  abstract     = {{Die effiziente Nutzung von Ressourcen ist in der modernen Produktentwicklung von zentraler Bedeutung, nicht nur im Hinblick auf Materialien, sondern auch angesichts des Fachkräftemangels. Dabei sollten menschliche Arbeitskräfte gezielt eingesetzt und unnötige Iterationen zwischen Abteilungen vermieden werden, wobei die Kommunikation zwischen Konstruktion und Berechnung eine entscheidende Rolle spielt. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wird eine Methode entwickelt, die es Konstrukteuren ermöglicht, mithilfe künstlicher neuronaler Netze schnell mechanisch optimierte Bauteilgeometrien vorzuschlagen und so Korrekturschleifen zu minimieren. Hierfür wird eine Entwicklungsumgebung analysiert, die die Integration neuronaler Netze in bestehende Konstruktions- und Optimierungsprozesse erlaubt, einschließlich der Definition von Eingaben, Ausgaben, Datenformaten, Datensätzen und Schnittstellen zu kommerzieller Software. Zur Sicher-stellung der generalisierten Nutzbarkeit der Trainingsdaten werden Bauteilgeometrien zunächst mithilfe geometrischer Primitive abstrahiert und anschließend zu Gesamtgeometrien zusammengesetzt. Die Machbarkeitsstudie zeigt, dass mechanisch optimierte Bauteilgeometrien auf diese Weise erfolgreich vorhergesagt werden können. Obwohl noch gewisse Einschränkungen bestehen hinsichtlich der Schnittstellendefinition zwischen den Primitiven oder der Umrechnung von globalen auf lokale Randbedingungen, bietet die Methode eine solide Grundlage für weiterführende Forschungsarbeiten in diesem Bereich.}},

  abstract     = {{Continuous flow catalysis utilizing gel-bound organocatalysts within a microfluidic reactor represents a compelling strategy in the realm of organic synthesis. In this study, a quinuclidine-based catalytic monomer (QMA) was synthesized to create polymer gel dots through the process of photopolymerization that serve as a support for the catalyst. The resulting gel-bound organocatalysts were assembled within a continuous microfluidic reactor to facilitate the Baylis–Hillman reaction between various aldehydes and acrylonitrile at a temperature of 50 °C. The conversion of the product was assessed using 1H NMR spectroscopy as an offline analytical method over a duration of 8 h. The findings indicated that highly reactive aldehydes achieved conversion rates exceeding 90%, in contrast to their less reactive counterparts. Furthermore, these results were juxtaposed with previously published data derived from alternative synthetic methodologies, revealing that the continuous microfluidic reactions employing integrated organocatalysts within polymer networks exhibited significantly higher conversions with reduced reaction times (8 h) at the same temperature (50 °C). Additionally, the influence of different geometries (round, triangular, and square) of the gel dots on catalytic activity was investigated, with round and square gel dots demonstrating slightly superior performance compared with triangular gel dots, attributed to their increased surface area. Moreover, an extended reaction period of 6 days was conducted using 4-bromobenzaldehyde and acrylonitrile, resulting in a conversion rate exceeding 70%, which remained stable for 5 days before experiencing a slight decline due to product accumulation on the gel dots.}},

  abstract     = {{Few principalities were as interwoven with European politics and as prone to dichotomous debate as the East Frisian Jever. At the mouth of the Weser and in the back of the Dutch republic, Jever conjoined the Western and Nordic struggles of the seventeenth century. It proved crucial during the French invasions of the Low Countries and it enabled Denmark-Norway to march on a wider front against Swedish possessions on the continent. When the Danish king in 1677 tried to add Jever to his Oldenburg titles, he was thus locked in a conflict between Spain and France regarding the overlordship over Jever. This revealed larger interests because Jever was connected to the Holy Roman Empire through feudal bonds with the Spanish Netherlands and the Burgundian Circle that unified these Netherlands. The presentation will show how the prima vista dichotomy of French or Spanish overlordship over Jever carried the real debate whether Jever – and thus the Spanish Netherlands – belonged to the Empire or not. In claiming the right to hand Jever to Denmark for an alliance, French Louis XIV not only severed the Spanish Netherlands from imperial support. He also disintegrated them. Spain therefore couldn’t accept foreign overlordship over Netherlandish fiefs and needed Jever to solicit Danish support against the French. Meanwhile, the Emperor fought the intrusion of France’s Réunion policy in the Empire whilst Brandeburg and Sweden meddled to manoeuvre Denmark within the ongoing Nordic struggle. The outcome of the debate (at the imperial Diet as well as the Danish court) would ultimately decide the margins within the Empire to choose alliances. Jever thus demonstrates how interwoven dependencies of territories could provoke dichotomies that shifted strategic policies.}},

                  <jats:p>Social media is integral to adolescents’ daily lives and plays an important role in their health- and fitness-related behavior, particularly through trends such as #fitspiration, a portmanteau of “fit” and “inspiration.” This trend has become a prominent aspect of adolescents’ fitness culture. Empirical studies demonstrate that while #fitspiration holds the potential to motivate adolescents to be physically active, it also perpetuates gender-stereotyped, predominantly White, ableist, and normative body ideals associated with fitness and an idealized weight. This trend can be linked to an increased risk of body image concerns or disordered eating among adolescents. Understanding adolescents’ engagement with fitspiration content is crucial for tailoring health and media literacy education within physical education. Therefore, a systematic review of qualitative and quantitative studies was conducted. A search of five electronic databases yielded 312 abstracts, of which 12 met the inclusion criteria. The analysis of the selected studies was based on thematic analysis and included both primary and secondary data. Seven analytical themes emerged: (1) 37–56% of adolescents actively engage with fitspiration content on social media; (2) it fulfills their need for informal and accessible participation; (3) it fosters a sense of social connection; (4) they derive inspiration from peers and influencers; (5) they aspire to idealized body standards; (6) they seek quick solutions when dissatisfied with their bodies; and (7) a few become demotivated and critical when unable to achieve these ideals. Consequently, educators should balance the potential benefits with media literacy interventions to mitigate risks such as body image issues and eating disorders.</jats:p>}},

                  <jats:p>Vitamin D has been associated with depression, potentially via anti-inflammatory mechanisms, yet data is scarce, particularly in adolescence. We investigated (1) whether lower vitamin D status is associated with greater depression severity and (2) whether this association is statistically moderated by inflammation in patients of a child and adolescent psychiatry department. At admission fasting morning venous blood was drawn. Serum vitamin D (25(OH)D) and C-reactive protein (CRP) were analyzed in all participants [n=465 (64.7%♀; 11.3-18.9 years)]. In a subsample [n=177], we additionally measured tumor necrosis factor-alpha, interferon-gamma and interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10. Depression severity was assessed by the Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II) [n=450], the Diagnostic System for Mental Disorders in Childhood and Adolescence via self-assessment (DISYPS Self) [n=441], and parent-assessment (DISYPS Proxy) [n=422]. Overall, 43.2% [n=201] were at risk for vitamin D deficiency (&lt;30nmol/L), and 73.5%-83.2% –depending on assessment tool– showed at least mild depression. Linear regression revealed an inverse association between 25(OH)D and BDI-II in both crude and CRP-adjusted full-sample models. Logistic regressions showed a robust inverse association between 25(OH)D and DISYPS Proxy, but not for DISYPS Self. Although 25(OH)D was inversely correlated with some pro-inflammatory markers, neither their inclusion in regression models nor formal mediation analyses supported inflammation as a mediator of the vitamin D–depression association. Overall, our results suggest that vitamin D relates modestly to both depression and inflammation in adolescence. However, based on the measured parameters, we cannot confirm that anti-inflammatory effects are the link between vitamin D and depression.</jats:p>}},

  abstract     = {{<jats:p>Clinched joints with non-rotationally symmetric geometries exhibit orientation-dependent mechanical behavior that is commonly neglected in structural-scale simulations. Reuleaux triangle shaped clinched joints, in particular, show pronounced in-plane anisotropy depending on their orientation. While such effects have been studied at joint and specimen scale, their relevance at the structural level remains largely unexplored. In this work, the influence of joint orientation on the bending response of a joined structure is investigated using numerical simulations. A simplified joint replacement model based on the *CONSTRAINED_SPR2 point-connector formulation in LS-DYNA is employed, with parameters calibrated from previously obtained experimental force displacement data. A hat shaped profile structure subjected to three-point bending is analyzed in a parametric study considering variations in joint orientation, joint spacing, and profile geometry. The results show that joint orientation has little influence during the initial deformation phase but becomes increasingly significant at larger displacements, where joint behavior governs load transfer. Orientation dependent effects are found to influence the global force displacement response and local load redistribution among joints, with magnitudes comparable to those induced by changes in joint spacing and structural geometry. The findings confirm that joint orientation effects remain relevant at the structural level and should be considered in the design of structures assembled using non-rotationally symmetric clinched joints.</jats:p>}},
