This study establishes a validated hierarchical methodology to predict tolerance-dependent failure behavior of SPR joints, progressing from coupon to sub-component scale through an integrated experimental–numerical approach. Five critical manufacturing tolerances, including rivet length (±0.5 mm), rivet head position (±0.3 mm), orthogonality deviation (2.8° and 5°), lateral offset (up to 1.2 mm), and flange overlap reduction (up to 7.5 mm), were investigated. Steel–steel joints exhibited a higher sensitivity to tolerances by a factor of 2–3 compared to steel–aluminum joints. A unified effective rivet length concept was developed to consolidate the geometric effects of all tolerances into a single physically meaningful parameter, enabling load-bearing capacity prediction with R2 > 0.95 across all evaluated loading directions. The sub-component validation employing T-joint specimens indicates a 2–3 fold amplification of tolerance effects at critical structural regions, providing experimental evidence for the hierarchical scaling principle. The methodology was implemented in a tolerance-dependent CONSTRAINED_SPR3 formulation, providing >99 % computational efficiency improvement while maintaining a deviation in maximum force prediction within ±7 %. This framework enables the physically consistent representation of manufacturing variation within large-scale simulations and establishes a transferable basis for tolerance-resilient virtual vehicle development."}],"file":[{"content_type":"application/pdf","relation":"main_file","success":1,"creator":"kekeyang","date_created":"2025-12-26T13:42:22Z","date_updated":"2025-12-26T13:42:22Z","access_level":"closed","file_id":"63419","file_name":"1-s2.0-S1526612525013787-main.pdf","file_size":28796238}],"ddc":["620"],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}]},{"department":[{"_id":"49"},{"_id":"90"}],"user_id":"11829","_id":"63435","project":[{"_id":"245","name":"FOR 5208: Modellbasierte Bestimmung nichtlinearer Eigenschaften von Piezokeramiken für Leistungsschallanwendungen (NEPTUN)"}],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"publication":"Nonlinear Analysis: Real World Applications","type":"journal_article","status":"public","volume":91,"date_created":"2026-01-05T07:32:00Z","author":[{"first_name":"Leander","last_name":"Claes","orcid":"0000-0002-4393-268X","full_name":"Claes, Leander","id":"11829"},{"id":"31496","full_name":"Winkler, Michael","last_name":"Winkler","first_name":"Michael"}],"date_updated":"2026-01-05T07:40:49Z","publisher":"Elsevier BV","doi":"10.1016/j.nonrwa.2025.104580","title":"Describing smooth small-data solutions to a quasilinear hyperbolic-parabolic system by W 1,P energy analysis","publication_identifier":{"issn":["1468-1218"]},"page":"104580","intvolume":" 91","citation":{"chicago":"Claes, Leander, and Michael Winkler. “Describing Smooth Small-Data Solutions to a Quasilinear Hyperbolic-Parabolic System by W 1,P Energy Analysis.” <i>Nonlinear Analysis: Real World Applications</i> 91 (2026): 104580. <a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1016/j.nonrwa.2025.104580\">https://doi.org/10.1016/j.nonrwa.2025.104580</a>.","ieee":"L. By incorporating a new organic spacer capable of forming a hydrogen-bonded organic framework, this method promoted anisotropic crystal growth and enhanced lattice rigidity. Furthermore, introducing molecular intercalants enabled controlled crystallization into well-defined nanowires that function as Fabry–Pérot cavities. Cavities made from n = 2 to 4 perovskites support efficient and robust near-infrared, room-temperature optically pumped lasing with the threshold as low as 75.8 μJ/cm2, cavity quality factor over 3000, and negligible degradation over 106 pulses. In many studies on network dynamics, the analysis is restricted to networks with one-dimensional internal dynamics. Here, we show how symmetry explains the relation between dynamical behavior of systems with one-dimensional internal dynamics and with higher dimensional internal dynamics, when the underlying network topology is the same. Fundamental networks of homogeneous coupled cell systems (B. Rink, J. Sanders. Coupled Cell Networks and Their Hidden Symmetries. SIAM J. Math. Anal. 46.2 (2014)) can be expressed in terms of monoid representations, which uniquely decompose into indecomposable subrepresentations. In the high-dimensional internal dynamics case, these subrepresentations are isomorphic to multiple copies of those one computes in the one-dimensional internal dynamics case. This has interesting implications for possible center subspaces in bifurcation analysis. We describe the effect on steady state and Hopf bifurcations in l-parameter families of network vector fields. The main results in that regard are that (1) generic one-parameter steady state bifurcations are qualitatively independent of the dimension of the internal dynamics and that, (2) in order to observe all generic l-parameter bifurcations that may occur for internal dynamics of any dimension, the internal dynamics has to be at least l-dimensional for steady state bifurcations and 2l-dimensional for Hopf bifurcations. Furthermore, we illustrate how additional structure in the network can be exploited to obtain even greater understanding of bifurcation scenarios in the high-dimensional case beyond qualitative statements about the collective dynamics. One-parameter steady state bifurcations in feedforward networks exhibit an unusual amplification in the asymptotic growth rates of individual cells, when these are one-dimensional (S. von der Gracht, E. Nijholt, B. Rink. Amplified steady state bifurcations in feedforward networks. Nonlinearity 35.4 (2022)). As another main result, we prove that (3) the same cells exhibit this amplifying effect with the same growth rates when the internal dynamics is high-dimensional."}],"file":[{"content_type":"application/pdf","relation":"main_file","success":1,"creator":"svdg","date_created":"2026-03-16T08:40:04Z","date_updated":"2026-03-16T08:40:04Z","file_id":"64980","access_level":"closed","file_name":"homogeneous-coupled-cell-systems-with-high-dimensional-internal-dynamics.pdf","file_size":1951746}],"publication":"Chaos, Solitons & Fractals","keyword":["Coupled cell systems","Network dynamics","Dimension reduction","Bifurcation theory","Symmetry","Monoid representation theory"],"ddc":["510"],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"external_id":{"arxiv":["2510.06740"]},"year":"2026","title":"Homogeneous coupled cell systems with high-dimensional internal dynamics","publisher":"Elsevier BV","date_created":"2026-03-16T08:39:07Z"},{"date_created":"2025-05-22T10:37:18Z","author":[{"last_name":"Grauthoff","id":"79742","full_name":"Grauthoff, Fabian","first_name":"Fabian"},{"full_name":"Kreter, Maximilian","last_name":"Kreter","first_name":"Maximilian"}],"publisher":"transcript","date_updated":"2026-03-17T12:55:50Z","title":"\"I WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT!\" - Fake News und die Frage nach Wahrheit. They are central to many European research initiatives and shape the data economy in Industry 4.0. Generally, they aim to create secure environments for cross-organizational data management and sharing. Currently, there is considerable interest in developing new data spaces in Industry 4.0, also accelerated through regulatory changes. However, key questions about what precisely characterizes a data space in Industry 4.0 remain unresolved. Against this backdrop, we build a taxonomy of data spaces in the Industry 4.0 context. We identified nine distinctive dimensions and 40 corresponding characteristics among the 19 data spaces analyzed. The taxonomy enables clearer classification and nomenclature of data spaces in this context. This short paper will ignite planned further research on data spaces in Industry 4.0 and contribute to a conceptualization of a taxonomic theory for interested researchers."}],"keyword":["Industry 4.0","Taxonomy","Data spaces","Characterization"],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"publication_identifier":{"isbn":["9783032145178","9783032145185"],"issn":["1865-1348","1865-1356"]},"publication_status":"published","place":"Cham","citation":{"short":"O. Our purpose is to reflect on the benefits and limitations of video recall compared to another self-report method, ‘thinking-aloud’. To do so, we reveal empirical results from the application of video recall in three interdisciplinary research projects that applied the method for the qualitative and quantitative assessment of cognitive and behavioral phenomena in everyday explanations. In all three projects, video recall was applied as a post-hoc procedure following the recording of dyadic face-to-face explanations of board games. The design of the video recall procedure differed between individual projects because they pursued different research objectives – that is the investigation of (1) an interlocutor's multimodal signals of understanding, (2) the change in assumptions about an interlocutor's dispositional and situational knowledge, and (3) the differentiated assessment of an interlocutor's developing understanding of domain knowledge aspects by distinguishing between mechanistic and functional explanatory stances. By discussing the benefits and the limitations of each procedure, this article provides critical reflections on video recall as a versatile research method applied for the analysis of human multimodal behavior in interaction and cognitive processing.","lang":"eng"}],"status":"public","type":"preprint","title":"Retrospective video recall for analyzing cognitive processes in naturalistic explanations","main_file_link":[{"url":"https://doi.org/10.31219/osf.io/u24kz_v2"}],"date_updated":"2026-03-27T16:18:03Z","author":[{"first_name":"Stefan Teodorov","orcid":"0009-0009-0892-9483","last_name":"Lazarov","id":"90345","full_name":"Lazarov, Stefan Teodorov"},{"last_name":"Schaffer","full_name":"Schaffer, Michael","id":"92807","first_name":"Michael"},{"full_name":"Gladow, Viviane","last_name":"Gladow","first_name":"Viviane"},{"last_name":"Buschmeier","orcid":"0000-0002-9613-5713","id":"76456","full_name":"Buschmeier, Hendrik","first_name":"Hendrik"},{"id":"27152","full_name":"Buhl, Heike M.","last_name":"Buhl","first_name":"Heike M."},{"id":"57578","full_name":"Grimminger, Angela","last_name":"Grimminger","first_name":"Angela"}],"date_created":"2025-09-08T14:11:37Z","year":"2026","page":"29","citation":{"apa":"Lazarov, S. Seemingly moderate inflows of migrants can have substantial demographic consequences in the long run, due to (1) higher fertility of the migrant population, (2) its younger age distribution, and (3) the possibility of family reunification. Yet, demography hardly appears in the policy debate, even in media outlets that are critical of mass immigration. This may indicate that the mechanics of population dynamics are not widely understood. We design a laboratory experiment in which we confront subjects with 30 different migration scenarios. Subjects have to decide when to stop a given inflow of migrants to achieve a target share of migrants after 60 years. In line with all our pre-registered hypotheses, in scenarios that contain elements of usual mass immigration the growth of the migrant population is systematically underestimated. This bias is even stronger in scenarios that closely resemble the German situation since the opening of the borders during the 2015 refugee crisis.
","lang":"eng"}],"author":[{"first_name":"Klaus","last_name":"Abbink","full_name":"Abbink, Klaus"},{"orcid":"0000-0002-6271-5912","last_name":"Mir Djawadi","full_name":"Mir Djawadi, Behnud","id":"26032","first_name":"Behnud"}],"date_created":"2026-03-27T16:21:06Z","date_updated":"2026-03-27T21:39:58Z","publisher":"Elsevier BV","doi":"http://dx.doi.org/10.2139/ssrn.6343618","title":"Migration and Long-Term Demographic Change: Can We Control the Numbers?","publication_status":"published","citation":{"ieee":"K. Especially, artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly integrated into these ecosystems, so that they comprise non-human participants (e.g., AI-based chatbots)—fundamentally altering the nature of value (co-)creation. While existing literature examines human-to-human interactions, knowledge of service interactions between human actors and AI-based systems is still underexplored. To address this research gap, we develop a taxonomy, comprising six iterations, that explores the peculiarities of AI as either a resource or a (non-human) agent in digital service ecosystems. We evaluate our taxonomy using a multiple case study and derive the four archetypes of AI in digital service ecosystems: (1) discriminative experience enhancer, (2) protective ecosystem orchestrator, (3) ecosystem innovation companion, and (4) personalized service composer. Our results extend the knowledge on service science by showing how AI-based systems—discriminative or generative, and focusing on the interaction in the ecosystem or the individual service encounter—assume the role of resources and non-human agents. Researchers and practitioners can utilize our results to augment their ecosystems with AI.
"}],"author":[{"last_name":"Hansmeier","id":"55603","full_name":"Hansmeier, Philipp","first_name":"Philipp"},{"first_name":"Jannika Marie","last_name":"Schäfer","full_name":"Schäfer, Jannika Marie","id":"74374"},{"last_name":"zur Heiden","id":"64394","full_name":"zur Heiden, Philipp","first_name":"Philipp"}],"date_created":"2026-03-07T12:45:48Z","volume":36,"date_updated":"2026-03-28T12:53:22Z","publisher":"Springer Science and Business Media LLC","main_file_link":[{"url":"https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s12525-026-00879-y"}],"doi":"10.1007/s12525-026-00879-y","title":"Artificial intelligence in digital service ecosystems—Towards a taxonomy and archetypes","issue":"1","publication_status":"published","publication_identifier":{"issn":["1019-6781","1422-8890"]},"citation":{"ama":"Hansmeier P, Schäfer JM, zur Heiden P. To achieve their maximum mechanical properties, the fiber-matrix adhesion (FMA) is critical. In this work, continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic laminates (CFRTPL) with a polypropylene (PP) matrix and twill woven glass fiber fabrics are produced by film stacking. The films used contain different amounts of maleic-anhydride-grafted PP (MA-g-PP) as a coupling agent to produce CFRTPL of different mechanical strengths. To analyze the FMA, the CFRTPL are subjected to Charpy-impact and tensile tests. Additionally, single fiber pull-out tests (SFPT) are conducted to further investigate the effect of MA-g-PP on the FMA. The results of the SFPT show an improvement in apparent interfacial shear strength (AIFSS) when the MA-g-PP content is increased, which can be attributed to an increase in FMA. However, the research shows that MA-g-PP has a low impact on the mechanical properties if the force is applied parallel to the warp and weft threads during tensile testing and the results of the Charpy-impact testing suffer from embrittlement of the matrix material. Subsequently, the results of this study are compared to three-point flexural tests conducted in a previous study. It can be concluded that tensile and impact tests are not suited to investigate FMA on a macroscopic scale, while SFPT and flexural tests provide a better alternative.
"}],"author":[{"last_name":"Moritzer","id":"20531","full_name":"Moritzer, Elmar","first_name":"Elmar"},{"first_name":"Philipp","orcid":"0009-0005-9707-0885","last_name":"Brandes","id":"70091","full_name":"Brandes, Philipp"},{"first_name":"Maurice","last_name":"Wittler","full_name":"Wittler, Maurice","id":"76071"},{"first_name":"Leander","orcid":"0000-0002-4393-268X","last_name":"Claes","full_name":"Claes, Leander","id":"11829"},{"first_name":"Mareen","last_name":"Wippermann","id":"74624","full_name":"Wippermann, Mareen"},{"last_name":"Haag","full_name":"Haag, Markus","first_name":"Markus"},{"full_name":"Gries, Thomas","last_name":"Gries","first_name":"Thomas"},{"full_name":"Henning, Bernd","id":"213","last_name":"Henning","first_name":"Bernd"}],"date_created":"2026-03-30T14:14:33Z","date_updated":"2026-03-30T14:15:31Z","publisher":"Walter de Gruyter GmbH","doi":"10.1515/ipp-2025-0077","title":"Fiber-matrix adhesion in glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite laminates and its effect on mechanical properties","publication_identifier":{"issn":["0930-777X","2195-8602"]},"quality_controlled":"1","publication_status":"published","citation":{"ama":"Moritzer E, Brandes P, Wittler M, et al.
