text: We present the design and characterization of a guided-wave, bright, and highly
frequency non-degenerate parametric down-conversion (PDC) source in thin-film
lithium niobate. The source generates photon pairs with wavelengths of 815 nm
and 1550 nm, linking the visible wavelength regime with telecommunication wavelengths.
We confirm the high quality of the generated single photons by determining a value
for the heralded second-order correlation function as low as g_h^(2)=(6.7+/-1.1)*10^8-3).
Furthermore, we achieve a high spectral brightness of 0.44·10pairs/(smWGHz) which
is two orders of magnitude higher than sources based on weakly guiding waveguides.
The shape of the PDC spectrum and the strong agreement between the effective and
nominal bandwidth highlight our high fabrication quality of periodically poled
waveguides. The good agreement between the measured and simulated spectral characteristics
of our source demonstrates our excellent understanding of the PDC process. Our
result is a valuable step towards practical and scalable quantum communication
networks as well as photonic quantum computing.

text: Periodically poled thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) crystals are the fundamental
building block for highly-efficient quantum light sources and frequency converters.
The efficiency of these devices is strongly dependent on the interaction length
between the light and the nonlinear material, scaling quadratically with this
parameter. Nevertheless, the fabrication of long, continuously poled areas in
TFLN remains challenging, the length of continuously poled areas rarely exceeds
10 mm. In this work, we demonstrate a significant progress in this field achieving
the periodic poling of continuous poled areas of 70 mm length with a 3 μm poling
period and a close to 50 % duty cycle. We compare two poling electrode design
approaches to fabricate long, continuous poled areas. The first approach involves
the poling of a single, continuous 70 mm long electrode. The second utilize a
segmented approach including the poling of more than 20 individual sections forming
together a 70 mm long poling area with no stitching errors. While the continuous
electrode allows for faster fabrication, the segmented approach allows to individually
optimize the poling resulting in less duty cycle variation. A detailed analysis
of the periodic poling results reveals that the results of both are consistent
with previously reported poling outcomes for shorter devices. Thus, we demonstrate
wafer-scale periodic poling exceeding chiplet-size without any loss in the periodic
poling quality. Our work presents a key step towards highly-efficient, narrow-bandwidth
and low-pump power nonlinear optical devices.

text: Recommendation systems are essential for delivering personalized content across
e-commerce and streaming services. However, traditional methods often fail in
cold-start scenarios where new items lack prior interactions. Recent advances
in large language models (LLMs) offer a promising alternative. In this paper,
we adopt the retrieve-and-recommend framework and propose to fine-tune the LLM
jointly on warm-and cold-start next-item recommendation tasks, thus, mitigating
the need for separate models for both item types. We computationally compare zero-shot
prompting, in-context learning, and fine-tuning using the same LLM backbone, and
benchmark them against strong PLM-based baselines. Our findings provide practical
insights into the trade-offs between accuracy and computational cost of these
methods for next-item recommendation. To enhance reproducibility, we release the
    source code under https://github. com/HayaHalimeh/LLMs-For-Next-Item-Recommendation.git.

text: 'Data spaces have become a strategic pillar of Europe''s digital agenda, enabling
sovereign, legally compliant data sharing within decentralized ecosystems. As
data space initiatives evolve, personalized recommendations are increasingly recognized
as key use cases. However, traditional recommendation approaches typically rely
on centralized aggregation of user behavior data-directly conflicting with the
core ethos of data spaces: sovereignty, privacy, and trust. Federated recommendation
systems offer a promising alternative by training models locally and exchanging
only intermediate parameters to build a global model. Despite this potential,
the integration of federated recommendation techniques and data space architectures
remains largely underexplored in research and practice. This paper addresses this
gap by designing and evaluating a prototype of a federated recommendation system
specifically tailored for data spaces and compliant with their underlying infrastructure.
Our findings highlight the viability of developing privacy-preserving, collaborative
recommendation systems within data spaces, and contribute to the broader adoption
of AI across these emerging ecosystems.'

text: "Recommender systems (RS) can support sustainable development by steering
users toward more sustainable choices. Sustainability-aware explanations represent
one avenue for contributing to this goal by foregrounding the environmental and
social aspects of the recommended products or services. This paper advances the
line of research on sustainability-aware explanations by integrating nudging mechanisms
into their design and by evaluating their effectiveness through a randomized between-subjects
online vignette experiment across two item domains (). Our findings offer actionable
design guidelines for building RS that foster sustainability-aware decision making
and enrich the empirical foundation for impact-oriented research on explanation
    in RS.\r\n"

text: "We present an extremely simple polynomial-space exponential-time\r\n$(1-\\varepsilon)$-approximation
algorithm for MAX-k-SAT that is (slightly)\r\nfaster than the previous known polynomial-space
$(1-\\varepsilon)$-approximation\r\nalgorithms by Hirsch (Discrete Applied Mathematics,
2003) and Escoffier,\r\nPaschos and Tourniaire (Theoretical Computer Science,
2014). Our algorithm\r\nrepeatedly samples an assignment uniformly at random until
finding an\r\nassignment that satisfies a large enough fraction of clauses. Surprisingly,
we\r\ncan show the efficiency of this simpler approach by proving that in any\r\ninstance
of MAX-k-SAT (or more generally any instance of MAXCSP), an\r\nexponential number
of assignments satisfy a fraction of clauses close to the\r\noptimal value."

  text:
Boson sampling is a key candidate for demonstrating quantum advantage
and has already yielded significant advances in quantum simulation, machine learning,
and graph theory. In this work, a unification and extension of distinct forms
of boson sampling is developed. The devised protocol merges discrete-variable
scattershot boson sampling with continuous-variable Gaussian boson sampling. Therefore,
it is rendered possible to harness the complexity of more interesting states,
such as squeezed photons, in advanced sampling protocols. A generating function
formalism is developed for the joint description of multiphoton and multimode
light undergoing Gaussian transformations. The resulting analytical tools enable
one to explore interfaces of different photonic quantum-information-processing
platforms. A numerical simulation of unified sampling is carried out, benchmarking
its performance, complexity, and scalability. Entanglement is characterized to
exemplify the generation of quantum correlations from the nonlinear interactions
    of a unified sampler.

text: "By constructing a non-empty domain of discontinuity in a suitable homogeneous\r\nspace,
we prove that every torsion-free projective Anosov subgroup is the\r\nmonodromy
group of a locally homogeneous contact Axiom A dynamical system with\r\na unique
basic hyperbolic set on which the flow is conjugate to the refraction\r\nflow
of Sambarino. Under the assumption of irreducibility, we utilize the work\r\nof
Stoyanov to establish spectral estimates for the associated complex Ruelle\r\ntransfer
operators, and by way of corollary: exponential mixing, exponentially\r\ndecaying
error term in the prime orbit theorem, and a spectral gap for the\r\nRuelle zeta
function. With no irreducibility assumption, results of\r\nDyatlov-Guillarmou
imply the global meromorphic continuation of zeta functions\r\nwith smooth weights,
as well as the existence of a discrete spectrum of\r\nRuelle-Pollicott resonances
and (co)-resonant states. We apply our results to\r\nspace-like geodesic flows
    for the convex cocompact pseudo-Riemannian manifolds\r\nof Danciger-Gu\\'eritaud-Kassel,
and the Benoist-Hilbert geodesic flow for\r\nstrictly convex real projective manifolds."

  text: "Let $M$ be a symplectic manifold carrying a Hamiltonian $S^1$-action with\r\nmomentum
    map $J:M \\rightarrow \\mathbb{R}$ and consider the corresponding\r\nsymplectic
    quotient $\\mathcal{M}_0:=J^{-1}(0)/S^1$. We extend Sjamaar's complex\r\nof differential
forms on $\\mathcal{M}_0$, whose cohomology is isomorphic to the\r\nsingular cohomology
    $H(\\mathcal{M}_0;\\mathbb{R})$ of $\\mathcal{M}_0$ with real\r\ncoefficients,
to a complex of differential forms on $\\mathcal{M}_0$ associated\r\nwith a partial
desingularization $\\widetilde{\\mathcal{M}}_0$, which we call\r\nresolution differential
forms. The cohomology of that complex turns out to be\r\nisomorphic to the de
    Rham cohomology $H(\\widetilde{ \\mathcal{M}}_0)$ of\r\n$\\widetilde{\\mathcal{M}}_0$.
Based on this, we derive a long exact sequence\r\ninvolving both $H(\\mathcal{M}_0;\\mathbb{R})$
and $H(\\widetilde{\r\n\\mathcal{M}}_0)$ and give conditions for its splitting.
    We then define a Kirwan\r\nmap $\\mathcal{K}:H_{S^1}(M) \\rightarrow H(\\widetilde{\\mathcal{M}}_0)$
    from the\r\nequivariant cohomology $H_{S^1}(M)$ of $M$ to $H(\\widetilde{\\mathcal{M}}_0)$\r\nand
show that its image contains the image of $H(\\mathcal{M}_0;\\mathbb{R})$ in\r\n$H(\\widetilde{\\mathcal{M}}_0)$
under the natural inclusion. Combining both\r\nresults in the case that all fixed
point components of $M$ have vanishing odd\r\ncohomology we obtain a surjection
    $\\check \\kappa:H^\\textrm{ev}_{S^1}(M)\r\n\\rightarrow H^\\textrm{ev}(\\mathcal{M}_0;\\mathbb{R})$
in even degrees, while\r\nalready simple examples show that a similar surjection
in odd degrees does not\r\nexist in general. As an interesting class of examples
    we study abelian polygon\r\nspaces."

  text: "
Abstract
\r\n
Current megatrends
are influencing industrial production and leading to ever shorter innovation cycles.
The resulting fast pace of production requirements requires an accelerated development
of production systems and an associated increase in efficiency in factory planning.
Due to its knowledge-intensive activities, rough factory planning promises great
potential to be supported in its activities by innovative technologies such as
artificial intelligence. However, industrial companies face the challenge to recognize
the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in rough planning and to evaluate
possible applications in their business context. As a result, a systematic approach
for analyzing AI potential in rough factory planning was developed as part of
this work. The system includes a procedural model and several artefacts used in
it, which support the identification and evaluation of AI potential in organizations.
This approach not only streamlines the planning process but also aligns with sustainable
manufacturing principles by enhancing resource efficiency, promoting intelligent
system design, and fostering innovation in product development and manufacturing
    processes.
"

  text:
ABSTRACT:
This paper presents the MBSE-Graph-RAG
framework to address key challenges in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Traditional MBSE tools suffer from usability barriers, limited accessibility,
and integration challenges. By combining knowledge graphs with Retrieval-Augmented
Generation (RAG), the proposed framework enables AI-Augmented engineering through
natural language interactions and automated system architecture generation. A
systematic literature review establishes a solid research foundation, identifying
gaps in AI-assisted MBSE. Key contributions include a structured MBSE-Graph interface,
improved usability via Large Language Models (LLMs), and automated graph construction
aligned with SysML. A proof-of-concept demonstrates the potential of this approach
to enhance MBSE by reducing complexity, improving data accessibility, and supporting
    engineering collaboration.
