDS food list. This study provides comparative approaches to handle newly collected food consumption data for follow-on TDS activities. The results provide useful information for institutions planning or updating a TDS. Ideally, these quantum interconnections should be as fast as\r\npossible to achieve high-rate entangled qubits distribution. Here, we\r\ndemonstrate the coherent quanta exchange between single photons generated\r\non-demand from a GaAs quantum dot and atomic ensemble in a $^{87}$Rb vapor\r\nquantum memory. However, three-dimensional metasurfaces with the potential to provide additional light–matter manipulation flexibility attract only little interest. Here, we demonstrate a three-dimensional metasurface scheme capable of providing dual phase control through out-of-plane plasmonic resonance of L-shape antennas. Under circularly polarized excitation at a specific wavelength, the L-shape antennas with rotating orientation angle act as spatially variant three-dimensional tilted dipoles and are able to generate desire phase delay for different polarization components. Generalized Snell's law is achieved for both in-plane and out-of-plane dipole components through arranging such L-shape antennas into arrays. These three-dimensional metasurfaces suggest a route for wavefront modulation and a variety of nanophotonic applications."}],"publication":"Applied Physics Letters","issue":"14"}]
