  abstract     = {{This paper focuses on the failure behavior of clinched specimens with various stiffnesses under shear tensile loading. The primary objective is to assess the influence of the specimen stiffness with an arrangement of clinched joints. The specimen stiffness depends on several variables. In addition to the material selection, the specific choice of geometry and the design of the clinched joints must also be taken into account. A number of experiments was conducted to investigate the failure behavior of specimens with an arrangement of three clinched joints under shear tensile loading. These configurations were subjected to shear tensile tests, with force displacement curves recorded for each specimen to provide a detailed characterization of their structural response. The stiffness is modified by altering the specimen width, which has marginal impact on the maximum force. The experimental findings indicate that reducing the specimen stiffness results in a shift in the type of stress, with the failure behavior becoming increasingly influenced by bending stress. These results offer important insights for the design of clinched joint assemblies, indicating that it is feasible to achieve the desired properties by changing the specimen stiffness.}},

  abstract     = {{Non-rotationally symmetrical joints can have different properties that can be controlled by the joint orientation. This hypothesis is tested using a Reuleaux triangle joint geometry. A tool design is carried out, followed by a numerical sensitivity analysis of the tool geometry. Initial tools were manufactured for experimental investigations and then adapted based on the findings of the sensitivity analysis. The joints are characterized by micrographs, 3D scans, shear tensile tests, head tensile tests and three-point bending tests and compared with a round geometry. The analysis confirms the hypothesis. Thus, joints with adaptable properties can be produced with one tool set.}},

          <jats:p>Kinder verbringen zunehmend mehr Zeit in öffentlichen Bildungseinrichtungen. Eine zentrale Bildungsinstitution ist die Ganztagsgrundschule. Die dortige Planung und Umsetzung von Bewegung und Sport ist bisher nur punktuell beforscht. Es mangelt unter anderem an Befunden aus der Sicht der verschiedenen Akteur*innen sowie an Kenntnissen zur bewegungsbezogenen Qualifikation des Personals.</jats:p>
          <jats:p>Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Teilstudie des Projektes „Move For Health“ werden diese Desiderate aufgegriffen. Die Untersuchung erfolgte mittels qualitativer Interviews an acht Ganztagsgrundschulen. Es wurden 52 Interviews mit insgesamt 140 Personen durchgeführt. Diese setzen sich aus acht Fokusgruppeninterviews mit im Ganztag tätigem Personal sowie 44 Interviews mit Kindern der dritten und vierten Klasse zusammen.</jats:p>
          <jats:p>Die Resultate zeigen, dass Bewegung übergreifend in unterschiedlichen Inszenierungen stattfindet und auch von den Akteur*innen als wesentlich erachtet wird. Grundsätzlich sehen alle Befragten die Relevanz von Bewegung, benennen jedoch konkrete Bedarfe und Wünsche, die sich sowohl auf Räume und Materialen als auch auf Wissen und Kompetenzen (bspw. im methodisch-didaktischen Bereich) beziehen. Kinder artikulieren im pädagogischen Spannungsfeld von Gegenwartserfüllung und Zukunftsperspektive vielfältige Bedürfnisse und Ideen zur Ausgestaltung. Dem Personal mangelt es häufig an Kompetenzen im methodisch-didaktischen Bereich oder an Wissen über das Thema Sicherheit, um die Bewegung entsprechend zu inszenieren.</jats:p>}},

Wenn diese Ungerechten zudem untereinander Kriege führen, unter dessen Auswirkungen man leidet, ohne dass man die Möglichkeit hätte einzugreifen? Wer kann in dieser Ohnmacht noch Glück finden? Und an die Herrscher gefragt: Wie muss der ideale Politiker sein? Hierauf wollte Justus Lipsius Antworten anbieten. Die Bedeutung dieser Fragen, die auch heute noch relevant sind, wird aus seiner eigenen Zeit heraus nochmal präsent. Lipsius lebte nämlich in Zeiten intensiver politischer und vor allem religiöser Konflikte, welche seine Biografie in mehreren Punkten berühren. Er musste nicht nur mehrmals vor Konflikten fliehen, sondern seine Werke wurden auch äußerst kritisch von der Kirche und den Landesherren betrachtet. In diesem Beitrag wird zunächst kurz der Werdegang Lipsius‘ geschildert, bevor auf zwei seiner wichtigsten Werke und deren Einfluss auf die Staatslehre jener Zeit eingegangen wird.}},

                  <jats:title>Objective</jats:title>
                  <jats:p>This cross-sectional study aimed to investigate subjective and objective deficits of neurocognitive function, balance and vestibulo-ocular performance in athletes with sport-related concussion (SRC) compared with healthy control athletes.</jats:p>
               </jats:sec>
               <jats:sec>
                  <jats:title>Methods</jats:title>
                  <jats:p>72 patients with SRC and 72 matched healthy controls were included. All participants performed computerised testing of neurocognitive function, device-assisted balance testing and objective evaluation of vestibulo-ocular function (video head impulse and dynamic visual acuity test). Clinical symptom clusters (headache/migraine, anxiety/mood, fatigue, cognitive, vestibular, ocular) were determined for each patient using the Sport Concussion Assessment Tool, 5th edition symptom evaluation. Independent t-tests or Mann-Whitney U tests were calculated to test for group differences in the whole cohort and according to clinical symptom clusters.</jats:p>
               </jats:sec>
               <jats:sec>
                  <jats:title>Results</jats:title>
                  <jats:p>When investigating the whole cohort, significant differences between patients with SRC and control subjects were found in one parameter of balance testing (sway velocity double-firm), with lower performance in the SRC group (p&lt;0.001, r=0.345). The number of symptom clusters assigned to the SRC patients ranged from 0 (no definite cluster) to 6 (all clusters), and all clusters were frequent in the investigated cohort. Patients with vestibular, cognitive and fatigue symptom clusters demonstrated significantly lower performance in balance testing compared with SRC patients without those clusters (p&lt;0.001 to p=0.005, r=0.368–0.439). Additionally, SRC patients presenting with symptoms of the fatigue cluster demonstrated significantly worse performance in vestibulo-ocular testing compared with SRC patients without the fatigue cluster (p=0.006, d=0.781).</jats:p>
               </jats:sec>
               <jats:sec>
                  <jats:title>Conclusion</jats:title>
                  <jats:p>SRC patients presented with variable numbers and qualities of clinical symptom clusters. Some subjective clusters were associated with abnormal objective tests of other clusters (vestibular, cognitive and fatigue with abnormal balance; and fatigue with abnormal vestibulo-ocular performance). Clinical symptom clusters and their overlap should be considered when examining patients with SRC.</jats:p>

            <jats:title>Purpose</jats:title>
            <jats:p>Repetitive head impacts due to heading in soccer may bear the potential to induce brain changes. To investigate how brain development is affected by heading, effects of heading exposure on neurocognitive and vestibular performance in adolescent soccer players were prospectively examined.</jats:p>
          </jats:sec>
          <jats:sec>
            <jats:title>Methods</jats:title>
            <jats:p>In this longitudinal cohort study, male and female high-level youth soccer players of different ages were enrolled in two seasons. Age-matched athletes of other ball sports were included as controls. Before and after each season, neurocognitive performance (6 domain scores), vestibulo-ocular reflex, dynamic visual acuity, and postural control (sway velocity) were objectively assessed in all athletes. Every soccer training and match during the observation period was videotaped to analyze individual heading exposure. Associations between heading frequency (total, in duels, &gt;20 m flight distance) and pre- to post-changes were investigated via Spearman correlation.</jats:p>
          </jats:sec>
          <jats:sec>
            <jats:title>Results</jats:title>
            <jats:p>103 soccer and 51 control athletes (9-19 years) participated. Neurocognitive scores and sway velocity significantly improved in each season in soccer and control athletes. There were no associations between total heading numbers and changes in any parameter. Over the first season, the more headers played in duels (r = -0.255, 95%CI = -0.474 to -0.006, p = 0.04) and from &gt;20 m distance (r = -0.299, 95%CI = -0.510 to -0.055, p = 0.02) the less psychomotor speed improvement occurred. In the second season, improvements in reaction time were significantly smaller with higher numbers of headers played in duels (r = 0.375, 95%CI = 0.043 to 0.632, p = 0.02) and from &gt;20 m distance (r = 0.359, 95%CI = 0.025 to 0.621, p = 0.03).</jats:p>
          </jats:sec>
          <jats:sec>
            <jats:title>Conclusions</jats:title>
            <jats:p>Potential high-impact headers may have affected neurocognitive improvements, exhibiting small to moderate effects. Therefore, more high-impact headers may be more important to consider than solely the overall heading exposure in discussions about adverse effects in youth soccer.</jats:p>

  abstract     = {{Despite its status as a key enabling technology, the adoption of 5G in
industry remains limited, mainly due to a lack of expertise, which can be addressed
by incorporating 5G training into vocational schools. Since Augmented Reality
(AR) faces similar challenges, it is used as the 5G application. This research aims
to determine the extent to which a learning unit using 5G and AR for collaborative
work can increase the intention to use these technologies in the vocational setting
and gathers the factors that make up 5G acceptance. It is based on the Technology Acceptance Model 2 (TAM2). The sample includes 23 industrial mechanics
students who participated in the developed learning unit. All items are scored on
seven-tiered Likert scales (0 “totally disagree”; 6 “totally agree”).
The results showed a non-significant change in behavioural intention to use
5G, with a mean of 4.95 (SD: 1.18) for the pre-test and 4.43 (SD: 1.68) for the posttest. The change in intention to use AR did not change significantly either, from
3.12 (SD: 1.38) at pre-test to 3.37 (SD: 1.16) at post-test. The factors Perceived
Usefulness, Image, and Relevance had the lowest mean scores, indicating areas for
targeted improvement. The significant change in Output Quality ratings is likely to
reflect initial overestimation by students. The difference in Behavioural Intentions
between 5G and AR suggests that AR may not be an effective technology for
increasing 5G adoption in educational contexts. One recommendation is to address
5G in the learning unit not only indirectly.}},

  abstract     = {{<jats:p>This paper discusses the influence of joint orientation with non-rotationally symmetric geometry, on load distribution and structural behavior. The focus is on understanding how changes in the alignment of individual joints affect the distribution of load, neighboring joints, and the overall performance of the component. Lap shear specimens with multiple joints arranged in a line are analyzed to explore these effects. Simplified models are used to model the joints in finite element simulations, allowing for efficient yet accurate analysis of the load distribution and structural response under varying joint orientations. Variations in joint orientation result in measurable changes in the distribution of forces on adjacent joints, influencing their behavior and that of the overall assembly. Experimental validation confirms the numerical results, providing deeper insights into the interaction between individual joints and their surroundings. This work contributes to the development of systematic approaches for optimizing the design of components with non-rotationally symmetric joints. The study highlights the importance of considering directional properties of joints in designing structural components.</jats:p>}},
