Über eine die Struktur des gesamten Films prägende Ästhetik des Traums werden nicht nur die traumatischen Prägungen eines auf der Flucht schuldig gewordenen Heimatlosen, sondern auch die Widersprüche einer postmigrantischen Gesellschaft gestaltet, die nach Naika Foroutan dem Anspruch, eine plurale Demokratie zu sein, nicht ohne tiefreichende Ambivalenzen begegnet.
