This assessment gap is addressed in this thesis by developing and validating a role-play-based simulation (RobS) designed for the summative assessment of pre-service EFL teachers' feedback competence on writing. Drawing on theories from multiple disciplines, such as higher education, medical education, teacher education, educational psychology, and EFL-specific didactics, the RobS is developed as a performance-oriented assessment format. In the RobS, pre-service EFL teachers engage in a feedback conversation with trained actors who portray a standardized learner. Following an argument-based approach to validation, the extent to which the RobS can be considered valid is investigated. Data from multiple studies, focusing on aspects such as authenticity, fairness, reliability, and external validity, are presented. The discussion in the validity argument indicates that the RobS can elicit and assess the performative facet of feedback competence on writing with sufficient confidence. This work contributes a novel, empirically supported assessment framework to teacher education research. Moreover, it presents an approach to address the assessment gap, enabling pre-service EFL teachers to show how they provide feedback, rather than just tell their lecturers about it.","lang":"eng"}],"has_accepted_license":"1","doi":"https://doi.org/10.30819/5994","file":[{"relation":"main_file","date_updated":"2025-12-23T07:31:25Z","date_created":"2025-12-23T07:31:25Z","content_type":"application/pdf","file_id":"63404","access_level":"open_access","file_name":"Janzen, T. Since Augmented Reality\r\n(AR) faces similar challenges, it is used as the 5G application. This research aims\r\nto determine the extent to which a learning unit using 5G and AR for collaborative\r\nwork can increase the intention to use these technologies in the vocational setting\r\nand gathers the factors that make up 5G acceptance. It is based on the Technology Acceptance Model 2 (TAM2). The sample includes 23 industrial mechanics\r\nstudents who participated in the developed learning unit. All items are scored on\r\nseven-tiered Likert scales (0 “totally disagree”; 6 “totally agree”).\r\nThe results showed a non-significant change in behavioural intention to use\r\n5G, with a mean of 4.95 (SD: 1.18) for the pre-test and 4.43 (SD: 1.68) for the posttest. The change in intention to use AR did not change significantly either, from\r\n3.12 (SD: 1.38) at pre-test to 3.37 (SD: 1.16) at post-test. The factors Perceived\r\nUsefulness, Image, and Relevance had the lowest mean scores, indicating areas for\r\ntargeted improvement. The significant change in Output Quality ratings is likely to\r\nreflect initial overestimation by students. The difference in Behavioural Intentions\r\nbetween 5G and AR suggests that AR may not be an effective technology for\r\nincreasing 5G adoption in educational contexts. One recommendation is to address\r\n5G in the learning unit not only indirectly."}],"title":"The Influence of an Immersive-Collaborative Learning Unit on the Technology Acceptance of 5G and AR of Industrial Mechanic Students"},{"user_id":"69283","citation":{"ieee":"L. Such systemsare essential for businesses seeking trustworthy partners, as they help reduce infor-mation asymmetry, lower buyers’ transaction risks, and allow high-quality serviceproviders to justify premium pricing. Unlike traditional review-based systems in thebusiness-to-consumer (B2C) context, we propose a B2B reputation mechanism inwhich buyers commit to a rating payment before a transaction. Once the buyer final-izes the rating, this payment is executed and recorded on a blockchain as an immu-table, secure ledger. Our system mimics natural trust-building mechanisms with rat-ings that are (1) monetary-based, (2) stake-based, (3) non-aggregated, (4) involvecounter-ratings, (5) selectively sellable, (6) individually comparable, (7) stored ona blockchain, (8) and monitored by a third instance. This system provides a novelapproach to fostering trust in B2B transactions by reducing information asymme-try and transaction risk. We illustrate the mechanism’s application in the consultingsector. Our analysis has identified 23 institutional trust and distrust dimensions thatpromote establishing institutional trust through the proposed mechanism. Qualita-tive interviews suggest that, while complex and challenging to apply, this mecha-nism can foster trust in B2B transactions. Given the low maturity in the applicationdomain—rating professional business services with business reputation systems—and solution domain—using monetary stakes for ratings, this system stands as apotential invention."}],"doi":"https://doi.org/10.1007/s10257-025-00702-9"},{"abstract":[{"text":"Despite the fundamental role the Quantum Satisfiability (QSAT) problem has\r\nplayed in quantum complexity theory, a central question remains open: At which\r\nlocal dimension does the complexity of QSAT transition from \"easy\" to \"hard\"?\r\nHere, we study QSAT with each constraint acting on a $k$-dimensional and\r\n$l$-dimensional qudit pair, denoted $(k,l)$-QSAT. Our first main result shows\r\nthat, surprisingly, QSAT on qubits can remain $\\mathsf{QMA}_1$-hard, in that\r\n$(2,5)$-QSAT is $\\mathsf{QMA}_1$-complete. In contrast, $2$-SAT on qubits is\r\nwell-known to be poly-time solvable [Bravyi, 2006]. Our second main result\r\nproves that $(3,d)$-QSAT on the 1D line with $d\\in O(1)$ is also\r\n$\\mathsf{QMA}_1$-hard. Finally, we initiate the study of 1D $(2,d)$-QSAT by\r\ngiving a frustration-free 1D Hamiltonian with a unique, entangled ground state.\r\n Our first result uses a direct embedding, combining a novel clock\r\nconstruction with the 2D circuit-to-Hamiltonian construction of [Gosset, Nagaj,\r\n2013]. Of note is a new simplified and analytic proof for the latter (as\r\nopposed to a partially numeric proof in [GN13]). This exploits Unitary Labelled\r\nGraphs [Bausch, Cubitt, Ozols, 2017] together with a new \"Nullspace Connection\r\nLemma\", allowing us to break low energy analyses into small patches of\r\nprojectors, and to improve the soundness analysis of [GN13] from\r\n$\\Omega(1/T^6)$ to $\\Omega(1/T^2)$, for $T$ the number of gates. Our second\r\nresult goes via black-box reduction: Given an arbitrary 1D Hamiltonian $H$ on\r\n$d'$-dimensional qudits, we show how to embed it into an effective null-space\r\nof a 1D $(3,d)$-QSAT instance, for $d\\in O(1)$. Our approach may be viewed as a\r\nweaker notion of \"simulation\" (\\`a la [Bravyi, Hastings 2017], [Cubitt,\r\nMontanaro, Piddock 2018]). As far as we are aware, this gives the first\r\n\"black-box simulation\"-based $\\mathsf{QMA}_1$-hardness result, i.e. for\r\nfrustration-free Hamiltonians.","lang":"eng"}],"intvolume":" 325","doi":"10.4230/LIPIcs.ITCS.2025.85","title":"Quantum 2-SAT on low dimensional systems is $\\mathsf{QMA}_1$-complete: Direct embeddings and black-box simulation","author":[{"last_name":"Rudolph","id":"57863","first_name":"Dorian","full_name":"Rudolph, Dorian"},{"orcid":"0000-0002-9992-3379","last_name":"Gharibian","id":"71541","full_name":"Gharibian, Sevag","first_name":"Sevag"},{"last_name":"Nagaj","full_name":"Nagaj, Daniel","first_name":"Daniel"}],"external_id":{"arxiv":["2401.02368"]},"citation":{"short":"D. Die vorgestellten Untersuchungen dienen schlussendlich zu einer Bestätigung des vorteilhaften Prozessverhaltens von Wave-Schnecken."},{"lang":"eng","text":"The extrusion process is the dominant processing method for thermoplastics in terms of quantity. For this reason, there are strong efforts in this area towards greater economic efficiency, which can be achieved, for example, through higher mass throughput with the same machine size, or, with regard to a circular economy, towards material-preserving processing. Both endeavours require special screw concepts. These include wave screws, which should demonstrate advantageous process behaviour in both areas. However, the design of wave screws requires a better understanding of the geometry-dependent process behaviour in extrusion. \r\nTwo topics are addressed in the dissertation. The first topic is the derivation of a method to characterise the degradation behaviour of thermoplastics and the use of the characterisation as a predictive model. The second topic deals with the design of wave screws based on numerical simulations including validation using seven energy transfer screws in comparison to three conventional screws. Among other things, the material degradation, the thermal and the material homogeneity are considered in order to create a comprehensive picture of the process behaviour of the screws. The presented investigations ultimately serve to confirm the advantageous process behaviour of wave screws."}],"title":"Materialschonende Verarbeitung von Thermoplasten auf Wave-Schnecken"},{"department":[{"_id":"176"}],"citation":{"bibtex":"@article{Widmann_Gaidai_Schubert_Grummt_Bensen_Kerling_Quermann_Zacher_Vollrath_Bizjak_et al._2024, title={COVID-19 in Female and Male Athletes: Symptoms, Clinical Findings, Outcome, and Prolonged Exercise Intolerance—A Prospective, Observational, Multicenter Cohort Study (CoSmo-S)}, DOI={<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1007/s40279-023-01976-0\">10.1007/s40279-023-01976-0</a>}, journal={Sports Medicine}, publisher={Springer Science and Business Media LLC}, author={Widmann, Manuel and Gaidai, Roman and Schubert, Isabel and Grummt, Maximilian and Bensen, Lieselotte and Kerling, Arno and Quermann, Anne and Zacher, Jonas and Vollrath, Shirin and Bizjak, Daniel Alexander and et al.}, year={2024} }","mla":"Widmann, Manuel, et al. “COVID-19 in Female and Male Athletes: Symptoms, Clinical Findings, Outcome, and Prolonged Exercise Intolerance—A Prospective, Observational, Multicenter Cohort Study (CoSmo-S).” <i>Sports Medicine</i>, Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2024, doi:<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1007/s40279-023-01976-0\">10.1007/s40279-023-01976-0</a>.","short":"M. Athletes from the federal squad with no evidence of SARS-CoV-2 infection served as healthy controls (EAcon, n = 501). Questionnaires were used to assess load and duration of infectious symptoms, other complaints, exercise tolerance, and duration of training interruption at baseline and at follow-up 6 months after baseline. Diagnostic tests conducted at baseline included resting and exercise electrocardiogram (ECG), echocardiography, spirometry, and blood analyses.
\r\n
\r\n
Results
\r\n
Most acute and infection-related symptoms and other complaints were more prevalent in cNEA than in cEAs. Compared to cEAs, EAcon had a low symptom load. In cNEAs, female athletes had a higher prevalence of complaints such as palpitations, dizziness, chest pain, myalgia, sleeping disturbances, mood swings, and concentration problems compared to male athletes (p &lt; 0.05). Until follow-up, leading symptoms were drop in performance, concentration problems, and dyspnea on exertion. Female athletes had significantly higher prevalence for symptoms until follow-up compared to male. Pathological findings in ECG, echocardiography, and spirometry, attributed to SARS-CoV-2 infection, were rare in infected athletes. Most athletes reported a training interruption between 2 and 4 weeks (cNEAs: 52.9%, cEAs: 52.4%), while more cNEAs (27.1%) compared to cEAs (5.1%) had a training interruption lasting more than 4 weeks (p &lt; 0.001). At follow-up, 13.8% of cNEAs and 9.9% of cEAs (p = 0.24) reported their current exercise tolerance to be under 70% compared to pre-infection state. A persistent loss of exercise tolerance at follow-up was associated with persistent complaints at baseline, female sex, a longer break in training, and age &gt; 38 years. Periodical dichotomization of the data set showed a higher prevalence of infectious symptoms such as cough, sore throat, and coryza in the second phase of the pandemic, while a number of neuropsychiatric symptoms as well as dyspnea on exertion were less frequent in this period.
\r\n
\r\n
Conclusions
\r\n
Compared to recreational athletes, elite athletes seem to be at lower risk of being or remaining symptomatic after SARS-CoV-2 infection. It remains to be determined whether persistent complaints after SARS-CoV-2 infection without evidence of accompanying organ damage may have a negative impact on further health and career in athletes. Identifying risk factors for an extended recovery period such as female sex and ongoing neuropsychological symptoms could help to identify athletes, who may require a more cautious approach to rebuilding their training regimen.
\r\n
\r\n
Trial Registration Number
\r\n
Dementsprechend versucht dieser Beitrag mit einem systematischeren Ansatz als dem der gesellschaftlichen Selbstbeschreibung, die Entwicklung des sozio-digitalen Phänomens „soziale Medien“ in dessen Zeitkontext einzuordnen.","lang":"eng"}]},{"year":"2024","publication_identifier":{"issn":["0209-9683","1439-6912"]},"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"status":"public","date_created":"2023-12-20T10:31:27Z","publisher":"Springer Science and Business Media LLC","date_updated":"2024-03-22T12:11:35Z","_id":"49905","intvolume":" 44","author":[{"last_name":"Ma","id":"92748","first_name":"Yulai","full_name":"Ma, Yulai"},{"full_name":"Mattiolo, Davide","first_name":"Davide","last_name":"Mattiolo"},{"orcid":"0000-0002-9808-7401","full_name":"Steffen, Eckhard","first_name":"Eckhard","id":"15548","last_name":"Steffen"},{"full_name":"Wolf, Isaak Hieronymus","first_name":"Isaak Hieronymus","id":"88145","last_name":"Wolf"}],"department":[{"_id":"542"}],"citation":{"bibtex":"@article{Ma_Mattiolo_Steffen_Wolf_2024, title={Edge-Connectivity and Pairwise Disjoint Perfect Matchings in Regular Graphs}, volume={44}, DOI={<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1007/s00493-023-00078-9\">10.1007/s00493-023-00078-9</a>}, journal={Combinatorica}, publisher={Springer Science and Business Media LLC}, author={Ma, Yulai and Mattiolo, Davide and Steffen, Eckhard and Wolf, Isaak Hieronymus}, year={2024}, pages={429–440} }","mla":"Ma, Yulai, et al. “Edge-Connectivity and Pairwise Disjoint Perfect Matchings in Regular Graphs.” <i>Combinatorica</i>, vol. 44, Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2024, pp. 429–40, doi:<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1007/s00493-023-00078-9\">10.1007/s00493-023-00078-9</a>.","short":"Y.
