text: 'What can the tax authorities do to encourage citizens to pay their taxes
more honestly? They can promote honest tax payments in the media! Such tax education,
which is completely unfamiliar to German taxpayers, can look back on a long tradition
in the USA, for example, and other countries. It has also been practised in Spain
since the end of the 1960s and intensified after the transition to democracy.
A Treasury television advertisement from 1990 allows an analysis of the narratives
used by tax education in the young Spanish democracy. The intense and difficult
struggle by state institutions for democratic, equal rights for all citizens even
15 years after Franco''s death becomes obvious. '

text: The construct of noticing is considered to be of crucial importance for professional
action of (prospective) physical education (PE) teachers in the context of (inclusive)
PE. In order to implement the demands of inclusive PE teaching, noticingwith regard
to processes of recognition proves to be particularly significant. Due to the
relevance of physicality, the design of recognition relationships that encourage
pupils' development results in specific requirements for the selective attention
and the theory-based interpretation of processes of recognition and disregard
in complex teaching situations. This facet of competence has hardly been studied
so far, partly due to the lack of instruments for standardised assessment of this
construct. In the context of this paper, the development and validation of a standardised,
video vignette-based test instrument for the measurement of noticingwith regard
to processes of recognition of prospective PE teachers is presented. The validation
focuses on the content of the test and the internal structure of the instrument
as well as on correlations with related constructs in terms of content. The results
from three consecutive validation studies provide indications of the reliability
and validity of the test score interpretation of the instrument ViProQiS_A. The
findings so far indicate that the standardised measurement of noticingwith regard
to processes of recognitionin inclusive PE could be realized on the basis of the
    test instrument developed here.

text: 'Sociogenesis addresses a pervasive problem in psychology given by Cartesian
dualism that assigns the mental an inner locus apart from material activity. Aligning
ourselves to the ongoing critical discussions of interiorization in psychology,
we explore the crucial notion of space by highlighting language as sociocultural
and dialogical activity performed by other-oriented individuals. We discuss space
in terms of the “language spacetime”, a symbolic, embodied formation of mutually
positioned speaking and listening selves. This leads beyond the “inside-outside”
container metaphor and allows for a reformulation of interiorization. Interiorization
is conceptualized as a continuous series of different, though mutually related
movements between self and other and self and self that lead to and are supported
by specific formations in language activity: reversion, transposition, and decoupling.
Along a short passage of a video-based interview, we trace the reversion of dialogical
positions within the addressivity constellation of the two interlocutors, their
interactive creation of a heterotopic spacetime, and the decoupling of one speaker''s
psychological activity from the concrete here-and-now and the present other by
moving and acting into this new sphere. Interiorization appears as a movement
at the border of past, present, and possible future(s).'

text: For an environment to be perceived as being smart, contextual information
has to be gathered to adapt the system's behavior and its interface towards the
user. Being a rich source of context information speech can be acquired unobtrusively
by microphone arrays and then processed to extract information about the user
and his environment. In this paper, a system for joint temporal segmentation,
speaker localization, and identification is presented, which is supported by face
identification from video data obtained from a steerable camera. Special attention
is paid to latency aspects and online processing capabilities, as they are important
for the application under investigation, namely ambient communication. It describes
the vision of terminal-less, session-less and multi-modal telecommunication with
remote partners, where the user can move freely within his home while the communication
follows him. The speaker diarization serves as a context source, which has been
integrated in a service-oriented middleware architecture and provided to the application
to select the most appropriate I/O device and to steer the camera towards the
    speaker during ambient communication.

text: With the wide availability of network supporting hard-and software cooperative
computer-based environments became extremely popular. A wide range of CSCW (Computer
Supported Cooperative Work) tools with video conferencing, electronic mail, shared
whiteboards, discussion forums, and shared information systems are already part
of daily business. In contrast to the unstructured linear stream of information
in electronic mails shared workspaces provide structured administration of electronic
information like documents, voice, pictures, and movies. Popular examples of shared
workspaces are BSCW (Basic Support for Cooperative Work), Hypernews, Lotus Notes,
Alta Vista Forum, Lifelink, Microsoft Exchange and Webshare. Currently, all these
systems are not flexible enough to get easily customized to the requirements of
the individual application and user only supporting a limited set of predefined
different views and functionality. This article introduces VIPspace (Visually
Programmable Workspace). VIPspace can be easily customized to the individual needs
of an user through VIPrule, a combination of a form- and icon-based visual programming
language. VIPrule is based on an easy-to-use drag and drop paradigm. Direct manipulation
via drag and drop allows easy access to local file systems as well as manipulation,
exchange, and publication of shared multimedia documents. As VIPspace is implemented
in Java it nicely integrates with other web-applications and provides a platform
independent environment with a uniform graphical user interface.
