Here, we present a systematic optical investigation of large‐scale 3D AuNP assemblies fabricated via meniscus‐guided assembly, focusing on the reproducibility, spatial uniformity, and mode evolution of their plasmonic responses. Spatially‐resolved dark‐field scattering measurements reveal that high‐aspect‐ratio AuNP pillars exhibit uniform scattering spectra along their height and across different pillars, despite variations in geometry and structure. Electromagnetic simulations suggest that this robustness arises from a collective many‐particle plasmonic response that remains optically active despite structural perturbations. The corresponding near‐field and surface‐charge distributions remain spatially distributed under representative structural perturbations, consistent with volumetric averaging across the three‐dimensional assembly. Building on this robust platform, we introduce compositional modulation through a core–satellite architecture by incorporating smaller AuNPs. This yields a composition‐dependent spectral redistribution, including the emergence of an additional long‐wavelength spectral feature in the core–satellite assemblies. Wavelength‐dependent surface‐enhanced Raman scattering measurements reveal contrasting responses under 633 and 785 nm excitation, reflecting redistribution of local plasmonic coupling pathways. These results provide process‐enabled guidelines for using meniscus‐guided 3D‐nanoprinting to realize robust nanoparticle assemblies."}],"publication":"Laser &amp; Photonics Reviews","department":[{"_id":"15"},{"_id":"230"},{"_id":"289"},{"_id":"623"}],"type":"journal_article","date_created":"2026-08-03T06:43:03Z"},{"title":"Ongoing efforts to enhance stability","year":"2026","author":[{"id":"48864","orcid":"0000-0001-7139-3110","last_name":"Keller","first_name":"Adrian Clemens","full_name":"Keller, Adrian Clemens"}],"date_updated":"2026-08-06T06:59:39Z","intvolume":" 3","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"doi":"10.18609/nai.2026.055","publication":"Nucleic Acid Insights","issue":"6","abstract":[{"lang":"eng","text":"Over the last few decades, a large variety of nucleic acid‑based therapeutic approaches and drug formulations have been developed in the lab, tested in the clinic, and brought to market, ranging from antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) and siRNAs to aptamer inhibitors and mRNA vaccines, with DNA and RNA nanostructure therapeutics already looming on the horizon. However, being susceptible toward hydrolysis, oxidation, non‑specific binding, and nuclease digestion, unmodified nucleic acids are rapidly degraded in vivo, resulting in poor therapeutic performance. Therefore, several stabilization strategies have been developed in order to protect those fragile molecules against adverse conditions during storage and in the body, while simultaneously accommodating their various mechanisms of action such as cellular uptake, target binding, or translation. These strategies include chemical modifications at the nucleoside level, complexation with proteins and polymers, and encapsulation in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). In the present study, participants viewed video sequences of a basketball player passing to the left or right, either with or without a head fake. In the buzzer task, participants moved laterally to press a response button as if to intercept the pass. In the vocal task, they verbally indicated pass direction. Reaction times (RTs), movement times (MTs), and medio-lateral center-of-pressure (CoP) displacements were recorded to investigate whether motor output is rapid and stimulus-driven or rather requires continuous integration of fake and pass cues. Further, we investigated whether the mere observation of a basketball player leads to overt micromovements even if no response movement is intended. The data analysis shows that head fakes increased RTs in both the buzzer and vocal tasks. In the buzzer task, head fakes induced an initial, small erroneous CoP shift, which was then rapidly corrected. When CoP trajectories were aligned by head orientation, fake and non-fake trajectories diverged shortly after movement onset. In the present dynamic sport-related context, this pattern is more compatible with the early integration of head and pass information than with a strictly sequential prime-target account, although the paradigm differs from classic Rapid Chase Theory designs with discrete primes and target events. In the vocal task, participants were not instructed to move, yet CoP traces showed tiny but systematically lateralized micromovements with a temporal structure resembling that in the buzzer task, albeit without an initial erroneous shift for head fakes. These postural fluctuations are consistent with action-observation-related motor activation, although they do not uniquely identify motor resonance and may also reflect attentional or generalized embodied response tendencies. A clear deceptive response conflict at the postural level emerged only when a lateralized action was prepared.
","lang":"eng"}],"publication":"Scientific Reports","issue":"1","department":[{"_id":"17"},{"_id":"266"}],"type":"journal_article","date_created":"2026-08-10T10:34:01Z","intvolume":" 16","publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2026-08-10T10:39:46Z","publication_identifier":{"issn":["2045-2322"]},"author":[{"id":"52931","full_name":"Güldenpenning, Iris","orcid":"0000-0003-0549-5543","first_name":"Iris","last_name":"Güldenpenning"},{"first_name":"Lars","last_name":"Schulze Frielinghaus","full_name":"Schulze Frielinghaus, Lars","id":"80673"},{"full_name":"Böer, Nils Tobias","orcid":"0000-0002-0236-7282","first_name":"Nils Tobias","last_name":"Böer","id":"52000"},{"full_name":"Schmidt, Thomas","first_name":"Thomas","last_name":"Schmidt"},{"id":"36388","first_name":"Matthias","last_name":"Weigelt","full_name":"Weigelt, Matthias"}],"year":"2026","title":"Early postural dynamics reveal the rapid processing of fake social cues for deceptive actions in sports","doi":"10.1038/s41598-026-61922-8","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"article_number":"22820","main_file_link":[{"open_access":"1"}]},{"publisher":"American Physical Society (APS)","_id":"66665","user_id":"55907","volume":8,"status":"public","oa":"1","citation":{"chicago":"Scharwald, Dennis, and Polina Sharapova. “Characterization of Spatial Schmidt Modes in High-Gain SU(1,1) Interferometers.” <i>Physical Review Research</i> 8, no. 3 (2026). <a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1103/ph64-ts39\">https://doi.org/10.1103/ph64-ts39</a>.","short":"D. However, its multimode nature also makes it challenging to measure its properties. Recently [I. Barakat et al., Optica Quantum 3, 36 (2025)], a technique for the simultaneous measurement of squeezing of multiple broadband modes based on a phase-sensitive amplification approach was experimentally implemented using a setup that effectively corresponds to an SU(1,1) interferometer. Here, we aim to provide a complete theoretical analysis of the modal structure of (generally unbalanced) SU(1,1) interferometers and a detailed theoretical formal derivation of the framework for this technique. Utilizing the joint Schmidt decomposition of the transfer functions, we investigate the shape and phase profiles of the modes of the SU(1,1) interferometer and its components [parametric down-conversion (PDC) sections] for different parametric gain regimes. We discover a complicated interplay between the PDC modes and the modes of the entire interferometer, and analyze it by using their overlap coefficients as a similarity measure. Finally, we develop a rigorous processing method for the aforementioned multimode squeezing measurement technique and discuss necessary approximations to make this method experimentally feasible."}]},{"date_updated":"2026-08-18T07:50:28Z","author":[{"id":"52000","last_name":"Böer","first_name":"Nils Tobias","orcid":"0000-0002-0236-7282","full_name":"Böer, Nils Tobias"},{"full_name":"Steinborn, Michael B.","last_name":"Steinborn","first_name":"Michael B."},{"id":"36388","full_name":"Weigelt, Matthias","first_name":"Matthias","last_name":"Weigelt"},{"full_name":"Güldenpenning, Iris","orcid":"0000-0003-0549-5543","first_name":"Iris","last_name":"Güldenpenning","id":"52931"}],"year":"2026","title":"When Trying Harder Helps: Effort Instructions Affect Performance in Complex Motor Tasks","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"publication":"Abstracts of the 68th Conference of Experimental Psychologists","department":[{"_id":"17"},{"_id":"266"}],"keyword":["effort","try-harder instruction","deception","sport psychology","action and perception"],"type":"conference_abstract","date_created":"2026-03-31T10:55:38Z","file":[{"creator":"nboeer","date_created":"2026-03-31T10:54:23Z","date_updated":"2026-03-31T10:54:23Z","relation":"main_file","access_level":"closed","file_size":34969,"file_name":"Abstract_Böer_When Trying Harder Helps_Effort Instructions.pdf","content_type":"application/pdf","success":1,"file_id":"65258"}],"has_accepted_license":"1","conference":{"location":"Tübingen","start_date":"2026-03-15","name":"68th Conference of Experimental Psychologists","end_date":"2026-03-18"},"status":"public","editor":[{"full_name":"Kaup, Barbara","first_name":"Barbara","last_name":"Kaup"},{"last_name":"Roth","first_name":"Lilly","full_name":"Roth, Lilly"},{"full_name":"Rück, Franziska","first_name":"Franziska","last_name":"Rück"}],"user_id":"52931","ddc":["150"],"_id":"65257","citation":{"short":"N.T.
","lang":"eng"}],"date_created":"2026-05-19T13:51:12Z","department":[{"_id":"611"},{"_id":"33"},{"_id":"386"}],"type":"book_editor","publication_identifier":{"isbn":["9783818801052"]},"year":"2026","title":"Handlungsorientierung in der Ausbildung von Lehrkräften und pädagogischen Fachkräften. At the same time, ZTO is also studied as a resistive sensor; being an n‐type semiconductor, its electrical conductance decreases by adsorption of oxygen. Both phenomena can be exploited for quantitative O2 sensing. The respective sensor responses can be described by the same modified Stern‐Volmer model that distinguishes between accessible and non‐accessible luminescence centers or charge carriers, respectively. The impact of the temperature is studied in the range from room temperature up to 150 °C.","lang":"eng"}],"publication":"ChemPhysChem"},{"user_id":"24755","publisher":"IOP Publishing","_id":"59416","status":"public","oa":"1","quality_controlled":"1","citation":{"apa":"Feser, M. Conducted at Paderborn University, this study examined how students’ sense of belonging to physics influences their academic outcomes in an introductory experimental physics course. Additionally, we investigated how physics students’ engagement in the Physiktreff—a holistic support program for first-year physics students to help them cope with academic and social challenges during their studies—impacts the development of their sense of belonging to physics over time. Our findings indicated that students with a stronger sense of belonging to physics performed better academically. Moreover, students who actively participated in the support program experienced a positive shift in their sense of belonging to physics. However, our findings also revealed that physics students with a higher initial sense of belonging to physics tended to experience a decline in their sense of belonging to physics during their first semester. These results underscore the importance of fostering a sense of belonging to physics within higher education, particularly during the introductory phase of students’ studies.&amp;#xD;
"}],"publication":"European Journal of Physics"},{"place":"New York, NY","date_created":"2025-04-08T09:06:14Z","type":"book_chapter","department":[{"_id":"302"}],"publication":"Methods in Molecular Biology","citation":{"mla":"Parikka, Johannes, et al. “Surface-Assisted Assembly of DNA Origami Lattices on Silicon Wafers.” <i>Methods in Molecular Biology</i>, Springer US, 2025, doi:<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1007/978-1-0716-4394-5_7\">10.1007/978-1-0716-4394-5_7</a>.","bibtex":"@inbook{Parikka_Pothineni_Järvinen_Tapio_Keller_Toppari_2025, place={New York, NY}, title={Surface-Assisted Assembly of DNA Origami Lattices on Silicon Wafers}, DOI={<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1007/978-1-0716-4394-5_7\">10.1007/978-1-0716-4394-5_7</a>}, booktitle={Methods in Molecular Biology}, publisher={Springer US}, author={Parikka, Johannes and Pothineni, Bhanu Kiran and Järvinen, Heini and Tapio, Kosti and Keller, Adrian and Toppari, J. In this study, bioactive curcumin (CUM) derivatives were synthesized in a continuously operated microfluidic reactor (MFR), using piperidine-based polymeric networks as catalysts. Piperidine methacrylate and piperidine acrylate were synthesized and subsequently copolymerized with complementary monomers (MMA or DMAA) and crosslinkers (EGDMA or MBAM) via photopolymerization, yielding different polymeric networks. Initially, batch reactions were optimized for the organo-catalytic Knoevenagel condensation between CUM and 4-nitrobenzaldehyde, under various conditions, in the presence of polymer networks. Conversion was assessed using offline 1H NMR spectroscopy, revealing an increase in conversion with enhanced swelling properties of the polymer networks, which facilitated greater accessibility of catalytic sites. In continuous-flow MFR experiments, optimized polymer gel dots exhibited superior catalytic performance, achieving a conversion of up to 72%, compared to other compositions. This improvement was attributed to the enhanced swelling in the reaction mixture (DMSO/methanol, 7:3 v/v) at 40 °C over 72 h. Furthermore, the MFR system enabled the efficient synthesis of a series of CUM derivatives, demonstrating significantly higher conversion rates than traditional batch reactions. Notably, while batch reactions required 90% catalyst loading in the gel, the MFR system achieved a comparable or superior performance with only 50% catalyst, resulting in a higher turnover number. These findings underscore the advantages of continuous-flow organo-catalysis in enhancing catalytic efficiency and sustainability in organic synthesis.
","lang":"eng"}],"article_number":"278","main_file_link":[{"url":"https://www.mdpi.com/2310-2861/11/4/278"}],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"doi":"10.3390/gels11040278","title":"Synthesis of Curcumin Derivatives via Knoevenagel Reaction Within a Continuously Driven Microfluidic Reactor Using Polymeric Networks Containing Piperidine as a Catalyst","year":"2025","publication_identifier":{"issn":["2310-2861"]},"author":[{"full_name":"Killi, Naresh","last_name":"Killi","first_name":"Naresh"},{"full_name":"Rumpke, Katja","first_name":"Katja","last_name":"Rumpke"},{"id":"287","first_name":"Dirk","last_name":"Kuckling","full_name":"Kuckling, Dirk"}],"publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2025-04-11T07:13:26Z","intvolume":" 11"}]
