  abstract     = {{Wall slip is a long-known phenomenon in the field of rheology. Nevertheless, the origin and the evolution are not completely clear yet. Regarding suspensions, the effect becomes even more complicated, because different mechanisms like pure slip or slip due to particle migration have to be taken into account. Furthermore, suspensions themselves show many flow anomalies and the isolation of slip is complicated. In order to develop working physical models, further insight is necessary. In this work, we measured experimentally the wall slip velocities of different highly filled suspensions in a rectangular slit die directly with respect to the particle concentration and the particle size. The slip velocities were obtained using a particle image velocimetry (PIV) system. The suspensions consisting of a castor oil–cinnamon oil blend and PMMA particles were matched in terms of refractive indexes to appear transparent. Hereby, possible optical path lengths larger than 15 mm were achieved. The slip velocities were found to be in a quadratic relation to the wall shear stress. Furthermore, the overall flow rate as well as the particle concentration has a direct influence on the slip. Concerning the shear stress, there seem to be two regions of slip with different physical characteristics. Furthermore, we estimated the slip layer thickness directly from the velocity profiles and propose a new interpretation. The PIV technique is used to investigate the viscosity and implicit the concentration profile in the slit die. It is shown that the particle migration process is quite fast.}},

  abstract     = {{Characterization and application of (meso)porous materials often require information about the density of the respective samples. For example, the BET surface area is, by definition, normalized to the sample mass; hence, any comparison between samples of different composition needs to take into account their respective densities. Literature data on the densities of porous materials are scarce. Frequently, only bulk-phase densities are available which sometimes differ from those of porous samples, especially for amorphous systems, such as silica or carbon. The apparent density, i.e. the density of the sample excluding the gas-accessible pore volume, is typically determined by helium gas pycnometry utilizing specialized pycnometers. We demonstrate how to obtain the same data from standard N2 physisorption measurements as part of the regular measurement routine. We evaluate the method by reference measurements utilizing a non-porous reference sample (glass rod) to confirm the validity of the method. Then we present results on apparent density measurements of several mesoporous silica materials (MCM-41, MCM-48, SBA-15, KIT-6), mesoporous carbon (CMK-3, -5, -8, -9), and a variety of mesoporous metal oxides obtained by nanocasting.}},

Die Studie dient als Momentaufnahme der Mehrsprachigkeit an deutschen Schulen. Sie ermöglicht einen Einblick in die Einstellungen und Wünsche der Lehrkräfte sowie die Handlungsräume und Ressourcen der Schulen im Umgang mit sprachlich heterogenen Lern(er)gruppen. Die Ergebnisse führen vor Augen, dass Mehrsprachigkeit schon lange schulischer Alltag und Unterrichtsrealität ist. Deshalb sind dort die Potenziale von Kindern und Jugendlichen mit nicht-deutscher Erstsprache zu entwickeln und die Sprachfähigkeiten deutscherstsprachiger Lern(er)gruppen zu fördern.}},

  abstract     = {{In this chapter, we present an introduction to the ReconOS operating system for reconfigurable computing. ReconOS offers a unified multi-threaded programming model and operating system services for threads executing in software and threads mapped to reconfigurable hardware. By supporting standard POSIX operating system functions for both software and hardware threads, ReconOS particularly caters to developers with a software background, because developers can use well-known mechanisms such as semaphores, mutexes, condition variables, and message queues for developing hybrid applications with threads running on the CPU and FPGA concurrently. Through the semantic integration of hardware accelerators into a standard operating system environment, ReconOS allows for rapid design space exploration, supports a structured application development process and improves the portability of applications between different reconfigurable computing systems.}},

  abstract     = {{Den additiven Fertigungsverfahren wird ein hohes Potential zugesprochen, die industrielle Fertigung von Bauteilen und Werkzeugen nachhaltig zu ändern. Dies gilt auch für das hier betrachtete Laserstrahlschmelzen, bei dem metallische Werkstoffe in Pulverform verarbeitet werden. Durch den schichtweisen Aufbau können dabei enorme Vorteile gegenüber konventionellen Fertigungsverfahren erzielt werden, was sich u. a. in einem bis dato unerreichten Maß an Geometriefreiheit widerspiegelt.

Allerdings werden die Werkstoffeigenschaften teils erheblich durch kurze und intensive Wechselwirkungen zwischen Laser und Werkstoff bestimmt. Hierdurch können sich werkstoff-spezifische Nachteile gegenüber konventionellen Fertigungsverfahren ergeben, die eine weitreichende Etablierung des Laserstrahlschmelzens erschweren.

Vor diesem Hintergrund zielt die vorliegende Dissertation auf eine Analyse und ggf. Optimierung der mikrostrukturellen und mechanischen Eigenschaften laserstrahlgeschmolzener Werkstoffe. Der Schwerpunkt liegt hierbei auf einer Ermüdungsbeanspruchung, da Einflüsse prozess-induzierter Defektstrukturen unter dieser Beanspruchungsform besonders deutlich werden. Durch umfangreiche Untersuchungen können dabei Prozessrouten aufgezeigt werden, die für die betrachteten Werkstoffe TiAl6V4 und 316L den detektierten Schädigungsmechanismen Rechnung tragen und somit zu einer technologischen Konkurrenzfähigkeit des Laserstrahlschmelzens führen.}},
