text: "Urged by the European Energy Crisis and the threatening consequences of severe\r\nnatural
gas shortages, energy providers launched gas-saving initiatives incor-\r\nporating
financial incentives to reduce residential natural gas consumption. In\r\ncollaboration
with one of Germany’s largest energy providers, we conducted\r\na natural field
experiment (N = 2,598) to evaluate the effectiveness of a\r\nbehaviorally-guided
co-design of such a gas-saving initiative by implementing\r\ntwo established behavioral
instruments – reminders of gas saving intentions and\r\ndescriptive norm feedback.
Our findings show limited effectiveness of the behav-\r\nioral instruments during
the high-price period. The feedback risks a “boomerang\r\neffect” among households
with above-average initial savings, who reduce their\r\nconservation efforts in
response. The reminder does not significantly enhance sav-\r\nings in our main
specifications, yet, realizes 1 percentage point savings in alternate\r\nmodels
refining for outliers. Potential mechanisms include a significant intention-\r\naction
gap and misperceived effectiveness of energy-saving actions, which are not\r\nalleviated
    by the reminder."

abstract:

text: 'Explanations play a central role in everyday face-to-face interactions by
helping people share knowledge, clarify ideas, and support understanding. In face-to-face
explanations, explainers (i.e., the more knowledgeable part) seek to enhance explainees’
understanding of an explanandum through interactional processes such as monitoring,
scaffolding, and co-constructions (Buschmeier et al., 2023; Rohlfing et al., 2021).
While co-constructions emerge from the bidirectional (non-)verbal exchange between
the interlocutors, scaffolding refers to the process by which the explainers tailor
an explanation by employing different forms of behavior in response to the explainees''
behavior signaling their cognitive processing (Wood et al., 1976). Monitoring
denotes a continuous process in which the interlocutors attend to perceptual evidence,
such as (non-)verbal behaviors, to identify and interpret cues of (mis)understanding
(Clark &amp; Krych, 2004).In the present thesis, I report five studies on dyadic
human–human explanations, and based on empirical findings, I discuss the interactional
dynamics underpinning some forms of the verbal and nonverbal explaining behavior.
To this end, in the reported studies, I analyzed data from two video corpora on
different domains of everyday explanations, such as medical and board game explanations.
The corpus on medical explanations comprises eleven naturalistic interactions
between physicians and caregivers about an upcoming pediatric surgery. The corpus
on board game explanations consists of 87 dyadic board game explanations, from
which a subsample of 24 interactions was specifically addressed in the reported
studies. To explore the verbal explaining behavior, I examined the relation between
topical shifts in explanations and the explainees’ multimodal behavior as monitored
by the explainers in two studies addressing the domains of medical and board game
explanations. The analysis of medical explanations suggests that shifts from elaborations
to new topics are associated with the explainees'' multimodal behavior that comprises
gaze aversions, co-occurring with head nodding, and vocal backchanneling, whereas
shifts into elaborations are associated with a sustained gaze direction, whether
accompanied by additional cues or not (Lazarov et al., 2024). A subsequent study
on board game explanations (Lazarov &amp; Grimminger, under review) extended this
analysis by incorporating the explainers’ gaze behavior. The study investigated
the relation of mutual gaze and gaze withdrawals to the initiation of new topics.
The findings corroborated those from the medical context: the explainees'' gaze
withdrawals precede topical changes more frequently than mutual gaze, which corresponds
to prior research by (Rossano, 2012, 2013). The analysis further investigated
the relation between the initiator of gaze withdrawals and the initiator of topical
changes. To examine the nonverbal explaining behavior, I analyzed the use of co-speech
gestures by different explainers in three studies on board game explanations,
during which the explanandum was physically absent from the shared space. Although
this absence implies a persistent need for establishing joint imagined spaces
(Kang et al., 2015; Kinalzik &amp; Heller, 2021), for example, by continuously
pointing at invisible locations, the study by Lazarov &amp; Grimminger (2025)
revealed that gesture iconicity and temporal highlighting also occur variably
across explanation topics about object features, action processes, and conditional
rules.Motivated by the continuous use of gesture deixis during the physical absence
of the explanandum, the last two studies explored the cognitive mechanism of adapting
the use of deictic gestures in relation to the monitoring of the explainees''
understanding. Whether the explainers interpreted the explainees'' understanding
in a retrospective video recall task (Lazarov &amp; Grimminger, 2024a), or perceived
the explainees'' verbal signals of understanding (Lazarov &amp; Grimminger, 2024b),
the analyses demonstrated that the frequency of gesture deixis remains stable
over the course of the explanation phase in which the explanandum was absent from
the shared space.Building on the results from the studies presented in this thesis,
I discuss how the continuous monitoring of the explainees'' feedback behavior
accounts for adaptations in both the verbal and the nonverbal modes of explaining
behavior. Furthermore, the analyses I present illuminate the extent of individual
variation within and across explainers, each of whom interacted with three different

    Verfahren.'

text: 'This dissertation contributes to the field of multiobjective optimization,
with a focus on unconstrained problems formulated in a general Hilbert space.
For multiobjective optimization problems with locally Lipschitz continuous objective
functions, we define a multiobjective subdifferential, which we analyze for the
first time in the context of general Hilbert spaces. Building on these theoretical
investigations, we present a descent method in which, at each iteration, a descent
direction is determined via a numerical approximation of the multiobjective subdifferential.
In the setting of convex, continuously differentiable objective functions with
Lipschitz continuous gradients, we introduce a family of inertial gradient dynamical
systems that generalize well-known continuous-time systems from scalar optimization.
We present three novel systems: one with constant damping, one with asymptotic
vanishing damping, and one combining vanishing damping with time-dependent Tikhonov
regularization. Building on the investigation of the novel gradient dynamical
systems, we develop an accelerated gradient method for multiobjective optimization
via discretization of the multiobjective gradient system with asymptotic vanishing
damping. The proposed method retains the favorable convergence properties of the
continuous system while achieving faster convergence than standard approaches,
    such as classical methods.'

text: We investigated electrodeposited nanoparticulate nickel selenide (pre)catalysts
that transform into nickel oxides/oxyhydroxides under oxygen evolution reaction
conditions in alkaline solutions. Previous studies of this transformation were
conducted at lower current densities than those of industrial relevance (≥1 A
cm–2). We used ultramicroelectrodes (UMEs) to achieve such current densities,
benefiting from their small size, ensuring low absolute currents and low ohmic
drop but high current densities. Morphological degradation of the catalyst material
was only observed at current densities exceeding 1 A cm–2 but not for smaller
ones. Using X-ray absorption, X-ray photoemission spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction,
we confirmed that the degradation was accompanied by the literature-known transformation
of nanoparticulate Ni3Se2 (bulk)/NiSe (surface) into nickel oxyhydroxide. The
transformation of the precatalyst goes along with a significant improvement in
the charge transfer kinetics observed by decreasing Tafel slopes with ongoing
experimental time extracted from cyclic voltammetry (CV) experiments and electrochemical
impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in the high-frequency range. However, these kinetic
improvements are accompanied by limitations in mass transport concluded from decreasing
current responses at high overpotentials in CVs and increasing impedance in the
low-frequency range of the EIS spectra after extended CV cycling. These mass transport
limitations originated from morphological degradations at the UME exceeding 1
A cm–2 which we proved by applying identical location scanning electron microscopy.
This has not been reported in studies that have been limited to lower current
densities before. Our findings showcase how UMEs can be used to study (pre)catalysts
(herein nickel selenides) under current densities of industrial relevance in the
absence of ohmic drop-related ambiguities, combined with in-depth materials characterization
studies, e.g., identical location microscopy and advanced spectroscopic methods.
This approach enables direct evaluation and comparison of catalyst materials and
thus demonstrates how to overcome long-standing limitations of electrocatalyst
    design and testing.

text: Novel oxalate-bridged heterotrinuclear complexes [A][Mn2Cr(bpy)2(H2O)2Cl2(C2O4)3]
    (A = (CH3)2(C2H5)NH+ (1) and (CH3)(C2H5)2NH+ (2); bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine) were
synthesized using an aqueous solution of [A]3[Cr(C2O4)3] as a building block in
reaction with Mn2+ ions and with the addition of the N-donor ligand bipyridine.
The isostructural heterometallic complex salts were characterized by single-crystal
and powder X-ray diffraction, infrared and impedance spectroscopy, thermal analysis
and magnetization measurements. The trinuclear anion [{Mn(bpy)(H2O)Cl(μ-C2O4)}2Cr(C2O4)]−
consists of two [Mn(bpy)(H2O)Cl]+ units bridged by the [Cr(C2O4)3]3− anion, which
acts as a bidentate ligand towards each of the manganese atoms. The anions are
hydrogen bonded to each other via coordinated chloride anions, water molecules
and oxygen oxalate atoms, resulting in two-dimensional (2D) hydrogen bonding layers.
Compounds exhibit water-assisted proton conductivity behaviour, which was investigated
at different temperatures and relative humidities (RH). At 25 °C, an increase
in RH from 60% to 93% resulted in an obvious proton conducting switch from 9.1
    × 10−11 to 5.6 × 10−5 S cm−1 for 1 and from 7.4 × 10−10 to 1.8 × 10−6 S cm−1 for
2, corresponding to high on/off ratios of about 106 for 1 and 104 for 2. In situ
powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) analysis showed that unit cell parameters of compounds
1 and 2 slightly increase when exposed to humid conditions. This confirmed that
incorporation of water molecules into structures with pores and voids causes the
proton conductivity switching phenomenon. Magnetic susceptibility measurements
indicate a ferromagnetic interaction between Cr3+ and Mn2+ ions bridged by the
bis(bidentate) oxalate group. The prepared compounds 1 and 2 were explored as
single-source precursors for the formation of spinel oxide by their thermal treatment.
With increasing temperature, the spinel composition changed according to the formula
    Mn1+xCr2–xO4 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1), where x = 0.7 at 500 °C and x = 1 at 900 °C when tet[MnII]oct[MnIIICrIII]O4
is formed. The (micro)structure, morphology, and optical properties of spinel
Mn2CrO4 were characterized by PXRD, scanning electron microscopy and UV-Vis diffuse
reflectance spectroscopy. The photocatalytic activity of this oxide in degradation
of the methylene blue dye under Vis irradiation without and with the support of
    hydrogen peroxide was further investigated.

text: '<p>Smart service is fundamentally transforming customer experience in both
commercial and private contexts. While the information systems and service disciplines
have explored the properties and implementation of smart service, there is a gap
in understanding how smart service relates to customer experience at the ecosystem
level. With the increasing prominence of digital platforms and data spaces, this
ecosystem perspective will become crucial for the success of smart service. We
report findings from a systematic scoping literature review on smart service themes
and related customer experience concepts. Our analysis of 26 high-quality papers
reveals three key insights: (1) smart service systems play a pivotal role in enabling
customer experience, (2) customer experience in smart service scenarios is often
co-created through “hybrid” customer journeys, and (3) these scenarios are subject
to an ecosystem-level. Additionally, we identify smart service fundamentals, embeddedness
levels, and business innovation as core themes that shape ecosystem-level customer
    experience. </p>'

  text: "
Abstract
\r\n
Muonic hydrogen
is an exotic atom where a muon instead of an electron is bound to a proton. The
comparably high mass of the muon (≈ 207 · me\r\n
\ ) has two important effects, (i) the reduced mass
of the system becomes more important, and (ii) the muon is localized much closer
to the nucleus. Thus, muonic hydrogen is not only excellently suitable for evaluating
highly precise quantum electrodynamic (QED) calculations, but may also be used
for assessing new approaches including finite nuclear size (FNS) effects to evaluate
the proton structure and improve calculation schemes for the hyperfine splittings
of many-particle systems, as e.g. to be implemented in density functional theory
(DFT) software packages. Here, starting from Dirac’s equation we calculate the
relativistic hyperfine splitting of the ground state and several excited states
of muonic hydrogen analytically for different charge and magnetization models.
The FNS related hyperfine shifts are compared with the differences between QED
calculations and experimental measurements. This comparison also allows to unravel
the role of the reduced mass, which is on one hand crucial in case of muonic atoms,
but on the other hand is by no means well defined in relativistic quantum mechanics.
"

development of efficient and broadly applicable n‐doping strategies for organic
semiconductors (OSCs) is crucial for advancing the performance of various organic
electronic devices. Here, a novel nucleophilic‐attack n‐doping mechanism is unveiled
that achieves exceptionally high conductivity in doped OSC films and demonstrates
broad applicability across OSCs. The remarkable efficacy of n‐Butyl lithium (n‐BuLi)
    is highlighted in n‐doping C\r\n 60\r\n

with electron‐deficient units in OSCs, generating a carbanion that facilitates
efficient electron transfer for n‐doping. This mechanism is further validated

  text:
ABSTRACT
The use of digital tools for second
and foreign language lexical learning is increasingly popular and research in
this area is constantly expanding. However, little has been written about specific
criteria that could be used to identify tools with high‐quality lexical input,
as available checklists and frameworks for digital media tend to neglect detailed
analyses of the vocabulary domain. This article addresses this issue by presenting
the Checklist for Evaluating Digital Resources for Lexical Learning (DigiLex),
which combines important digital language learning criteria with an extensive
evaluation of lexical content. The checklist is both theory‐based and user‐friendly,
aiming to fill a gap between theory and practice in the field of digital lexical
learning. The article discusses the theoretical basis of the checklist and integrates
the results of a small pilot study with pre‐service and in‐service teachers, emphasizing
feasibility in everyday learning and teaching. By providing an easy‐to‐use tool
for identifying suitable digital resources, the DigiLex checklist aims to support
language learners and teachers in self‐regulated lexical learning.
