[{"type":"journal_article","publication":"steel research international","abstract":[{"text":"
Resistance spot‐welded joints containing press‐hardened steels are seen to exhibit a fracture mode called total dome failure, where the weld nugget completely separates from one steel sheet along the weld nugget edge. The effect of weld nugget shape and material property gradients is studied based on damage mechanics modeling and experimental validation to shed light on the underlying influencing factors. For a three‐steel‐sheet spot‐welded joint combining DP600 (1.5 mm)–CR1900T (1.0 mm)–CR1900T (1.0 mm), experiments under shear loading reveal that fracture occurs in the DP600 sheet along the weld nugget edge. In subsequent numerical simulation studies with damage mechanics models whose parameters are independently calibrated for every involved material configuration, three variations of the geometrical joint configuration are considered—an approximation of the real joint, one variation with a steeper weld nugget shape, and one variation with a less pronounced gradient between weld nugget material and heat‐affected zone material properties. The results of the finite‐element simulations show that a shallower weld nugget and a more pronounced material gradient lead to a faster increase of plastic strain at the edge of the weld nugget and promote the occurrence of total dome failure.
","lang":"eng"}],"status":"public","_id":"50726","user_id":"5974","department":[{"_id":"157"}],"keyword":["Materials Chemistry","Metals and Alloys","Physical and Theoretical Chemistry","Condensed Matter Physics"],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"publication_status":"published","quality_controlled":"1","publication_identifier":{"issn":["1611-3683","1869-344X"]},"year":"2024","citation":{"chicago":"Schuster, Lilia, Viktoria Olfert, Oleksii Sherepenko, Clemens Fehrenbach, Shiyuan Song, David Hein, Gerson Meschut, Elliot Biro, and Sebastian Münstermann. “Influences of Weld Nugget Shape and Material Gradient on the Shear Strength of Resistance Spot‐Welded Joints.” <i>Steel Research International</i>, 2024. <a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1002/srin.202300530\">https://doi.org/10.1002/srin.202300530</a>.","ieee":"L. Two general formulations for second- and third-order ELDIRK methods have been obtained recently in Mahnken [21] with specific schemes, e.g. for the embedded implicit Euler method, the embedded trapezoidal-rule and the embedded Ellsiepen method. In the first part of this paper, we investigate some general stability characteristics of ELDIRK methods, and it will be shown that the above specific RK schemes are not A-stable. Therefore, in the second part, the above-mentioned general formulations are used for further stability investigations, with the aim to construct new second- and third-order ELDIRK methods which simultaneously are A-stable. Two numerical examples are concerned with the curing for a thermosetting material and phase-field RVE modeling for crystallinity and orientation. The numerical results confirm the theoretical results on convergence order and stability.","lang":"eng"}],"status":"public","_id":"52233","department":[{"_id":"154"},{"_id":"321"}],"user_id":"335","keyword":["Applied Mathematics","Computational Mathematics","Computational Theory and Mathematics","Mechanical Engineering","Ocean Engineering","Computational Mechanics"],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"quality_controlled":"1","publication_identifier":{"issn":["0178-7675","1432-0924"]},"publication_status":"published","year":"2024","citation":{"ama":"Mahnken R, Westermann H. HF significantly influences the performance of Li-ion batteries, for example by impacting the formation of the solid electrolyte interphase at the anode and by affecting transition metal dissolution at the cathode. Additionally, HF complicates studying fundamental interfacial electrochemistry of Li-ion battery electrolytes, such as direct anion reduction, because it is electrocatalytically relatively unstable, resulting in LiF passivation layers. Methods to selectively remove ppm levels of HF from LiPF6-containing carbonate-based electrolytes are limited. We introduce and benchmark a simple yet efficient electrochemical in situ method to selectively remove ppm amounts of HF from LiPF6-containing carbonate-based electrolytes.
"}],"status":"public","_id":"53603","user_id":"36716","department":[{"_id":"426"}],"keyword":["Developmental and Educational Psychology"],"language":[{"iso":"ger"}]},{"status":"public","type":"journal_article","publication":"Journal of Environmental Economics and Management","article_number":"102990","keyword":["Management","Monitoring","Policy and Law","Economics and Econometrics"],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"_id":"53611","user_id":"72497","department":[{"_id":"178"},{"_id":"184"}],"year":"2024","citation":{"ama":"Hoffmann C, Thommes K. Unlike existing approaches, our anomaly indicator introduces three methodological novelties. First, we use an endogenous, purely data-driven, nonparametric trend identification method to separate long-term market movements from more short-term ones. Second, we apply SETAR models that allow for asymmetric expansions and contractions around the long-term trend and find systematic stock price cycles. Third, we implement these findings in our indicator and conduct real-time market forecasts, which have so far been neglected in the literature. Applications of our indicator using monthly S&P 500 stock data from 1970 to the end of 2022 show that short-term anomalous market movements can be identified in real time up to one year ahead. We predict all major anomalies, including the 1987 Bubble and the initial phase of the Financial Crisis that began in 2007. In total, our anomaly indicator identifies more than 80% of all – even minor – anomalous episodes. Thus, smoothing market exaggerations through early signaling seems possible.","lang":"eng"}],"user_id":"186","department":[{"_id":"19"},{"_id":"200"},{"_id":"202"},{"_id":"475"}],"_id":"50719","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"article_type":"original","keyword":["General Economics","Econometrics and Finance","Finance"]},{"status":"public","publication":"IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion","type":"journal_article","keyword":["Electrical and Electronic Engineering","Energy Engineering and Power Technology"],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"_id":"53309","department":[{"_id":"52"}],"user_id":"66","year":"2024","page":"1-12","citation":{"bibtex":"@article{Hölsch_Brosch_Steckel_Braun_Wendel_Böcker_Wallscheid_2024, title={Insights and Challenges of Co-Simulation-Based Optimal Pulse Pattern Evaluation for Electric Drives}, DOI={<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1109/tec.2024.3374962\">10.1109/tec.2024.3374962</a>}, journal={IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion}, publisher={Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)}, author={Hölsch, Lukas and Brosch, Anian and Steckel, Richard and Braun, Tristan and Wendel, Sebastian and Böcker, Joachim and Wallscheid, Oliver}, year={2024}, pages={1–12} }","mla":"Hölsch, Lukas, et al. “Insights and Challenges of Co-Simulation-Based Optimal Pulse Pattern Evaluation for Electric Drives.” <i>IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion</i>, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2024, pp. 1–12, doi:<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1109/tec.2024.3374962\">10.1109/tec.2024.3374962</a>.","short":"L. This article addresses these challenges and introduces the data awareness framework. It focuses on understanding data-driven technologies and reflecting on the role of data in everyday life. The paper also presents an empirical study on young school students' data awareness. The study involves a teaching unit on data awareness framed by a pretest-posttest design using a questionnaire on students' awareness and understanding of and reflection on data practices of data-driven digital artefacts. The study's findings indicate that the data awareness framework supports students in understanding data practices of data-driven digital artefacts. The findings also suggest that the framework encourages students to reflect on these data practices and think about their daily behaviour. Students learn a model about interactions with data-driven digital artefacts and use it to analyse data-driven applications. This approach appears to enable students to understand these artefacts from everyday life and reflect on these interactions. The work contributes to research on data and AI literacies and suggests a way to support students in developing self-determination and agency during interactions with data-driven digital artefacts.","lang":"eng"}],"file":[{"file_size":981234,"file_id":"56597","access_level":"open_access","file_name":"Höper und Schulte - Data Awareness Framework as part of Data Literacies - ILS - AAM version.pdf","date_updated":"2024-10-11T12:01:05Z","creator":"hoeper","date_created":"2024-10-11T11:59:50Z","relation":"main_file","content_type":"application/pdf"}],"publication":"Information and Learning Sciences","keyword":["Library and Information Sciences","Computer Science Applications","Education"],"ddc":["370"],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"year":"2024","quality_controlled":"1","issue":"7/8","title":"The data awareness framework as part of data literacies in K-12 education","publisher":"Emerald","date_created":"2023-12-15T07:41:04Z"},{"place":"Cham","year":"2024","citation":{"short":"R.H. This shift is crucial for ensuring linguistic diversity and inclusivity in the digital age. Despite Indonesian ranking as the 11th most spoken language globally, it remains under-resourced in terms of computational tools and datasets. Within the semantic web domain, Entity Linking (EL) is pivotal, linking textual entity mentions to their corresponding entries in knowledge bases. This process is foundational for advanced information extraction tasks, including relation extraction and event detection. To bolster EL research in Indonesian, we introduce IndEL, the first benchmark dataset tailored for both general and specific domains. IndEL was manually curated using Wikidata, adhering to a rigorous set of annotation guidelines. We used two Named Entity Recognition (NER) benchmark datasets for entity extraction: NER UI for the general domain and IndQNER for the specific domain. IndQNER focused on entities from the Indonesian translation of the Quran. IndEL comprises 4765 entities in the general domain and 2453 in the specific domain. Using the GERBIL framework, we use IndEL to evaluate the performance of various EL systems, such as Babelfy, DBpedia Spotlight, MAG, OpenTapioca, and WAT. Our further investigation reveals that within Wikidata, a significant number of NIL entities remain unlinked due to the limited number of Indonesian labels and the use of acronyms. Especially in the specific domain, transliteration and translation processes performed to create the Indonesian translation of the Quran contribute to the presence of entities in a descriptive form and as synonyms."}],"status":"public","type":"book_chapter","publication":"Lecture Notes in Computer Science","keyword":["entity linking benchmark dataset","Indonesian","general and specific domains"],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"_id":"56581","user_id":"71039"},{"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"keyword":["Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management"],"publication":"Journal of Organizational Effectiveness: People and Performance","abstract":[{"text":"
Purpose
The relationship between variation in time perspectives and collaborative performance is scarcely explored, and even less is known about the respective mechanisms that lead to varying task performance.
