Using data from the representative German Time Use Survey 2001/02 and 2012/13, three different pairs were formed: dual-earner couples, couples with additional female income and male-breadwinner couples Findings show that mother’s employment influences the time used for everyday food routines: It was found that the higher the employment rate of mothers, the less time was spent on food routine activities. Furthermore, the daily time used for everyday food routines was reduced from 2001/02 to 2012/13. The largest reductions were seen in the group of mothers working fulltime. Besides that, fathers were more engaged in meal preparation on the weekends, although the responsibility was the mother’s. In addition, the age and number of children in a household influenced the time used for everyday food routines. However, none of the examined pair constellations can help determine an egalitarian division of everyday food routines.
The frequency-domain\r\ncoupled-mode models then combine these into fully vectorial approximations for the optical electromagnetic\r\nfields of the composite structure. Following a discretization of amplitude functions by 1D finite elements, pro-\r\ncedures from the realm of finite-element numerics are applied to establish systems of linear equations for the then-\r\ndiscrete modal amplitudes. Examples substantiate the functioning of the technique and allow for some numerical\r\nassessment. Besides exploring the static shape of the examined system, observing the machines' mechanics (e.g., motor-driven mechanisms) and transport routes for the material transport (e.g., via conveyor belts or chains, or rail-based transport systems) can play an equally important role in such a review. In practice it is often the case, that the relevant information about transport routes, or kinematic properties is either not consequently modeled in the CAD data or is lost during conversion processes. To significantly reduce the manual effort and costs for creating animations of the machines complex behavior with such limited input data for a design review, we present a set of algorithms to automatically determine geometrical properties of machine parts based only on their triangulated surfaces. The algorithms allow to detect the course of transport systems, the orientation of objects in 3d space, rotation axes of cylindrical objects and holes, the number of tooth of gears, as well as the tooth spacing of toothed racks. We implemented the algorithms in the VR system PADrend and applied them to animate virtual prototypes of real machines.","lang":"eng"}],"citation":{"chicago":"Brandt, Sascha, Claudius Jähn, Matthias Fischer, Maria Gerges, and Jan Berssenbrügge. “Automatic Derivation of Geometric Properties of Components from 3D Polygon Models.” In <i>Proceedings of the ASME 2017 International Design Engineering Technical Conferences &#38; Computers and Information in Engineering Conference, Band 1</i>, 1:91:1-91:10. We assessed the effects of a primary school-based initiative targeted at enhancing physical activity and dietary education among children with a high proportion of migration background.
\r\nMethods Four 3rd and 4th grade classes (n=70 children, 77% with migration background) participated in a 10-months intervention comprising 2 additional exercise lessons weekly and 10 nutrition lessons per school year. 6 school classes (n=125 children, 65% with migration background) served as control. Before and after the intervention, an assessment of physical fitness and motor skills and questionnaires on dietary behavior and knowledge were conducted. In a subgroup (n=37), after 6 months of the intervention, daily physical activity was assessed by accelerometer-based monitoring. Differences in changes between the groups were assessed using linear regression analyses.
\r\nResults Changes between the 2 time points for fitness and motor skill tests (differences in standard deviation scores) were larger in the intervention than in the control group for the total mean test value (β=0.38, p&lt;0.001), driven by higher improvements in 5 of the 8 test items, i.e., obstacle race (speed) (β=0.22, p=0.049), standing long jump (strength) (β=0.35, p&lt;0.001), sit-ups (strength) (β=0.33, p=0.002), stand and reach (mobility) (β=0.22, p=0.042), and 6 min run (endurance) (β=0.40, p&lt;0.001), independently of confounders. Changes in dietary knowledge and consumption frequencies did not differ between groups.
\r\nConclusions Promoting guided physical activity in a primary school setting with a high proportion of children with migration background positively affected parameters of fitness and motor skills.
"}],"date_created":"2021-11-23T16:59:43Z","department":[{"_id":"17"},{"_id":"22"},{"_id":"571"}],"type":"journal_article","publication_identifier":{"issn":["0947-7349","1439-3646"]},"author":[{"full_name":"Weber, Katharina","first_name":"Katharina","last_name":"Weber"},{"full_name":"Spörkel, Olaf","first_name":"Olaf","last_name":"Spörkel"},{"full_name":"Mertens, Melina","last_name":"Mertens","first_name":"Melina"},{"last_name":"Freese","first_name":"Alem","full_name":"Freese, Alem"},{"full_name":"Strassburger, Klaus","first_name":"Klaus","last_name":"Strassburger"},{"full_name":"Kemper, Boris","first_name":"Boris","last_name":"Kemper"},{"first_name":"Clemens","last_name":"Bachmann","full_name":"Bachmann, Clemens"},{"full_name":"Diehlmann, Knut","last_name":"Diehlmann","first_name":"Knut"},{"full_name":"Stemper, Theodor","last_name":"Stemper","first_name":"Theodor"},{"id":"65985","last_name":"Buyken","first_name":"Anette","full_name":"Buyken, Anette"},{"full_name":"Ketelhut, Kerstin","first_name":"Kerstin","last_name":"Ketelhut"},{"first_name":"Karsten","last_name":"Müssig","full_name":"Müssig, Karsten"}],"status":"public","year":"2017","title":"Positive Effects of Promoting Physical Activity and Balanced Diets in a Primary School Setting with a High Proportion of Migrant School Children","publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2022-01-06T06:57:44Z","_id":"27771","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"page":"554-562","user_id":"61597","doi":"10.1055/s-0043-101918"},{"series_title":"Lecture Notes in Computer Science","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"doi":"10.1007/978-3-319-71150-8_1","year":"2017","title":"Filtering Undesirable Flows in Networks","author":[{"first_name":"Gleb","last_name":"Polevoy","full_name":"Polevoy, Gleb","id":"83983"},{"full_name":"Trajanovski, Stojan","last_name":"Trajanovski","first_name":"Stojan"},{"last_name":"Grosso","first_name":"Paola","full_name":"Grosso, Paola"},{"last_name":"de Laat","first_name":"Cees","full_name":"de Laat, Cees"}],"publication_identifier":{"isbn":["978-3-319-71150-8"]},"date_updated":"2022-01-06T06:53:16Z","date_created":"2020-08-06T15:19:48Z","type":"conference","keyword":["flow","filter","MMSA","set cover","approximation","local ratio algorithm"],"department":[{"_id":"63"},{"_id":"541"}],"publication":"Combinatorial Optimization and Applications: 11th International Conference, COCOA 2017, Shanghai, China, December 16-18, 2017, Proceedings, Part I","extern":"1","page":"3-17","publisher":"Springer International Publishing","_id":"17652","user_id":"83983","status":"public","place":"Cham","citation":{"apa":"Polevoy, G., Trajanovski, S., Grosso, P., &#38; de Laat, C. Both admit a fairly simple heuristic called single-swap, which adds, drops or swaps open facilities until it reaches a local optimum. For both problems, it is known that this algorithm produces a solution that is at most a constant factor worse than the respective global optimum. In this paper, we show that single-swap applied to the weighted metric uncapacitated facility location and weighted discrete K-means problem is tightly PLS-complete and hence has exponential worst-case running time.","lang":"eng"}],"publication":"Lecture Notes in Computer Science","doi":"10.1007/978-3-319-57586-5_11","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"intvolume":" 10236","publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2022-01-06T06:56:00Z","publication_identifier":{"issn":["0302-9743","1611-3349"],"isbn":["9783319575858","9783319575865"]},"author":[{"id":"13291","full_name":"Brauer, Sascha","first_name":"Sascha","last_name":"Brauer"}],"title":"Complexity of Single-Swap Heuristics for Metric Facility Location and Related Problems","year":"2017"},{"citation":{"chicago":"Günter, Heinrich, Vitalij Janzen, and Gerson Meschut. “Joining Process Optimization of the Resistance Element Welding for Continually Changing Steel Material Properties.” In <i>Tagungsband Zur SCT 2017 – 5th International Conference on Steel in Cars and Trucks</i>, 2017.","ama":"Günter H, Janzen V, Meschut G.
