This approach involves so-called Huygens' box as an efficient radiation model inside an electromagnetic (EM) simulation tool and then transforms the scanned NF measured data into the FF. For this, the basic idea of the Huygens'box principle and the NF-to-FF transformation are briefly presented. The NF is measured on the Huygens' box around a device under test using anNF scanner, recording the magnitude and phase of the site-related magnetic and electric components. A comparison between a fullwave simulation and the measurement results shows a good similarity in both the NF and the simulated and transformed FF.Thus, this method is applicable to predict the FF behaviour of any electronic system by measuring the NF. With this knowledge, the RF design can be improved due to allowing a significant reduction of EM compatibility failure at the end of the development flow. In addition, the very efficient FF radiation model can be used for detailed investigations in various environments and the impact of such an equivalent radiation source on other electronic systems can be assessed."}],"publication":"Tensorial Analysis of Networks (TAN) Modelling for PCB Signal Integrity and EMC Analysis","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"keyword":["Huygens' box","NF-to-FF transformation","efficient FF radiation model","FF behaviour","EMI assessment","PCB","near-field measurements","efficient radiation model","far-field behaviour","RF design process","far-field prediction","Huygens'box principle","fullwave simulation","electronic system radiation","equivalent radiation source","electromagnetic simulation tool","near-field scan data","EM compatibility failure reduction"]},{"date_updated":"2019-10-28T10:29:25Z","volume":7,"author":[{"first_name":"Daniel","full_name":"Szopinski, Daniel","id":"36372","last_name":"Szopinski"}],"page":"90-100","intvolume":" 7","citation":{"apa":"Szopinski, D. This leads to high dropout rates. Although students’ motivation is considered a strong predictor of performance, the development of motivation during students’ transition from high school to university has rarely been investigated. Additionally, little is known about the relation of motivational aspects with other influences on study performance. The present longitudinal study addresses this research gap and examines the development of economics and management students’ study motivation. It encompasses four waves of data collected throughout the first year, using quantitative online surveys. In total, the sample consists of 820 students. Data is analysed using latent change modelling. Results indicate that students start at a higher level of intrinsic motivation compared to extrinsic motivation. The variability of the starting value of the two constructs is also differing. The analysis also shows a gradual decline in students’ motivation. Above all, the transition from secondary to higher education seems to be a driver for this decline."}],"user_id":"51057","department":[{"_id":"208"},{"_id":"282"}],"_id":"4421","extern":"1","keyword":["Transition to higher education","Motivation","Longitudinal study","Socio-cultural factors","Latent change model","Switzerland"],"issue":"3","publication_status":"published","publication_identifier":{"issn":["0018-1560","1573-174X"]},"citation":{"apa":"Brahm, T., Jenert, T., & Wagner, D. In the B2C field, studies of self-service technology show that perceived risk is an important factor influencing the use of service technology. Though prior research explores different risk types that emerge in consumer settings, risk perception in the B2B setting lacks a detailed examination of different risk types influencing technology-based service adoption. Data from 49 qualitative interviews with providers and customers in two different B2B industries inform this study. The findings emphasize the importance of functional and financial risks in a B2B context and show that business customers' personal and psychological fears hinder their use of technology-based services. Results highlight differences in risk perception and evaluation between customers and providers."}],"status":"public","publication":"Journal of business Research","type":"journal_article"},{"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"keyword":["cache storage","field programmable gate arrays","multiprocessing systems","parallel architectures","reconfigurable architectures","FPGA","dynamic reconfiguration","evolvable cache mapping","many-core architecture","memory-to-cache address mapping function","microarchitectural optimization","multicore architecture","nature-inspired optimization","parallelization degrees","processor","reconfigurable cache mapping","reconfigurable computing","Field programmable gate arrays","Software","Tuning"],"department":[{"_id":"78"}],"user_id":"3118","_id":"10673","project":[{"grant_number":"257906","_id":"31","name":"Engineering Proprioception in Computing Systems"}],"status":"public","publication":"Proc. The first can be adjusted to different conditions by an appropriate parameter setting, while the latter needs to be trained on conditions similar to the ones expected at decoding time, making it vulnerable to a mismatch between training and test conditions. We use a DNN backend and study reverberant ASR under three types of mismatch conditions: different room reverberation times, different speaker to microphone distances and the difference between artificially reverberated data and the recordings in a reverberant environment. We show that for these mismatch conditions BFE can provide the targets for a DA. This unsupervised adaptation provides a performance gain over the direct use of BFE and even enables to compensate for the mismatch of real and simulated reverberant data."}],"type":"conference","publication":"Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2015 IEEE International Conference on","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"keyword":["codecs","signal denoising","speech recognition","Bayesian feature enhancement","denoising autoencoder","reverberant ASR","single-channel speech recognition","speaker to microphone distances","unsupervised adaptation","Adaptation models","Noise reduction","Reverberation","Speech","Speech recognition","Training","deep neuronal networks","denoising autoencoder","feature enhancement","robust speech recognition"],"user_id":"44006","department":[{"_id":"54"}],"_id":"11813","citation":{"ieee":"J. In particular, mapping languages for the conversion of databases to RDF knowledge bases have been developed and standardized in the form of R2RML. In this article, we first review those mapping languages and then devise work towards a unified formal model for them. Based on this, we present the Sparqlification Mapping Language (SML), which provides an intuitive way to declare mappings based on SQL VIEWS and SPARQL construct queries. We show that SML has the same expressivity as R2RML by enumerating the language features and show the correspondences, and we outline how one syntax can be converted into the other. A conducted user study for this paper juxtaposing SML and R2RML provides evidence that SML is a more compact syntax which is easier to understand and read and thus lowers the barrier to offer SPARQL access to relational databases.","lang":"eng"}],"status":"public","type":"conference","publication":"Proceedings of the 8th Workshop on Linked Data on the Web (LDOW2015), Florence, Italy","keyword":["2015 group\\_aksw group\\_mole mole stadler lehmann sherif simba dice sys:relevantFor:geoknow geoknow peer-reviewed MOLE westphal"],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"_id":"29035","user_id":"67234","year":"2015","citation":{"ieee":"C. A recently proposed observation model is employed whose time-variant observation error statistics are obtained as a side product of the inference of the a posteriori probability density function of the clean speech feature vectors. Further a reduction of the computational effort and the memory requirements are achieved by using a recursive formulation of the observation model. The performance of the proposed algorithms is first experimentally studied on a connected digits recognition task with artificially created noisy reverberant data. It is shown that the use of the time-variant observation error model leads to a significant error rate reduction at low signal-to-noise ratios compared to a time-invariant model. Further experiments were conducted on a 5000 word task recorded in a reverberant and noisy environment. A significant word error rate reduction was obtained demonstrating the effectiveness of the approach on real-world data.","lang":"eng"}],"publication":"IEEE Transactions on Audio, Speech, and Language Processing","type":"journal_article"},{"publication":"Semantic Web Journal","type":"journal_article","abstract":[{"text":"The improvement of public health is one of the main indicators for societal progress. Statistical data for monitoring public health is highly relevant for a number of sectors, such as research (e.g. in the life sciences or economy), policy making, health care, pharmaceutical industry, insurances etc. Such data is meanwhile available even on a global scale, e.g. in the Global Health Observatory (GHO) of the United Nations's World Health Organization (WHO). GHO comprises more than 50 different datasets, it covers all 198 WHO member countries and is updated as more recent or revised data becomes available or when there are changes to the methodology being used. However, this data is only accessible via complex spreadsheets and, therefore, queries over the 50 different datasets as well as combinations with other datasets are very tedious and require a significant amount of manual work. By making the data available as RDF, we lower the barrier for data re-use and integration. In this article, we describe the conversion and publication process as well as use cases, which can be implemented using the GHO data.","lang":"eng"}],"status":"public","_id":"29036","user_id":"67234","keyword":["2013 MOLE group\\_aksw zaveri martin lehmann auer hassan sherif simba dice sys:relevantFor:infai sys:relevantFor:bis sys:relevantFor:lod2 lod2page peer-reviewed gho"],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"issue":"3","year":"2013","page":"315–322","citation":{"mla":"Zaveri, Amrapali, et al. “Publishing and Interlinking the Global Health Observatory Dataset.” Semantic Web Journal, vol. As a consequence, concepts on how to improve and innovate education at higher education institutions (HEI) have stayed on the level of individual courses, trying to qualify teachers to implement new teaching and learning methods in their classrooms (Aineley, 2008, S. 619). Yet, there are both theoretical as well as practical reasons that argue for a broader perspective on learning processes and, as a consequence, reach beyond the course-level but focus on entire educational programmes instead: First, over the last thirty years or so, learning theories are increasingly stressing the importance of (a) social-material contexts (McInerney & van Etten, 2002) as well as (b) learners' subjective experiences. This suggests that a course of study be not regarded as a mere addition of more or less independent courses, but rather as a holistic learning experience. This includes the sum total of a student's educationally purposeful social-material interactions at a HEI both within and outside the classroom (cf. Hu & Kuh, 2002). A second, more practical reason why educational researchers and designers should take a closer look on the design of educational programmes lies in the Bologna process: The introduction of the European Credit Transfer System as well as the tow-tiered study structure force HEI to systematically craft their programmes' internal structure. Due to the fact that there are virtually no pedagogical concepts concerning the design of study programmes, these design processes have so far been dominated by administrative considerations, largely neglecting students' experiences within the programme structures (Winter, 2009; Hildbrand, Tremp, Jäger & Tückmantel, 2008). Thus, it can be concluded that there is a lack of knowledge on how distinctive design features of study programmes (1) are perceived by students and (2) impact on their action strategies concerning for example the selection of learning activities, the attribution of resources for learning, and social interactions with their peers.","lang":"eng"}],"type":"conference","conference":{"start_date":"2011-08-30","name":"14th Biennial European Conference for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI)","location":"Exeter","end_date":"2011-09-03"},"title":"Developing a learning centered model for designing and managing study programmes","date_created":"2018-09-19T08:41:01Z","author":[{"first_name":"Tobias","last_name":"Jenert","orcid":" https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9262-5646","full_name":"Jenert, Tobias","id":"71994"}],"date_updated":"2022-01-06T07:01:06Z","publisher":"European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction","citation":{"short":"T. The Invisible Tapestry: Culture in American Colleges and Universities\". We interpret the values of the short time Fourier transform of the microphone signals to be draws from a mixture of complex Watson distributions, a probabilistic model which naturally accounts for spatial aliasing. The parameters of the density are related to the a priori source probabilities, the power of the sources and the transfer function ratios from sources to sensors. Estimation formulas are derived for these parameters by employing the Expectation Maximization (EM) algorithm. The E-step corresponds to the estimation of the source presence probabilities for each time-frequency bin, while the M-step leads to a maximum signal-to-noise ratio (MaxSNR) beamformer in the presence of uncertainty about the source activity. Experimental results are reported for an implementation in a generalized sidelobe canceller (GSC) like spatial beamforming configuration for 3 speech sources with significant coherent noise in reverberant environments, demonstrating the usefulness of the novel modeling framework."}],"status":"public","type":"conference","publication":"IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP 2010)","keyword":["array signal processing","blind source separation","blind speech separation","complex vector space","complex Watson distribution","directional statistics","expectation-maximisation algorithm","expectation maximization algorithm","Fourier transform","Fourier transforms","generalized sidelobe canceller","interference suppression","maximum signal-to-noise ratio beamformer","microphone signal","probabilistic model","spatial aliasing","spatial beamforming configuration","speech enhancement","statistical distributions"],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"_id":"11913","user_id":"44006","department":[{"_id":"54"}],"year":"2010","citation":{"ieee":"D. However, technology differences and security barriers like firewalls often hinder establishing collaborative infrastructures between enterprises or even within a single enterprise. We introduce a peer-to-peer based network infrastructure that transparently overcomes these problems using relay and routing mechanisms as well as different underlying transport protocols. We discuss the application of this technology to interconnect Web services."}],"department":[{"_id":"672"}],"user_id":"5786","_id":"39071","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"keyword":["Peer to peer computing","Web services","Intelligent networks","Routing","Relays","Simple object access protocol","Collaborative work","Transport protocols","Network address translation","Java"]}]
