Therefore, a suitable prognostic approach to predict the remaining useful lifetime of complex technical systems is required. To handle different kinds of uncertainties, a novel Multi-Model-Particle Filtering-based prognostic approach is developed and evaluated by the use case of rubber-metal-elements. These elements are maintained preventively due to the strong influence of uncertainties on their behavior. In this paper, two measurement quantities are compared concerning their ability to establish a prediction of the remaining useful lifetime of the monitored elements and the influence of present uncertainties. Based on three performance indices, the results are evaluated. A comparison with predictions of a classical Particle Filter underlines the superiority of the developed Multi-Model-Particle Filter. Finally, the value of the developed method for enabling condition monitoring of technical systems related to uncertainties is given exemplary by a comparison between the preventive and the predictive maintenance strategy for the use case.
"}],"issue":"10","publication":"Machines","doi":"10.3390/machines9100210","main_file_link":[{"open_access":"1","url":"https://www.mdpi.com/2075-1702/9/10/210"}],"article_number":"210","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"date_updated":"2022-11-03T11:42:46Z","publication_status":"published","intvolume":" 9","article_type":"original","year":"2021","title":"A Multi-Model-Particle Filtering-Based Prognostic Approach to Consider Uncertainties in RUL Predictions","publication_identifier":{"issn":["2075-1702"]},"author":[{"full_name":"Bender, Amelie","first_name":"Amelie","last_name":"Bender","id":"54290"}],"oa":"1","quality_controlled":"1","citation":{"bibtex":"@article{Bender_2021, title={A Multi-Model-Particle Filtering-Based Prognostic Approach to Consider Uncertainties in RUL Predictions}, volume={9}, DOI={<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.3390/machines9100210\">10.3390/machines9100210</a>}, number={10210}, journal={Machines}, author={Bender, Amelie}, year={2021} }","chicago":"Bender, Amelie. “A Multi-Model-Particle Filtering-Based Prognostic Approach to Consider Uncertainties in RUL Predictions.” <i>Machines</i> 9, no. 10 (2021). <a href=\"https://doi.org/10.3390/machines9100210\">https://doi.org/10.3390/machines9100210</a>.","ama":"Bender A. She was famous in her lifetime and was not completely forgotten thereafter. Among her admirers, correspondents and friends were the most acknowledged scholars of her time, including Voltaire, Clairault, Maupertuis, Diderot, Helvetius, La Mettrie, Buffon, Christian Wolff, Leonard Euler, and Johann II Bernoulli. Her philosophical work enjoyed high reputation and her opus magnum, the Institutions physiques, was translated into Italian and German and proved her to be an intellectual of European stature. Its defense of living forces and its implied forecast into dynamics as well as her methodological grounding of scientific knowledge as hypothetical, impacted philosophy and science. Reality must by nature escape us. What we perceive are phenomena. Du Châtelet explains the function of space and time to trace us back to the origin of phenomena. Her influence on Kant is evident. Next to her writings in physics, mathematics, philosophy, language, and logic, she contributed to morality and ethics. Du Châtelet left an opus of quite systematic breadth. This impressive publishing activity excels in the amount of its scientific and philosophical production to which a vast collection of manuscripts must be added. She argued against prejudice and idolatry in philosophy and science. Science is a cooperative undertaking over history and beyond nations. Her moral writings align with ideas of the French materialists. Du Châtelet translated and commented on Newton’s Principia, preparing thus the fertile soil of the generation of physicists to come in France.","lang":"eng"}],"date_created":"2022-12-21T11:54:55Z","place":"Cham","department":[{"_id":"615"},{"_id":"14"},{"_id":"519"}],"type":"book_chapter","keyword":["aura Bassi Luise Gottsched Immanuel Kant Dourtous de Mairan Johann II Bernoulli Algarotti Buffon d’Alembert La Mettrie Principle of contradiction Hypotheses Enlightenment Leibniz-Clarke Correspondence Living forces Dead forces","happiness Space Imaginary beings Monads Epicurus Ethics Women philosophers Newton’s laws Principia Motion inertia Active force Vis viva Vis mortua Hypothetic reasoning Hypotheses","a priori principles","Experience","Dead forces","Living forces","Energy Dynamics"],"publication_identifier":{"isbn":["9783319207919","9783319207919"]},"author":[{"id":"198","first_name":"Ruth","last_name":"Hagengruber","orcid":"https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3360-6335","full_name":"Hagengruber, Ruth"}],"status":"public","title":"Du Châtelet, Émilie (1706–1749)","year":"2021","publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2023-01-12T10:06:49Z","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"_id":"34707","publisher":"Springer International Publishing","user_id":"14931","doi":"10.1007/978-3-319-20791-9_410-1"},{"citation":{"apa":"Hubner-Benz, S., Rudic, B., &#38; Baum, M. As a baseline result, we provide evidence for significantly positive cumulative average abnormal CDS spread changes for both, European and North American acquirers suggesting that CDS investors perceive an increase in the acquiring firms’ credit risk exposures due to M&A announcements. Our baseline finding holds under several robustness checks, especially when controlling for the robustness of the empirical design. Moreover, results from a large variety of sensitivity analyses reveal a number of deal and firm characteristics that may explain why CDS investors from our sample expect an increase in the acquirers’ credit risk exposures due to forthcoming M&A transactions. However, introducing AI may negatively impact employees’ identifications with their jobs as AI is expected to fundamentally change workplaces and professions, feeding into individuals’ fears of being replaced. To broaden the understanding of the AI identity threat, the findings of this study reveal three central predictors for AI identity threat in the workplace: changes to work, loss of status position, and AI identity predicting AI identity threat in the workplace. This study enriches information systems literature by extending our understanding of collaboration with AI in the workplace to drive future research in this field. As a result, the use of aluminum alloys is continuously increasing. Due to poor weldability of aluminum in combination with other materials, mechanical joining technologies like clinching are increasingly used. In order to predict relevant characteristics of clinched joints and to ensure the reliability of the process, it is simulated numerically during product development processes. In this regard the predictive accuracy of the simulated process highly depends on the implemented friction model. In particular, the frictional behavior between the sheet metals affects the geometrical formation of the clinched joint significantly. This paper presents a testing method, which enables to determine the frictional coefficients between sheet metal materials for the simulation of clinching processes. For this purpose, the correlation of interface pressure and the relative velocity between aluminum sheets in clinching processes is investigated using numerical simulation. Furthermore, the developed testing method focuses on the specimen geometry as well as the reproduction of the occurring friction conditions between two sheet metal materials in clinching processes. Based on a methodical approach the test setup is explained and the functionality of the method is proven by experimental tests using sheet metal material EN AW6014.","lang":"eng"}],"date_created":"2022-12-05T21:57:07Z","department":[{"_id":"630"},{"_id":"157"}],"type":"journal_article","keyword":["Mechanical Engineering","Mechanics of Materials","General Materials Science"],"publication_identifier":{"issn":["1662-9795"]},"author":[{"id":"44503","full_name":"Rossel, Moritz Sebastian","last_name":"Rossel","first_name":"Moritz Sebastian"},{"id":"45779","last_name":"Böhnke","first_name":"Max","full_name":"Böhnke, Max"},{"first_name":"Christian Roman","last_name":"Bielak","full_name":"Bielak, Christian Roman","id":"34782"},{"id":"7850","first_name":"Mathias","last_name":"Bobbert","full_name":"Bobbert, Mathias"},{"id":"32056","orcid":"0000-0002-2763-1246","last_name":"Meschut","first_name":"Gerson","full_name":"Meschut, Gerson"}],"year":"2021","title":"Development of a Method for the Identification of Friction Coefficients in Sheet Metal Materials for the Numerical Simulation of Clinching Processes","intvolume":" 883","date_updated":"2023-03-09T11:43:31Z","publication_status":"published","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"doi":"10.4028/www.scientific.net/kem.883.81","citation":{"chicago":"Rossel, Moritz Sebastian, Max Böhnke, Christian Roman Bielak, Mathias Bobbert, and Gerson Meschut. “Development of a Method for the Identification of Friction Coefficients in Sheet Metal Materials for the Numerical Simulation of Clinching Processes.” <i>Key Engineering Materials</i> 883 (2021): 81–88. <a href=\"https://doi.org/10.4028/www.scientific.net/kem.883.81\">https://doi.org/10.4028/www.scientific.net/kem.883.81</a>.","short":"M.S. A simple and industrial common method for joining dissimilar and coated materials is clinching. During the joining process and due to the service load cracks can occur in the area of the joint, propagate due to cyclic loading and consequently lead to structural failure. For the prevention of these damage cases, first of all knowledge about the fracture mechanical material parameters regarding the original material state of the sheet metals used within the clinching process are essential.Within the scope of this paper experimental and numerical preliminary investigations regarding the fracture mechanical behavior of sheet metals used within the clinching process are presented. Due to the low thickness of 1.5 mm of the material sheets, the development of a new specimen is necessary to determine the crack growth rate curve including the fracture mechanical parameters like the threshold against crack growth ΔKI,th and the fracture toughness KIC of the base material HCT590X. For the experimental determination of the crack growth rate curve the numerical calculation of the geometry factor function as well as the calibration function of this special specimen are essential. After the experimental validation of the numerically determined calibration function, crack growth rate curves are determined for the stress ratios R = 0.1 and R = 0.3 to examine the mean stress sensitivity. In addition, the different rolling directions of 0° and 90° in relation to the initial crack are taken into account in order to investigate the influence of the anisotropy due to rolling.
","lang":"eng"}],"date_created":"2022-03-29T08:09:01Z","department":[{"_id":"143"}],"type":"conference","keyword":["Mechanical Engineering","Mechanics of Materials","General Materials Science"]},{"issue":"23","publication":"Advanced Materials","keyword":["Mechanical Engineering","Mechanics of Materials","General Materials Science"],"type":"journal_article","department":[{"_id":"15"},{"_id":"170"},{"_id":"297"},{"_id":"230"},{"_id":"35"}],"date_created":"2023-01-26T15:51:03Z","date_updated":"2023-04-20T15:33:14Z","publication_status":"published","intvolume":" 33","title":"Atomically Thin Sheets of Lead‐Free 1D Hybrid Perovskites Feature Tunable White‐Light Emission from Self‐Trapped Excitons","year":"2021","publication_identifier":{"issn":["0935-9648","1521-4095"]},"author":[{"first_name":"Philip","last_name":"Klement","full_name":"Klement, Philip"},{"full_name":"Dehnhardt, Natalie","last_name":"Dehnhardt","first_name":"Natalie"},{"id":"67188","full_name":"Dong, Chuan-Ding","first_name":"Chuan-Ding","last_name":"Dong"},{"first_name":"Florian","last_name":"Dobener","full_name":"Dobener, Florian"},{"full_name":"Bayliff, Samuel","last_name":"Bayliff","first_name":"Samuel"},{"full_name":"Winkler, Julius","first_name":"Julius","last_name":"Winkler"},{"first_name":"Detlev M.","last_name":"Hofmann","full_name":"Hofmann, Detlev M."},{"first_name":"Peter J.","last_name":"Klar","full_name":"Klar, Peter J."},{"id":"27271","full_name":"Schumacher, Stefan","first_name":"Stefan","orcid":"0000-0003-4042-4951","last_name":"Schumacher"},{"last_name":"Chatterjee","first_name":"Sangam","full_name":"Chatterjee, Sangam"},{"last_name":"Heine","first_name":"Johanna","full_name":"Heine, Johanna"}],"doi":"10.1002/adma.202100518","article_number":"2100518","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"project":[{"_id":"52","name":"PC2: Computing Resources Provided by the Paderborn Center for Parallel Computing"}],"citation":{"short":"P. Nevertheless, the currently rigid tool systems are not able to react to changing boundary conditions, like changing the material-geometry-combination. Therefore research work is crucial with regard to versatile joining systems.
