Dabei sollten menschliche Arbeitskräfte gezielt eingesetzt und unnötige Iterationen zwischen Abteilungen vermieden werden, wobei die Kommunikation zwischen Konstruktion und Berechnung eine entscheidende Rolle spielt. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wird eine Methode entwickelt, die es Konstrukteuren ermöglicht, mithilfe künstlicher neuronaler Netze schnell mechanisch optimierte Bauteilgeometrien vorzuschlagen und so Korrekturschleifen zu minimieren. Hierfür wird eine Entwicklungsumgebung analysiert, die die Integration neuronaler Netze in bestehende Konstruktions- und Optimierungsprozesse erlaubt, einschließlich der Definition von Eingaben, Ausgaben, Datenformaten, Datensätzen und Schnittstellen zu kommerzieller Software. Zur Sicher-stellung der generalisierten Nutzbarkeit der Trainingsdaten werden Bauteilgeometrien zunächst mithilfe geometrischer Primitive abstrahiert und anschließend zu Gesamtgeometrien zusammengesetzt. Die Machbarkeitsstudie zeigt, dass mechanisch optimierte Bauteilgeometrien auf diese Weise erfolgreich vorhergesagt werden können. Firstly, the reuse of products, individual parts and material reduces the need for new production or generation and the associated consumption of energy and resources. Secondly, it helps to avoid the generation of waste. Early consideration of circular economic principles in product development processes is essential to specifically promote reuse, reparability and recycling. Efficient recycling of assemblies requires well-defined strategies. However, various challenges hinder the efficiency of technical recycling processes in industrial applications. This paper presents an Ishikawa (fishbone) diagram-based approach to systematically identify and categorize these influences. The method is implemented within an industrial framework, highlighting key obstacles such as material composition, design constraints, use of technology, framework conditions, economic limitations and regulatory challenges. By applying a scenario analysis, this approach examines potential future developments and their impact on recycling-oriented design choices. This helps to identify critical influencing factors and supports the development of resilient and sustainable industrial practices. Rather, what is crucial is how technical, organizational, and communicative dimensions are interconnected and whether this results in recognizable added value for researchers in their day-to-day work. In this context, both intrinsic and extrinsic motivational factors influence the willingness to actively and continuously use research data management (RDM) systems.This article synthesizes experiences from two collaborating subprojects on information infrastructure (INF) within two Collaborative Research Centers. Both develop and operate RDM structures for interdisciplinary research consortia in the field of engineering and face comparable challenges: Adhering to the rules of good scientific practice when handling data is under pressure in today’s world; the benefits of individual data entries sometimes remain abstract, and additional process steps can reduce acceptance of technical solutions. The effort involved is primarily evaluated based on whether, from the researchers’ perspective, it yields a recognizable benefit. Based on this, specific approaches for user-oriented integration of different RDM levels are presented. These include the integration of RDM tools into existing research tools and workflows, cross-subproject access to information, as well as SPARQL-based search capabilities and future approaches to knowledge exploration. One concrete example is an implemented adapter that automatically transfers data sets from existing Excel files and electronic lab notebook entries from eLabFTW into the RDM system, thereby reducing the number of required process steps. Since the adapter was deployed, a measurable increase in the number of datasets imported into the RDM system has been observed. Such technical and procedural measures are complemented by workshops, personalized support, systematic feedback, and the continuous adaptation of the systems to the needs of researchers.This poster illustrates that RDM systems must be understood as sociotechnical systems. It is only through the interplay of infrastructure, process integration, communication, and perceived benefits that individual RDM developments can be transformed into a practical service. The collaboration between the two INF subprojects makes it possible to pool experiences, solution approaches, and transferable design principles across institutions and research consortia."},{"lang":"ger","text":"Die erfolgreiche Bereitstellung von Forschungsdaten hängt nicht allein von der technischen Qualität einzelner Systeme ab. Entscheidend ist vielmehr, wie technische, organisatorische und kommunikative Ebenen miteinander verbunden werden und ob daraus für Forschende ein erkennbarer Mehrwert im Arbeitsalltag entsteht. Dabei beeinflussen sowohl intrinsische als auch extrinsische Motivationsfaktoren die Bereitschaft, Systeme des Forschungsdatenmanagements (FDM) aktiv und kontinuierlich zu nutzen.Der Beitrag bündelt Erfahrungen aus zwei kooperierenden Teilprojekten zur Informationsinfrastruktur (INF) zweier Sonderforschungsbereiche. Beide entwickeln und betreiben FDM-Strukturen für interdisziplinäre Forschungsverbünde im ingenieurwissenschaftlichen Kontext und stehen vor vergleichbaren Herausforderungen: Der Umgang mit Daten nach den Regeln der guten wissenschaftlichen Praxis steht in der heutigen Zeit unter Druck, der Nutzen einzelner Eingaben bleibt mitunter abstrakt und zusätzliche Prozessschritte können die Akzeptanz technischer Lösungen verringern. Aufwand wird dabei wesentlich danach bewertet, ob ihm aus Sicht der Forschenden ein erkennbarer Nutzen gegenübersteht.Ausgehend davon werden konkrete Ansätze zur nutzerorientierten Verbindung unterschiedlicher FDM-Ebenen vorgestellt. Dazu zählen die Integration von FDM-Tools in bestehende Forschungswerkzeuge und Arbeitsabläufe, der teilprojektübergreifende Zugang zu Informationen sowie SPARQL-basierte Recherchemöglichkeiten und perspektivische Wissensexploration. Ein konkretes Beispiel ist ein implementierter Adapter, der Datensätze automatisiert aus bestehenden Excel-Dateien und aus elektronischen Laborbüchereinträgen von eLabFTW in das FDM-System überträgt und damit zusätzliche Prozessschritte reduziert. Nach Bereitstellung des Adapters lässt sich ein messbarer Anstieg der in das FDM-System eingespielten Datensätze beobachten. Ergänzt werden solche technischen und prozessualen Maßnahmen durch Workshops, persönliche Unterstützung, systematisches Feedback und die kontinuierliche Anpassung der Systeme an die Bedarfe der Forschenden.Der Beitrag verdeutlicht, dass FDM-Systeme als soziotechnische Systeme verstanden werden müssen. Erst das Zusammenspiel von Infrastruktur, Prozessintegration, Kommunikation und wahrgenommenem Nutzen macht aus einzelnen FDM-Entwicklungen einen praxistauglichen Dienst. The digital twin (DT) concept fulfils this requirements and is technically realised in the Eclipse BaSyx Asset Administration Shell (AAS) environment as a central hub for capturing models, measuring data and maintenance information. The implementation makes use of Industrial Digital Twin Association-Standards (IDTA) and models the train components in a hierarchical structure.\r\n\r\nHowever, in the current BaSyx implementation manually creating the hierarchical DT structures is error-prone and difficult to standardize. This paper presents an adapter that creates and maintains hierarchical DT structures based on predefined concepts. The adapter facilitates the annotation of heterogeneous data and models, their mapping to a desired DT hierarchy, and their deployment into a standardized BaSyx-based AAS infrastructure by providing an easy-to-use user interface. The hierarchical DT structure resembles the hierarchical structure of the system and its models and allows the exchange of parts or components physically and virtually.\r\n\r\nThe development of the adapter accompanied the development of physical, data-driven and hybrid models to enable predictive maintenance for rubber-metal springs in rail bogies. This paper uses a maturity-based process model to examine the implementation of research data management (RDM) in engineering projects. For this approach, activities are assigned to different maturity levels based on a maturity level characteristic providing a differentiated view of the implementation of RDM. Vor diesem Hintergrund untersucht das vorliegende Paper die Rolle der Kreislaufwirtschaft als wegweisendes Wirtschaftsmodell, das von der Europäischen Union gefördert wird. Ziel der Kreislaufwirtschaft ist es, den Ressourcenverbrauch und die Abfallproduktion zu minimieren, indem ein kontinuierlicher Kreislauf aus Nutzung, Wiederverwendung und Recycling von Materialien geschaffen wird. \r\nEin zentraler Aspekt dabei ist der Produktentwicklungsprozess (PEP) - ein vielschichtiger Prozess mit zahlreichen Einflussfaktoren und theoretisch unbegrenzten Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten. Diese Vielfalt führt jedoch zu erheblichen Entscheidungsunsicherheiten, die die Umsetzung von Kreislaufwirtschaftsprinzipien erschweren können. Um diese Herausforderungen zu adressieren, wird ein methodischer Prozess vorgestellt, der eine systematische Klassifizierung im Zusammenhang mit umliegenden Bauteilen ermöglicht. Die Methodik basiert auf einer strukturierten Bewertung von Bauteilen hinsichtlich ihrer Relevanz für die Kreislaufwirtschaft. Dabei werden zentrale Aspekte wie Wiederverwendbarkeit, Recyclingfähigkeit und Ressourceneffizienz berücksichtigt, darunter: \r\n•\tHandelt es sich um ein Gebrauchs- oder Verbrauchsprodukt?\r\n•\tIst das Bauteil eine Wiederverwendung oder eine Neufertigung?\r\n•\tIst das Bauteil standardisiert, zugekauft oder individuell ausgerichtet?\r\n•\tWelche primäre Funktion nimmt das Bauteil ein?\r\nDiese strukturierte Klassifizierung unterstützt die Entscheidungsfindung bereits früh im PEP. In den Organisationen der zivilen Gefahrenabwehr hingegen gibt es erhebliche Defizite bei der Erfassung und Weitergabe von Wissen, obwohl auch hier große Abhängigkeiten vom Erfahrungswissen bestehen. Diese Arbeit analysiert am Beispiel der Feuerwehr die Gründe für diese Diskrepanz und entwickelt ein Konzept, das das Wissensmanagement im Feuerwehrwesen nachhaltig verankern soll. Eine deutschlandweite Umfrage mit 577 Einsatzkräften ergab, dass eine digitale Verwaltungsunterstützung bereits verbreitet ist, das Wissen jedoch vornehmlich per E-Mail, Chat, mündlich oder per Aushang verteilt wird. Die Teilnehmenden wünschen sich eine Lösung für das Wissensmanagement, die im Einsatz, bei Aus- und Weiterbildung sowie der Verwaltungsarbeit unterstützt. Auf der Umfrage und einer systematischen Literaturrecherche aufbauend, wurde der Handlungsbedarf identifiziert. In civil emergency response organizations, on the other hand, there are considerable deficits in the acquisition and transfer of knowledge, although there is great dependence on empirical knowledge, too. This paper uses the example of the fire department to analyze the reasons for this discrepancy and develops a concept to anchor knowledge management in the fire department in the long term. A Germany-wide survey of 577 firefighters revealed that digital administrative support is already widespread, but that knowledge is primarily distributed by email, chat, verbally or via paper. The participants seek for a knowledge management solution that provides support during incients, training, as well as administrative work.Based on the survey and a systematic literature review, the need for action was identified. The areas of application and framework conditions, which are reflected in the requirements for a knowledge management system, are based on this. The implementation concept describes the system architecture of the solution, which is based on an open-source wiki with suitable extensions. The central element is the ability to share knowledge across organizational boundaries. This paper conducts a Systematic Literature Review at the intersection of the knowledge management field and disaster management and examines the available body of literature. Fire departments are chosen as the focus group as they are the most prevalent emergency services. There are many publications that deal with knowledge management during the response phase of an emergency. Often, the literature focuses on the application of knowledge management in large-scale disasters to link the various organizations on-scene. What is missing in most approaches is a prior step of implementing and training the knowledge management system. Therefore, this literature review seeks to provide an overview of approaches for daily routines and small-to-medium incidents that serve as a training ground. However, literature on non-incident phases and smaller incidents is scarce. As information technologies are developing rapidly, there is no modern and recent description of the current use of knowledge management solutions in this area."}]},{"abstract":[{"text":"Generative design suggestions and topology optimizations can help to reduce iterative process loops between calculation and design departments during product development processes. However, precise topology optimizations are computationally intensive, while generative designs benefit from swift suggestions to address design problems efficiently. Using artificial neural networks (ANN) can address this contrast of pre-defined aims by predicting topology-optimized designs, thereby combining both advantageous features. However, a challenge in Mass Customization is, that ANN are usually trained on specific geometries, making transfer to other applications impractical or requiring the creation of new datasets, which is economically unfeasible. Authors have already demonstrated a solution in other publications: dividing a geometry into geometric primitives like cuboids to perform abstraction. An ANN can then be trained to recognize optimized cuboids, which can be assembled back into a complete geometry, comparable to the finite element methods, which divide geometries of parts in finite elements enable mechanical property calculation. This publication aims to illustrate the steps of the approach in which the complete geometry of a part is segmented into these primitives, and the benefits obtained.
