Zudem soll die gängige Lesart, wonach Meyerbeers Chordramaturgie im Kern eine Dramaturgie der ›Massen‹ sei, differenziert und in bestimmter Hinsicht auch relativiert werden. Die Ensemble- und Chordramaturgien in Les Huguenots und Le Prophéte können gleichermaßen als Beispiele der eingangs umrissenen Scribe’schen dramaturgischen Grundtechnik gelesen werden, die darauf beruht, die Verständnisgrundlagen der Stücke vollständig und lückenlos im Inneren der Stücke selbst zu vermitteln. (Es gibt nichts, was man schon vorher über Hugenotten oder Anabaptisten wissen müsste, um die Intrigen von Les Huguenots bzw. Le Prophète in allen Details zu verstehen.)
