[{"type":"journal_article","publication":"Electronic Markets","status":"public","abstract":[{"text":"Traditional dyadic customer-provider interactions are being shifted to polyadic interactions involving diverse participants in digital service ecosystems. Especially, artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly integrated into these ecosystems, so that they comprise non-human participants (e.g., AI-based chatbots)—fundamentally altering the nature of value (co-)creation. While existing literature examines human-to-human interactions, knowledge of service interactions between human actors and AI-based systems is still underexplored. To address this research gap, we develop a taxonomy, comprising six iterations, that explores the peculiarities of AI as either a resource or a (non-human) agent in digital service ecosystems. We evaluate our taxonomy using a multiple case study and derive the four archetypes of AI in digital service ecosystems: (1) discriminative experience enhancer, (2) protective ecosystem orchestrator, (3) ecosystem innovation companion, and (4) personalized service composer. Our results extend the knowledge on service science by showing how AI-based systems—discriminative or generative, and focusing on the interaction in the ecosystem or the individual service encounter—assume the role of resources and non-human agents. To achieve their maximum mechanical properties, the fiber-matrix adhesion (FMA) is critical. In this work, continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic laminates (CFRTPL) with a polypropylene (PP) matrix and twill woven glass fiber fabrics are produced by film stacking. The films used contain different amounts of maleic-anhydride-grafted PP (MA-g-PP) as a coupling agent to produce CFRTPL of different mechanical strengths. To analyze the FMA, the CFRTPL are subjected to Charpy-impact and tensile tests. Additionally, single fiber pull-out tests (SFPT) are conducted to further investigate the effect of MA-g-PP on the FMA. The results of the SFPT show an improvement in apparent interfacial shear strength (AIFSS) when the MA-g-PP content is increased, which can be attributed to an increase in FMA. However, the research shows that MA-g-PP has a low impact on the mechanical properties if the force is applied parallel to the warp and weft threads during tensile testing and the results of the Charpy-impact testing suffer from embrittlement of the matrix material. Subsequently, the results of this study are compared to three-point flexural tests conducted in a previous study. We investigated (1) whether lower vitamin D status is associated with greater depression severity and (2) whether this association is statistically moderated by inflammation in patients of a child and adolescent psychiatry department. At admission fasting morning venous blood was drawn. Serum vitamin D (25(OH)D) and C-reactive protein (CRP) were analyzed in all participants [n=465 (64.7%♀; 11.3-18.9 years)]. In a subsample [n=177], we additionally measured tumor necrosis factor-alpha, interferon-gamma and interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10. Depression severity was assessed by the Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II) [n=450], the Diagnostic System for Mental Disorders in Childhood and Adolescence via self-assessment (DISYPS Self) [n=441], and parent-assessment (DISYPS Proxy) [n=422]. Overall, 43.2% [n=201] were at risk for vitamin D deficiency (&lt;30nmol/L), and 73.5%-83.2% –depending on assessment tool– showed at least mild depression. Linear regression revealed an inverse association between 25(OH)D and BDI-II in both crude and CRP-adjusted full-sample models. Logistic regressions showed a robust inverse association between 25(OH)D and DISYPS Proxy, but not for DISYPS Self. Although 25(OH)D was inversely correlated with some pro-inflammatory markers, neither their inclusion in regression models nor formal mediation analyses supported inflammation as a mediator of the vitamin D–depression association. Overall, our results suggest that vitamin D relates modestly to both depression and inflammation in adolescence. For that, we first review the literature related to students’ selection and use of resources in mathematics education in different pedagogical settings (presentation 1). Second, we develop insights from the different studies that participate in this symposium (presentation 2–6), at school as well as at university level. Results show that attempts have been made to provide students opportunities to develop agency of their mathematics learning, in particular with the development and provision of numerous digital tools and learning resources at university level and related to innovative pedagogical approaches. At the same time, it is not obvious how these tools and resources help students to develop deeper conceptual understandings. Certainly, students often ‘demand’ more student-centered and autonomous education approaches (e.g., at university level), also in mathematics education. Further, it seems that authentic problem-based education approaches are more motivating for students. These ‘innovative’ approaches necessitate particular types of structure and support for students. Moreover, they require different ways of providing resources that students can and want to interact with, and that help students to navigate through the curriculum to develop their own learning paths. At the same time, teachers also need support on how to orchestrate student learning with the available resources in such environments, so to be able to attend to students’ individual needs. Particularly, the joining of structures to be thermally coupled, such as the battery modules and the thermal management system (TMS), poses new challenges in process design. Factors that limit the process include the increased density, viscosity, and abrasiveness of thermal pastes as well as the pressure sensitivity of battery modules. The research presented aims to systematically investigate the influences of joining parameters on flow behavior, the formation of air inclusions, and the occurring joining forces to understand and systematically optimize the joining process. Employing a test setup following the Closing-Hele-Shaw-Cell, the influence of specific process parameters on the joining process such as the joining speed, joining gap, application pattern, and temperature was investigated for a silicone- and a polyurethane-based thermally conductive paste. The results indicate a high dependency of both the ensuing joining forces and the flow behavior on the parameters investigated. These insights imply a potential systematic parameter optimization and the specific adaptation of the joining process to improve flow behavior and reduce compressive stresses. Hiermit ist es unter anderem möglich, dass die Geräte in die Energieeffizienzklassen A bis C klassifiziert werden können. Ein VIP besteht vereinfacht aus einer Schutzfolie, die nahezu gasdicht ist und einem Füllmaterial, welches für die Formstabilität im Vakuum zuständig ist. Aufgrund von technischen Alterungsprozessen kommt es mit der Zeit zu einem Anstieg des Innendrucks im VIP, wodurch die Wärmeleitfähigkeit des VIP steigt. Je nach Füllmaterial erfolgt dieser Alterungsprozess unterschiedlich schnell. Im Extremfall kann so ein neues Haushalts-kältegerät der Energieeffizienzklasse A nach 1 bis 3 Jahren nur noch als Klasse D bis F eingestuft werden.\r\nInnerhalb eines Forschungsprojekts wurden Haushaltskältegeräte mit VIP thermografisch untersucht. Im Rahmen dieser Studienarbeit wurde ein Versuchsaufbau entwickelt, mit dem die zeitliche Veränderung von Wärmebrücken begutachtet werden kann und so Rückschlüsse auf den Effizienzverlust der Geräte möglich sind. Der Funkionsnachweises dieses Versuchsaufbaus wurden an einem Haushaltskältegerät mit künstlich gealterten Vakuumisolationspaneelen durchgeführt. In this study, bioactive curcumin (CUM) derivatives were synthesized in a continuously operated microfluidic reactor (MFR), using piperidine-based polymeric networks as catalysts. Piperidine methacrylate and piperidine acrylate were synthesized and subsequently copolymerized with complementary monomers (MMA or DMAA) and crosslinkers (EGDMA or MBAM) via photopolymerization, yielding different polymeric networks. Initially, batch reactions were optimized for the organo-catalytic Knoevenagel condensation between CUM and 4-nitrobenzaldehyde, under various conditions, in the presence of polymer networks. Conversion was assessed using offline 1H NMR spectroscopy, revealing an increase in conversion with enhanced swelling properties of the polymer networks, which facilitated greater accessibility of catalytic sites. In continuous-flow MFR experiments, optimized polymer gel dots exhibited superior catalytic performance, achieving a conversion of up to 72%, compared to other compositions. This improvement was attributed to the enhanced swelling in the reaction mixture (DMSO/methanol, 7:3 v/v) at 40 °C over 72 h. Furthermore, the MFR system enabled the efficient synthesis of a series of CUM derivatives, demonstrating significantly higher conversion rates than traditional batch reactions. Notably, while batch reactions required 90% catalyst loading in the gel, the MFR system achieved a comparable or superior performance with only 50% catalyst, resulting in a higher turnover number.
