As a result of this success, more and more companies want to build their own platforms and participate in the success. However, building and operating a digital platform involves multiple challenges and most of such ambitions fail. Since most digital platforms fail, strategic leadership of digital platforms must consider both success factors and reasons for platform failure. For this purpose, we conducted a systematic literature analysis and identified 24 success as well as failure factors in 9 dimensions. From a scientific perspective, the article provides a structured analysis of success and failure factors of digital platforms, which previously did not exist in literature. Practitioners can use the resulting knowledge base to successfully manage platform activities and avoid pitfalls."}],"date_created":"2022-11-03T23:11:13Z","file":[{"success":1,"content_type":"application/pdf","file_id":"33993","access_level":"closed","file_size":301409,"file_name":"[ÖKD+22]_Why do Digital Platforms succeed or fail - A Literature Review on Success and Failure Factors.pdf","date_updated":"2022-11-03T23:07:27Z","relation":"main_file","date_created":"2022-11-03T23:07:27Z","creator":"loezcan"}],"department":[{"_id":"563"}],"type":"conference","keyword":["Digital Platform","Multi-sided Market","Two-sided Market","Success Factor","Failure Factor"],"conference":{"location":"Minneapolis","name":"28th Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS)"},"author":[{"id":"45137","first_name":"Leon","last_name":"Özcan","full_name":"Özcan, Leon"},{"last_name":"Koldewey","first_name":"Christian","full_name":"Koldewey, Christian"},{"last_name":"Duparc","first_name":"Estelle","full_name":"Duparc, Estelle"},{"full_name":"van der Valk, Hendrik","last_name":"van der Valk","first_name":"Hendrik"},{"last_name":"Otto","first_name":"Boris","full_name":"Otto, Boris"},{"last_name":"Dumitrescu","first_name":"Roman","full_name":"Dumitrescu, Roman"}],"year":"2022","status":"public","title":"Why do Digital Platforms succeed or fail? - A Literature Review on Success and Failure Factors","has_accepted_license":"1","date_updated":"2022-11-03T23:14:33Z","_id":"33991","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"main_file_link":[{"url":"https://aisel.aisnet.org/amcis2022/sig_dite/sig_dite/15/"}],"ddc":["600"],"user_id":"45137"},{"abstract":[{"text":"Q is an exploratory method used to elicit discrete patterns of subjectivity (e.g., subjective theories, beliefs). To be more concrete, Q method aims to identify homogeneous latent clusters of viewpoints towards a certain topic from a larger more heterogeneous set of (a priori unknown) different viewpoints held by respondents in the population. For this purpose, study participants are asked to sort qualitative statements concerning a certain topic (e.g., their beliefs toward something) into a grid roughly following a normal distribution indicating whether they agree or disagree with the given propositions. This results in a so-called Q-sort for each participant that then can be fed into a factor analysis that compares the different Q-sorts and groups them by similarity. In the first part of the chapter, Q method is introduced. The second part of the chapter describes a small study focusing on student teachers and their perspectives concerning upcoming long-term school internships.","lang":"eng"}],"publication":" Methods for researching professional learning and development: Challenges, applications and empirical illustrations","keyword":["Q method","Subjectivity","Internships","Teacher education","Q sort"],"type":"book_chapter","date_created":"2023-01-06T11:47:17Z","intvolume":" 33","publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2023-01-06T12:16:56Z","publication_identifier":{"issn":["2210-5549"],"eissn":["2210-5557"],"isbn":["978-3-031-08517-8"],"eisbn":["978-3-031-08518-5"]},"author":[{"first_name":"Susann","last_name":"Leidig","full_name":"Leidig, Susann"},{"first_name":"Hanna","last_name":"Köhler","full_name":"Köhler, Hanna"},{"id":"23123","full_name":"Caruso, Carina","first_name":"Carina","last_name":"Caruso"},{"last_name":"Goller","first_name":"Michael","orcid":"0000-0002-2820-9178","full_name":"Goller, Michael","id":"30984"}],"year":"2022","title":"Q Method: Assessing Subjectivity Through Structured Ranking of Items","doi":"10.1007/978-3-031-08518-5_20","series_title":"Professional and Practice-based Learning","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"citation":{"short":"S.
