To the best of our knowledge, this system is the first inertial gradient-like system for multiobjective optimization problems including asymptotic vanishing damping, expanding the ideas previously laid out in [H. Attouch and G. Garrigos, Multiobjective Optimization: An Inertial Dynamical Approach to Pareto Optima, preprint, arXiv:1506.02823, 2015]. We prove existence of solutions to this system in finite dimensions and further prove that its bounded solutions converge weakly to weakly Pareto optimal points. In addition, we obtain a convergence rate of order \\(\\mathcal{O}(t^{-2})\\) for the function values measured with a merit function. While prior work emphasizes the potential of these technologies in various application domains, the process of visual attention in and across the contexts of AR/VR environments is not exhaustively explored yet. By now, visual attention in AR/VR environments has majorly been studied by means of overt attention (i.e. saccadic eye movements), self-report, and process-related visual attention proxies (like reaction time). In this work, we analyze covert visual attention based on the (psychological) Theory of Visual Attention (TVA), which allows us to quantify theory-based interpretable properties of the visual attention process. For example, the TVA allows us to measure the overall processing speed. We instantiate this TVA-based framework with a 30-participant explorative within-subjects study. The results show a decisive difference in visual attention between Reality (i.e. the neutral condition) and Virtual Reality and a weak difference between Reality and Augmented Reality. We discuss the consequences of our findings and provide ideas for future studies."}],"date_created":"2024-05-02T10:28:03Z","keyword":["Visual Attention","TVA","Cognitive Modelling","Bayesian Modelling","AR","VR"],"type":"conference","oa":"1","department":[{"_id":"66"},{"_id":"534"},{"_id":"424"}],"title":"Measuring Visual Attention Capacity Across xReality","status":"public","year":"2024","author":[{"last_name":"Biermeier","orcid":"0000-0002-2879-2359","first_name":"Kai","full_name":"Biermeier, Kai","id":"55908"},{"id":"451","full_name":"Scharlau, Ingrid","first_name":"Ingrid","orcid":"0000-0003-2364-9489","last_name":"Scharlau"},{"id":"8447","first_name":"Enes","orcid":"0000-0002-5967-833X","last_name":"Yigitbas","full_name":"Yigitbas, Enes"}],"date_updated":"2024-07-08T08:32:21Z","main_file_link":[{"url":"https://dl.acm.org/doi/pdf/10.1145/3652037.3652050","open_access":"1"}],"_id":"53816","publisher":"ACM","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"doi":"10.1145/3652037.3652050","user_id":"55908"},{"series_title":"Leibniz International Proceedings in Informatics (LIPIcs)","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"doi":"10.4230/LIPIcs.SAND.2024.15","publication_identifier":{"issn":["1868-8969"],"isbn":["978-3-95977-315-7"]},"author":[{"first_name":"Kristian","last_name":"Hinnenthal","full_name":"Hinnenthal, Kristian","id":"32229"},{"first_name":"David Jan","last_name":"Liedtke","full_name":"Liedtke, David Jan","id":"55557"},{"full_name":"Scheideler, Christian","first_name":"Christian","last_name":"Scheideler","id":"20792"}],"year":"2024","title":"Efficient Shape Formation by 3D Hybrid Programmable Matter: An Algorithm for Low Diameter Intermediate Structures","intvolume":" 292","date_updated":"2024-07-18T09:32:49Z","date_created":"2024-06-18T07:45:34Z","department":[{"_id":"79"}],"type":"conference","keyword":["Programmable Matter","Shape Formation","3D Model","Finite Automaton"],"publication":"3rd Symposium on Algorithmic Foundations of Dynamic Networks (SAND 2024)","abstract":[{"text":"This paper considers the shape formation problem within the 3D hybrid model, where a single agent with a strictly limited viewing range and the computational capacity of a deterministic finite automaton manipulates passive tiles through pick-up, movement, and placement actions. The goal is to reconfigure a set of tiles into a specific shape termed an icicle. The icicle, identified as a dense, hole-free structure, is strategically chosen to function as an intermediate shape for more intricate shape formation tasks. It is designed for easy exploration by a finite state agent, enabling the identification of tiles that can be lifted without breaking connectivity. Compared to the line shape, the icicle presents distinct advantages, including a reduced diameter and the presence of multiple removable tiles. We propose an algorithm that transforms an arbitrary initially connected tile structure into an icicle in 𝒪(n³) steps, matching the runtime of the line formation algorithm from prior work. Our theoretical contribution is accompanied by an extensive experimental analysis, indicating that our algorithm decreases the diameter of tile structures on average.","lang":"eng"}],"publisher":"Schloss Dagstuhl – Leibniz-Zentrum für Informatik","_id":"54807","page":"15:1–15:20","editor":[{"full_name":"Casteigts, Arnaud","first_name":"Arnaud","last_name":"Casteigts"},{"first_name":"Fabian","last_name":"Kuhn","full_name":"Kuhn, Fabian"}],"volume":292,"user_id":"55557","status":"public","place":"Dagstuhl, Germany","citation":{"ama":"Hinnenthal K, Liedtke DJ, Scheideler C.
