The miniaturisation of components leads to new demands on measurement systems. One of these is the resolution. As a volumetric analysis method and method of non-destructive testing, industrial X-ray computed\r\ntomography (XCT) has the ability to measure geometrical features and their corresponding dimensions without destroying them and can therefore be used for quality assurance. However, the concept of resolution is not trivial for XCT and has not yet been finally clarified. In particular, the interface structural resolution, the detectability of two surfaces facing each other after surface segmentation, faces a lack of a test specimen, a corresponding\r\nmeasurand and a reliable method. Simulation-based XCT investigations of a method to determine this type of resolution are presented in this article using the geometry of a test specimen that contains several radially\r\narranged holes of the same size. The borehole diameters correspond to the distance between the holes to investigate the resolvability of surfaces and interfaces. The evaluation is based on mean and extreme values of grey value\r\nprofiles between the individual boreholes of the reconstructed volume. It is shown that the geometrical detectability of the test specimen surface and interface can be extended by a reasonable choice of the threshold value for\r\nsurface segmentation within a defined interval. With regard to the resolving capability, a distinction is made between assured detectability and possible detectability, as well as the threshold value used when using the ISO50\r\nthreshold for surface segmentation and measurement chain completion. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) allow for acquisition, management, analysis, and presentation of geospatial objects. With free geospatial data becoming available through open data policies and an increasing amount of digitally connected objects in the Internet of Things (IoT), GIS are becoming indispensable to Information Systems (IS) research. However, the consideration and relevance of GIS has only been investigated rarely. We examine, how and in which fields of application GIS have been studied in the IS literature and elicit the importance of GIS regarding their design and usage. A systematic literature review leads us to develop four research propositions. Our results indicate that GIS are still an undeservedly underrepresented discipline in IS and should be more theorized, put center-stage in design-oriented research, and considered for creating superior value co-creation in service systems."}],"citation":{"ama":"Priefer J. The effects of both systems are intensively debated by EU Member States as they are striving to implement a European tax system. Its introduction would lead to a switch from SA to FA. Moreover, Pillar One of the recent global tax reform includes a mix of both tax base allocation systems. We find that, against the claims of the EU, FA does not necessarily create lower distortions of the factor allocation. Decisive for that assessment is the level of profit shifting under SA. Our results indicate that, in tendency, the factor allocation is more severely distorted by FA when the profit shifting possibilities were rather low under SA. In contrast to former studies, we highlight the importance of analyzing the status quo under the recently applied system (SA) in order to be able to assess the consequences of a switch from SA to FA. Our results are interesting for policy-makers as they help anticipating reactions of MNEs to a change in the applied tax base allocation system and for companies as a basis for future tax planning.
","lang":"eng"}],"publication":"Journal of Business Economics","citation":{"short":"R. This paper presents a case study of several customer service accounts of the railway company Deutsche Bahn on Twitter to investigate the management and control of constant NWOM and the impact of accountability strategies on customers’ perception of the firm. To this end, a sample of 36,757 Twitter postings was drawn and analyzed by means of sentiment and content analysis techniques. The findings suggest that the perceived accountability towards the firm declined in case of an attitude shift towards the user. In contrast, the firm was being held accountable more insistently after expressed defensiveness, regardless of the firm’s actual accountableness. With this paper, we introduce the notion of accountability management and an accompanying theoretical framework to the literature. In this respect, this paper reports the characterization of a unidirectional carbon fiber reinforced polymer composite material. Particularly, the mechanical behavior of the overall composite and of the individual constituents of the composite is investigated. To this end, tensile and shear tests are performed for the composite. As a result, statistics for five transversely isotropic material parameters can be established for the composite. For the description of the mechanical properties of the constituents, tensile tests for the carbon fiber as well as for the polymer matrix are carried out. In addition, the volume fraction of fibers in the matrix is determined experimentally using an ashing technique and Archimedes’ principle. For the Young’s modulus of the fiber, the Young’s modulus and transverse contraction of the matrix, as well as the volume fraction of the constituents, statistics can be concluded. The resulting mechanical properties on both scales are useful for the application and validation of different material models and homogenization methods. Finally, in order to validate the obtained properties in the future, inhomogeneous tests were performed, once a flat plate with a hole and a flat plate with semicircular notches.
","lang":"eng"}]},{"publication":"Composite Structures","citation":{"chicago":"Lenz, Peter, and Rolf Mahnken. “Non-Local Integral-Type Damage Combined to Mean-Field Homogenization Methods for Composites and Its Parallel Implementation.” <i>Composite Structures</i>, 2023. <a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1016/j.compstruct.2023.116911\">https://doi.org/10.1016/j.compstruct.2023.116911</a>.","short":"P. However, three-dimensional metasurfaces with the potential to provide additional light–matter manipulation flexibility attract only little interest. Here, we demonstrate a three-dimensional metasurface scheme capable of providing dual phase control through out-of-plane plasmonic resonance of L-shape antennas. Under circularly polarized excitation at a specific wavelength, the L-shape antennas with rotating orientation angle act as spatially variant three-dimensional tilted dipoles and are able to generate desire phase delay for different polarization components. Generalized Snell's law is achieved for both in-plane and out-of-plane dipole components through arranging such L-shape antennas into arrays. These three-dimensional metasurfaces suggest a route for wavefront modulation and a variety of nanophotonic applications."}],"issue":"14","publication":"Applied Physics Letters","doi":"10.1063/5.0142389","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"article_number":"141702","intvolume":" 122","article_type":"original","date_updated":"2023-04-06T06:02:58Z","publication_status":"published","author":[{"first_name":"Tianyou","last_name":"Li","full_name":"Li, Tianyou"},{"first_name":"Yanjie","last_name":"Chen","full_name":"Chen, Yanjie"},{"first_name":"Yongtian","last_name":"Wang","full_name":"Wang, Yongtian"},{"id":"30525","orcid":"0000-0002-8662-1101","last_name":"Zentgraf","first_name":"Thomas","full_name":"Zentgraf, Thomas"},{"full_name":"Huang, Lingling","first_name":"Lingling","last_name":"Huang"}],"publication_identifier":{"issn":["0003-6951","1077-3118"]},"year":"2023","title":"Three-dimensional dipole momentum analog based on L-shape metasurface","quality_controlled":"1","citation":{"bibtex":"@article{Li_Chen_Wang_Zentgraf_Huang_2023, title={Three-dimensional dipole momentum analog based on L-shape metasurface}, volume={122}, DOI={<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1063/5.0142389\">10.1063/5.0142389</a>}, number={14141702}, journal={Applied Physics Letters}, publisher={AIP Publishing}, author={Li, Tianyou and Chen, Yanjie and Wang, Yongtian and Zentgraf, Thomas and Huang, Lingling}, year={2023} }","ama":"Li T, Chen Y, Wang Y, Zentgraf T, Huang L.
