[{"abstract":[{"text":"<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title>\n               <jats:p>The accessibility to rheological parameters for concrete is becoming more and more relevant. This is mainly related to the constantly emerging challenges, such as not only the development of high-strength concretes is progressing very fast but also the simulation of the flow behaviour is of high importance. The main problem, however, is that the rheological characterisation of fresh concrete is not possible via commercial rheometers. The so-called concrete rheometers provide valuable relative values for comparing different concretes, but they cannot measure absolute values. Therefore, we developed an adaptive coaxial concrete rheometer (ACCR) that allows the measurement of fresh concrete with particles up to <jats:inline-formula>\n                     <jats:alternatives>\n                        <jats:inline-graphic xmlns:xlink=\"http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink\" xlink:href=\"graphic/j_arh-2022-0140_eq_001.png\" />\n                        <m:math xmlns:m=\"http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML\">\n                           <m:msub>\n                              <m:mrow>\n                                 <m:mi>d</m:mi>\n                              </m:mrow>\n                              <m:mrow>\n                                 <m:mi mathvariant=\"normal\">max</m:mi>\n                              </m:mrow>\n                           </m:msub>\n                           <m:mo>=</m:mo>\n                           <m:mn>5.5</m:mn>\n                           <m:mspace width=\".5em\" />\n                           <m:mi mathvariant=\"normal\">mm</m:mi>\n                        </m:math>\n                        <jats:tex-math>{d}_{{\\rm{\\max }}}=5.5\\hspace{.5em}{\\rm{mm}}</jats:tex-math>\n                     </jats:alternatives>\n                  </jats:inline-formula>. The comparison of the ACCR with a commercial rheometer showed very good agreement for selected test materials (Newtonian fluid, shear thinning fluid, suspension, and yield stress fluid), so that self-compacting concrete was subsequently measured. Since these measurements showed a very high reproducibility, the rheological properties of the fresh concrete could be determined with high accuracy. This is cumbersome and time-consuming for authors and limits reproducibility and comparability, ultimately impeding progress in the field.\r\n\r\nTo this end, we propose mobile-env, a simple and open platform for training, evaluating, and comparing reinforcement learning and conventional approaches for continuous control in mobile wireless networks. mobile-env is lightweight and implements the common OpenAI Gym interface and additional wrappers, which allows connecting virtually any single-agent or multi-agent reinforcement learning framework to the environment. While mobile-env provides sensible default values and can be used out of the box, it also has many configuration options and is easy to extend. Im ersten Teil werden 2-D Si/SiO2-Wellenleiterkonfigurationen mit hohem Brechungsindexkontrast betrachtet. Die Strukturen werden mit halb geführten Wellen unter schrägen Ausbreitungswinkeln angeregt. Dadurch kann die Leistungsübertragung zu bestimmten ausgehenden Moden unterdrückt werden, wodurch vollständig verlustfreie Systeme entstehen. Zusätzlich dient die Anregung mit einem seitlich begrenzten, einfallenden Wellenbündel aus halb geführten Wellen dazu, praktisch relevantere 3-D Konfigurationen zu realisieren. Darüber hinaus wird eine schrittweise Winkelspektrum-Methode vorgestellt, die es ermöglicht, in Kombination mit voll vektoriellen 2-D Finite-Elemente-Lösungen für Teilprobleme mit geringerer Komplexität, die Wellenausbreitung in planaren, linsenförmigen Wellenleitern numerisch in drei Raumrichtungen zu berechnen. Im zweiten Teil dieser Arbeit wird die Ausbreitung in Wellenleiterstrukturen aus Lithiumniobat untersucht, welche für quantenoptische Effekte genutzt werden. Zur Detektion einzelner Photonen werden supraleitende Nanodrähte auf eindiffundierten Lithiumniobat Wellenleitern mit zusätzlicher Taperschicht aus Silizium betrachtet. Um die Wellenausbreitung in diesen 3-D Wellenleitern zu beschreiben, wird eine einseitig gerichtete Finite-Elemente „Modal Matching“ Methode eingeführt. Abschließend werden Rippenwellenleiter aus Lithiumniobat analysiert, die auf Siliziumdioxid Plattformen aufgebracht sind. In the first part, 2-D high-index contrast Si/SiO2 dielectric slab waveguide configurations are investigated. The structures are excited with semi-guided waves at oblique angles of propagation. Due to this, power transfer to specific outgoing modes can be suppressed, resulting in completely lossless configurations. The excitation is further examined for incoming, laterally confined wave bundles of semi-guided waves to realize practically more relevant 3-D configurations. Additionally, a stepwise angular spectrum method in combination with full vectorial 2-D finite element solutions for subproblems of lower complexity to numerically simulate the wave propagation in full 3-D planar lens-like waveguides is presented. In the second part, the wave propagation in lithium niobate waveguide structures is examined, which are used for quantum optical effects. On the one hand, superconducting nanowires on titanium in-diffused lithium niobate waveguides with an additional tapered silicon layer are used for single photon detection. The wave propagation in these 3-D multiscale tapers is studied by introducing a unidirectional finite element modal matching method. The model includes a hybrid energy storage which consists of a short-term lithium-ion battery and hydrogen as long-term storage to ensure autonomy even during periods of low PV production (e.g., in winter). The sectors heat and electricity are coupled by using the waste-heat generated by production and reconversion of hydrogen through an electrolyser respectively a fuel cell. A heat pump has been considered to cover the residual heat demand (for well insulated homes). Within this paper a model of the space heating system as well as the hot water heating system is presented. The model is designed for the simulation and analysis of a whole year energy flow by using a time series of loads, weather and heat profiles as input. Moreover, results of the energy balance within the energy system by simulation of a complete year by varying the orientation (elevation and azimuth) of the PV system and the component sizing, such as the lithium-ion battery capacity, are presented. It turned out that a high amount of heating energy can be saved by using the waste heat generated by the electrolyser and the fuel cell. While agility requires basic cognitive functions like processing speed, it also requires more complex cognitive processes like working memory and inhibition. Yet, most agility tests restrict an assessment of cognitive processes to simple reactive times that lack ecological validity. Our aim in this study was to assess agility performance by means of total time on two agility tests with matched motor demands but with both low and high cognitive demands. We tested 22 female team athletes on SpeedCourt, using a simple agility test (SAT) that measured only processing speed and a complex agility test (CAT) that required working memory and inhibition. We found excellent to good reliability for both our SAT (ICC = .79) and CAT (ICC =.70). Lower agility performance on the CAT was associated with increased agility total time and split times ( p &lt; .05). These results demonstrated that agility performance depends on the complexity of cognitive demands. There may be interference-effects between motor and cognitive performances, reducing speed when environmental information becomes more complex. Future studies should consider agility training models that implement complex cognitive stimuli to challenge athletes according to competitive demands.
