text: "To address the challenges associated with poor drug solubility and uncontrolled
drug release in conventional dosage forms, a combination of polymer design and
advanced drug delivery approaches has been employed. The development of pH-responsive
nanoparticles for controlled and selective drug release represents a notable advance
in adaptive nanomedicine. This study explores the design of a pH-responsive polymer,
poly(1,4-phenyleneacetone dimethylene ketal) (PPADK). Additionally, the incorporation
of light-responsive ortho-nitrobenzyl groups (o-NB-PPADK) enhanced the degradation
upon exposure to light. Based on the polymer, nanoparticles were prepared using
the solvent displacement method. The fluorescence dye Lumogen® Red was incorporated
as a model substance. The nanoparticles were characterized by dynamic light scattering
to determine their hydrodynamic diameter and size distribution, and the surface
charge was analyzed. Atomic force microscopy was used to visualize the surface
morphology. The nanoparticles remained stable under physiological pH conditions
while exhibiting accelerated degradation and substance release in acidic environment,
a property potentially exploitable for tumor targeting. Further enhanced degradation
and correspondingly increased release was achieved by incorporating light-responsive
elements in the polymer structure.\r\nThe cytotoxicity of these newly designed
nanoparticles was evaluated in cell culture using a breast cancer cell line. These
results support the potential of o-NB-PPADK nanoparticles as a possible candidate
for selective and effective cancer therapy, combining stimuli-responsive degradation
    mechanisms for improved therapeutic outcomes."

text: 'The tribological behavior of thermo‐responsive poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide)
(PNIPAAm)‐based microgels is investigated for use as water‐dispersible lubricant
additives. Two types of microgels are synthesized using a surfactant‐free emulsion
polymerization method: MG0, consisting of pure PNIPAAm with a volume phase transition
temperature (VPTT) of ≈33 °C, and MG16, consisting of PNIPAAm copolymerized with
hydrophobic tert‐butyl acrylamide, exhibiting a lower VPTT of around 23 °C. Swelling
and lubrication performance are evaluated at 20 and 40 °C. Both microgels significantly
reduce friction and wear compared to water alone. At 20 °C, MG0 remains fully
swollen and provides effective wear protection through hydrated microgel lubrication.
MG16, being near its VPTT, exhibits partial collapse and slightly higher wear.
At 40 °C, MG16 demonstrates improved wear resistance, attributed to enhanced film
compaction in the collapsed state. Raman spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy–energy‐dispersive
X‐ray spectroscopy confirm that carbon‐rich tribofilms are formed via tribochemical
reactions. MG0 produces more graphitic films, while MG16 generates amorphous carbon
structures. These findings highlight the tunability of microgel composition for
designing adaptive, water‐based lubricants for temperature‐sensitive applications.'

text: "This dataset contains experimental measurements of the radial dynamic and
quasi-static characteristics of four different types of Rubber-Metal Bushings
(RMBs) used in the suspension system of a passenger car under harmonic displacement
excitation. For each bushing type, 2–3 individual specimens were tested.\r\n \r\nQuasi-static
measurements were performed at a constant excitation frequency of 0.05 Hz with
varying displacement amplitudes. Dynamic measurements were conducted with displacement
amplitudes ranging from 0.04 mm to 0.3 mm and excitation frequencies of 2, 5,
10, ..., up to 100 Hz.\r\n\r\nThe data is structured by bushing type, measurement
mode, amplitude, and frequency, and is provided in *.csv and *.hrm format. It
is intended to support further research in modeling rubber-metal bushings and
    parameter identification techniques."

mobilen Augmented Reality Anwendung (mAR-App) namens PEARL (Paderborner Elektrotechnik
In insgesamt
in fünf abgestufte Lernlevel überführt.
Heatmaps
und Zeitverläufe in definierten Areas of Interest (AOI) liefern erste Hinweise

text: 'This thesis examines the development, testing, and evaluation of a mobile
augmented reality application (mAR app), which is designed as a preparation tool
for electrical engineering laboratory courses. The aim is to offer students an
opportunity to work with laboratory equipment - primarily the oscilloscope - realistically
without location and time constraints. The methodological basis is formed by the
macrocycle of design-based research (DBR) as a structured framework and the heuristic
model of the research pentagon, which specifies the implementation at the micro
level. Didactic, technological, motivational, and evaluative components are systematically
examined and further developed in a total of four research pentagons. The first
pentagon focuses on the development of a didactically sound concept based on the
principle of constructive alignment, which incorporates learning objectives, learning
activities, and forms of assessment into five graduated learning levels. These
range from initial orientation to independent problem-solving in a free experimentation
mode. The second phase evaluates the technical feasibility of augmented and virtual
reality (VR) in the laboratory environment using several prototypes. While VR
turns out to be unsuitable due to technical limitations, AR - especially in the
markerless version using the ARCore and ARKit software development kits (SDKs)
    - shows great potential for everyday use. In the third research pentagon, an onboarding
module is created based on the first version of the mobile app (V0.17.01), which
digitally maps the basic functions of a real oscilloscope. During this process,
users are introduced to the virtual oscilloscope and become familiar with the
main functions of the mAR app. The results show an overall neutral to slightly
positive user experience, although technical weaknesses (e.g., reaction time and
object fixing) negatively impact efficiency and controllability. In the fourth
research pentagon, an eye-tracking study is carried out to investigate visual
attention and individual solution strategies of expert and novice users when working
with real oscilloscopes. Heatmaps and time sequences in defined areas of interest
(AOI) provide first indications of differences in gaze behavior between the groups.
The algorithmic scan path analysis, on the other hand, reveals a low degree of
differentiation. The potential of eye tracking as an evaluation method is therefore
critically reflected, but it is still considered to be relevant for future studies
in light of technological advancements and the availability of eye trackers in
mixed reality (MR) glasses. The final summative evaluation is carried out in the
way of a pre-post test design with 70 participants and compares the usage of traditional
materials such as videos and manuals with the improved mAR app. In the intervention
group (IG), significant improvements emerge on both cognitive and affective levels:
performance increases particularly in the areas of application, understanding,
and analysis, while experimental self-concept and subject-related interest rise
and feelings of overload and anxiety regarding the lab courses decline. As a limitation,
the mAR app does not yield a clear advantage over the control group (CG), which
can be attributed both to the highly refined materials and videos used in the
CG and to technical constraints inherent to the mobile implementation: small displays,
2D interfaces on 3D devices, and imprecise touch interaction limit complex, sensitive
motor tasks. These limitations are also reflected in the accompanying user interface
(UI) and user experience (UX) questionnaires, which indicate mixed app ratings.
Both groups show significant learning gains - particularly in the areas of application,
understanding, and analysis. However, a significant advantage of the mAR App cannot
be proven. Affective characteristics such as experimental self-concept and general
experimental interests increase in both groups, while the feeling of fear before
conducting real laboratory work decreases. The app itself achieves average ratings
in user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) questionnaires. The thesis demonstrates
that, despite technical limitations, the mobile AR application can provide a valuable
alternative for preparing students for laboratory courses and familiarizing them
with laboratory equipment. From the very beginning, the primary goal during development
was a modular and flexible app architecture that can be extended with new devices,
tasks, and functions. The main benefit is not in the mobile application itself,
but in the strategic direction of future-oriented and scalable solutions for MR
glasses, which allow immersive and realistic gesture interactions.'

  text: "
Abstract
\r\n
Design of
single screw machines for polymer processing often focuses on the melt dominated
areas of the screw. However, solids conveying is a key aspect for processes with
high screw speeds, grooved feed sections, small screw diameters and material with
low bulk density. In injection moulding, throughput limitations are highly relevant
in packaging applications as due to low cooling times, plasticizing affects the
cycle time. In addition, insufficient solids conveying is a primary cause for
air residues in the melt and final product. Therefore, well-designed feed sections
are required, especially as direct processing of regrind in recycling applications
becomes more relevant due to governmental restrictions. Existing models for injection
moulding are based on analytical equations and do not allow to assess new feed
sections and feed opening designs, adapted to high screw speeds or regrind. In
this paper, numerical simulations based on the Discrete Element Method (DEM),
previously used in the field of extrusion, are carried out. In order to replicate
the cyclic, superimposed rotation and translation of the screw, a coupled approach
of DEM and Multibody Systems Simulation (MBS) is pursued. To verify the accuracy
of such coupled simulations, a special test setup is added to a conventional injection
moulding machine. Pure solids conveying is investigated, as DEM does not accommodate
for large plastic deformations or melting. Different screw and intake designs
as well as smooth and grooved barrels are investigated. Selected resins, pellet
shapes and regrind are processed, varying the processing parameters and comparing
the results to the simulation. The coupled approach replicates reality well in
terms of throughput, confirming that DEM can be utilised to further investigate
process phenomena and develop calculation models for solids conveying in injection
    moulding.
"

text: "Android applications collecting data from users must protect it according
to the current legal frameworks. Such data protection has become even more important
since in 2018 the European Union rolled out the General Data Protection Regulation
(GDPR). Since app developers are not legal experts, they find it difficult to
integrate privacy-aware practices into source code development. Despite these
legal obligations, developers have limited tool support to reason about data protection
throughout their app development process.\r\n This paper explores the use of
static program slicing and software visualization to analyze privacy-relevant
data flows in Android apps. We introduce SliceViz, a web tool that analyzes an
Android app by slicing all privacy-relevant data sources detected in the source
code on the back-end. It then helps developers by visualizing these privacy-relevant
program slices.\r\n We conducted a user study with 12 participants demonstrating
that SliceViz effectively aids developers in identifying privacy-relevant properties
in Android apps.\r\n Our findings indicate that program slicing can be employed
to identify and reason about privacy-relevant data flows in Android applications.
With further usability improvements, developers can be better equipped to handle
    privacy-sensitive information."

text: The rapid advancements in digital transformation have led to the emergence
of dataspaces as a pivotal element for industry-wide and cross-industry data integration
and interoperability across various businesses. Despite their potential, the adoption
and effective utilization of dataspaces by business stakeholders remain challenging.
This paper aims to address this gap by developing a comprehensive learning environment
tailored for business stakeholders. Through an interview study and an analysis
of the current state of research, we identify problem fields and derive key requirements
for the development of the learning environment. The proposed environment includes
a demonstrator and a training concept designed to enhance stakeholders' understanding
and capabilities in managing and leveraging dataspaces. Our findings contribute
to the body of knowledge by providing practical guidance through learning environments
for the deployment of dataspaces in business contexts and highlighting areas for
    future research.
