Within Ingrid, the graffiti images are collected, digitized and annotated. With this work, we aim to support the rapid access to a comprehensive data source on Ingrid targeted especially by researchers. In particular, we present IngridKG, an RDF knowledge graph of annotated graffiti, abides by the Linked Data and FAIR principles. We weekly update IngridKG by augmenting the new annotated graffiti to our knowledge graph. Our generation pipeline applies RDF data conversion, link discovery and data fusion approaches to the original data. The present dissertation addresses this research gap using machine learning methods. Implicit expressions are not comprehensible by computers and cannot be localized in the text. However, many texts arise on interpersonal topics that, unlike commercial evaluation texts, often imply information only by means of longer phrases. Examples are the kindness and the attentiveness of a doctor, which are only paraphrased (“he didn’t even look me in the eye”). The analysis of such data, especially the identification and localization of implicit statements, is a research gap (1). This work uses so-called Aspect-based Sentiment Analysis as a method for this purpose. It remains open how the aspect categories to be extracted can be discovered and thematically delineated based on the data (2). Furthermore, it is not yet explored how a collection of tools should look like, with which implicit phrases can be identified and thus made explicit (3). Last, it is an open question how to correlate the identified phrases from the text data with other data, including the investigation of the relationship between quantitative scores (e.g., school grades) and the thematically related text (4). Based on these research gaps, the research question is posed as follows: Using text mining methods, how can implicit rating content be properly interpreted and thus made explicit before it is automatically categorized and quantified? The uniqueness of this dissertation is based on the automated recognition of implicit linguistic statements alongside explicit statements. These are identified in unstructured text data so that features expressed only in the text can later be compared across data sources, even though they were not included in rating categories such as stars or school grades. German-language physician ratings from websites in three countries serve as the sample domain. The solution approach consists of data creation, a pipeline for text processing and analyses based on this. In the data creation, aspect classes are identified and delineated across platforms and marked in text data. This results in six datasets with over 70,000 annotated sentences and detailed guidelines. The models that were created based on the training data extract and categorize the aspects. In addition, the sentiment polarity and the evaluation weight, i. e., the importance of each phrase, are determined. The models, which are combined in a pipeline, are used in a prototype in the form of a web application. The analyses built on the pipeline quantify the rating contents by linking the obtained information with further data, thus allowing new insights. As a result, a toolbox is provided to identify quantifiable rating content and categories using text mining for a sample domain. This is used to evaluate the approach, which in principle can also be adapted to any other domain.}}, author = {{Kersting, Joschka}}, pages = {{208}}, publisher = {{Universität der Bundeswehr München }}, title = {{{Identifizierung quantifizierbarer Bewertungsinhalte und -kategorien mittels Text Mining}}}, year = {{2023}}, } @article{45861, author = {{Topalović, Elvira and Blachut, Alisa}}, journal = {{Der Deutschunterricht}}, pages = {{2–4}}, title = {{{Grammatische Modelle. The results provide new insights for the medical field. Our application domain, physician reviews, shows that there are millions of review texts on the Internet that cannot yet be comprehensively analyzed because previous studies have focused on explicit aspects from other domains (e.g., products). We identify, extract, and classify implicit and explicit aspect phrases equally from German-language review texts. To do so, we annotated aspect phrases representing reviews on numerous aspects of a physician, medical practice, or practice staff. We apply the best performing transformer model, XLM-RoBERTa, to a large physician review dataset and correlate the results with existing metadata. As a result, we can show different correlations between the sentiment polarity of certain aspect classes (e.g., friendliness, practice equipment) and physicians’ professions (e.g., surgeon, ophthalmologist). With regard to the examination system, the shift towards output-oriented teaching is still one of the most significant challenges. Assessments have to be integrated into the teaching and learning arrangements and consistently aligned towards the intended learning outcomes. In particular, assessments should provide valid evidence that learners have acquired competences that are relevant for a specific domain. However, it seems that this didactic goal has not yet been fully achieved in modeling education in computer science. The aim of this study is to investigate whether typical task material used in exercises and exams in modeling education at selected German universities covers relevant competences required for graphical modeling. For this purpose, typical tasks in the field of modeling are first identified by means of a content-analytical procedure. Subsequently, it is determined which competence facets relevant for graphical modeling are addressed by the task types. By contrasting a competence model for modeling with the competences addressed by the tasks, a gap was identified between the required competences and the task material analyzed. In particular, the gap analysis shows the neglect of transversal competence facets as well as those related to the analysis and evaluation of models. The result of this paper is a classification of task types for modeling education and a specification of the competence facets addressed by these tasks. Recommendations for developing and assessing student's competences comprehensively are given.}}, author = {{Soyka, Chantal and Ullrich, Meike and Striewe, Michael and Schaper, Niclas}}, journal = {{Enterprise Modelling and Information Systems Architectures}}, keywords = {{conceptual modeling, higher education, competence-oriented assessment, task analysis, graphical modeling}}, title = {{{Comparison of Required Competences and Task Material in Modeling Education}}}, doi = {{10.18417/EMISA.18.7}}, volume = {{18}}, year = {{2023}}, } @inproceedings{47071, author = {{Wotschel, Philipp and Vogelsang, Christoph and Meier, Jana and Janzen, Thomas}}, location = {{Thessaloniki, Greece}}, title = {{{Counselling competence of student teachers – development of an action-oriented assessment format. }}}, year = {{2023}}, } @inproceedings{47067, author = {{Janzen, Thomas and Wotschel, Philipp and Meier, Jana and Vogelsang, Christoph}}, location = {{Thessaloniki, Greece}}, title = {{{Assessing pre-service EFL teachers’ feedback performance in role-play-based simulations.}}}, year = {{2023}}, } @inproceedings{47066, author = {{Vogelsang, Christoph and Meier, Jana and Janzen, Thomas and Wotschel, Philipp}}, location = {{ Thessaloniki, Greece.}}, title = {{{Acceptance of simulation-based assessment formats in teacher education. }}}, year = {{2023}}, } @article{47141, abstract = {{The development of good conditions for research is an essential task of research institutions, which in practice is nowadays mostly performed by science managers. The study investigates two different ways of guiding the addressee of an explanation - an explainee, through action demonstration: contrastive and non-contrastive. Their effect was tested on attention to specific action elements (goal) as well as on event memory. In an eye-tracking experiment, participants were shown different motion videos that were either contrastive or non-contrastive with respect to the segments of movement presentation. Given that everyday action demonstration is often multimodal, the stimuli were created with re- spect to their visual and verbal presentation. For visual presentation, a video combined two movements in a contrastive (e.g., Up-motion following a Down-motion) or non-contrastive way (e.g., two Up-motions following each other). For verbal presentation, each video was combined with a sequence of instruction descriptions in the form of negative (i.e., contrastive) or assertive (i.e., non-contrastive) guidance. It was found that a) attention to the event goal increased for this condition in the later time window, and b) participants’ recall of the event was facilitated when a visually contrastive motion was combined with a verbal contrast.

General crises of society often are accompanied by ideological struggles. Given this context, it is important that social theory reinvigorates the analysis of ideology. For doing so, it makes sense to engage with classical theories of ideology. This paper contributes to this task. It asks: How are the economic and the non-economic related? What is ideology? This article deals with the base/superstructure problem and the problem of ideology via an engagement with selected aspects of Stuart Hall’s, Georg Lukács’s and Raymond Williams’s works. The commonality of Hall’s, Lukács’s and Williams’s thoughts that makes a joint engagement with their works feasible is that they all three dealt with aspects of culture from a critical theory perspective and are in one way or another representatives of Cultural Marxism. While Lukács’s works and Cultural Studies are often presented as conflicting approaches, this paper shows that concerning the question of how the economic and the non-economic are related and how we can think of ideology, the approaches of Lukács, Williams, and Hall complement each other, which allows critical theories of culture to draw on all three approaches and to combine elements from them in a synergistic manner. There are parallels between Williams’, Hall’s, and Lukács’s solutions to the base/superstructure problem. Williams argues that the economic exerts pressures on and sets limits to the non-economic. Negation is a linguistic strategy that is often used in explanations. It creates a contrast space between the affirmed and the negated item that enriches explaining processes with additional contextual information. While negation in human speech has been shown to lead to higher processing costs and worse task performance in terms of recall or action execution when used in isolation, it can decrease processing costs when used in context. So far, it has not been considered as a guiding strategy for explanations in human-robot interaction. We conducted an empirical study to investigate the use of negation as a guiding strategy in explanatory human-robot dialogue, in which a virtual robot explains tasks and possible actions to a human explainee to solve them in terms of gestures on a touchscreen. Our results show that negation vs. affirmation 1) increases processing costs measured as reaction time and 2) increases several aspects of task performance. While there was no significant effect of negation on the number of initially correctly executed gestures, we found a significantly lower number of attempts—measured as breaks in the finger movement data before the correct gesture was carried out—when being instructed through a negation. We further found that the gestures significantly resembled the presented prototype gesture more following an instruction with a negation as opposed to an affirmation. Also, the participants rated the benefit of contrastive vs. affirmative explanations significantly higher. Repeating the instructions decreased the effects of negation, yielding similar processing costs and task performance measures for negation and affirmation after several iterations. When group member ability was high, procrastination was lower in additive group work as compared to individual work.
