text: AbstractIntroductionIn
Europe, most Internet searches for school‐related tasks are situated at home,
where parents can support adolescents. Although the frequency (quantity) of parental
support has already been analyzed, a research gap exists concerning the quality
of parental support in adolescents' information‐related Internet use. The quality
of parental support in the field of homework involvement is known to be a predictor
of adolescents' learning motivation and academic achievement, often discussed
with regard to self‐determination theory (SDT) in terms of autonomy support, structure,
emotional support, and control. These categories were adapted in this study to
analyze parents' support in adolescents' Internet searching activities.MethodsUsing
a mixed‐methods approach, we combined quantitative questionnaires and qualitative
observations to analyze joint information‐related Internet uses. Therefore, 243
parent–adolescent dyads were surveyed and six parent–adolescent dyads were observed
by videography in 2019/2020 in Germany. The adolescents were 11 years old, on
average.ResultsThe
parents rated all qualities higher than the adolescents. Emotional support was
rated highest by both groups, whereas structure was rated lowest. Adolescents' and
parents' view on parental support differ. The qualitative study revealed parents' often
interfering behavior, whereas emotional support was low. Further, the active role
of adolescents was highlighted in both quantitative and qualitative data.ConclusionsBy
combining quantitative and qualitative approaches, we demonstrated a fruitful
application of SDT in analyzing the quality of parental support during adolescents' Internet
searches at home and shed light on the co‐construction of joint Internet searches.

text: "Between Dethematizing and Demonetisation: The Holocaust in depictions of
National-Socialism and World War Two on YouTube – In September 2018, an ambitious
\r\nand highly noteworthy project for the construction and distribution of a broad-reaching
portrayal of 20th-century violence in the digital age was launched: the YouTube
\r\nchannel World War Two (WW2). Their mission was to present the experiences
of \r\nthose who lived through the war in a radically objective, apolitical, and
detailed \r\nmanner. The main series, sharing the same title as the channel, focused
on military \r\nevents, while another series titled War Against Humanity (WAH)
would address \r\nwar crimes, human rights abuses, the mass murder of civilians
and prisoners of \r\nwar, Nazi euthanasia crimes, and the Holocaust. This division
of the narrative into \r\na military history (main series) and a separate history
of war crimes and the Holocaust (side series) raises important questions about
the conditions, opportunities, \r\nand limitations that YouTube’s media and economic
structures impose on the portrayal of war, mass violence, and genocide. The paper
also examines how these \r\nstructures influence the narrative and shape the presented
historical image, and \r\nwhat consequences arise for the depiction of war and
history from an academic perspective. Lastly, it explores the reasons behind this
narrative split: whether it was \r\na deliberate decision to systematically differentiate
the storytelling or a strategic \r\nmove shaped by YouTube’s media and economic
constraints. The question arises: \r\nto what extent can historical education
on digital platforms like YouTube, driven \r\nby the need for content monetization,
still align closely with academic standards?"

text: In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird die Darstellung von drei ausgewählten Akzenten
des Englischen in den Audio Materialien deutscher Englisch-Schulbücher untersucht.
Dabei verfolgt diese Arbeit einen Korpus-phonologischen Ansatz um die Darstellung
des Britischen, Amerikanischen, und Australischen Englisch zu untersuchen. Dabei
wird das Augenmerk auf die Akzente Received Pronunciation, General American, und
Standard (Mainstream) Australian English in den drei in NRW genutzten Lehrwerken
English G Access, Green Line, und Camden Town gelegt. Das phonologische Schulbuchkorpus
umfasst 3 Stunden, 36 Minuten, und 40 Sekunden Audio Material. Insgesamt umfasst
das Korpus 54 Sprecher*innen für die asugewählte phonologische Merkmale für jeden
untersuchten Akzent analysiert werden. Die Ergebnisse der Arbeit zeigen, dass
die drei Lehrwerke einige phonologische Merkmale der Akzente Received Pronunciation,
General American, und Standard (Mainstream) Australian English darstellen, dies
aber nciht durchgängig für alle Sprecher*innen. Dennoch zeigt die Arbeit, dass
die Schulbücher und die Audio Materialien den Schüler*innen eine effektive und
praktische Möglichkeit bieten, die Variation der Englischen Sprache kennenzulernen.

text: In this dissertation, a corpus-phonological approach is used to analyse the
representation of British English in the form of Received Pronunciation, American
English in the form of General American, and Australian English in the form of
Standard (Mainstream) Australian English in three textbook series - English G
Access, Green Line, and Camden Town - used at secondary schools in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The phonological textbook corpus consists of the audio materials from volumes
two, four, and five of the three textbooks and comprises 3 hours, 36 minutes,
and 40 seconds of audio materials. A total of 54 speakers are included in the
corpus and select phonological features are analysed for each accent. The results
of this study show that all three textbooks display at least some of the accent
features of Received Pronunciation, General American, and Australian English,
but not consistently across all speakers. These textbooks and audio materials
nevertheless offer an effective and practical method for introducing learners
to the diversity of the English language.

text: "Abstract\r\n This book combines
theoretical and empirical research across various academic disciplines, including
economics, psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, and political science, to describe
why individuals adopt political ideologies and how this choice can potentially
exacerbate conflict and violence. Ideology is particularly important to conflict.
Data on intra- and international conflict shows that the number of ideologically
driven conflicts has increased tremendously in recent decades. Although some researchers
have started to investigate extensively the link between ideology and conflict,
they struggle to find holistic explanations through which ideologies might shape
conflict. This book addresses this effort by providing an interrelated multidisciplinary
framework to explain the multidimensional functions of ideology. It illustrates
that ideologies are not only capable of shaping conflictual behavior or mobilizing
political actors, but also of addressing human needs, desires, and preferences.
Hence, this book seeks to explain how individuals adopt ideologies that match
their underlying needs and preferences; that ideologies have the capacity to reconcile
deprived psychological human needs; and that radical groups and organizations
use ideologies to recruit individuals and pursue their objectives. To understand
these relationships better and to apply the theoretical background to real-world
situations, we include real-life cases that describe how depriving individuals
of resources that satisfy their underlying needs and preferences can lead them
to adopt particular ideologies that are disseminated by radical groups or organizations.
These radical groups or organizations then make decisions, which can potentially
lead to conflict onset and continuous long-term struggles."

text: A method for the construction of bijective volumetric maps between
3D shapes is presented. Arbitrary shapes of ball-topology are supported, overcoming
restrictions of previous methods to convex or star-shaped targets. In essence,
the mapping problem is decomposed into a set of simpler mapping problems, each
of which can be solved with previous methods for discrete star-shaped mapping
problems. Addressing the key challenges in this endeavor, algorithms are described
to reliably construct structurally compatible partitions of two shapes with constraints
regarding star-shapedness and to compute a parsimonious common refinement of two
triangulations.

text: "\r\n We present a novel algorithm to map ball-topology
tetrahedral meshes onto star-shaped domains with guarantees regarding bijectivity.
Our algorithm is based on the recently introduced idea of Shrink-and-Expand, where
images of interior vertices are initially clustered at one point (Shrink-), before
being sequentially moved to non-degenerate positions yielding a bijective map
(-and-Expand). In this context, we introduce the concept of the\r\n cluster
mesh\r\n , i.e. the unexpanded interior mesh consisting
of geometrically degenerate simplices. Using local, per-vertex connectivity information
solely from the cluster mesh, we show that a viable expansion sequence guaranteed
to produce a bijective map can always be found as long as the mesh is\r\n shellable.\r\n
\ In addition to robustness guarantees for this ubiquitous class of
inputs, other practically relevant benefits include improved parsimony and reduced
algorithmic complexity. While inheriting some of the worst-case high run time
requirements of the state of the art, significant acceleration for the average
case is experimentally demonstrated.\r\n "

text: Die Wandlungsfähigkeit einer Prozesskette erfordert Fügeverbindungen mit gezielt
einstellbaren mechanischen, elektrischen, thermischen oder chemischen Eigenschaften.
Dieser Beitrag beschreibt die Untersuchungen, inwiefern beim Clinchen zweier Bleche
aus der ausscheidungshärtbaren Aluminiumlegierung EN AW-6014 bereits auf Basis
der Prozessüberwachung des Kraft-Weg-Verlaufs bzw. des sich daraus ergebenden
Energieeintrags auf die mechanischen und elektrischen Eigenschaften der Fügeverbindung
geschlossen werden kann. An einer ausgewählten Fügeaufgabe werden im Stufenversuch
die gegenseitigen Abhängigkeiten der einzelnen Einflussgrößen sowie des Wärmebehandlungszustands
aufgezeigt. Dabei wird zwischen den Bindemechanismen Formschluss und Kraftschluss
unterschieden. Die Formschlusskomponente wird anhand der geometrischen Kenngrößen
wie Bodendicke, Halsdicke und Hinterschnitt in Mikroskopieuntersuchungen an Schliffbildern
und den mechanischen Eigenschaften der Fügeverbindung untersucht, die im Scherzug-
und Kopfzugversuch bestimmt werden. Dazu erfolgt zudem die Charakterisierung der
Versagensbilder. Zur Quantifizierung der Kraftschlusskomponente der Fügeverbindung
werden das Losbrechmoment im Torsionsversuch und der elektrische Widerstand mittels
Vier-Leiter-Methode ermittelt und korreliert.

text: 'Vor langer Zeit, im 17. und im 18. Jahrhundert, tobte innerhalb der Strukturen
der Katholischen Kirche in West-Europa einen Kampf um die deutung und den Umgang
mit der göttlichen Gnade sowie dem Sündenbegriff. Dieser Kampf hatte viele Auslöser,
aber keiner war so umstritten wie die Bewegung mit dem Namen "Jansenismus". Heute
ist sie beinahe der Vergessenheit anheimgefallen, aber lange Zeit hatte sie (und
die Bekämpfung dieser Bewegung) einen deutlichen Einfluss auf "Staat und Kirche".
War es aber eine Bewegung? Und gegen wen richtete sie sich? Warum wurde sie so
heftig bekämpft? In diesem Beitrag geht es um diese Fragen, aber vor allem um
den vergessenen Geburtsorts dieser Bewegung: in Löwen, einer Stadt im heutigen
Flandern.'
