text: The idea of a combined reference model- and view-based specification approach
has been proposed recently in the software engineering community. In this paper
we present a specification technique based on graph transformations which supports
such a development approach. The use of graphs and graph transformations supports
an intuitive understanding and an integration of static and dynamic aspects on
a well-defined semantical base. On this background, formal notions of view and
view relation are developed and the behaviour of views is described by a loose
semantics. We define a construction for automatic view integration which assumes
that the dependencies between different views are described by a reference model.
The views and the reference model are kept consistent manually, which is the task
of a model manager. All concepts and results are illustrated at the well-known
example of a banking system.

text: Dieses Buch verknüpft Technikgeneseforschung und Netzwerkanalyse, um auf diese
Weise ein soziologisches Modell von Innovationsprozessen zu entwickeln, das auf
unterschiedlichste Fallbeispiele anwendbar ist. In kritischer Auseinandersetzung
mit bisherigen Konzeptualisierungen von Technikentwicklung wird Technikgenese
hier als ein mehrstufiger Prozeß der sozialen Konstruktion von Technik aufgefaßt,
der von wechselnden Akteurkonstellationen getragen wird und mehrere Phasen durchläuft.
Für den Erfolg einer neuen Technik ist es entscheidend - so lautet eine der Schlüsselthesen
-, ob es den Technikkonstrukteuren gelingt soziale Netzwerke zu konstituieren
und derart zu stabilisieren, daß sie eine solide Basis für ein Technikprojekt
bilden. Dieses Modell wird an empirischen Beispielen sowohl staatlich getragener
Technikentwicklung (Airbus, Transrapid) als auch privatwirtschaftlich erzeugter
Technik (Personal Computer, Astra-Satellit) überprüft. Da sich diese Fälle trotz
ihrer Heterogenität nach einem einheitlichen Prinzip beschreiben lassen, ist es
möglich, Ansatzpunkte für eine soziale Gestaltung von Innovationsprozessen zu
identifizieren.

text: Modeling of human knowledge and reasoning requires the formulation of uncertainty
in its various forms. Fuzzy logic was introduced to directly support these applications
(H. Zimmermann, 1991). Fuzzy control (FC) which is based on fuzzy logic allows
one to control complex systems based on qualitative information like human knowledge
(C. Geiger and G. Lehrenfeld, 1994). In fuzzy logic, fuzzy sets are usually defined
and manipulated by means of complex mathematics, whereas the fuzzy control process
is frequently outlined by visual sketches based on set diagrams in order to enhance
the comprehension of the inference process. The rule based execution of this process
usually follows the lines of rule based visual programming languages (VPLs), i.e.,
languages comparable to Agentsheets and ChemTrains. This strongly indicates that
VPLs are thus well applicable for this use. We first outline the basic concepts
of fuzzy logic and fuzzy control. Thereafter, we sketch a visual language which
integrates fuzzy set diagrams in the visual representation of rules. The basic
concepts are inherited from the complete visual programming language, Pictorial
Janus (PJ). However, we significantly simplify PJ's visual concepts in order to
adapt it for our purpose.

text: '3D-graphics are becoming popular in a steadily increasing number of areas
such as entertainment, scientific visualization, simulation, and virtual reality.
Despite this rapid growth the generation of animated 3D scenes is by no means
trivial. Since animated 3D objects evolve over time the authors denote these objects
as 4D. The article presents a novel approach to the rapid prototyping of 4D models.
They introduce the AAL (Animated Agent Layer) system. AAL is an interpreter-based
approach covering a textual (AAL-PR) as well as a visual command language (AAL-VL)
for the specification of the dynamics in 4D scenes. AAL provides support for different
levels of abstraction: primitives, structured objects, animated objects, and animated
(autonomous) agents.'

text: "We present a data structure problem which describes the requirements of a
simple variant of fully dynamic walk-through animation: We assume the scene to
consist of unit size balls in R2 or higher dimensions. The scene may be arbitrarily
large and has to be stored in secondary memory (discs) with relatively slow access.
We allow a visitor to walk in the scene, and a modeler to update the scene by
insertions and deletions of balls. We focus on the realtime requirement of animation
systems: For some t (specified by the computation power of (the rendering hardware
of) the graphic workstation) the data structure has to guarantee that the balls
within distance t of the current visitor's position are presented to the rendering
hardware, 20 times per second. Insertions and deletions should also be available
to the visitor with small delay, independent of the size of the scene. We present
a data structure that fulfills the above task in realtime. Its runtime is output-sensitive,
i.e. linear in a quantity close to the output size of the query. We further present
(preliminary) experimental results indicating that our structure is efficient
in practice.\r\n"
