A wide range of methods using evolutionary computation techniques has been introduced in recent years. With this paper, we contribute to this area of research by providing a new approach based on quality diversity (QD) that is able to explore the whole feature space. QD algorithms allow to create solutions of high quality within a given feature space by splitting it up into boxes and improving solution quality within each box. We use our QD approach for the generation of TSP instances to visualize and analyze the variety of instances differentiating various TSP solvers and compare it to instances generated by established approaches from the literature.","lang":"eng"}],"publication":"Proceedings of the Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference","department":[{"_id":"819"}],"keyword":["instance features","instance generation","quality diversity","TSP"],"type":"conference","date_created":"2023-11-14T15:58:55Z","publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2023-12-13T10:45:56Z","author":[{"full_name":"Bossek, Jakob","first_name":"Jakob","orcid":"0000-0002-4121-4668","last_name":"Bossek","id":"102979"},{"last_name":"Neumann","first_name":"Frank","full_name":"Neumann, Frank"}],"publication_identifier":{"isbn":["978-1-4503-9237-2"]},"title":"Exploring the Feature Space of TSP Instances Using Quality Diversity","year":"2022","doi":"10.1145/3512290.3528851","series_title":"GECCO ’22","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"citation":{"chicago":"Bossek, Jakob, and Frank Neumann. “Exploring the Feature Space of TSP Instances Using Quality Diversity.” In <i>Proceedings of the Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference</i>, 186–194. An economical and insightful way to study the use of UAVs in cities is through the utilization of computer simulations. However, currently available simulators are only of limited use to investigate such scenarios: often they have been developed for a dedicated use case, can only handle single UAVs, or the software was not made available with an open license. In this paper, we present AirMobiSim, a modular and microscopic UAV simulation framework, which is available under a GPLv2 license. AirMobiSim provides the basis for the creation of kinematic and energy models for different UAV types. It can support an arbitrary number of UAVs and can be coupled with other simulators via open interfaces, for example to examine systems using wireless communication between UAVs. We furthermore present our approach for model-building and show that AirMobiSim can already accurately reproduce existing work. We also highlight current limitations and show prospects for future work.","lang":"eng"}],"publication":"15th IEEE International Workshop on Wireless Sensor, Robot and UAV Networks","citation":{"ieee":"T. In this study, the interactions of different welding current levels and weld times on the tendency for LME cracking in third-generation AHSSs were investigated. LME manifested itself as high-penetration cracks around the circumference of the spot welds for welding currents closely below the expulsion limit. At the same time, the observed tendency for LME cracking showed no direct correlation with the overall heat input of the investigated welding processes. To identify a reliable indicator of the tendency for LME cracking, the local strain rate at the origin of the observed cracks was analyzed over the course of the welding process via finite element simulation. While the local strain rate showed a good correlation with the process-specific LME cracking tendency, it was difficult to interpret due to its discontinuous course. Therefore, based on the experimental measurement of electrode displacement during welding, electrode indentation velocity was proposed as a descriptive indicator for quantifying cracking tendency.
","lang":"eng"}]},{"user_id":"101499","_id":"47554","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"publisher":"Applied Energy Innovation Institute (AEii)","date_updated":"2024-03-28T13:43:44Z","publication_status":"published","author":[{"full_name":"Lilli, Lilli","first_name":"Lilli","last_name":"Lilli"},{"full_name":"Röder, Lilli","last_name":"Röder","first_name":"Lilli"},{"first_name":"Arne","last_name":"Gröngröft","full_name":"Gröngröft, Arne"},{"full_name":"Grünewald, Marcus","first_name":"Marcus","last_name":"Grünewald"},{"id":"101499","full_name":"Riese, Julia","last_name":"Riese","orcid":"0000-0002-3053-0534","first_name":"Julia"}],"title":"Demand Side Management in Biogas Plants - Dynamic Simulation of the Influence of Time-varying Agitation on Biogas Production","status":"public","year":"2022","type":"journal_article","date_created":"2023-10-04T14:13:02Z","quality_controlled":"1","extern":"1","citation":{"ama":"Lilli L, Röder L, Gröngröft A, Grünewald M, Riese J. The model is derived from basic thermodynamical principles and consists of a convected Cahn–Hilliard equation with source terms for the tumor cells and a convected reaction–diffusion equation with boundary supply for the nutrient. Chemotactic terms, which are essential for the invasive behavior of tumors, are taken into account. The model is completed by a viscoelastic system consisting of the Navier–Stokes equation for the hydrodynamic quantities, and a general constitutive equation with stress relaxation for the left Cauchy–Green tensor associated with the elastic part of the total mechanical response of the viscoelastic material. For a specific choice of the elastic energy density and with an additional dissipative term accounting for stress diffusion, we prove existence of global-in-time weak solutions of the viscoelastic model for tumor growth in two space dimensions [Formula: see text] by the passage to the limit in a fully-discrete finite element scheme where a CFL condition, i.e. [Formula: see text], is required.
Moreover, in arbitrary dimensions [Formula: see text], we show stability and existence of solutions for the fully-discrete finite element scheme, where positive definiteness of the discrete Cauchy–Green tensor is proved with a regularization technique that was first introduced by Barrett and Boyaval [Existence and approximation of a (regularized) Oldroyd-B model, Math. After that, we improve the regularity results in arbitrary dimensions [Formula: see text] and in two dimensions [Formula: see text], where a CFL condition is required. A good metal-ligand orbital overlap to increase the ligand field splitting is achieved by optimizing the octahedricity through CO and NMe units between the coordinating pyridines which enable the formation of six-membered chelate rings. The push-pull ligand cpmp provides intra-ligand and ligand-to-ligand charge transfer (ILCT, LL'CT) excited states in addition to MLCT excited states. However, many users feel insecure because they do not understand the AI’s functionality and do not feel they are in control of it. Combining technical, psychological and philosophical views on AI, we rethink smart homes as interactive systems where users can partake in an intelligent agent’s learning. Parallel to the goals of explainable AI (XAI), we explored the possibility of user involvement in supervised learning of the smart home to have a first approach to improve acceptance, support subjective understanding and increase perceived control. In this work, we conducted two studies: In an online pre-study, we asked participants about their attitude towards teaching AI via a questionnaire. In the main study, we performed a Wizard of Oz laboratory experiment with human participants, where participants spent time in a prototypical smart home and taught activity recognition to the intelligent agent through supervised learning based on the user’s behaviour. We found that involvement in the AI’s learning phase enhanced the users’ feeling of control, perceived understanding and perceived usefulness of AI in general. The participants reported positive attitudes towards training a smart home AI and found the process understandable and controllable. We suggest that involving the user in the learning phase could lead to better personalisation and increased understanding and control by users of intelligent agents for smart home automation.","lang":"eng"}],"publication":"International Conference on Human-Agent Interaction","user_id":"11871","ddc":["000"],"publisher":"ACM","_id":"34674","has_accepted_license":"1","conference":{"start_date":"2022-12-05","name":"HAI '22: International Conference on Human-Agent Interaction","location":"Christchurch, New Zealand","end_date":"2022-12-08"},"status":"public","oa":"1","project":[{"name":"TRR 318 - B1: TRR 318 - Subproject B1","_id":"121","grant_number":"438445824"}],"quality_controlled":"1","citation":{"mla":"Sieger, Leonie Nora, et al. “User Involvement in Training Smart Home Agents.” <i>International Conference on Human-Agent Interaction</i>, ACM, 2022, doi:<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1145/3527188.3561914\">10.1145/3527188.3561914</a>.","ama":"Sieger LN, Hermann J, Schomäcker A, et al.
