  abstract     = {{Several early music projects, such as the Stanford Josquin Project, have demonstrated the potential for attaining valuable new musicological insights using a corpus-based approach. However, the available musical corpora tend to be relatively small and exhibit considerable variation in encoding practices. Aspiring corpus researchers are confronted with a lack of suitable data, which needs to be addressed before they can embark on their proper research. The EarlyMuse Short Term Scientific Mission CORSICA has surveyed the current state of corpus creation and digital editing in early music. Based on this information, it has developed a vision for the future of corpus building in this field, which aims to speed up the production of digital encodings while respecting the autonomy of the encoders and acknowledging their efforts. This is important because much high-quality encoding is carried out outside the field of professional musicology, and engaging citizen scientists could help address the current shortage of research data. The CORSICA team‘s vision is informed not only by a study of the available data, standards and technologies, but also by Human-Computer Interaction, placing human goals and values before the creation of technology and work processes. The core of the vision is that successful corpus creation must be an inclusive endeavour in terms of both technology and human participation. The report concludes with an implementation plan outlining the initial steps required to realise the vision.}},

  abstract     = {{This paper presents the concept of Information Circularity Assistance, which provides decision support in the early stages of product creation for Circular Economy. Engineers in strategic product planning need to proactively predict the quantity, quality, and timing of secondary materials and returned components. For example, products with high recycled content will only be economically sustainable if the material is actually available in the future product life. Our assumption is that Information Circularity Assistance enables decision makers to incorporate insights from extreme data – high-volume, high-velocity, heterogeneous and distributed data from the product life – into product creation through intelligent Digital Twins. Artificial Intelligence can help to derive sustainable actions in favor of circular products by processing extreme data and enriching it with expert knowledge. The research contributes in three key dimensions. First, a comprehensive literature review is conducted. This review covers concepts of intelligence in Scenario-Technique for strategic product planning, Digital Twin-based analysis of extreme data and relevant technologies from Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. In all areas, the state of the art and emerging trends are identified. Secondly, the study identifies information needs along the steps of the Scenario-Technique and information offerings based on Digital Twins. The concept of Information Circularity Assistance results from the coupling of these demands and offerings, extending the Scenario-Technique beyond traditional expert-based methods. Third, we extend existing Digital Twin methods used in circularity and discuss the deployment of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence algorithms within the product creation process. Our approach uses extreme data to provide a strategic advantage in optimizing product life cycle planning, which is illustrated by two sample applications. The aim is to provide Information Circularity Assistance that will support experienced product planners, developers, and decision makers in the future.}},

  abstract     = {{Auslandsaufenthalte von Studierenden sind im Fach Musikwissenschaft an der Universität Paderborn eher eine Ausnahme. Das hat unterschiedliche Gründe, unter anderem die nicht vorhandene curriculare Verankerung. Dabei belegen diverse Untersuchungen, dass solche Aufenthalte den interkulturellen Kompetenzerwerb und damit Fähigkeiten fördern, die unabhängig vom Fach in einer globalisierten Welt immer größere Relevanz im Berufsleben einnehmen. Im Projekt wurde ein hybrides internationales Kooperationsseminar entwickelt und durchgeführt sowie in Bezug auf den Erwerb dieser wichtigen Schlüsselqualifikation evaluiert. Die Auswertung der unter anderem durch Fragebögen erhobenen Entwicklung konnte deutlich die positiven Auswirkungen eines hybriden Kooperationsseminars auf interkulturelle Kompetenzen, die Auseinandersetzung mit verschiedensten Aspekten einer anderen Kultur, darunter Geschichte, Politik, (Post-)Kolonialismus und den eigenen Privilegien aufzeigen. Zudem lassen sich aus der Evaluation weitere Ideen für rein digitale Formate ableiten. }},

  abstract     = {{This paper examines the governance and quality control of digital curriculum resources (DCR) for K-12 mathematics education in Germany. It focuses on approval processes and criteria set by the 16 federal states, arguing that these have the potential to influence the development of DCR. Using qualitative content analysis, the study explores three research questions: which DCR require official approval, the criteria applied for approval, and the extent to which these criteria are mathematics-specific. Findings indicate that 10 federal states maintain official approval systems, covering digital equivalents of printed textbooks and selected supplemental materials. However, most DCR fall outside these regulated processes, leaving their evaluation largely to individual schools and teachers. The study identifies 17 categories of quality criteria, but reveals a lack of detailed, mathematics-specific requirements. Instead, many criteria are broad references to didactical principles and educational goals, leaving the interpretation and application of these quality standards open-ended. Subject-specific criteria are included but remain limited in specificity. The study underscores the need for research-informed, mathematics-specific quality standards to guide DCR development and approval, emphasizing their importance amidst challenges like artificial intelligence. Policymakers are urged to adopt clearer criteria to ensure high-quality DCR to be used in schools.}},

  abstract     = {{Digital Servitization is one of the significant trends affecting the manufacturing industry. Companies try to tackle challenges regarding their differentiation and profitability using digital services. One specific type of digital services are smart services, which are digital services built on data from smart products. Introducing these kinds of offerings into the portfolio of manufacturing companies is not trivial. Moreover, they require conscious action to align all relevant capabilities to realize the respective business goals. However, what capabilities are generally relevant for smart services remains opaque. We conducted a systematic literature review to identify them and extended the results through an interview study. Our analysis results in 78 capabilities clustered among 12 principles and six dimensions. These results provide significant support for the smart service transformation of manufacturing companies and for structuring the research field of smart services.}},

However, in-depth analyses of the conceptualization of the model show that the specificities of the so-called dual subject matter of vocational education are not sufficiently represented. This article provides insights into the development and testing of an instrument for teachers’ self-assessment of digital competencies in vocational education.The instrument is based on the structure of TPACK but is adapted in various ways to reflect the specificities of vocational education.   abstract     = {{The energy turnaround and the shift towards sustainable mobility threaten the stability of European energy distribution grids due to substantially increasing load fluctuations and power demand. These challenges can critically impact assets in the distribution grid—e.g., switchgears—intensifying the need to plan, conduct, and manage the maintenance of such assets. Predictive maintenance strategies that analyze assets' current and historical condition data have been discussed as promising approaches toward that end. However, the extant research focuses on designing and improving analytical algorithms or information technology (IT) artifacts while not considering how a maintenance service is cocreated by companies with IT. This research article posits that IT and service must be aligned closely, presenting an ensemble artifact comprising a digital industrial platform and a smart service system for predictive maintenance on the distribution grid. The artifact is evaluated by conducting a willingness-to-pay analysis with asset operators, documenting their demand for condition monitoring and predictive maintenance as an integrated solution, although they still struggle with even getting the condition data of their assets. Building on these results, we formalize the knowledge in the form of design principles and implications for managing the maintenance of critical assets in the distribution grid.}},

  abstract     = {{Digital technologies have made the line of visibility more transparent, enabling customers to get deeper insights into an organization’s core operations than ever before. This creates new challenges for organizations trying to consistently deliver high-quality customer experiences. In this paper we conduct an empirical analysis of customers’ preferences and their willingness-to-pay for different degrees of process transparency, using the example of digitally-enabled business-to-customer delivery services. Applying conjoint analysis, we quantify customers’ preferences and willingness-to-pay for different service attributes and levels. Our contributions are two-fold: For research, we provide empirical measurements of customers’ preferences and their willingness-to-pay for process transparency, suggesting that more is not always better. Additionally, we provide a blueprint of how conjoint analysis can be applied to study design decisions regarding changing an organization’s digital line of visibility. For practice, our findings enable service managers to make decisions about process transparency and establishing different levels of service quality.

  abstract     = {{High streets across Europe continue to lose consumers to online retail, leading to business closures and the decline of city centres, impairing cities’ overall liveability. To counter this vicious cycle, our study presents smartmarket2, the first instantiation of a digital actor engagement platform designed specifically for high streets. smartmarket2 enables hybrid online-offline customer journeys by connecting consumers to stores and other high street service providers. In an action design research (ADR) project, we design, implement and evaluate smartmarket2, involving 150 high street operators and 2,300 citizens in three cycles of building, intervention and evaluation. We derive four design principles that contribute prescriptive knowledge on the design of digital actor engagement platforms. Our results reveal that such a platform is able to increase engagement, but that it is subject to actors’ engagement dispositions.}},
