  abstract     = {{Information systems (IS) research is increasingly exploring the potential of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), such as large language models (LLMs). For design science research (DSR), such technologies foster entirely new vistas for the design of IT artifacts that make use of their generative capabilities, but also influence DSR methodology. This shift is much more profound than it has been discussed so far. To identify existing implications of GenAI for design-oriented research in IS, we report results from an integrative literature review of recent DSR publications in leading IS outlets. Thereby, we synthesize five major theoretical challenges that arise when using GenAI in DSR projects: (1) an obscure composition of the artifact, (2) an opaque contextualization of the LLM, (3) a fragile internal consistency of the artifact, (4) a rapid erosion of prescriptive knowledge, and (5) missing methodological guidance. We investigate these challenges and conceptualize a set of three guidelines that inform DSR in the rising era of GenAI. These guidelines support researchers in designing and justifying GenAI-related DSR processes and in precisely articulating the theoretical grounding of their design decisions and evaluation strategies.}},

                  <jats:p>Mechanical joining processes have played an increasingly important role in the manufacturing of modern lightweight structures due to a greater variety of materials. The growing number of joining tasks requires a large number of joining elements. Friction spun joint connectors (FSJC) offer an innovative approach that meets the growing demand for flexibility. This process combines rotational movement and axial force to create targeted friction heating, enabling the production of FSJCs and the joining of various sheet metal materials. The shape of the FSJC can be optimally adapted to the joining situation in question, providing a significant advantage in terms of process chain versatility. This paper investigates FSJCs made of the steel grades C45E+C (1.1191) and 115CrV3 (1.2210), the effect of in situ quenching during the joining process. The influences of the essential parameters of rotational speed, feed rate, and FSJC length on the mechanical properties after quenching are being focused on and compared to similar conditions during joining without quenching. At the same time, the material change is analyzed to determine the effect of different alloy approaches on hardness profiles and strength characteristics in cross-tensile testing. For this purpose, systematic test series with varying process parameters are conducted and evaluated using hardness measurements and cross-tensile tests.</jats:p>}},

                  <jats:p>The service life of fatigue-loaded components that already contain manufacturing‑induced microcracks is primarily governed by the direction and the rate of fatigue-crack growth. When multiple loading components (e.g., tension, compression, shear) act simultaneously but not in temporal synchrony, out‑of‑phase mixed‑mode conditions occur. Such loadings are typical for automotive chassis parts and mechanically joined sheet‑metal assemblies. For optimized design of structural components, the crack kinking angle that occurs under mixed‑mode loading must be predicted as accurately as possible. At present, however, this is still challenging for out‑of‑phase loading conditions. To investigate the associated crack kinking behavior, a novel Compact‑Tension‑Shear‑Mini (CTSM) specimen was developed, enabling controlled generation of plane out-of-phase mixed-mode loading states. Experiments were performed under various combinations of cyclic and static mode I and mode II load components and compared with the analytical predictions of the Out-of-Phase Mixed-Mode (OMM) concept. The measured crack kinking angles showed very good agreement with the predicted values, with mean deviations of only a few degrees, demonstrating the validity and reproducibility of the approach. These findings confirm the applicability of the OMM concept for describing fatigue‑crack propagation under non‑proportional mixed‑mode loading and provide a basis for fatigue‑life assessment of clinched joints and other cyclic multi-axially loaded components.</jats:p>}},

  abstract     = {{This article examines the most frequently attributed statement of Jesus in the Qur’an, namely, ‘God is my Lord and your Lord’ (Q 19:36; Q 43:64; Q 3:51; Q 5:72; Q 5:117). It investigates the extent to which this formula is connected to Jesus’s words to Mary Magdalene on Easter morning in John 20:17. The analysis aims to show that the Qur’an critically engages with the Christian interpretive tradition surrounding this statement as recorded in John’s Gospel and adapts it – both contextually and verbally – within its own theological framework. As in the Christian tradition, this Qur’anic engagement also generates a broader discourse on the hermeneutics of scriptural interpretation.}},

  abstract     = {{Due to their devastating consequences, so-called century floods attract significant public attention and are therefore covered in nationwide media. In journalistic reporting, numerous conceptual metaphors are used to conceptualise such extreme weather events. This linguistic study investigates how the century flood that occurred in southern Germany in late May and early June 2024 was metaphorically conceptualised in nationwide online journalism by identifying patterns of metaphorical conceptualisation. The analysis draws on the foundations of Conceptual Metaphor Theory as proposed by Lakoff and Johnson (1980), refined through the graded distinction of schematicity levels in conceptual structure proposed in Kövecses (2017, 2020, 2022) Extended Conceptual Metaphor Theory. Accordingly, metaphors are understood as schematically distinguishable mappings of conceptual aspects from source to target areas, through which particular actions are constituted. Adopting a mixed-methods approach that integrates manual with (semi-)automatic analytical procedures, the study reveals that the century flood is predominantly conceptualised through the highly schematic metaphor ZEIT IST SUBSTANZ (›time is substance‹), the less schematic metaphor NATURKATASTROPHEN SIND PERSONEN (›natural disasters are persons‹), and a set of least schematic, elaborating metaphors, namely HOCHWASSER IST GEGNER (›flood is an opponent‹), HOCHWASSER IST ZERSTÖRER (›flood is a destroyer‹) and HOCHWASSER IST MÖRDER (›flood is a murderer‹). From an ecolinguistic perspective, the study critically reflects on how these metaphorical conceptualisations obscure human co-responsibility for the intensity of extreme flood events.}},

AI-based requirements extraction using Large Language Models (LLMs) has the potential to support engineers in this task by analyzing large documents, for example. Existing evaluation approaches in AI-supported requirements engineering mainly assess individual requirements and their consistency with source documents, while quality criteria of requirements sets are largely neglected. This paper presents a five-step approach to evaluate the performance of current LLMs in generating requirements sets: a systematic literature review to identify quality criteria of requirements sets (1), exemplary generation of requirements sets from the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC using LLMs (2), examination (3), evaluation (4) and comparison (5) of the generated requirements sets. The results support engineers in selecting LLMs for creating requirement sets and in evaluating future LLMs.}},

                  <jats:p>Investigating the real-time interplay between language and vision has traditionally involved a trade-off between experimental control and interactive setups. To address this challenge, we present a methodological framework that embeds the visual world paradigm (VWP) within a continuous, goal-directed human–robot interaction (HRI) task. By augmenting VWP in an HRI setup to produce standardized yet responsive verbal and non-verbal behaviours, the framework makes it possible to selectively examine comprehension, production, actions and their relation to visual attention in real-time. We demonstrate the utility of the framework through a proof-of-concept manipulating action structure, specifically path and manner, as well as other-initiated repair formats, namely open and restricted requests. The findings show that the setup reliably captures time-locked referential gaze dynamics following comprehension and preceding production processes. They further indicate that differences in action history systematically influence speakers’ pre-verbal cognitive processes and their subsequent linguistic choices. These findings suggest that HRI can provide a useful methodological middle ground to investigate language processes online in a tightly controlled setup without disrupting the interaction. More broadly, the framework offers a test bed for examining whether established psycholinguistic findings extend to HRI setups. At the same time, it provides HRI researchers with an empirical basis for developing adaptive agents informed by online language-vision interaction theories.</jats:p>}},

Even more, depending on the goal, users could be dynamically but minimalistically supported in their autonomous actions.
