Developing this competence should be a main aspect of early childhood teachers’ education. This is, however, not the case in all countries. Consequently, high-quality professional development courses are needed. Based on research results, we developed a competence-oriented continuous professional development course (\"EmMa\") and examined the effects of \"EmMa\" by asking: How does \"EmMa\" affect the development of early childhood teachers’ i) mathematical content knowledge, ii) mathematical pedagogical content knowledge and iii) beliefs towards mathematics in general? To answer these questions, we conducted a pre-test/post-test study including a control group with 99 in-service early childhood teachers. Results show that the course affected teachers’ mathematical pedagogical content knowledge and static orientation towards mathematics positively. From this we conclude that scaling-up \"EmMa\" might be a suitable approach to bridge the gap between pre-service education with nearly no mathematics and the challenges of early mathematics education.","lang":"eng"}],"publication":"Mathematics Teacher Education and Development (MTED)","type":"journal_article","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"extern":"1","keyword":["Beliefs","Competency Based Teacher Education","Control Groups","Early Childhood Education","Faculty Development","Foreign Countries","Inservice Teacher Education","Intervention","Mathematical Aptitude","Mathematics Skills","Pedagogical Content Knowledge","Preschool Teachers","Pretests Posttests","Professional Continuing Education","Statistical Analysis","Teacher Competency Testing"],"department":[{"_id":"611"},{"_id":"97"}],"user_id":"49063","_id":"36481"},{"publication_identifier":{"issn":["0267-8292","1366-5855"]},"publication_status":"published","page":"1-19","citation":{"ama":"Atorf B, Funck T, Hegmann T, et al. Since customer requirements are often written in natural language by end users, they lack precision, completeness and consistency. Although user stories are often used in the requirement elicitation process in order to describe the possibilities how to interact with the software, there is always something unspoken. Here, we present techniques how to automatically refine vague software descriptions. Thus, we can bridge the gap by first revising natural language utterances from higher-level to more detailed customer requirements, before functionality matters. We therefore focus on the resolution of semantically incomplete user-generated sentences (i.e. non-instantiated arguments of predicates) and provide ontology-based gap-filling suggestions how to complete unverbalized information in the user’s demand."}],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"keyword":["Requirement refinement","Concept expansion","Ontology-based instantiation of predicate-argument structure"],"ddc":["040"],"quality_controlled":"1","year":"2016","date_created":"2017-10-17T12:41:29Z","publisher":"Springer","title":"How to Complete Customer Requirements: Using Concept Expansion for Requirement Refinement"},{"publisher":"Elsevier","date_updated":"2022-01-06T07:01:30Z","date_created":"2018-10-26T10:20:07Z","author":[{"full_name":"Paluch, Stefanie","last_name":"Paluch","first_name":"Stefanie"},{"id":"36392","full_name":"Wünderlich, Nancy","last_name":"Wünderlich","first_name":"Nancy"}],"volume":69,"title":"Contrasting Risk Perceptions of Technology-Based Service Innovations in Inter-Organizational Settings.","publication_status":"published","issue":"7","year":"2016","citation":{"apa":"Paluch, S., & Wünderlich, N. In the B2C field, studies of self-service technology show that perceived risk is an important factor influencing the use of service technology. Though prior research explores different risk types that emerge in consumer settings, risk perception in the B2B setting lacks a detailed examination of different risk types influencing technology-based service adoption. Data from 49 qualitative interviews with providers and customers in two different B2B industries inform this study. The findings emphasize the importance of functional and financial risks in a B2B context and show that business customers' personal and psychological fears hinder their use of technology-based services. Results highlight differences in risk perception and evaluation between customers and providers."}],"status":"public"},{"title":"Talbot Effect for Exciton Polaritons","doi":"10.1103/physrevlett.117.097403","publisher":"American Physical Society (APS)","date_updated":"2022-06-19T19:44:05Z","date_created":"2022-06-19T19:40:24Z","author":[{"first_name":"T.","full_name":"Gao, T.","last_name":"Gao"},{"first_name":"E.","last_name":"Estrecho","full_name":"Estrecho, E."},{"full_name":"Li, G.","last_name":"Li","first_name":"G."},{"first_name":"O. A.","last_name":"Egorov","full_name":"Egorov, O. A."},{"first_name":"Xuekai","id":"59416","full_name":"Ma, Xuekai","last_name":"Ma"},{"last_name":"Winkler","full_name":"Winkler, K.","first_name":"K."},{"full_name":"Kamp, M.","last_name":"Kamp","first_name":"M."},{"first_name":"C.","full_name":"Schneider, C.","last_name":"Schneider"},{"first_name":"S.","last_name":"Höfling","full_name":"Höfling, S."},{"last_name":"Truscott","full_name":"Truscott, A. G.","first_name":"A. G."},{"last_name":"Ostrovskaya","full_name":"Ostrovskaya, E. A.","first_name":"E. A."}],"volume":117,"year":"2016","citation":{"mla":"Gao, T., et al. “Talbot Effect for Exciton Polaritons.” Physical Review Letters, vol. 117, no. 9, 097403, American Physical Society (APS), 2016, doi:10.1103/physrevlett.117.097403.","short":"T.
