Aiming at doubly-selective fading MIMO channels, we present a novel pilot pattern and the corresponding adaptive channel tracking algorithm. Compared with the traditional pilot patterns, the new pattern has higher frequency efficiency and is more suitable for large transmit arrays. The computational complexity, frequency efficiency and BER performance of the system assisted by the proposed channel tracking scheme are analyzed. Auch die Rezeption dieser biblischen Geschichte in den drei monotheistischen Weltreligionen, in Literatur, Philosophie und Kunst werden seit einem halben Jahrhundert zunehmend intensiver wissenschaftlich untersucht. Das Werk betritt in mehreren Hinsichten Neuland. In seinem Mittelpunkt steht die Analyse der Gen 22-Szenen in zwei deutschen Theaterstücken von 1995 (Heinz Grasmücks „Gottesvergiftung“) und 1998 (Peter und Undine Andersonns „Abrahams Zelt“). Theaterwissenschaft, Literaturwissenschaft, Theologie, Philosophie, Musikwissenschaft, Entwicklungspsychologie, Sozialanthropologie und Medientheorie werden in dem Werk unter dem Leitgedanken für die Analyse fruchtbar gemacht, die religiöse Aussage der Stücke herauszuarbeiten. Die dargestellten interdisziplinären Verknüpfungen bringen die Mehrdeutigkeiten als offenbar unausschöpfbares Potential des biblischen Textes zur Geltung. War die wissenschaftliche Kommentarliteratur bislang vorwiegend auf die historische Erforschung von biblischen Texten fokussiert, so beginnt sich langsam ein kulturtheologisches Paradigma in der Erforschung der Bibel und ihre Rezeption zu etablieren. Das Werk betritt mit der theatralischen Gen 22-Rezeption Neuland und leistet damit für die biblische Rezeptionsforschung Wesentliches. For point-to-point communication, we examine theoretically well-analyzed sparse graphs, i.e. the Yao-graph, the SparsY-graph, and the SymmY-graph.  We present distributed algorithms that can be used to build up these graphs in time $O(log n)$ per node without the use of any geo-graphical positioning system. Our algorithms are based only on local knowledge and local decisions and make use of power control to establish communication links with low energy-cost.  We compare these algorithms with respect to congestion, dilation, and energy. For congestion we introduce different measures that allow us to investigate the difference between real-world wireless networks and models for wireless communication at a high level of abstraction. For more realistic simulations we extend our simulation  environment SAHNE. We use a realistic transmission model for directed communication that uses sector subdivision. The key to overcome this limitation is hardware virtualization. In this paper, we resort to a macro-pipelined execution model to achieve hardware virtualization for data streaming applications. As a hardware implementation we present a hybrid multi-context architecture that attaches a coarse-grained reconfigurable array to a host CPU. A co-simulation framework enables cycle-accurate simulation of the complete architecture. As a case study we map an FIR filter to our virtualized hardware model and evaluate different designs. As research shows, the time it takes to reconfigure the hardware forms an overhead that can significantly impair the benefits of hardware customization. Multi-context devices are one promising approach to overcome the limitations posed by long reconfiguration times. In contrast to more traditional reconfigurable architectures, multi-context devices hold several configurations on-chip. On demand, the device can quickly switch to another context. In this paper we present a co-simulation environment to investigate design trade-offs for hybrid multi-context architectures. Our architectural model comprises a reconfigurable unit closely coupled to a CPU core. As a case study, we discuss the implementation of a FIR filter partitioned into several contexts. A simple statistical model allows the determination of confidence intervals for flux profiles. First, a ‘standard case’ considering full coupling of all physical phenomena occurring in this problem, i.e., electric field, flow field and particle dynamics is simulated. Subsequently, this standard case is compared to simulations with one quantity (e.g., electric field strength, turbulence intensity) substituted by a mean value which is homogeneously distributed in the precipitation zone. This reveals the relevance of the various physical phenomena: It turned out that the secondary flows had only a minor influence on the overall particle precipitation although they cause some ‘patterning’ of local precipitation. Turbulence inhomogeneity shows a stronger effect on particle dynamics. However, the electric field appears to be by far the most important quantity in simulating particle dynamics. Furthermore, assuming fractal behaviour of the growing agglomerate particles—for the first time—a model for the evolution of a mean value of the fractal dimension based on physical and process parameters is proposed and incorporated into the simulation model. PARSIVAL, a commercial solver for integro-differential equations is employed to solve the equations involved. It is based on a generalised finite-element scheme with self-adaptive grid- and order construction. Calculations are performed to validate the model against monodisperse and sectional models published in literature for the exemplary case of Si production. The results are in good agreement if the same simplifying assumptions are made. Aus dieser Entwicklung resultieren hohe Anforderungen an die Gestaltung der Fertigungsprozesse. Im Wesentlichen kommt es darauf an, die Fertigungsprozesse möglichst rasch an die neuen Gegebenheiten anzupassen, bzw. neue Fertigungsprozesse so zu planen, dass sie auf Anhieb die erforderlichen Resultate bringen.\r\nEin wichtiges Mittel hierfür der Einsatz von Materialflusssimulationen. Hierzu ist zunächst die Erstellung eines Simulationsmodells notwendig. Dafür wird in einem ersten Schritt das zu betrachtende System analysiert und ein rechnerinternes Modell erzeugt. Dieses beinhaltet die Modellierung von Funktionen, Prozessen, Verhaltensweisen oder Regeln, die im Modell die tatsächlichen Wirkzusammenhänge im Unternehmen widerspiegeln sollen. Die so modellierten Aspekte sind untereinander so vernetzt, dass alle Funktionen des Modells ein Ganzes ergeben. Für viele Fragenstellungen werden umfangreiche Modelle mit einem komplexen Verhalten benötigt. Andererseits steigt mit zunehmender Größe und Komplexität des Simulationsmodells auch der Modellierungsaufwand, die Fehleranfälligkeit, die Laufzeit und der Interpretationsaufwand bei der Ergebnisauswertung. Fehler bei der Modellbildung führen bei der Simulation zu Fehlinterpretationen und falschen Ergebnissen.\r\nEinen wesentlichen Anteil daran hat die Gestaltung der Benutzungsschnittstelle: Das übliche, wenig intuitive WIMP-Interface (Windows, Icons, Mouse, Pointer) erfordert sehr gut geschulte Benutzer, sodass die Erzeugung der meist komplexen Simulationsmodelle mit großen Zeitaufwand verbunden ist. Die Präsentation der Simulationsergebnisse erfolgt in Form von Wertetabellen und zweidimensionalen, abstrakten Darstellungen des Fertigungssystems. Für die Simulationsexperten erscheint dies ausreichend, für ein aus verschiedenen Bereichen und Disziplinen zusammengesetztes Planungsteam ist das aber nicht akzeptabel. So können Fehlinterpretationen aufgrund der unklaren Darstellungen auftreten.\r\nDurch eine durchgängige Unterstützung von der Modellierung über die Ausführung bis zur Analyse von Simulationen durch Augmented-Reality und Virtual-Reality werden viele dieser Probleme überwunden aber viele neue Probleme entstehen.\r\nMarktgängige Simulatoren unterstützen zwar z.T. schon Virtual Reality; eine durchgängige Simulationsunterstützung wird aber in der Virtuellen Umgebung nicht geboten. In Visualisierungen von Fertigungsprozessen können Betrachter frei und ungeleitet umherwandern. Erkenntnisse werden so aber eher zufällig erworben. Dieser Artikel skizziert ein System und Methoden, die den Betrachter unterstützen auf auffällige/signifikante Prozesse/ Punkte in Materialflusssimulationen aufmerksam zu werden und diese zu entschärfen.\r\nEs wird der Entwurf eines Werkzeugs beschrieben, dass den Betrachter einer Simulation die Möglichkeit bietet, signifikante Produktionsprozesse interaktiv zu verbessern. Der Benutzer wird sich in einer virtuellen 3D-Umgebung (Walkthrough-System) bewegen können und automatisch ermittelte Indizien für signifikante Abläufe erhalten. Zugleich soll die Simulation signifikante Objekte genauer simulieren. Bekundet der Benutzer Interesse an einem signifikanten Prozess, wird er automatisch zu dem jeweiligen Ort geführt werden und dort durch Eingriffe in die Simulation die kritische Situation experimentell untersuchen können. Da der kritische Moment in der Vergangenheit liegt und somit vom Betrachter schon verpasst ist, wird es dem Betrachter möglich sein, die Simulation auf einen Zeitpunkt vor dem Eintreten zurück zu setzen.\r\nDie virtuelle Szene (3D-Grafik-Modelle) einer typischen dynamischen Simulationsumgebung ist in der Regel zu komplex, um sie in Echtzeit in einem Walkthrough-System zu visualisieren und darzustellen. Typischerweise werden Approximationsverfahren eingesetzt, um die Komplexität zu reduzieren und ein flüssiges Navigieren des Betrachters zu erlauben. Durch spezifische Simulations-Anforderungen ist bekannt, an welchen Objekten des Simulationsmodells Probleme auftreten; sie sind für den Betrachter wichtig. Die zugehörigen virtuellen 3D-Repräsentanten, können von den Approximationsalgorithmen mit einer besonders hohen Darstellungsqualität dargestellt werden und die übrigen Teile der virtuellen Szene entsprechend vernachlässigt werden. Daraus resultieren hohe Anforderungen an die Planung von Fertigungssysteme. Um diesen Prozess zu unterstützen, sollen die Technologien Augmented Reality und Virtual Reality in einem integrierten System genutzt werden. Dieses System unterstützt den Anwender bei der Modellbildung, der Validierung des Simulationsmodells sowie der folgenden Optimierung des Fertigungssystems. Durch die Entwicklung geeigneter Kopplungs- bzw. Integrationsmechanismen wird eine durchgängige Nutzung der Technologien AR, VR und Simulation realisiert.
