To achieve this goal, not only do the cryptographic primitives and protocols need to be secure in theory, they also need to be securely implemented by cryptographic library developers in practice. However, implementing cryptographic algorithms securely is challenging, even for skilled professionals, which can lead to vulnerable implementations, especially to side-channel attacks. For timing attacks, a severe class of side-channel attacks, there exist a multitude of tools that are supposed to help cryptographic library developers assess whether their code is vulnerable to timing attacks. Previous work has established that despite an interest in writing constant-time code, cryptographic library developers do not routinely use these tools due to their general lack of usability. However, the precise factors affecting the usability of these tools remain unexplored. While many of the tools are developed in an academic context, we believe that it is worth exploring the factors that contribute to or hinder their effective use by cryptographic library developers [61]. To assess what contributes to and detracts from usability of tools that verify constant-timeness (CT), we conducted a two-part usability study with 24 (post) graduate student participants on 6 tools across diverse tasks that approximate real-world use cases for cryptographic library developers. We find that all studied tools are affected by similar usability issues to varying degrees, with no tool excelling in usability, and usability issues preventing their effective use. Based on our results, we recommend that effective tools for verifying CT need usable documentation, simple installation, easy to adapt examples, clear output corresponding to CT violations, and minimal noninvasive code markup. Wenig ist bislang jedoch über die Entwicklung des schulischen\r\nWohlbefindens in inklusiven Klassen der Sekundarstufe I bekannt. Im Rahmen ei-\r\nnes internen Evaluationsprozesses an der Laborschule Bielefeld, der inklusiven Ver-\r\nsuchsschule des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen, hat ein interdisziplinäres Team im\r\nForschungs- und Entwicklungsprojekt „Wohlbefinden und Inklusion an der Labor-\r\nschule – eine Selbstreflexion“ die Selbsteinschätzungen der Schüler*innen hinsicht-\r\nlich ihres schulischen Wohlbefindens untersucht. Hierzu wurden alle Schüler*innen\r\nder Jahrgangstufen 6 bis 10 zwischen 2013 und 2018 jährlich zu einer Befragung\r\neingeladen. Auf der Grundlage des zugehörigen, mit vielen Messzeitpunkten und\r\nhoher Beteiligungsquote ausgestatteten längsschnittlichen Datensatzes, wurden fürden vorliegenden Beitrag lineare und quadratische Verläufe des schulischen Wohl-\r\nbefindens von Schüler*innen aus inklusiven Lerngruppen der Sekundarstufe I ver-\r\ngleichend analysiert.\r\nUnter Berücksichtigung von insgesamt sechs Komponenten des schulischen\r\nWohlbefindens zeigt sich für zwei Komponenten eine lineare Entwicklung: Die\r\nAffinität zur Stammgruppe (bzw. zur eigenen Klasse) nimmt über die Sekundarstu-\r\nfe I leicht ab, ebenso die wahrgenommenen sozialen Probleme in der Schule. Die\r\nVerläufe der drei Komponenten Einstellungen und Emotionen gegenüber der Schule,\r\nschulischer Selbstwert und Sorgen wegen der Schule werden hingegen signifikant\r\nbesser durch eine quadratische Modellierung abgebildet. Für diese zeigt sich mit\r\nzunehmender Jahrgangsstufe eine weniger ausgeprägte Abnahme (Einstellungen\r\nund Emotionen gegenüber der Schule, Abwesenheit von Sorgen wegen der Schule),\r\nder teilweise eine Zunahme in höheren Jahrgangsstufen folgt (schulischer Selbstwert). Das Ausmaß körperlicher Beschwerden verändert sich nicht signifikant in\r\nAbhängigkeit von der Jahrgangsstufe. Das von einem multiprofessionellen Team getragene Vorhaben untersuchte über insgesamt mehr als 10 Jahre,\r\ninwiefern sich alle Schüler:innen, insbesondere jene mit sonderpädagogischem Förderbedarf, als sozial integriert wahrnehmen und in mehrfacher Hinsicht wohlfühlen (z.B. Külker et al., im\r\nErscheinen, Kullmann et al, im Erscheinen, Marker et al., angenommen).\r\nDer Beitrag charakterisiert die Skala „Affinität zur Stammgruppe“ bzw. Schulklasse (3 Items, C-Alpha: .85) aus theoretischer sowie statistisch-empirischer Perspektive und referiert\r\nBefunde aus verschiedenen Teilanalysen zu diesem Qualitätsindikator sozialer Integration. Dieser wurde zwischen 2013 und 2018 in allen Lerngruppen der Stufen sechs bis zehn jährlich\r\nim Rahmen eines papiergestützten Fragebogens erfasst, mit insgesamt über 650 Teilnehmenden und mehr als 1.800 Fragebögen.\r\nDer Skalenmittelwert liegt für die jeweiligen Gesamtstichproben in einem schulpädagogisch wünschenswert hohen Bereich, wobei für einzelne Messzeitpunkte – und damit nicht\r\nsystematisch – Unterschiede in der Größenordnung eines kleinen bis mittleren Effekts zu Ungunsten einzelner Schülergruppen zu verzeichnen sind. Historians have dealt with not paying taxes in various contexts, such as analysing tax resistance and tax resistance movements in history. Tax law is best understood as an outcome of long-term, often conflictual, negotiations and as an expression of specific political mentalities and ideologies. As a consequence, tax law and sometimes even the tax juridical system have a strongly politicised character. In order to further investigate its complexity\r\nand the potential of quantum algorithms for quantum chemistry, Gharibian and Le\r\nGall (STOC 2022) recently introduced the guided local Hamiltonian problem\r\n(GLH), which is a variant of the local Hamiltonian problem where an\r\napproximation of a ground state is given as an additional input. Gharibian and\r\nLe Gall showed quantum advantage (more precisely, BQP-completeness) for GLH\r\nwith $6$-local Hamiltonians when the guiding vector has overlap\r\n(inverse-polynomially) close to 1/2 with a ground state. In this paper, we\r\noptimally improve both the locality and the overlap parameters: we show that\r\nthis quantum advantage (BQP-completeness) persists even with 2-local\r\nHamiltonians, and even when the guiding vector has overlap\r\n(inverse-polynomially) close to 1 with a ground state. Moreover, we show that\r\nthe quantum advantage also holds for 2-local physically motivated Hamiltonians\r\non a 2D square lattice. In the process of moralisation, therefore, faith communities such as the Catholic Church also repeatedly seized the floor to propagate certain norms. The article examines the contributions of theologians from Spain, the USA and West Germany in the 1940s and 1950s. It concludes that the norms of taxation they propagated differed greatly depending on the institutional and economic frameworks within which they operated. A third-harmonic zero-sequence voltage injection with an optimal amplitude and phase angle transforms the 2nd harmonic to a 4th harmonic DC-link voltage ripple. This reduces the voltage ripple by exactly 50% for all power factors at steady-state at balanced conditions. However, this requires 54% additional modules for unity power factor operation and even 100% for pure reactive power operation to account for the increased reference arm voltages due to the large amplitude of the optimal third-harmonic injection. If not enough modules are available, an adaptive discontinuous PWM is utilized to still minimize the voltage ripple for the given number of modules and power factor. With a very limited number of modules (modulation index is 1.15), the proposed method still reduces the DC-link voltage ripple by 24.4% for unity power factor operation. It requires the same number of modules as the commonly utilized 3rd harmonic injection with 1/6 of the grid voltage amplitude and achieves superior results.
