They don’t require any instrumentalization and no complicated calibration or time-consuming setup anymore. But even having these benefits, some drawbacks exist. Most games only enable the user to fulfill very simple gestures like waving, jumping or stooping, which is not the natural behavior of a user. In addition the depth-sensing technology lacks of haptic feedback. Of course we cannot solve the lack of haptic feedback, but we want to improve the whole-body interaction. Our goal is to develop 3D interaction techniques that give a maximum of freedom to the user and enable her to perform precise and immersive interactions. This work focuses on whole-body interaction in immersive virtual environments. We present 3D interaction techniques that provide the user with a maximum of freedom and enables her to operate precisely and immersive in virtual environments. Furthermore we present a user study, in which we analyzed how Navigation and Manipulation techniques can be performed by users’ body-interaction using a depth-sensing camera and a huge projection screen. Therefore three alternative approaches have been developed and tested: classical gamepad interaction, an indirect pointer-based interaction and a more direct whole- body interaction technique. We compared their effectiveness and preciseness. It turned out that users act faster, while using the gamepad, but generate significantly more errors at the same time. Using depth-sensing based whole-body interaction techniques it became apparent, that the interaction is much more immersive, natural and intuitive, even if slower. We therefore use so-called domain-dependent data (D³) completely based on language-specific key expressions and HTML patterns to recognize every single event given on the investigated web page. One of the most remarkable advantages of our method is that it does not require any additional classification steps based on machine learning algorithms or keyword extraction methods; it is a so-called one-step mining technique. Moreover, another important criteria is that our system is robust to DOM and layout modifications made by web designers. Thus, preliminary experimental results are provided to demonstrate proof-of-concept of such an approach tested on websites in the German opera domain. In order to understand such kinds of dynamics, and to design distributed algorithms that behave well under dynamics, many ways to model dynamics are introduced and analyzed w.r.t. correctness and eciency of distributed algorithms. In [16], Kuhn, Lynch, and Oshman have introduced a very general, worst case type model of dynamics: The edge set of the network may change arbitrarily from step to step, the only restriction is that it is connected at all times and the set of nodes does not change. An extended model demands that a xed connected subnetwork is maintained over each time interval of length T (T-interval dynamics). They have presented, among others, algorithms for counting the number of nodes under such general models of dynamics.In this paper, we generalize their models and algorithms by adding random edge faults, i.e., we consider fault-prone dynamic networks: We assume that an edge currently existing may fail to transmit data with some probability p. We rst observe that strong counting, i.e., each node knows the correct count and stops, is not possible in a model with random edge faults. One single, powerful visualization node is supported by a group of backend nodes with weak graphics performance. While the visualization node renders the visible objects, the backend nodes asynchronously perform visibility tests and supply the front end with visible scene objects. The visualization node stores only currently visible objects in its memory, while the scene is distributed among the backend nodes’ memory without redundancy. To efficiently compute the occlusion tests in spite of that each backend node stores only a fraction of the original geometry, we complete the scene by adding highly simplified versions of the objects stored on other nodes. We test our system with 15 backend nodes. One of these additive manufacturing technologies is \"Fused Deposition Modeling\" (FDM). It is one of the most used additive manufacturing processes to produce prototypes and end-use parts. From a 3D-CAD data set, components and assemblies are manufactured out of thermoplastic material layer by layer by means of an additive process. An extrusion head deposits the molten thermoplastic filament to create each layer with a particular tool path. Due to the thermal fusion the material bonds with the layer beneath and solidifies. Thus a permanent bonding of two layers is formed. In this paper the mechanical data of parts, manufactured with the system Fortus 400mc from Stratasys with the material Ultem*9085 are presented. Tensile and flexural tests according to both, the ASTM and the ISO standard, are conducted. Test specimens are generated with the standard parameters of the native software in different build directions. The tests show different strength and strain characteristics that depend on the given structure as a result of the build direction. Furthermore tensile specimens according to the ASTM standard are generated with changed parameters of the native software to increase the mechanical strength properties. Several reports suggest that ENaC is also expressed in ocular tissues and may play a role in aqueous humor secretion and glaucoma. However, the precise localization of ENaC in the human eye is still unclear. Here, the authors studied ENaC expression in 12 normal human donor eyes and in six eyes of patients with glaucoma. Methods: Quantitative real-time PCR was used to investigate the expression of $\\alpha$-, $\\beta$-, $\\gamma$-, and $\\delta$-ENaC transcripts in ocular tissues. In addition, the authors performed immunohistochemical studies using recently generated antibodies against human $\\beta$- and $\\gamma$-ENaC. Results: At the mRNA level, all four ENaC subunits were found to be expressed in a wide range of ocular tissues from normal and glaucomatous human eyes, with the cornea, ciliary body, iris, and retina showing the highest expression levels. At the protein level, $\\beta$- and $\\gamma$-ENaC subunits showed distinct distribution patterns and could be immunolocalized primarily to the cell membranes of epithelial cells of the cornea and to the conjunctiva, iris, ciliary body, lens, and retinal pigment epithelium but also to vascular endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, stromal cells, and retinal neurons. The authors found no altered mRNA level of any subunit in glaucomatous eyes. Conclusions: All four ENaC subunits ($\\alpha$$\\beta$$\\gamma$$\\delta$) are expressed in the normal human eye, with distinct localization of subunits possibly reflecting different functional states of the channel.
