these judgments is also a crucial factor. In this study, we analyzed accuracy
and efficiency in medical Bayesian inferences. In an empirical study we varied
information format (probabilities vs. natural frequencies) and visualization (text
only vs. tree only) for four contexts. 111 medical students participated in this
study by working on four Bayesian tasks with common medical problems. The correctness
of their answers was coded and the time spent on task was recorded. The median
time for a correct Bayesian inference is fastest in the version with a frequency
tree (2:55 min) compared to the version with a probability tree (5:47 min) or
to the text only versions based on natural frequencies (4:13 min) or probabilities
(9:59 min).The scorediagnostic efficiency(calculated
by: median time divided by percentage of correct inferences) is best in the version
with a frequency tree (4:53 min). Frequency trees allow more accurateandfaster
judgments. Improving correctness and efficiency in Bayesian tasks might help to
decrease overdiagnosis in daily clinical practice, which on the one hand cause
cost and on the other hand might endanger patients’ safety.
'

text: "The online fitting of a microscopic traffic simulation model to reconstruct
the current state of a real traffic\r\narea can be challenging depending on the
provided data. This paper presents a novel method based on limited\r\ndata from
sensors positioned at specific locations and guarantees a general accordance of
reality and\r\nsimulation in terms of multimodal road traffic counts and vehicle
speeds. In these considerations, the actual\r\npurpose of research is of particular
importance. Here, the research aims at improving the traffic flow by\r\ncontrolling
the Traffic Light Systems (TLS) of the examined area which is why the current
traffic state and\r\nthe route choices of individual road users are the matter
of interest. An integer optimization problem is derived\r\nto fit the current
simulation to the latest field measurements. The concept can be transferred to
any road traffic\r\nnetwork and results in an observation of the current multimodal
traffic state matching at the given sensor\r\nposition. First case studies show
promosing results in terms of deviations between reality and simulation."

abstract:

Quantitatives muss an qualitatives, automatisches an manuelles Arbeiten\r\nrückgekoppelt

text:
Social robots have emerged as a new digital technology that is increasingly
being implemented in the educational landscape. While social robots could be deployed
to assist young children with their learning in a variety of different ways, the
typical approach in educational practices is to supplement the learning process
rather than to replace the human caregiver, e.g., the teacher, parent, educator
or therapist. When functioning in the role of an educational assistant, social
robots will likely constitute a part of a triadic interaction with the child and
the human caregiver. Surprisingly, there is little research that systematically
investigates the role of the caregiver by examining the ways in which children
involve or check in with them during their interaction with another partner—a
phenomenon that is known as social referencing. In the present study, we investigated
social referencing in the context of a dyadic child–robot interaction. Over the
course of four sessions within our longitudinal language-learning study, we observed
how 20 pre-school children aged 4–5 years checked in with their accompanying caregivers
who were not actively involved in the language-learning procedure. The children
participating in the study were randomly assigned to either an interaction with
a social robot or a human partner. Our results revealed that all children across
both conditions utilized social referencing behaviors to address their caregiver.
However, we found that the children who interacted with the social robot did so
significantly more frequently in each of the four sessions than those who interacted
with the human partner. Further analyses showed that no significant change in
their behavior over the course of the sessions could be observed. Findings are
discussed with regard to the caregiver's role during children's interactions with
social robots and the implications for future interaction design.

text:
Temperamental traits can decisively influence how children enter into
social interaction with their environment. Yet, in the field of child–robot interaction,
little is known about how individual differences such as shyness impact on how
children interact with social robots in educational settings. The present study
systematically assessed the temperament of 28 preschool children aged 4–5 years
in order to investigate the role of shyness within a dyadic child–robot interaction.
Over the course of four consecutive sessions, we observed how shy compared to
nonshy children interacted with a social robot during a word-learning educational
setting and how shyness influenced children’s learning outcomes. Overall, results
suggested that shy children not only interacted differently with a robot compared
to nonshy children, but also changed their behavior over the course of the sessions.
Critically, shy children interacted less expressively with the robot in general.
With regard to children’s language learning outcomes, shy children scored lower
on an initial posttest, but were able to close this gap on a later test, resulting
in all children retrieving the learned words on a similar level. When intertest
learning gain was considered, regression analyses even confirmed a positive predictive
role of shyness on language learning gains. Findings are discussed with regard
to the role of shyness in educational settings with social robots and the implications
for future interaction design.

text: '
Abstract
Objectives To assess the current
opinions and state of knowledge in primary sports injury prevention among members
of the German-Speaking Society for Orthopaedic and Traumatologic Sports Medicine
(GOTS).
Methods On 21 August 2019, a web-based questionnaire was
sent to the members of the tri-national society GOTS (Austria, Germany and Switzerland).
The survey was online until 21 November 2019 and included twenty-two questions,
which were divided into five sections: 1) general importance of prevention (n = 4),
2) specifications of the study population (n = 3), 3) implementation of prevention
(n = 8), 4) improvement opportunities in prevention (n = 4) and 5) future research
areas (n = 3).
Results A total of 272 participants completed the
survey, representing a total survey participation of 17.7 % of all members. The
study population consisted of orthopaedic surgeons (55 % with surgical and 21 %
with non-operative orientation), medical students (10 %), physical therapists
(8 %) and sports scientists (4 %). Ninety-four percent of all participants stated
that they considered the importance of sports injury prevention to be “very high”
(68 %) or “high” (26 %). However, almost 70 % of all participants stated that
they spend less than one hour per week on injury prevention work. The term “prevention”
was clearly defined and practicable for only 40 %, understandable but difficult
to implement for 51 %, and unclear and difficult to implement for 9 % of the participants.
Seventy-two percent of respondents were aware of existing prevention programs
such as “Stop-X” or “FIFA 11 +”, whereas 28 % of participants were uninformed
regarding these programs.
Conclusions A strong divergence was
identified between participants’ perception of the importance of sports injury
prevention and the existing implementation of preventive measures. Future funding
of prevention programs, expansion of research strategies for injury prevention
and better financial reimbursement are of utmost importance.
'

text: Lange galt unzuverlässiges Erzählen als Sonderfall homodiegetischen Erzählens,
was erst jüngst hinterfragt wurde.

text: Brand names are a common part of the everyday consumer environment, and can
be found on countless visual surfaces such as food packaging. A key characteristic
of brand names is their fixed design. Many brand names owe their linguistic form
to units that originally did not constitute proper names. They developed into
brand names through complex sub-processes of what is commonly referred to as onymisation.
These processes include semantic, morphological and phonological/graphemic changes.
The aim of this paper is to explore how the specific typographic design of a brand
name can be an additional indicator in its process of onymisation. After clarifying
the concepts of onymisation and typographic design, an extended multimodal construction
model is presented. The basis of the paper is an analysis of a corpus of image
data comprising more than 600 photographs of food packaging. In order to get a
first impression of how the multimodal constructions of brand names could look,
an omission test following a suggestion by Ziem (2017) is applied to the data.

text: 'Repetitive TMS (rTMS) with a frequency of 5-10~Hz is widely used for language
mapping. However, it may be accompanied by discomfort and is limited in the number
and reliability of evoked language errors. We, here, systematically tested the
influence of different stimulation frequencies (i.e., 10, 30, and 50 Hz) on tolerability,
number, reliability, and cortical distribution of language errors aiming at improved
language mapping. 15 right-handed, healthy subjects (m~=~8, median age: 29 yrs)
were investigated in two sessions, separated by 2-5 days. In each session, 10,
30, and 50 Hz rTMS were applied over the left hemisphere in a randomized order
during a picture naming task. Overall, 30 Hz rTMS evoked significantly more errors
(20 $\pm$ 12{%}) compared to 50 Hz (12 $\pm$ 8{%}; p {\textless}.01), whereas
error rates were comparable between 30/50 and 10~Hz (18 $\pm$ 11{%}). Across all
conditions, a significantly higher error rate was found in Session 1 (19 $\pm$
13{%}) compared to Session 2 (13 $\pm$ 7{%}, p {\textless}.05). The error rate
was poorly reliable between sessions for 10 (intraclass correlation coefficient,
ICC~=~.315) and 30 Hz (ICC~=~.427), whereas 50 Hz showed a moderate reliability
(ICC~=~.597). Spatial reliability of language errors was low to moderate with
a tendency toward increased reliability for higher frequencies, for example, within
frontal regions. Compared to 10~Hz, both, 30 and 50 Hz were rated as less painful.
Taken together, our data favor the use of rTMS-protocols employing higher frequencies
for evoking language errors reliably and with reduced discomfort, depending on
the region of interest.'

text:
Language assessment using a picture naming task crucially relies on
the interpretation of the given verbal response by the rater. To avoid misinterpretations,
a language-specific and linguistically controlled set of unambiguous, clearly
identifiable and common object–word pairs is mandatory. We, here, set out to provide
an open-source set of black and white object drawings, particularly suited for
language mapping and monitoring, e.g., during awake brain tumour surgery or transcranial
magnetic stimulation, in German language. A refined set of 100 black and white
drawings was tested in two consecutive runs of randomised picture order and was
analysed in respect of correct, prompt, and reliable object recognition and naming
in a series of 132 healthy subjects between 18 and 84 years (median 25 years,
64% females) and a clinical pilot cohort of 10 brain tumour patients (median age
47 years, 80% males). The influence of important word- and subject-related factors
on task performance and reliability was investigated. Overall, across both healthy
subjects and patients, excellent correct object naming rates (97 vs. 96%) as well
as high reliability coefficients (Goodman–Kruskal's gamma = 0.95 vs. 0.86) were
found. However, the analysis of variance revealed a significant, overall negative
effect of low word frequency (p < 0.05) and
high age (p < 0.0001) on task performance whereas
the effect of a low educational level was only evident for the subgroup of 72
or more years of age (p < 0.05). Moreover, a
small learning effect was observed across the two runs of the test (p
< 0.001). In summary, this study provides an overall robust and reliable
picture naming tool, optimised for the clinical use to map and monitor language
functions in patients. However, individual familiarisation before the clinical
use remains advisable, especially for subjects that are comparatively prone to
spontaneous picture naming errors such as older subjects of low educational level
and patients with clinically apparent word finding difficulties.
