The purpose of this case-control study was to examine the effects of cognitive training on joint stiffness regulation in response to negative visual stimuli and knee function following ACLR. A total of 20 ACLR patients and 20 healthy controls received four weeks of online cognitive training. Executive function, joint stiffness in response to emotionally evocative visual stimuli (neutral, fearful, knee injury related), and knee function outcomes before and after the intervention were compared. Both groups improved executive function following the intervention (p = 0.005). The ACLR group had greater mid-range stiffness in response to fearful (p = 0.024) and injury-related pictures (p = 0.017) than neutral contents before the intervention, while no post-intervention stiffness differences were observed among picture types. The ACLR group showed better single-legged hop for distance after cognitive training (p = 0.047), while the healthy group demonstrated no improvement. Cognitive training enhanced executive function, which may reduce joint stiffness dysregulation in response to emotionally arousing images and improve knee function in ACLR patients, presumably by facilitating neural processing necessary for neuromuscular control.
"}],"publication":"Healthcare","type":"journal_article"},{"year":"2022","quality_controlled":"1","title":"mobile-env: An Open Platform for Reinforcement Learning in Wireless Mobile Networks","publisher":"IEEE","date_created":"2022-03-10T18:28:14Z","abstract":[{"text":"Recent reinforcement learning approaches for continuous control in wireless mobile networks have shown impressive\r\nresults. But due to the lack of open and compatible simulators, authors typically create their own simulation environments for training and evaluation. This is cumbersome and time-consuming for authors and limits reproducibility and comparability, ultimately impeding progress in the field.\r\n\r\nTo this end, we propose mobile-env, a simple and open platform for training, evaluating, and comparing reinforcement learning and conventional approaches for continuous control in mobile wireless networks. mobile-env is lightweight and implements the common OpenAI Gym interface and additional wrappers, which allows connecting virtually any single-agent or multi-agent reinforcement learning framework to the environment. While mobile-env provides sensible default values and can be used out of the box, it also has many configuration options and is easy to extend. We therefore believe mobile-env to be a valuable platform for driving meaningful progress in autonomous coordination of\r\nwireless mobile networks.","lang":"eng"}],"file":[{"relation":"main_file","content_type":"application/pdf","file_size":223412,"file_id":"30237","access_level":"open_access","file_name":"author_version.pdf","date_updated":"2022-03-10T18:25:41Z","creator":"stschn","date_created":"2022-03-10T18:25:41Z"}],"publication":"IEEE/IFIP Network Operations and Management Symposium (NOMS)","ddc":["004"],"keyword":["wireless mobile networks","network management","continuous control","cognitive networks","autonomous coordination","reinforcement learning","gym environment","simulation","open source"],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"citation":{"mla":"Schneider, Stefan Balthasar, et al. “Mobile-Env: An Open Platform for Reinforcement Learning in Wireless Mobile Networks.” <i>IEEE/IFIP Network Operations and Management Symposium (NOMS)</i>, IEEE, 2022.","bibtex":"@inproceedings{Schneider_Werner_Khalili_Hecker_Karl_2022, title={mobile-env: An Open Platform for Reinforcement Learning in Wireless Mobile Networks}, booktitle={IEEE/IFIP Network Operations and Management Symposium (NOMS)}, publisher={IEEE}, author={Schneider, Stefan Balthasar and Werner, Stefan and Khalili, Ramin and Hecker, Artur and Karl, Holger}, year={2022} }","short":"S.B. The future existence and success of the organization is depending on selected product ideas. To find the best fitting idea for an organization, it needs evaluation criteria representing the organizations mission Therefore, this study focuses on a holistic overview about evaluation criteria and on supporting organizations in the process to select its individual evaluation criteria. Based on a literature study, existing approaches regarding evaluation criteria in product idea selection are identified and a list of evaluation criteria is reworked. Using the list of evaluation criteria, a prioritization method is created. Within an interview with experts in innovation management, the method is discussed regarding usability and the level of assistance in product idea selection.
","lang":"eng"}],"language":[{"iso":"ger"}],"keyword":["Strategy and Management","Applied Psychology","Social Sciences (miscellaneous)","Education","Communication","Statistics and Probability"],"issue":"02","quality_controlled":"1","year":"2022","date_created":"2022-12-05T13:25:58Z","publisher":"Waxmann","title":"Rekonstruktive Evaluationsforschung im Kontext praxeologischer Kompetenzdiskurse. Providing such services requires to decide how often to instantiate each component, where to place these instances in the network, how to chain them and route traffic through them. \r\nTo overcome limitations of conventional, hardwired heuristics, deep reinforcement learning (DRL) approaches for self-learning network and service management have emerged recently. These model-free DRL approaches are more flexible but typically learn tabula rasa, i.e., disregard existing understanding of networks, services, and their coordination. \r\n\r\nInstead, we propose FutureCoord, a novel model-based AI approach that leverages existing understanding of networks and services for more efficient and effective coordination without time-intensive training. FutureCoord combines Monte Carlo Tree Search with a stochastic traffic model. This allows FutureCoord to estimate the impact of future incoming traffic and effectively optimize long-term effects, taking fluctuating demand and Quality of Service (QoS) requirements into account. Our extensive evaluation based on real-world network topologies, services, and traffic traces indicates that FutureCoord clearly outperforms state-of-the-art model-free and model-based approaches with up to 51% higher flow success ratios."}],"publication":"IEEE/IFIP Network Operations and Management Symposium (NOMS)"},{"year":"2022","issue":"3","title":"Shifting ML value creation mechanisms: A process model of ML value creation","publisher":"Elsevier BV","date_created":"2022-08-17T07:03:55Z","file":[{"file_id":"32867","access_level":"closed","file_name":"1-s2.0-S0963868722000300-main.pdf","file_size":1980258,"creator":"omueller","date_created":"2022-08-17T07:04:41Z","date_updated":"2022-08-17T07:04:41Z","relation":"main_file","success":1,"content_type":"application/pdf"}],"publication":"The Journal of Strategic Information Systems","keyword":["Information Systems and Management","Information Systems","Management Information Systems"],"ddc":["000"],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"intvolume":" 31","citation":{"chicago":"Shollo, Arisa, Konstantin Hopf, Tiemo Thiess, and Oliver Müller. “Shifting ML Value Creation Mechanisms: A Process Model of ML Value Creation.” <i>The Journal of Strategic Information Systems</i> 31, no. 3 (2022). <a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jsis.2022.101734\">https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jsis.2022.101734</a>.","ieee":"A. Based on automated text mining and unsupervised machine learning, we collect, analyze, and interpret the IS discipline’s comprehensive research on platforms—comprising 11,049 papers spanning 44 years of research activity. From a cluster analysis concerning platform concepts’ semantically most similar words, we identify six research streams on platforms, each with their own platform terms. Based on interpreting the identified concepts vis-à-vis the extant research and considering a temporal perspective on the concepts’ application, we present a lexicon of platform concepts, to guide further research on platforms in the IS discipline. Through the lens of systems theory, this study examines how the degree to which IT is embedded in a firm's strategy and day‐to‐day business processes is associated with the firm's social and environmental value creation. Using a broad international dataset, we find strong evidence that our measure of IT is positively related to a firm's sustainability performance (SP), which we use to operationalize social and environmental value creation (or erosion). Our results also reveal that the increase in a firm's SP might come at the cost of a short‐term decrease in financial performance (FP). We find no indication, however, that IT induces a trade‐off between SP and long‐term FP. Integrated thinking appears to stipulate long‐term financial value creation instead. We further explore moderating factors within the organizational and institutional context of our sample firms and highlight implications for society, corporate practice, and policymaking.
","lang":"eng"}],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"keyword":["Management","Monitoring","Policy and Law","Strategy and Management","Geography","Planning and Development","Business and International Management"]},{"abstract":[{"lang":"eng","text":"
Integrated reporting has widely been promoted as the next evolutionary step in corporate disclosure, which would soon replace traditional reporting practices. Embedded in a zeitgeist that favors sustainability, this outlook would suggest high integrated reporting adoption rates among reporting organizations. Our analysis of integrated reporting in Germany from 2008 to 2019 shows, however, that organizations approached integrated reporting with a wait-and-see mentality. This approach cannot be described adequately by the existing conceptualizations of (partial) practice adoption. We therefore develop the notion of wait-and-see-ism, defined as the deliberate and potentially long-lasting postponement of a decision to adopt a practice while its further development is monitored silently. We see limited, though continuous, efforts to prepare for the prospect of adopting the practice of integrated reporting quickly at a later stage. Wait-and-see-ism expands on prior work on partial adoption by emphasizing its temporal dimension. This adds an important yet undertheorized option that organizations can employ to respond to ambiguous institutional demands, thus explaining the stalling of promising management practices.
"}],"publication":"Strategic Organization","keyword":["Strategy and Management","Industrial relations","Education","Business and International Management"],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"year":"2022","issue":"3","title":"Wait-and-see-ism as partial adoption of management practices: The rise and stall of integrated reporting","publisher":"SAGE Publications","date_created":"2023-10-10T10:04:38Z","status":"public","type":"journal_article","_id":"47923","user_id":"21810","department":[{"_id":"186"},{"_id":"815"}],"citation":{"apa":"Endenich, C., Hahn, R., Reimsbach, D., &#38; Wickert, C. This study systematically reviews how Albert and Whetten’s concept of organizational identity has been disseminated in different research areas. It employs quantitative (topic modeling) and qualitative text analysis, as well as a network analysis to examine a sample of 1,041 papers published between 1985 and mid-2022 that cite Albert and Whetten’s seminal work. Using this method of systematic literature analysis, the current study investigates the criteria of the basic definition and hypotheses mentioned in their work that contribute to its increasing significance, and those with the potential to become substantial aspects of future organizational identity research. Accordingly, Albert and Whetten’s conceptualization of organizational identity is often partially adopted in the literature. Thus, this study contributes to organizational identity research by unveiling further research questions on the evolving character of organizational identity, research methodology, and quantitative operationalization, on the basis of Albert and Whetten’s organizational identity conceptualization.
","lang":"eng"}]},{"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"keyword":["Social media","Social media marketing process","Social media strategy","Social media management","Guidelines"],"department":[{"_id":"198"}],"user_id":"20388","_id":"34317","status":"public","publication":"Proceedings of the 33rd Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS 2022)","type":"conference","conference":{"name":"ACIS 2022","location":"Melbourne, Australia"},"title":"Towards a Process Model for Social Media Marketing","date_created":"2022-12-10T15:32:15Z","author":[{"first_name":"Kader","last_name":"Arslan","id":"20388","full_name":"Arslan, Kader"},{"first_name":"Matthias","id":"72744","full_name":"Trier, Matthias","last_name":"Trier"}],"date_updated":"2023-12-26T11:06:43Z","citation":{"apa":"Arslan, K., &#38; Trier, M.
